I do not wear gas permeable contact lenses I do not wear kerataconus lenses I do not have a high prescription (always been in the -1.25-1.75 range) I do not wear multifocal or bifocal lenses or Toric lenses I'm your straight standard single vision contact lens wearer. Although today I was told my contact lens fitting would be $90 due to the "complexity" lol of my prescription (OD BEING -1.00 OS -1.25) and me being a new patient I have never had to pay this in my life I've always gone to see new optometrist in the past and me being a new patient was never an issue or to cause me to have to pay more. Nothing has changed as far as my RX goes I know she doesn't know that but I'm in the same disposable contact lenses I've been in for years. I was really taken aback at the checkout process the young man was helpful and did go ask the doctor as to why I fell under a "level two" versus a level one and came back with me being a new patient and the complexity of the visit blah blah blah. It's quite unfortunate I had every intention of using my benefits to purchase my contact lenses for a one year supply at this office although due to them not being upfront with the range of cost before hand explaining my benefits and how me being a new patient that I would fall under a whole other category rather than the surprise at check out I decided not to purchase anything from this office. Learned from this situation that every office def has their own policies in place . Although should that be the case that being "new" would put you into the category of a "premium" fitting then all benefits and office policies should be reviewed beforehand with patients I worked at CARGO EYECARE LAS COLINAS as a certified Paraoptometric assistant for almost 4 years and I am very well versed in understanding benefits etc and working at that office we always went over expectations of cost with patients beforehand that's what you call GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE. That's why I didn't question anything because I knew and understood my benefits prior to the visit guess I was wrong. So just an FYI to potential patients be sure to know what you may have to pay for a contact lense fitting. I even called Eyemed my insurance carrier and explained the situation they stated they've never heard anything like that and weren't much help visit was done and paid I was just calling them to see how or why I fell into a premium fitting There's a big difference between $40 and $90..... Provide your patients with proper expectations beforehand Dr. Ta this is definitely something that should be implemented at the front end since this is how business is conducted here that way there aren't dissatisfied patients and surprises at checkout. ***

I have been going to this Dr for a few years expecting things to get better, but my last visit was horrible! They EXPECT you to be on time, yet on my last visit, they were 30 minutes late, offered no explanation, and didn't/wouldn't even acknowledge. I had to go up to the receptionists to ask how much longer it would be. She gave me attitude! There was another client also waiting. We both walked out. She told me outside that she wouldn't be coming back. This place is horrible.

You have to either get your prescription filled with them or have the alternate supplier call them to verify your Rx. The Rx expired & decided to go ahead and go in for a verify Rx exam. They insisted on full eye exam after a year, and insisted using a digital retinal imaging retina scan. That scanning procedure alone with the exam was $244. (WITH insurance). I decided to go with a previous provider I had before and was not bullied into using a retina imaging device. I was also given a copy of my prescription to take with me to be free to shop around for the best price of contact lenses. This V-Eye-P location has all the latest equipment, styles, and sure is pretty with all the marble decor. But you don't need all of that to get quality customer service. Plus a friendlier person to greet you goes a long way. Look into that.

Even with the change from an independent shop (Las Colinas Vision) to a corporate chain in MyEyeDr, it's still a great experience. My Overall Rating - 4 Stars (Atmosphere, Service, Facility, Return) Atmosphere - MyEyeDr is located in Irving-Las Colinas and is a location with many healthcare businesses. Inside is a dedicated area for the optometrist, complete with multiple rooms and high-end equipment. Then there is a dedicated area for you to purchase glasses with the brand-new prescription you just received. It's a one stop shop. 1 Star. Service - My optometrist (for over 2 decades), is Dr. Park. He's personable, thorough, detailed orientated, has knowledge of my vision history, and remembers my family. I feel very comfortable visiting Dr. Park as my optometrist. The receptionist and retail staff are also very helpful. Just be warned, they're really busy in December when everyone is trying to use the Insurance benefits before they reset. 1 Star. Facility - There is a small waiting area for kids (great if you bring them with you), and there are multiple rooms to take multiple tests on your eyes. "Number one or number two? Two or three?" You get the idea. For the retail area, there are a large number of designer brands (Tom Ford, Prade) along with mainstream brands (Ray-Ban, Oakley's). The staff is great. My only issue is that it's very expensive. Even if you have good insurance, expect to pay extra. 1 Star. Will I Return? - Yes. I've been a patient of Dr. Park for decades, and a customer of MyEyeDr too. While it's super expensive, the experience is good and I always end up walking out with a nice pair of glasses. 1 Star.

After a lackluster experience with our former optomotrist in Uptown/Park Cities, my mother came…read morehome yesterday excited about finding a new optomotrist for our family, closer to our home near Las Colinas. She's had a severe eye infection for over a week and needed to be seen. The front desk staff greeted her when she arrived and was very welcoming. She was even more grateful they still saw her after being unable to find the online appt she had made the week before. She said the doctor was amazing, personable, knowledgeable and most of all caring. She was in and out for her appointment and very pleased - a 5 star visit! Today, my mom woke up with blurred vision so my Aunt went to get her prescriptions but there is only one. The doctor specifically told my mother to call the office if there is a problem with getting an eye ointment she prescribed. My mother calls the pharmacy to inquire about the eye ointment and they don't provide a reason yet suggests she calls her optomotrist as well. Remembering what the doctor told her the day before, she does just that. My mother is on speaker when she calls the office. The staff who answers the phone goes quiet after my mother provided her name and reason for calling so my mother thought the call had dropped. As my mother continues, the staff member interrupts, then goes quiet again as if she's bothered. Needless to say, I did not like how the staff member was handling my mother but I remained quiet and kept listening. Apparently, the eye ointment that was prescribed was not covered but my mother did not know this - because she does not work for the pharmacy, insurance company or doctor's office. She ONLY called because the doctor instructed her to do so if she encountered a problem attaining the ointment and she just wants to get better. The staff member continued to be condescending and facetious after informing my mother her insurance does not cover any ointments but it was when she passive aggressively stated "unless you want to pay $200+ dollars for the ointment...." I was floored! As if to imply my mother did not have the funds or capacity to do so! This is where my problem lies, who are you to infer where or what my mother spends her money on? She paid $3500 out of pocket for her eye surgery so $250-$300 is not going to hurt her financially for a medical prescription IF she needs it to get healthy. She's a Director over 11 financial institutions in Dallas & Houston, a philanthropist, a professional, makes over six figures and spends that on lunch so how dare you infer that paying for the prescription OOP would be a problem as if to put her in her place? In the interim, I digress. Again I'd like to reiterate per my mother, the doctor is phenomenal with great bedside manner, the office is nice and clean and boasts a lot of options for glasses and contacts, and you're in and out without waiting. She really didn't want me to mention anything because anytime we tend to have an issue or grievance, it's depicted as "Angry Black Woman" syndrome so she overlooks minuscule things. Well I don't and I feel like the office and public should be aware of this one staff member in case they encounter her. She's in dreadful need of etiquette, empathy and customer service trainings but we shouldn't allow one bad apple to ruin the bunch.
