I really like this place! We went here on the recommendation of a friend; we were happy with our old place but wanted to find somewhere closer. They were honest, professional, and patient while I picked out my new frames. Doc is super friendly and helpful; I've only had good eye doctors but he may be the best I've had. Best of all, the whole staff were VERY helpful and super patient with me when I said I wanted to try contacts. Anyone who knows me knows I'm a total spazz, especially when it comes to (a) loud noises or (b) things coming toward my eye. Recipe for disaster, right? Well, I wish I could say "wrong" but what's awesome is they worked with me very very patiently to help me get the hang of it the first time, and by the next week when I came in for my follow up, I was a pro! Life changing stuff! Also, pro tip that getting the blue light blocker on your glasses is AMAZING. Total game changer, you wouldn't believe how much less strained my eyes get looking at screens, especially at night. As someone who works in software, this is a big deal! And I wouldn't have known about it if the doc hadn't recommended I look into it. read more

I was not able to get an appointment at this time. However, Lisa answered the phone and was able to see if my insurance would cover the services. She was so nice, explained insurance information, and looked through different systems to check my insurance. She didn't rush, and wasn't upset that I didn't know much about my insurance. Dr. Marshall is a fantastic optometrist, but above that he's got a heart of gold. Let me explain: I first saw an ophthalmologist for my dry eyes (see the 1-star I gave to Dr. Taub). The greedy doctor charged me $700 for the 5 minutes he saw me, and after that bill I didn't even have the money for the prescription drops he prescribed me. A month later, my eyes, burning red from dryness, couldn't take it anymore. But I was broke now. I started calling around the city to see if any doctor would be able to help me on my now very small budget. I called about 20 ophthalmologists and optometrists. Finally I reached Dr. Marshall, who quoted me a good price on eye plugs, which maintain the moisture in your eye. After inserting the plugs, Dr. Marshall then sat with me for 20 mins+ and explained to me all the ways that I could work to make my eyes feel better. I can proudly say that I write this today as a person who can look at the computer screen for hours at a time and suffer no dryness. I'd venture to say that there's no better optometrist in Dallas than Dr. Marshall, and although now it was almost 2 yrs ago from the time of my first visit to him, I'm excited to find him on Yelp and recommend him - I really can't thank him enough for how he helped me. ----- EDIT: I'm reposting this from the page on Dr. Marshall's prior location off Montfort, where he has a perfect 5-star rating... it's a shame those ratings don't transfer over to new locations. I really like this place. It's clean and the doctor was quite friendly. My only gripe is the front desk lady is insanely rude. She'll talk over you and acts as if she's put out for having to deal with you at all. I just called in to place an order for my contacts and there's a discrepancy on my prescription. She read off the wrong brand and lens power. When I corrected her, she very bluntly said "well this is what's on the chart" and didn't say anything further, as if that somehow solved everything. I asked for the doctor to review my chart which she responded poorly to. I'm not sure what her deal is, but minus three stars for having to deal with her. read more

Nicole A. rocks!! Nicole picked up the phone when I called what seemed like the 20th optometrist and I asked her if my new insurance was accepted. She kindly responded it was not accepted at her location, however, she did not hang up - she took the time to find out why it was not accepted. Apparently, I was giving the wrong insurance name. After our phone call, i called an optometrist that had previously denied me and I was able to book my eye appointment with them due to the correct info. Thanks Nicole for taking a few minutes to help me. Kind, patient people like you make a HUGE difference in this world! It's been 20 years since I've seen an optometrists and this place is amazing. I found this place by looking at yelp reviews. I would highly recommend giving this place a shot if you need glasses, yearly check up or contacts. They are handling the pandemic very well and keep everything sterilized. read more

I moved here from Kansas City about 6 mths ago. I found Marshall Eye Care on Yelp. What a pleasant visit. The Dr was so very thorough with my daughter, boyfriend and my exam. He took his time with each of us. I have pretty bad stigmatism's in both my eyes and he worked with me to get the right contacts to help me see clearly. The staff is super sweet as well very helpful and inviting. Can't wait to pick up our glasses and contacts. read more

Thorough eye exam by Dr. Marshall. However, I was quite surprised to be asked for $150 for a contact lens exam which was NOT performed. In fact, it was only in the last 5 minutes of the exam that I suggested trying a contact lens for reading. He simply looked back at the computer where my readings were and got one for me to try. When I complained about the extra fee (above what my insurance would cover for the 'regular' exam), it was negotiated down to $75 which still annoys me no end. My advice is to hold on to your wallet and be sure to ask about the cost of everything that is done. My insurance paid $150 and I paid $75 - $225 total. A pretty expensive eye exam, wouldn't you agree? I will not return for future annual eye exams. read more

Extremely rude front office staff, set 3 appointments for myself, my wife and my 80 year old mother. My wife went in separately and they were rude to her because she filled out the online patient forms that morning. They were rude to me for being 5 minutes late to an 11:00 appointment, the delay was due to the time it takes to get my mom in and out of the car, but I was told immediately that I could not be seen. No assistance wheeling my mom into the practice, no smile or greeting when you walk in and they, as there were two of them, seemed bothered that we were there at all. Keep in mind this entire exchange took less than 3 minutes. It took longer to get my mom out of the car and into the wheel chair than it did to realize we made a horrible mistake picking this practice. Premier service provider they are not. read more

I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE DR MARSHALL, HE IS AWESOME! HOWEVER......... let me clarify that it has NOTHING to do with Dr Marshall. it has to do with a certain staff member upfront. she is EXTREMELY rude. not only to me but to another staff member as well, right in front of me! not exactly sure if Dr Marshall will actually see this?......but he needs to. this person is not only rude in person but over the phone as well. i tried to call and set an appt and i didn't have all of my insurance info, normally dr's offices have no trouble calling the insurance and getting additional info, but this person refused to do so and i had to call them myself and get info and call back. at my appt she told me my total and i asked her to repeat the information, she snapped back and with an attitude repeated it. also when i asked her to make my contacts a 6 month instead of a year, because my insurance cost didn't cover the full year and i would have to pay an extra 60 plus out of pocket for the rest, i am aware of this. however the way that this person phrased "you lose the rest of your allowance" was uncalled for. she said it in a way that was condescending and snooty. when i was talking to another person about my glasses, this person walked me over to the counter to check out, and her words to the other staff member were "you can go away now" extremely rude and uncalled for. like i said, i love Dr Marshall, been with him for years. however, the experience with her makes me want to go some where else. i only wish i had gotten her name, but i didn't,. and not trying to be rude but she's a bigger girl and Hispanic. i work really hard for my money, and i don't make a lot, so to be treated like this at a place where i have to drop 50 bucks for an appt and possibly another 60 plus for the rest of my contacts, really makes it hard for me to have an enjoyable experience and want to come back. Dr Marshall eye exam very good! Best eye exam I have ever had. Humana Medicare advantage plan offers vision coverage. I have never had any vision coverage in the past. Selected Marshall Eye care as was in Humana network. As stated Dr Marshall eye exam was best one I have ever had. However filling of prescription was less then satisfactory. Custmer service and follow up not good at all. 45 days to get correct glasses not satisfactory at all. Will think twice before getting glasses at Marshall wye care in the future. read more

I've been a patient of Dr. Marshall since his practice was at the Optical centerbin Wal-Mart. So happy to see his business grow. The new facility is gorgeous with so much more room. My husband talks nonstop about how great his experience was with Dr Marshall, who accurately diagnosed his eye issues after years of not knowing what was going on. Dr Marshall found an astigmatism that cause poor night time vision and was then able to correct the problem. I no longer feel unsafe driving with my husband at night! read more

My husband and I were both due for a eye exam and after seeing a commercial for a digital eye exam, he wanted to try that rather than doing the traditional "1 better or 2...1 or 2" routine. The provider w/the commercial my husband saw was about a 1hr drive away (with no traffic), so after searching online for digital exams -- Dr. Marshall's practice was the closest to us with good reviews (and accepts our vision insurance), so I decided to try them. I called on a Tuesday to see if they could see us on Thursday, and we were easily and quickly squared away for back-to-back appointments. I was asked to complete the new patient form for each of us prior to the appointment, and I did so Wednesday evening with no issues. For both my husband and I, it took about 15 minutes to complete the new patient questionnaire. Day-of our appointment, we arrived about 5 minutes prior to our first appointment time. The two front desk attendants were both busy with clients, but one of them kindly acknowledged us and advised we would be assisted soon. When it was our turn, we were greeted, asked for our IDs and had a quick questionnaire to complete. We were quickly assisted by the tech -- felt like less than 10 minutes -- she went over my vision info and such before Dr. B. Marshall came to see me. Dr. Marshall was extremely personable and very informative. The digital exam is AMAZING!! I have needed corrective eye wear since elementary and I have never had a eye exam as wonderful as this one with Dr. Marshall. My husband was diagnosed a few months prior to our visit with Marshall with episcleritis. The ophthalmologist we saw lacked any real bedside manner and failed to openly discuss the diagnosis -- I had to coax every bit of info out of him. Dr. Marshall was in-depth and provided us with more information than the ophthalmologist! DEFINITE WINNER! Once we finished with our exams Carmen helped us look at frames and she was ON POINT with frames she selected for my husband to consider. I found the price on their frames to be very reasonable and with the promotion they had, I paid way less for my glasses and 1 year of contacts than what I have previously paid for just contacts alone. My husband and I both enjoyed our experience at Dr. Marshall's and knew before leaving that we found our go-to optometrist. You can't beat the type of service Dr Marshall's office provides. First, let it be said I am an optometrist's worst nightmare. I grew up in a family that owned an optical business (so I know enough to be dangerous) and I'm notoriously hard to fit when it comes to contacts. They'll feel fine in the doctor's office, but end up sucking the life out of my pooped-out peepers after a long day slaving over a hot computer, or staring at traffic for hours behind the wheel on DFW highways. By the time I get home, I want to claw my eyeballs out. Plus, I have a truckload of astigmatism in one eye, requiring a toric lens, and a bifocal correction in the other, so no matched set for me. That would be too easy. When I telling my admin I was having a hard time with my lenses, she practically jumped out of her seat. "You must see Dr. Marshall" she implored. "My husband's impossible. Nobody could find lenses that would work for him, but Dr. Marshall stuck with it and he couldn't be happier." Having crushed the spirit of far too many well-intentioned professionals in the past, I held out little hope. But I made an appointment, desperate for a solution. At my visit, I was immediately impressed by the office's modern diagnostic equipment. Tech is always changing in that industry and it's not cheap to stay current. I also noticed Dr. Marshall had an enormous store of contacts on hand - the largest I'd seen. I started to feel I might finally be on the right path. Then there was the doctor himself. Great listener. Patient. Excellent diagnostician. So, fast forward: we did indeed plow through a couple dozen different brands of lenses and multiple RX tweaks over the following year to work on getting my vision working up close, at a distance, at night and feeling good during periods of extreme dryness. No matter how many times I came in and reported that this pair or that pair wasn't working, he never showed a hint of frustration. In fact, quite the opposite. It motivated him further to find me my Valhalla in contacts! In fact, I think we actually arrived there this last week with a new lens and new RX. Loving so far. Can't say enough good things about Dr. Marshall - and coming from a long line of optical experts, I feel absolutely confident recommending him. read more

I have only had a couple interactions with this company, but only with the receptionists. I sent an email communication through their website explaining that I would like to schedule an appointment for an exam, and asked if there was availability on the weekends or evenings. I received a voicemail afterwards from Carmen explaining that she booked me for that Saturday at 9, and to call back if this doesn't work. I appreciated this at first, as sometimes it is frustrating to call back and forth trying to set an appointment. I called back and spoke with someone else and informed them I could not make the appointment they scheduled for me, and I rescheduled for Monday at 9:30. I took the day off work for this and when I arrived they did not have me in the schedule. I left and will now be finding a different eye doctor. I never even met with the doctor but the customer service was not helpful at all. Also as I was trying to check in, the other receptionist hung up the phone on who ever she was talking with and then said "ugh talking to an idiot." I thought this was very unprofessional as well. read more

Friendly and knowledgable staff. Optometrist was professional, caring and current with the newest trends in eye care. The office is beautiful and up to date with all new equipment. I was amazed at the array of designer and high end glass frames they carried. I walked out of the office with the multifunction contact lenses I needed and the gorgeous Juicy Couture glasses I chose were ready the next day! Additionally, they were wonderful with my 6 year old. This was only his second eye exam ever and they assuaged his fears, made it a fun experience and I had confidence that they assessed his vision needs correctly.
