I like the sandwiches here. The ingredients are quality tasting and the dining area is usually well kept. Although it may or may not be obvious, keep in mind you can customize anything, the bread, the meat, veggies, toasted or not so don't be afraid to ask. You can also pay extra for "the works" which is a bunch of ingredients, and then some more for chips and drinks. The following is more of a note to management. As I opted to dine in on this most recent occasion I heard some unfortunate conversation happening in the back between staff. Which sounded like poor customer service training. This started with a few customers after me who had some what complex orders, substituting this for that. The conversation could be clearly heard from the front was opportunistic: 1)When one of the employees had a question about what the customer wanted and not wanted on his sub, some one also in the back had responded "just make it how you think they said it, don't ever ask." 2)After another customer leaves: "People are so dumb ordering this sandwich without 'this and this,' when they could clearly just order 'this' and save money. I'd never correct them though, that's their fault." 3) A customer right after paying at counter walks to her table drops her drink, splat all over the floor. Walks back and they make her pay for a new one. This one isn't the worst this in the world, but I do believe the right thing to do would've been to replace her drink. 4) Train your staff HOW to mop. This sounds silly but the girl that Came out to mop pushed it around like she had never held a mop in her life. read more

Why people actually go to subway in West Seattle when there are faaaaar better options such as this is beyond me. About the same price but the quality of food is so much better. Highly recommend if your in a fixing for a sub or sandwich. Money well spent on a delicious and true sub from a local spot. Compared to a subway, mikes, or JJ; which is a Mc fast food for subs IMO. Go get a freshie here for lunch for the same price and give a tip. read more

Best bread for a sub I've ever tasted. My picky daughter wished that she didn't get the childrens sandwich! Staff was nice and this was a cleanand cheap establishment! A very decent sandwich. Nothing that stands out all that much from the shop though. I live pretty close to here and like getting warm sandwiches but they're basically just very average. I've had the turkey bacon club, turkey bacon ranch and the mess. They're all good and I'd eat them again but they aren't all that special. A bit messy and the bread is average at best. Not only are the subs good, the service is excellent! I love the potato salad here too, it's a fave. Skip subway, they slice their meats in-store here! The turkey was tender and thinly sliced, but not thinly placed on my sandwich. The pastrami once toasted was tasssssty. The toasted bread was still fluffy and was gentle on the roof of my mouth. The tomatoes were juicy and the lettuce fresh. It was a generous portion for under $5. Quick ordering process, friendly servers. They bring the sandwich to your table so you don't have that awkward "I'm staring at you while you're making me lunch" situation. By far the best cold cuts in West Seattle! I opt for the Turkey & Ham on wheat with the works and add pepperoncinis & pickles. The bread is fresh, soft, and melts in your mouth. The ingredients are also fresh and stacked high on each sand which (no Subway portions here!) In addition to their amazing sandwiches the service is super fast, and my orders are always done to perfection. I highly recommend you try this sub shop. Friendly, efficient service and fair prices. The vegetarian sub comes with guacamole and mushrooms, and they have more vegetable options you can add. It's not quite as flavorful as Jimmy John's (maybe they use less mayo?) but it's a pretty good sub. read more

Ok so first thing you are thinking is "really? 5 stars on a sandwich place?" Yes 5 and I am grading it on a sandwich shop scale. Jersey Mike's to me is a gut bomb waiting to happen and Subway is...well Subway. I probably go to Sub Shop at least once a week if not twice in some. I've tried practically every sandwich on the menu at least once, even the salads. I can honestly say I have never been disappointed with any of them and I can't remember ever having an order screwed up. I know there are probably instances where this may happen but I'll bet anyone $100 that the same happens at The Metropolitan Grill too. My favorite sandwich here is the Turkey, Bacon Ranch and they also have a nice spin on the Reuben that is pretty tasty too. Love to get a cup of Ivar's clam chowder that they serve as well. My son is a fan of the classic ham and also the meatball sub. Lots to choose from and everything is fresh. I noticed they are also on Postmates now too! read more

I really can't say much bad about Sub Shop. The subs are good and hearty, the soup offerings are usually pretty good and the place is clean. There is the option to make any sub a salad, too. There is a bit of a wait sometimes but the quality makes it worth it. 2 bread options, a few fountain drink choices but also bottled. I tend to like the chili that probably comes in a bag but is pretty good, usually needs pepper though. read more

I've been coming here for about 10 years now and I'm never disappointed. I'm pretty boring though because I only get the same Turkey Bacon Club everytime. It's delicious! My favorite sandwich in all of the land! Today I decided to use my stamp card and get a DIFFERENT sandwich (get 10 stamps and get a free 6 inch, awesome!) And I got the Philly Cheesesteak. Incredible! I feel guilty for not trying anything else prior to this. The staff is friendly. The owner is always there working and helping out with a smile on his face. This Sub Shop is a sleeper hit. As far as deli style sub sandwiches, the sandwiches here are better than Tacoma's renowned MSM Deli. The bread is perfect and the sandwiches are always so balanced. Disgusting. I got the Greek Salad. Chicken was flavorless, clearly boiled and not grilled or baked. Olives were regular and not kalamata. Solid sandwiches, not a super efficient staff after 2PM. I've been going to Sub Shop in Westwood for about 5 years now, and it never seems to change in any way (which is both good and bad). The Good: Their sandwiches are flavorful, they have a *lot* of options, and you get a pretty hefty sandwich even for a 6". The only Less-Good: As far as I can tell, after school gets out, this place is typically staffed by about three 16-year-olds who, despite their kindness and silliness, aren't very quick about whipping up sandwiches. When I'm not in a hurry, it's no problem, but there are times when the whole place is empty and nothing is happening behind the counter, which gets a little frustrating. (Yes, I know this makes me sound old and cranky.) Toasted sandwiches are filling and flavorful, and you can get some Ivar's clam chowder on a rainy day! read more

I went an ordered a Ham, Turkey and Beef 12" sub and never asked for Oil & Vinegar but noticed he put in on my sandwich and when he called my order I asked him if he put that on there he told me no but I know he did because I watched him. Then he explains to me he wiped it off with the lettuce that was on there so it wasn't there anymore. I really hate O&V so I asked him to make me a new one with his response being "Whatever" (Don't be upset with me I'm not the one that messed up the order) So he makes me a new one but barely puts anything on this one. (Hardly any meat, mayo or mustard and a couple of slice of tomatoes. Turns out I just remove the meat from the sandwich and just eat that but not to happy about paying 11.00 for a slice of H/T/B and slice of cheese. I can imagine a slightly spicer, more zesty sub in their special, but that would push them over the top to a 5.
