    a hamburger and french fries
    Sherry B.

They just reopened today after being closed for a year and wow have they changed! Brand new kitchen and dining room and boy, is the staff excited to be back! The menu is new (no breakfast, sadly) but a nice variety. They had a grand re-opening special of a Hamburger meal which included a HUGE hamburger made of Angus beef, leaf lettuce, red onion and some sort of delicious seasoning; a heaping serving of fries, and a fountain drink for only $8.99. There was so much food, their To Go container could barely hold it all! Seriously... the best burger I have had in a long time. All the ingredients were fresh and tasty...reminded me of the type of burger you would make yourself on your own grill in your backyard. If you haven't been here in a while (and from the reviews, it sounds like a lot of the less flattering reviews were from several years ago) give them another try. I've never met a friendlier group of people serving better food at such a reasonable price.

I came in and asked for the discount and was informed that this was no longer in place. He didn't have to do that and it was such a kind and generous offer. What a genuine and caring establishment. Also that matzo ball soup was better than my Jewish grandmother's! Bonus: this spot is kosher! Potato Latkes (5/5): These latkes are thick boys and fried up so they're piping hot when they hit the table. Because of their size, you really get the contrast of the hard crunch on the outside with super fluffy potato inside. So good we immediately turned around and ordered more. Chocolate Babka (2/5): This was truly the only miss I've had here. Unfortunately, the babka just really dries out after it's been sliced, which is a shame because it's just gorgeous with generous swirls of chocolate inside. Reuben (5/5): I really thought their pastrami couldn't be beat, but the brisket is dare I say better? Just as tender and feels a bit less fatty, so it's a little more crushable. Tip: go for the seeded rye over the marbled rye; something about the marbled rye just falls apart a bit more with the juices of the meat, though it's still delicious! Black & White Cookies (4/5): I expected this to be cloyingly sweet, but this was actually scrumptious with some fresh lemon flavor in the cookie itself. Absolutely massive as well.

Then you chose to increase prices and decrease the quantity, which didn't make sense. Less for more? What a waste of a great idea - greed is why your business model didn't work. Your business was so hot when it opened and it actually went downhill about 6 years ago and I am not sad to see you go. Josh - to respond to your comment. My note should have inspired some reflection with the business model but it didn't. Your level of greed was insane and that is not forgiven here. You started hot and decided to squeeze more than your share from this business and this is what happens. You messed around and found out. It's sad because I actually supported the business when it opened but quickly had to end my dealings due to the high level of greed. You did this to your own business by wanting more, more and more, so please don't play the victim here. I'm sorry that you're saddened by this but what you did to the community is far worse than what I said. Actually ripping people off with your product is not having humanity. I'm not the inhumane one here and let's get that straight. I didn't rip people off - you did! You got what you deserved and that's that. You likely have time to turn things around but I doubt you can reduce your greed in time. If you do, I'll gladly come back and support yall. Again - food was great and greed was not.

I'd heard they were good, but holy smokes, I didn't realize they would be *that* good. Here are my recommendations: - Get the Tatstrami. Its combination of flavors is so freaking good. - Order online and then sweep in and pick it up. Since the place does most of its business during lunchtime, there's always a line and this is a way to skip that. If you want to venture beyond a pastrami sandwich, I highly recommend the chicken cheesesteak. While I normally opt for beef when it comes to cheesesteaks, Tat's actually isn't amazing but their chicken one is. So get that instead. In short, this is tied with Dingfelders for the best sandwich in Seattle. Pay it a visit and bring your appetite.

My selection this time are the soft rice wrappers with ground meats and woodear inside and the chewy rice wrappers with dry shrimps inside. They never fail me, and I always want to try more varieties. I also bought a vermicelli to-go pack and an order of chicken wings with seven pieces. On a budget but with a taste for adventure? Their prices are very reasonable and full of varieties. With stiff competition from the dueling names of Saigon Deli and Saigon Vietnam Deli, Banh Cuon Tan Dinh Deli is the quiet sibling seeking your attention. Same as their competitors, Tan Dinh is also a take-out only deli shop. After posting on social media, I was surprised to learn I have multiple friends who are loyal fans of this place.
