Easy brunch spot by campus - seems like it gets busy especially on game days. We got in line about 15 minutes before it opened and were able to get in with the first wave of customers. They have seating inside and outside (outside is covered). Service was quick and friendly; I got the Chilaquiles Tortillas + sourdough which was filling but nothing special. Good option to be full for a long game day! There is some street parking but I recommend walking/ubering if possible!

Studio One Cafe is great! Was looking for a quick brunch fix and this place hit the spot. Good prices, good quality food and our server was great. Will be coming back my next time in town!

This place was such a pleasant surprise! Albeit a little pricey, it is certainly worth it (or it was for what I ordered). The coffee is delicious, everyone is friendly, and the food came out pretty quickly. The inside is very nice although we sat outside. The menu is quite long but very versatile and definitely worth coming back for more. The portions are generous and my only gripe with the Chilaquiles is the salsa is a little overpowering and the chicken could have better flavor, but it was delicious nonetheless and the home fries especially were so good. Awesome, cute & charming.

Came for brunch after hiking Spencer Butte. Don't let the exterior of this diner from deterring you from eating amazing food. Portion sizes were generous with my breakfast burrito. For desert, we had their famous French toast with three different sauces. Just wow! A meal here can last you the entire day!

Zorra Zorba the Greek was a great healthy scramble. I chose wheat bread and the home fries.

Really attentive staff, I thought they were going to have no seating but there are quite a few spots to sit at when the weather is good. We sat in the covered area with dogs and they brought us a water bowl. Food came out perfect temperature and the mimosas were delicious. Highly recommend!

Years ago we really liked this place. I honestly do not remember what I had that I liked here. We showed up on a weekend, expecting the place to be packed. Thankfully we were able to get seated right away, and the service was great. I had a hard time trying to decide on what to order. Lately nothing sounds good to me due to having lingering long haul covid. That has taken away my taste for some of my favorite food such as breakfast items. Bacon, and eggs. I ended up ordering their famous berry French toast, and a side of ham. The ham was like lunch meat, and I was really not that impressed with the berry French toast. I had my guy try it, to see if it was just me, or if it was my crazy off taste at the moment. He usually is not picky. While he said that they tasted fine, he said they were not the best. He said he wouldn't want to come back for them. The one thing I can say was a favorite was the coffee. I didn't order it, but he did. Cafe Mam. Can't say I will be back soon. May try for lunch. But won't be in the near future.

My wife wanted to take our son and daughter-in-law to breakfast while we were visiting. She found Studio One which was very close and convenient to the Airbnb we were staying at and found they serve breakfast all day. Since it was a Saturday morning she called to inquire about the wait time and was told they had a couple of large tables open. We arrived shortly before 10:30am and found street parking just down the block. The cafe is located in the heart of Eugene near the University of Oregon. We walked up and could see immediately they have covered patio seating. We walked to the counter inside and were directed to a larger table on the covered patio. They also have indoor seating as well. We were given menus and our drink orders were taken. As we perused the menu, our drinks arrived and we made our selections. Two of us chose the breakfast burrito. I have been craving a breakfast burrito since I seldom find them on the menu in North Carolina. My wife decided on the People's Choice Omelet and our daughter-in-law ordered the Field of Dreams benedict. She had never tried a benedict before and was anxious to experience it. Our meals arrived very quickly and looked amazing. We each really enjoyed our meals and everything was really tasty! We enjoyed our experience and recommend Studio One to others. As many small businesses in the University area the seating is limited and the wait times may be dramatically different when the University is in session.

Studio One Cafe is perfect when visiting the university of Oregon. The dining area was crowded but we were able to be seated immediately which was nice. So many menu options sounded delicious but I had to try the French toast sandwich. Get this if you love sweet and savory. The eggs and cheese mixed with the sweetness of the French toast and maple syrup were to die for. Also they have a number of loose leaf teas which were delicious! It's so uncommon to find a loose leaf tea, let alone one that is delicious and unique! I look forward to coming back here!

I try to hit this place every time I'm in Eugene. They seat you immediately, even if they seem to be too busy, and the food comes out quickly. I love that they have many mimosas to choose from. Another thing I really like about this place is the à la cart menu has quite a few choices for smaller appetites.

Small, tight spot that provides a bit of indoor and outdoor dining. The service was prompt and courteous, the host was loud and gregarious. We had a few different plates at the table and all were just kinda so-so. I thought an outside the box take on biscuits and gravy was a good call. The Chile verde option on biscuits & gravy fell short on appearance and lack of pork and now I know why the server had never had it before. (Lesson learned, lol). It's wasn't bad, but it's not something I would ever order again. The other typical breakfast plates at our table looked standard and our group agreed everything was just kinda meh-good... and that's ok!

Busy but they had a table for us. Very nice decor, rotating menu. We had the buckwheat pancakes with caramelized bananas, dates, and pineapple syrup which was sweet but not overly so since the pancakes underneath were not touched by the syrup ended up being a really nice balance. Bacon was like a cross between pork belly and bacon (very thick) but really tasty. Breakfast Sando was good with in-house ground pork and a nice aioli. We also tried the savory macarons (Brie and truffle) which are delicious. Creamy and a tad sweet. Not too much truffle. Coffee was a bright tangy pour over-not my favorite type but some people really like that style. Oh, and we had a blood orange mimosa which was really good Overall an excellent experience! Definitely going to again when we are in town!

There are restaurants that seduce you with promise, and others that test your patience before…read morerevealing their intent. Lion & Owl, on this particular morning, proved to be both--a place of evident talent, yet uneven discipline, where flashes of brilliance are offset by lapses that no serious kitchen should permit. Let us begin with the triumph. The buckwheat pancakes arrive not merely as breakfast, but as a composition. A stack of admirable loft and structure--evidence of a properly developed batter, handled with restraint and precision. The crumb is airy yet resilient, each bite yielding gently before dissolving into a delicate nuttiness inherent to buckwheat. A caramelized banana sauce pools generously, glossy and fragrant, its sweetness tempered by the cultured tang of crème fraîche. Toasted coconut chips scatter across the top like crisp punctuation, lending both aroma and texture. This is cooking that understands balance--sweetness checked by acidity, softness lifted by crunch, comfort elevated by technique. It is, quite simply, a five out of five dish. The kitchen, here, remembers what it means to nourish and delight. And then--alas--we encounter its counterpoint. The mushroom brioche toast, in conception, should be a study in harmony: buttery bread, earthy fungi, silken eggs, fresh greens. Yet the execution falters at its very foundation. The brioche--so essential, so central--is pushed past the threshold of caramelization into bitterness. In a bread so rich with butter and sugar, precision is everything; overcook it, and the entire structure collapses under a shadow of char. The garnish, too, feels careless--large stems of greenery draped without intention, rather than composed with purpose. It is a dish that looks promising from a distance but betrays its flaws upon inspection. A two out of five--a failure not of imagination, but of discipline. The brie and truffle macaron arrives as an afterthought--set aside, unannounced, uncentered, as though it were a spare utensil rather than a composed pastry. Presentation matters. It signals care. Here, there is none. And the macaron itself? A confection that should whisper with delicacy instead resists with age. The shell is hardened, the interior overly chewy--signs of time having passed unkindly. The flavor is confused: a sweet, almost vanilla shell encasing a mild, savory filling of whipped brie and timid truffle. Neither side asserts itself; neither yields to the other. It is neither dessert nor savory course, but a muddled compromise. A two out of five, and left unfinished--a silent verdict more damning than words. The mimosa, I am told, is bright and pleasing, though presented without flourish--a small omission, but telling in a restaurant aspiring to polish. A four out of five, competent yet unadorned. The pour-over coffee reveals a lighter roast profile: bright acidity at the fore, a nutty mid-palate, a gently lingering finish. It is, as you observed, "hipster coffee"--intentionally expressive, though perhaps too acidic for a more classical palate. On flavor alone, a three out of five. Yet the experience is marred by a most unforgivable intrusion: a hair in the initial cup. Such a thing should never reach a guest. Ever. And beyond the plate--there is service. Dishes arriving out of sequence. Eggs meant for one guest appearing with another's delayed entrée. A table divided, one diner finished while the other waits. Explanations that do not align with reality. Items placed without acknowledgment or intention. These are not minor stumbles; they are fractures in the very architecture of hospitality. The Verdict Lion & Owl is a restaurant caught between what it is capable of and what it consistently delivers. There is real talent in this kitchen--evident in the pancakes, in the conceptual ambition of the menu, in flashes of thoughtful composition. But talent without rigor is unreliable. And hospitality without coordination is hollow. For every moment of genuine pleasure, there is another of carelessness--overcooked bread, stale pastry, inattentive plating, lapses in cleanliness, and disjointed service. In the end, one must judge the whole, not the highlights. Overall score: 2 out of 5. A restaurant with promise--undeniably--but one that must remember that excellence is not achieved in moments. It is achieved in consistency, in care, and in respect for the guest at every stage of the meal. Until then, Lion & Owl remains... a place that almost is.

With that meal you will experience actual satisfaction and contentment. That's the first thing I have to say in case you're reading for a recommendation of what to order. Even better if you have it late night after experiencing the best Handel's Messiah concert at the Hult in December. I had a small slider of corned beef along with his amazing fresh Kale salad garnish with shaved Parmesan, walnuts, added protein -- sausage. It came with a toasted slice of soda bread that was great. But the slider was how I realized the corned beef was PERFECTLY prepared. A taste was not enough; I decided to get the dinner plate version to take the next day up to Seattle with me. Fantastic staff included Barkeep Illyia, whose birthday it was. She kept up a steady stream of attentive care, skillful service, friendly banter with each of the clients that came in and said good by to them as they left. Hospitality was her middle name. Love that they have mugs for the regulars hanging from the ceilings, the bar space is great but so are the arm chairs and cushioned seats in the corners of the pub. I even ran into two other concertgoers who had also been so energized after the Messiah concert that they didn't want to go home. We spent a half hour at the bar unpacking the highs and best points of the performance by the Eugene Symphony Orchestra, and the symphony choir, and each of the soloists. We also unanimously agreed the tenor was fantastic, the baritone a paragon of artistic talent, the soprano sang incandescently, and that the final AMEN movement was soul healing and mind blowing simultaneously. Yeah. It was that good. This place was the right place to come to unpack it all over a Guinness and the best corned beef and cabbage in town. The new public house is pretty much behind their original spot, overlooking Coburg Road. We sat in a booth with very tall walls that felt very private but I don't feel like I could tell you the vibe of the rest of the restaurant. Since I was sitting in the back of the booth, I could only see two other tables that were along the windows and the traffic going by in the dark. Next time we'll ask not to sit in a booth so we can see more of the restaurant. Our server informed us that the public house was split into two sections. We were in the full-service restaurant part and there was a more casual (order at the counter?) section by the front door for people that just wanted to grab a beer and sit at a communal table. Our server was excellent. Not the typical Eugene service from him! He answered our questions about the beers and brought us tastes and had all the answers ready about the food. They were out of two things (understandable at such a new spot) but I noticed that they had already changed their menu a few times in the few short weeks they've been opened. Yay for seasonal menus!! Our party went super basic and we all ordered the Butter Burger (the butter is mixed into the patty so it helps the burger caramelize) which came with fries. We also split the grilled potato salad(served chilled), which was a good sized portion to split with our group of five. My kiddo got the wings (sauceless) and fries. The beer I tried Minute After Midnight was very good and thoroughly enjoyable. Now for the downside. The food. The Butter Burger resembles a regular McDonald's hamburger, the patty is grossly over seasoned and completely unenjoyable. As shown in the picture the bun was burned on the inside and the outside. It was very unpalatable. The Pretzel was large and warmed through nicely however the overall quality of the pretzel was that of a common bulk discount store. They placed four very small slivers of cheese on it that did very little to improve the flavor and appearance of the pretzel. That being said the mustard dipping sauce was very good. The French fries were spot on and very enjoyable particularly with the garlic aïoli that was served with the unimpressive hamburger. And finally let's get to the Delicata squash , unfortunately I will spend the rest of my life trying to remove the taste of that culinary disaster from my taste buds. The appearance of the dish is a complete disaster the aroma is as repulsive as wondering into a public bathroom shortly after someone spent far too long blowing up the toilet. I made the mistake of tasting it, that left a mark. The texture was the best thing about the dish with as poor as the texture was. The flavor was so putrid that I had to spit it into a napkin. It was a totally unpleasant experience. The ambience was warm and inviting. It would've helped if they had a section where kids could be, so the noise does not bother the customers that went to an adult location like a taproom to enjoy an adult beverage. I do believe this establishment does potential. The servers are amazing and the beer I tried was excellent. They do however need to fire whoever has created the menu and the recipes. The food is truly a crime against humanity. I truly hope they can get the quality of the food under control. I would be willing to give them another try if in fact the menu and food is corrected.
