I stopped in at this cafe after an eye appointment next door. It's very cute and cozy and wasn't too loud even though most of the tables were full. It was also nice and warm, which was very welcome since it was in the 30s outside. The cashier took my order quickly and was very nice. I got a hazelnut hot chocolate and the original egg sandwich, both to go. The hot chocolate was good and had great chocolate flavor - it didn't taste like it was from a powder. The egg sandwich was so good. It was exactly what I wanted - egg, cheddar, toasted bun, and a delicious garlic butter spread. The garlic butter was absolutely delicious and I wish I could take a bottle of it home with me. The employees all seemed to get along great and were joking around with each other and chatting happily while working. They all seemed very happy while working, which was refreshing to see in food service when so many employees are treated so poorly. I will definitely come back here in the future to try more menu items and to spend some time sitting to eat my food when I have more time. I'll be thinking about that garlic butter for a while too.

This is a cute little locally owned coffee shop-style cafe that offers sweet and savory crepes, sandwiches, breakfast items all day, and vegetarian and vegan options. They also have an impressive short list of regional craft beers, a few wines, and a nice list of loose leaf hot teas. The staff has been friendly and efficient both times we dropped in to meet friends there this week. We enjoyed several different hot teas, a nice pint of ale, and two of their vegan option meals: the Vegan Break burger with a locally made vegan patty, and the Ranchero Crepe, which comes with a variety of choices for a side. Seating is available along the back wall inside or on tables on the open patio when it's nice outside. Parking is easy to snag in the attached lot. I hear that they sometimes host live music, and they were playing pleasant background music during both of our visits. A pleasant atmosphere overall.

It would be nice if reviewers who weren't happy with the service EIGHT YEARS ago would come by and clean up their messes. 16 Tons continues to provide multiple bennies to us locals: good grub, good coffee and beer, relaxed service esp when there are crepes involved, and THE BEST smaller scale OUTDOOR CONCERT setting in Eugene. The staff are friendly, attentive & working hard. Get on down and refresh your freakin' browsers, y'all. 16 Tons gets it done.

Time for an updated review to say that this place is still one of my favorite cafés in Eugene. Lots of seating, both inside and outside. The music is good and not too loud, you can easily have a conversation with someone or work on a laptop with an appropriate amount of background noise, so it's a good place to catch up with a friend, work on a laptop, or read a book. The menu is robust and they offer tasty lattes made with Wandering Goat coffee, a great selection of beer and cider and wine on-tap, and great food options: everything from sweet pastries to savory breakfast sandwiches to lunch/dinner options and small bites, too. I generally find the staff to be friendly and mellow. On my most recent visit, I got a 12 oz pour of a favorite beer and my friend and I split an order of nachos and cowboy caviar with chips. I like that this place has a little bit of everything and is great any time of the day!

Great place for casual food. The savory crepes are awesome. I'd never had a savory crepe before visiting 16 Tons, thought they were only for dessert. The coffee is amazeballs and I didn't even need sugar in it, which is rare for me. Patio is nice for hanging outdoors and the staff is friendly. In the evenings there's often live music and you can grab a unique beer on tap too. Something for everyone. Highly recommend.

Beautiful artwork and great coffee. A perfect combination!

Food was just okay. Serving size was skimpy. Coffee was good. Waitress accommodated us by carrying food outside.

Super nice alif on the south side of Eugene. Live music on the patio during the summer and solid beer selection.

Great stuff on tap and all the workers are in a great mood. Would definitely roll through just for that alone these days.

With that meal you will experience actual satisfaction and contentment. That's the first thing I have to say in case you're reading for a recommendation of what to order. Even better if you have it late night after experiencing the best Handel's Messiah concert at the Hult in December. I had a small slider of corned beef along with his amazing fresh Kale salad garnish with shaved Parmesan, walnuts, added protein -- sausage. It came with a toasted slice of soda bread that was great. But the slider was how I realized the corned beef was PERFECTLY prepared. A taste was not enough; I decided to get the dinner plate version to take the next day up to Seattle with me. Fantastic staff included Barkeep Illyia, whose birthday it was. She kept up a steady stream of attentive care, skillful service, friendly banter with each of the clients that came in and said good by to them as they left. Hospitality was her middle name. Love that they have mugs for the regulars hanging from the ceilings, the bar space is great but so are the arm chairs and cushioned seats in the corners of the pub. I even ran into two other concertgoers who had also been so energized after the Messiah concert that they didn't want to go home. We spent a half hour at the bar unpacking the highs and best points of the performance by the Eugene Symphony Orchestra, and the symphony choir, and each of the soloists. We also unanimously agreed the tenor was fantastic, the baritone a paragon of artistic talent, the soprano sang incandescently, and that the final AMEN movement was soul healing and mind blowing simultaneously. Yeah. It was that good. This place was the right place to come to unpack it all over a Guinness and the best corned beef and cabbage in town. Love that it was open late enough to enjoy after the concert. Will be back.

It was thick slab corned beef, perfectly tender. I also got their pretzel with the beer cheese sauce. To be honest, the beer cheese wasn't my favorite...was a little gooopy and the texture wasn't great. But, the pretzel was fantastic. It has the salt, the chew, and it was a great size. I also got their colcannon. It was great! Creamy and delicious. I ordered their brown gravy too because I like gravy with my potatoes and it was hearty and a big side for the price. All in all, i definitely recommend the pint pot!

Oregon knows beer. Oregon does beer…read more Oregon does beer really, really well. Drop Bear is tapping some outstanding local craft beer with global appeal. In an area of the world that is close to some of the best hops production, it is no surprise that they are tapping some fresh IPAs and hazys and making them really sing. Those grassy, citrusy notes always hit differently when you know the hops have been recently harvested. Myself, I generally prefer malt over hop, so I opted for a tall glass of their Ruby Roison, an Irish red. And whoa, dude, was that a sensational glass of bier! Very subtle with the hops and had those caramel-ish notes as soon as I took the first sip. My adventure buddy (and resident Duck) knocked back a Squeeze Boxx, a pronounced hazy IPA with a fabulous citrus profile and very little bitterness from the hops. Both pints did not last long, and when we paired them with a plate of Roly Poly (think pesto-y breadstick) they were perfect. Look into Drop Bear. Lots of their dishes are vegan, and their flavor profiles are phenomenal, both beer and food. There's some seating out front along Willamette, but the real winner is how much space they have inside. And check them out during their happy hour (open until 5:00) where you can get pints for a discounted price. Throw in some really knowledgeable staff, with events always posted on their socials, and you've got a pretty good spot to visit.

Great outdoor seating and indoor bar area. The beer is solid considering they have a smaller menu of their own beer, but they make up for it with a guest list and a limited amount of their own beers, plus for the none beer drinking that might be in your group they have Wine & Hard Lemonade. They don't have food here but there were some nearby food trucks/stands on this block. The cherry on top here was the service. We came here after running the Eugene Mararhon & the server let us know they have drink specials for the race participants and gave us a breakdown of their beer menu to help with our selection.

There was only one bartender, but she was super nice and friendly despite a constant stream of customers. It seemed like most of the people were lifelong fans and regular customers. We all had flights, plus a few extra selections. I also learned Ninkasi now owns Ecliptic Brewing so a bunch of their beers are no made here and were also on tap. They had mostly their flagship IPAs but also an amazing selection of small batch beers which were less prevalent styles. Prices are reasonable. If you're a beer fan, this one is a must-stop!
