    They've just expanded a bit, and are serving the same good quality breakfast/brunch fare as before! We ordered a fried chicken biscuit and I was really impressed by it. The size was a bit over the top, but that's what I get for ordering an entire chicken thigh on a soft buttermilk biscuit - the structural integrity of the sandwich would have been more sound had I gotten it on brioche. I don't think it needed egg, but then again, I have a smaller appetite than most. Very delicious, crispy, juicy chicken though :). It hit the spot for me! Another constant for Washburne is they have a really nicely brewed batch coffee... As in, it doesn't taste burnt, gross, or like work conference coffee - it actually tastes good. Better than the way others batch brew Farmer's Union coffee!

    This place is always a must when I'm in the area! The biscuits are actually to die for! I got the breakfast sandwich and it was the perfect pick me up! The portions are small so i wouldn't come here for a full breakfast but it is nice to grab something and go. I was in this weekend and it took over 30 minutes to get our food so be prepared to wait! And my coffee was a little watered down but it was pretty busy in there. I've been before and had better experiences!

    Delicious and beautiful. Perfect spot for my brunch and grading papers. So happy that Springfield has a great coffee shop.

    Super cute spot!! It can be busy, but I've never had trouble finding a place to sit. Even if it's cold you can brave the picnic tables outside. Service is good. If you're dining in, go to the counter to get your drinks but they will bring your food to you. Bus your own table. If you want water, it's by the silverware, which you will need to grab yourself. Bathrooms in the back. Food is very good. Biscuits and gravy is one of my favs. Street parking, so be patient with trying to find it, sometimes it's hard.

    We enjoyed our breakfast visit at The Washburn Cafe in Springfield. It was nice to get away from the hustle and bustle closer to UofO yet this place was really not far. They were super busy with locals and visitors but the staff handled it well and their counter service made it easy. The breakfast sandwiches were yummy and the coffees right on the mark.

My mom ordered a waffle a la carte and it was honestly stunned to see that it was a pre-made waffle (I saw her put it in the oven when I was getting some water). Liege style they may be, but Eggo liege? I mean I clearly don't know they use Eggo waffles specifically, but I just cannot believe they charge over $5 for a frozen waffle they stick in the oven for a couple minutes. We ordered some beignets for the table, and beignets came with the meal; we assumed they'd come first. It was a lot of food, especially all at once, so the beignets didn't quite get the full attention they deserved. But they were just ok, and if you're looking for beignets I wouldn't come here just for that; Oh My Mini Donuts in Eugene makes them better. Probably the best part of the meal in my opinion was the breakfast casserole thing they have--their potatoes. It reminds me of a breakfast thing that my mom used to make and now I need to find a recipe for it so I can make it soon. The biscuits were not bad, though the butter was cold so it couldn't really spread very well and that made the biscuit a bit dry. And on an 80 degree day they couldn't put any ice in their water container (water is self-serve) so it was room temperature. I'm glad that we came because now I don't have to wonder about it anymore. And I mean, it's in Springfield just on the other side of Glenwood, and the Eugene/Springfield area isn't huge so it took all of 15 minutes to get her. But everything I had here--except for the potato casserole--is something I can get a better version of elsewhere, and closer.

The waffles are liege waffles, the yummy kind with the sugar crust! And it was all really delicious! The beignets were hot and flaky and came with this light lemony creamy stuff that was very good. We ended up taking home boxes--I feel like I've got enough food leftover for 1.5 meals! They have Coke Products & juice in a case, along with unlimited coffee and water. The staff was friendly, considerate, and gave some great recommendations.

We were happy to see that while they were fairly busy, they were quick to put together a table to accommodate us right away. Located within a small strip type mall in South Eugene, parking is relatively easy. This local family business is open 7 days a week from 7am to 2pm. They offer their full menu which includes both breakfast and lunch items all day. In addition to American breakfast classics they offer Mexican-inspired dishes such as Huevos Rancheros and Chilaquiles. Our server came by and welcomed us and took our drink orders. In addition to the natural offerings of coffee and assorted juices they offer specialty coffees ranging from a standard iced coffee to white mochas, cappuccinos, dirty chai tea latte's and Mexican mochas. As we began to peruse the menu we immediately noticed their prices are extremely reasonable, which is always appreciated. Everything on the menu sounded really yummy and we each made our selections. Our table ordered items including the Linguica Scramble, Pancakes, and Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches. The restaurant had a good steady stream of customers but they appeared to be able to handle the amount of people and we didn't notice anyone wait more than a couple of minutes to be seated. We also observed a good amount of to-go/Door Dash traffic. Our orders arrived in a timely manner and looked delicious. A caramelized banana sauce pools generously, glossy and fragrant, its sweetness tempered by the cultured tang of crème fraîche. Toasted coconut chips scatter across the top like crisp punctuation, lending both aroma and texture. We had the buckwheat pancakes with caramelized bananas, dates, and pineapple syrup which was sweet but not overly so since the pancakes underneath were not touched by the syrup ended up being a really nice balance. Bacon was like a cross between pork belly and bacon (very thick) but really tasty. Breakfast Sando was good with in-house ground pork and a nice aioli. We also tried the savory macarons (Brie and truffle) which are delicious. Creamy and a tad sweet. Not too much truffle. Coffee was a bright tangy pour over-not my favorite type but some people really like that style. Oh, and we had a blood orange mimosa which was really good Overall an excellent experience! I will also say, I worked in restaurants for almost 8 years and I am VERY understanding of costs and the possibilities of off days. But this place is honestly ridiculous. First of all, I did a to-go order, so my review is completely about that experience, the food, and the cost. I do not have a review of the service. $18 dollars for a breakfast burrito sounded crazy, but since it was my bad not checking the prices, I went through with it. The food was not at all worth $18. It was bland and soggy, not moist or juicy from the sausage, just soggy. The flavor of the sausage was good but other than that the burrito was completely bland. The home fries on the side were pretty tasty but I didn't even want them and would've preferred them inside the burrito or not included at all for a lower price. My main reason for leaving 1 star and not maybe 2 or even 3 is that they charge a 10% gratuity on to-go orders which, to me, is unacceptable. I generally tip about that much on my own for to-go (20-35% if I eat in for people who think I'm awful lol), but given the food is ridiculously overpriced I was unsure if I would this time. Them making that decision for me without any heads up ensures I will never come back here again. A small note on ambience; the place is stinky. As I said, I didn't sit down so take this with a grain of salt, but when I walked in I was blasted with a musty and kind of dirty smell that would've had me not wanting to stay for a meal. I honestly feel bad writing this review but this place does not deserve the communities continued business unless they SERIOUSLY up their game. I don't believe I will ever be back but hopefully they improve and actually live up to the 4.1 rating that they have. There are many, many better tasting and more affordable options throughout Eugene, even places with much lower ratings.
