I think the restaurant has new owners but the menu has gotten significantly smaller. It used to be amazing but since the change, it's more basic meals. The chicken was delicious but they sat us out front and our waiter forgot about us for 50 minutes. This is a fun home cooking comfort food place. The ambiance is nice and the food is good. The Mac n cheese is good, burgers are tasty. It's not my number one spot in Provo but if you're looking to switch it up for date night it's a fun one and the food is tasty! It seems they went through a recent menu change so my expectations were already soiled when I looked at the options and realized it was nothing like what I'd seen listed online. Your are very limited, and everything is overpriced. They're known for their fried chicken, which was admittedly good, but if that's really what you're looking for I'd recommend just going to Chik-fil-a. The service was also subpar, when asking for a fried chicken sandwich with the coleslaw on the side (for allergy reasons), they brought out the regular sandwich. When corrected we watched the waiter talk it to a table in the back room and pick the coleslaw off, bringing it back on a new plate with a quarter of the coleslaw still on the chicken. I can't stop thinking about this place. I went there with my wife on Valentine's Day. I got the chicken Parmesan Valentine's special, and it was mind-blowingly delicious. Really neat location downtown, spacious with extra seating in the back. However service was super slow and at least two tables didnt get cleaned up the entire time we were there. We found the food tasty when we got it. We also ordered their house made rootbeer which comes in a large mug and the verdict was thumbs up. Wish we had known about the rootbeer float from the start though, not just as a dessert item. The poutine was unremarkable and not ideal with steak now instead of pulled pork. The mac and cheese was spot on and so were the wings. The salad was large but unremarkable. The real star is the chicken and waffle dish, a recommend for sure complete with homemade walnut syrup. While on vacation, I decided to give Station 22 a try for a late lunch. I tried the "Pig & Cheese" sandwich with a cup of tomato soup. The sandwich is best described as a grilled cheese meets pulled pork with grilled apples. It was expertly made. Plenty of meat, but enough cheddar cheese and Apple (tart)to compliment the pork. They even used some cheese on the outside of the bread to add flavor and a lasting crispness to the bread. I'm stealing this idea for home. The soup was really good. I'm not usually a soup guy, but couldn't resist the cheese & tomato soup combo. There's a reason it's a classic. It wasn't from a can. I assumed it was house made and the server confirmed it for me. It was thick and creamy with a wonderful tomato taste. Will definitely come back next time I'm in Provo. read more

Southern food in the west. I'm very southern raised from Mississippi/Tennessee. First the good: the place has a cool vibe, very date worthy atmosphere. The chicken was good, the fried green tomato's were on point. The bad: In an age of Covid- the tables were not spaced near enough and in order to use the restroom, you must walk through the kitchen area. Weird. The food was good but NOT $18 for 3 pieces of chicken good. Yup you read that right. Huge soda menu/only to bring a bottled soda to the table. So much for a cool mixed drink- oh the bottle was $3.50. The tables were super wobbly. I won't be going again. Just way too expensive for the food. read more

It breaks my heart to give Station 22 one star. 2 years ago this place was in my top 5 in Provo, UT. Tonight for date night we were excited to hit it again after not being here in over a year. To say we were disappointed would be an understatement. The food use to pop. Tonight was mere cafeteria food with a high price tag. Instead of the thin cut, crispy sweet potato fries, they are now large wedges that aren't cooked in the middle. The buffalo sauce was more like a spicy ketchup. My husbands favorite dish, Whiskey chicken, which used to be beautifully presented was now just some fried chicken thrown on a plate with a side of potatoes and the sauce no where to be found. In their favor, the waitress was very sweet in bringing us a side of the necessary sauce. We will not be returning and I'm so sad I wasted money and a precious date night on such mediocre food. Fiat Italia brought us to this find yesterday for a late lunch. Place is hipster with good vibes. Liked the vintage decor. Started with the poutine. Was delicious. The husband LOVED it! I ordered the special, Pork Tenderloin with grits. Bug portion. It was really good. I loved their spin on the grits, by serving them in stick form. Pork was so tender and all flavors with the gravy and spices was right on. Every bite came together perfectly. Couldn't finish, so I doggy boxed the remains. The husband order chicken and waffles. He worked really hard at finishing but was a bit full from the poutine. The chicken was crispy and tender with great flavor. The waffles were big fluffy with perfect crust on the outside. The topping was over the top good. Every bit he said was better than the first, hence him doing his best to eat it all.... The server was young and very friendly. My first experience at Station 22: Had reservations Friday night at 7:30, we were seated immediately but didn't speak to a waiter about food until 8:10. During this time the lights did go out for about 8 minutes. I had to flag down a waiter in order to get our order taken. Food didn't come out until 8:35. We ordered two apps because we didn't want to wait for a full meal at that point. We got the Mac and Cheese (7/10) with grilled chicken (6/10) and the brussel sprouts with bacon (6/10). We also tried a couple of their root beers (8/10) and a fruity soda (9/10). For a place to have average food and still not tend to basic needs was very disappointing. I ordered the spicy chicken sandwich. The chicken was a good texture but the I found the spice flavor lacking. The bread of my sandwich fell apart so I was covered in sauce. It also only had two small pickle chips on the sandwich. The Cajun fries were a good fry but again lacking in the spice I expected. The space was also small. So this place was AMAZING!!! The Whiskey Chicken was one of the best dishes I've ever had in my 31 year life. I'm a chef who has been working in California restaurants for over 10 years. Additionally, I'm totally one of those picky Californians. The Sweet Potato fries are more like massive homemade sweet potato wedges, my niece said those were yummy (I was jealous and they looked delicious). Our server Tana was so very sweet and kind, she helped me pick from three dishes I highly recommend this establishment to others, I'll make sure to come here specifically next time I'm in the state. read more

FYI, it's possible to ruin a perfectly good piece of chicken by over cooking it. 2. When you say whiskey mushroom sauce, one would think there would be mushrooms; and the "sauce" tasted like BBQ sauce mixed with grape jelly. The mashed potatoes were edible though - they may have been homemade. 3. Nobody likes to eat shrimp that hasn't been properly shelled. And the sauce on those weren't great either. 4. My go to is chicken and waffles, it comes with crispy fried sage on top and I'm drooling just thinking about it. Also the fried chicken sandwich is to die for. They were also playing the weirdest music possible that didn't match the atmosphere whatever. The food was AWFUL. I only leave reviews when an experience is exceptional, and this definitel was. I'm going to be honest, I had the chicken and waffles and it was some of the worst chicken I've had in a long time. It was very dry, had very little flavor, and was over-cooked and chewy. I had to fight each bite, as it was very difficult to rip a piece off the chicken. If I had made that chicken myself I would've been upset and hesitant to share it, and I'm not a great cook to begin with. The waffles were average but thats perfectly fine because the syrup they provided was awesome, a very nice flavor. Also the rootbeer I ordered was great, probably the best part of the meal, so I'll give them that. Oh I don't want to forget about my girlfriend's wings, oh boy. I am a wing lover and try them everywhere I go, and have listed my favorites across multiple states. She was given very slimy wings, on par with what we sold at pizza hut when I worked there years ago.
