I love Firehouse Subs. The food is usually good and the service is pretty friendly. This was mostly true this time around but I'm not sure I got the double meat I paid for. the sandwich seemed a little light compared to what I typically get at the locations near my home.. Otherwise, it was the typical experience. I don't know if I'll dine here again. I love this location. I'm not sure what the issue is with wait times mentioned in the other reviews but I have placed at least a dozen different orders online from this location. I work about 7-8 minutes away. I place my order, wait 3-4 minutes and then leave. My sandwich is always there waiting for me when I get there. The older gentleman I always see there is SUPER friendly and helpful. I fancy myself as a discerning consumer of sandwiches. I get the club on a sub and it is one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. Top it off with their branded Captain Sorensons Datil Chili Sauce, and you have heaven on a hoagie. The bread is perfection. Always. I've never had bad bread there. The portions are perfect. The veggies, fresh. The meat on the club is perfectly steamed or heated. It is an experience. Disappointing. The parking is packed, also I ordered online ahead of time so it would be ready by the time that I selected. When I got there, I waited another 25 minutes for my order to be ready, and they put my sandwich out with mostly lettuce and almost none of the good stuff as you can see in the picture. I also specified that I wanted a Diet Coke, and they gave me a Coca Cola. They seemed very stressed but they also were prioritizing people that came in after I did, even though I had a specific pick up time. It's really a hit or miss with this place. Sometimes it's good, most of the time it's just average. Also I tried to order with a reward on the app and it wouldn't let me apply it, so I ended up paying for a brownie I thought I was getting for free, and paying for the wrong drink that I don't even like or want. read more

I think Firehouse makes some very good sandwiches, especially if you eat at the restaurant. I say this because one of their unique aspects is that they steam the meat separately before they put it in the french roll. When this is all warm the sandwiches taste much better than if they are cold. We've tried various sandwiches at Firehouse locations both in California and Utah and the quality has been quite consistent. They have some healthier options as well for people looking for low fat or low calorie food. The bread is satisfactory, not amazing, but the ingredients are high quality, especially the meat. Our favorite part is actually the house hot sauce (Captain Sorenson's Datil Pepper Sauce) which is free inside the restaurant and compliments the sandwiches very nicely. They have a wide assortment of hot sauces that you can take your table to augment your sandwich. They also have the Coca-Cola freestyle machines with one of their drinks available, cherry lime-aid, which is one of our favorites. Pretty sweet but they have fresh lime slices there to offset some of the sugary taste. On the downside, the prices are a bit high and the portions are not overly large. We still certainly recommend Firehouse as a nice alternative to some of the larger sandwich chains. read more

The food at this location has never been a disappointment, however the service here is pretty pathetic. I have been multiple times over the last year and the only thing that changes are the faces. You will walk in and be completely ignored (even if the place is empty) until you actually flag someone down. Then the person taking your order acts like they have better things to do then help you, and heaven forbid if you ask any questions, because the attitude they get is unreal. I keep going back here because it's my boyfriend's favorite sandwich place but all 4 times I've gone I've gotten something different and been disappointed. I like my sandwiches with a lot of veggies on them so I always order add ons. They have forgotten something every time (banana peppers once, onions another, etc). They also say that some of their sandwiches come with deli mustard on them... Which I've asked for every time. I still have yet to taste or see deli mustard. I called at 8:30 because my wife was craving firehouse subs, was told I could only order online, and they'd close online ordering in 10 minutes. I pull over (I was on my way there) and I log in and place an order. This took me 4-5 minutes. As I'm ready to put my payment in it says that I can order for tomorrow. I call the location back and they state that they don't have a register. I guess it's a new era of business, I show up and they Are literally closed at 8:40 and I get looked at like an idiot for wanting to purchase some food so close to 9 pm. This location must truly bad ownership or something. The workers seem to know what they're doing but they are very reluctant for simple things. A) they won't answer any of my phone calls between 1:00 pm to 8:00 pm B) The employees have trouble working the line pretty much everytime I've gone in the past year. Again the employees have seem to have a slight grasp on what's going on but I've seen and heard the stress from them time and time again. 5 of my experiences were near closing and they only had 3-4 customers in the building. This is a sandwich shop that was supposedly started by fireman. But don't let that distract you from there great subs. Here in Utah they are most comparable to gandolphos and ernies deli. They are a premium sub place with ten different options. Unlike subway you order the sandwich and get what's on the menu you don't get to customize the sandwich as it is created. I used to come here several times a week but stopped coming for a while. I have come twice in the past week and both times it has taken 30 minutes to get my sandwich when there is only 4 people in the store. I mean it's just a sandwich 30 minutes is a bit extreme my friend ordered right after me and after 45 minutes someone came and asked if we were still waiting for an order and they said they didn't have his order anywhere. We ended up asking for a refund for his meal and just left for him to get food somewhere else. I love the food here but nobody has time to wait that long for a sandwich so I probably won't be coming back for a while. read more

It's hard to do a review of a sub shop without comparing it to that one gigantic chain, but I'll do it anyways because Subway is a measuring stick many people are familiar with. Firehouse isn't bad, it just generally isn't special. Their sandwiches are just the plain old subs that you can get anywhere. The meat isn't much better than Subway, and they don't jazz the sandwiches up with interesting spreads or toppings. There are options for corned beef, pastrami, and brisket, but they aren't spectacular. The bread is very middle-of-the-road. I'd say Firehouse is only slightly better than Subway for its sandwiches, but the prices are outrageous for what you get. The sandwiches are tiny, but I guess you're paying to support firefighters. Better off going to Gandolfo's, in my opinion. read more

Here's the thing. They have a nice vibe going for a chain, the theme is cool, the menu SOUNDS great, and in theory I ought to just love this place. Only I don't, because the food does not inspire. It doesn't live up to the rest of the experience, or to the price. Portions are not huge. Flavor is not big. Ingredients are neither particularly fresh/flavorful nor particularly unique. At the price they charge, there's just no particular reason to go here rather than anywhere else. I hate to say it, but the nearby Subway actually makes a better sandwich for the same price, and faster, too. Sure, you won't get all the decor and the firemen's uniforms hanging on the wall. I have to start of my review by talking about the coke machine they have where you can formulate any drink with a number of different coke product flavors. Such a great idea! Touch screen makes it easy but would really help if they put up some kind of instructions on how to make the machine work more effectively.  Maybe it being my first time it took me a little longer to figure out then it should have but once i sat down i noticed quite a few other people having trouble with it.  I ordered a cherry limeade that came out a lil to sweet. Instead of dumping it out my sister suggested squeezing some limes in it. That did the trick. The sandwiches here are amazing! A little bit more spendy then the typical subway, blimpie etc. But worth every penny. My sister and i shared a turkey and bacon sub fully loaded with mayo, mustard, olives, bacon, ranch dressing, and onions.  The great was fresh but some of the other ingredients on it were not. Overall i would say the sandwich was a notch above the general sub shop.   With all that being said i really did like the way the set the restaurant up.  Its very clean and bright. The service is friendly.  Im not a huge fan of the location as sometimes its impossible to get out onto fairview or milwaukee so i tend to stay away from these types of places.  It does seem lately more and more menus are places higher then they use to be which i fell makes it more difficult to read. read more
