Got the grilled steak on my way back to SLC for lunch on the recommendation from a colleague and will have to add this to my lunch rotation when I leave Orem. Ordered at the front counter and the guy working was super helpful in picking a sandwich. Eventually went with the Grilled Steak, which was their version of a Philly Cheesesteak but a little healthier and with a lot more mayo - which I could've gotten with a little less of. I don't know what the bread was but it had a hint of sweetness to it but it didn't detract from the sandwich's intended flavor. I could've gone with a lot more cheese since it was described to me as their version of a Philly Cheesesteak but overall, I would definitely come back next time I'm in Orem for lunch. read more

Came here for the first time recently and was impressed. My husband got a breakfast sandwich and he loved it. I took a bite and it was way good - the bread was soft, the eggs were cooked perfectly, and and bacon and sausage was crispy! It was great. I got a turkey sandwich and it was good but not the best I've had. I didn't like the bread. It was average and kind of stale. Just basic and not a lot of flavor. Ernie's makes the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had and is easily the best you'll find in Utah. I'm shocked that it's gone under my radar for so long because it's a crowd favorite. I highly recommend the Champ, their classic breakfast sammy, but you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Plus beyond just the food, they have great stuff and a cool dining room vibe. It's not a large dining room but it's perfect for dates or small groups. I happened to stop by for lunch with my team and were lucky enough to find two tables next to each other for the seven of us. Parking is also a tiny bit tight but honestly, I don't think either of these is an issue as they got our food out to us quickly and I imagine most customers are "stop and go" for a quick meal. read more

This is by far the best sandwich place left in Utah, the breakfast sandwiches are to die for. If you ever need a good grab and go meal this is it, the workers are always super nice and get your food to you as quickly as possible since it can get very busy and is just overall amazing. Super cool little shop I drive an hour there and back just to get their food sometimes and I wish I had one closer to me because I would get it almost everyday, super delicious and always a good experience here. read more

I used to like this place. The sandwiches were delicious. But $25.96 for a sandwich that should've come with a dill pickle and chips but did not is to high a cost. I ordered a catcher in the rye, and I got a pissy drink with a lid that would not stay on and the cheapest straw I've ever seen in my whole life. They put the sandwich in a bag and stapled it so I didn't know there were no chips in there. I'm sorry to say that $25.96 for one sandwich without a pickle and without chips and a drinks that can't even be transported. It's too much. read more

I couldn't remember if I'd ever been here before, but once I got inside, it was pretty clear that it was in the negative. It's not the kind of place you forget, but I think is one that people tend to think of when they think hole in the wall. This place is a bit larger than that, but not hugely. It's pretty tiny inside. Menu selection is pretty good. I tried for a 6 inch pastrami something and it wound up coming up as half a pastrami sandwich on rye bread...ummm, k. I don't understand why you'd offer a 6" and 12" version of this if it's whether or not you're going to get 2 full slices of bread or not. Just say half or full sandwich. More than a touch on the annoying side there. Anyway, what was there was pretty ok. Meat ratio was a bit on the light side, but what was there was solid, flavor-wise. Bread was nice and soft, but not particularly forward in the flavor profile. I could have done with a full sandwich, but...nevermind. I already went over that. Chip selection is okayish. Coke Zero on the fountain is on the good side...I'd probably stop in again if I was in the mood for a sandwich, but looking around, it seemed everyone's was a touch on the lighter side, as far as internals, so, word to the wise, I guess, there. read more

The food here is great. The pricing is crazy. I paid almost 17.00 for a pastrami sandwich and first they made my sandwich incorrect. I got it the way I ordered it and barely any meat. Wow I could have got more meat on my sandwich from Jersey mikes or Jimmy John's. The staff is always great though. I felt really ripped off this time. This is a community and local breakfast staple. I've been going here for at least a decade and there is not a better breakfast sandwich. The poppy seeds on the chewy bun.. just mwah . Personal favorites are the Champ (maximum meats) and the Middleweight. Expert tip is to add hot sauce inside on the egg and the flavor profile is insane. I bring it home to add sambal..if you know what that is, then you definitely must add it and you will never want to eat it without sambal again. Theres a good assortment of other choices on the menu, but the chocolate cream dessert cakes are so good that they can become a bad habit. This place is a home run! But seriously, the names are clever, the sandwiches are delicious, the atmosphere is one of a kind, and there's something for everyone. It's a great sandwich to take on a hike, to start your day, to cater for a watch-party, or just to satisfy that sub craving. I've made an effort to try something new every time I've stopped in and I have tried their whole menu. Obviously there is some sandwiches that are better than others, but I've yet to try something I didn't like. The food is decent but far from great. The service is horrible. It literally took me 40 mins to get a sandwich. From the rude girls upfront to the slow work in the kitchen it's not good. I don't like leaving bad reviews but honestly I shouldn't have to wait 40 mins for someone to make a fried egg and sausage patty and throw a slice of cheese on it. When I went they were out of hero rolls bread which is what 90% of their sandwich's come on so I got the Catcher on the Rye. I ordered the double which is double the price of the regular sandwich so at $14,50 for the sandwich I thought it was going to be huge. Paid about $19 for the combo with chips and drink.
