Here's the thing. They have a nice vibe going for a chain, the theme is cool, the menu SOUNDS great, and in theory I ought to just love this place. Only I don't, because the food does not inspire. It doesn't live up to the rest of the experience, or to the price. Portions are not huge. Flavor is not big. Ingredients are neither particularly fresh/flavorful nor particularly unique. At the price they charge, there's just no particular reason to go here rather than anywhere else. I hate to say it, but the nearby Subway actually makes a better sandwich for the same price, and faster, too. Sure, you won't get all the decor and the firemen's uniforms hanging on the wall. I have to start of my review by talking about the coke machine they have where you can formulate any drink with a number of different coke product flavors. Such a great idea! Touch screen makes it easy but would really help if they put up some kind of instructions on how to make the machine work more effectively.  Maybe it being my first time it took me a little longer to figure out then it should have but once i sat down i noticed quite a few other people having trouble with it.  I ordered a cherry limeade that came out a lil to sweet. Instead of dumping it out my sister suggested squeezing some limes in it. That did the trick. The sandwiches here are amazing! A little bit more spendy then the typical subway, blimpie etc. But worth every penny. My sister and i shared a turkey and bacon sub fully loaded with mayo, mustard, olives, bacon, ranch dressing, and onions.  The great was fresh but some of the other ingredients on it were not. Overall i would say the sandwich was a notch above the general sub shop.   With all that being said i really did like the way the set the restaurant up.  Its very clean and bright. The service is friendly.  Im not a huge fan of the location as sometimes its impossible to get out onto fairview or milwaukee so i tend to stay away from these types of places.  It does seem lately more and more menus are places higher then they use to be which i fell makes it more difficult to read. read more

Confession: I have a hard time loving sub places that don't offer much when it comes to bread choices. This is the case with Firehouse. White or wheat just really doesn't cut it. As far as my sandwich, it was pretty good, but mostly because it's pretty hard to mess up ham and cheese when it's toasty warm. Overall, I was definitely happy with my meal over the other options nearby, but not something I'll be craving. The one thing the place has going for it is the look and feel. Very clean, lots of cool firefighter stuff, and they donate gear to first responders so that made me feel a little better about the price of my average sub. The workers were nice, but seemed like it took a little long to make my sandwich that really only had 4 toppings. read more

This is my first time to any Firehouse location and I was not disappointed. I ordered the Smokehouse Beef and Cheddar footlong and it was quite tasty and flavorful. With chips, drink and a pickle it was about $12, a little high for Provo but on par with other similar places. I will return to try some more of the popular sandwiches. You know a lot of people told me this place is the best if you want to nice hot sandwich. Personally I think it's a little overpriced for the product that you receive, but all in all it's not a bad experience or place to eat. They do a pretty nice job with sandwiches. The staff are ok. No one that really knocked my socks off with how great they were, but they got the job done. It was a fine experience. I would go back again if I was in the mood for a decent sandwich, and wanted to pay a little extra for it. read more

If you are looking for a substitute sub to your subpar subway experience, firehouse is one option. It's good sauce drips on your fingers but is tasty, and is expensive for just like a sandwich but it's also good and different. So I love this restaurant for a few reasons! 1 - Great sandwiches, on great bread, using great meats and cheeses! I love the Hook and Ladder and the Engineer. You really can't go wrong though! Oh and their pickles! Yum! 2 - Great service! This is probably my favorite sub place. The food is always high quality and great tasting, however, the service is the absolute worst. The employees walk around dazed confused when you're waiting on your food. They are all slow as molasses. Sometimes I wanna jump back there and make it myself they're so slow. Food is good but at this particular location they don't allow anyone to walk in unless they're picking up and order. So I ordered online and they said it would take 40 minutes to be ready, which seemed fairly long considering it was not prime time and I saw no other customers, but half an hour after ordering it I walked it and it took a few minutes for anyone to come see me and they hadn't started making it. It wasn't busy at all. I was the only order that I could tell. I generally don't like writing bad reviews, but they required that I paid before hand, then took over half an hour to start making it. Plus I've seen many people walk up to the door and turn away because of how stupid it is that they can't order inside. I don't even know if this rule is because of COVID because there are no mask mandates or anything. So this is more so just advice to the company that the way this provo location is being run is horrid. read more

The food was great as always! The staff there was less than happy to be there and couldn't have looked more uninterested in the job. Stood in the ordering line for a water cup while waiting for my online order, the cashier did not acknowledge me or the other customers in front of me, they eventually walked out. When it was my turn he did not say one word to me and just handed me a cup and walked away. I'm amazed people find their subs good. I tried their Club on a Sub and it was the driest, most boring, unremarkable sub I have ever had. Putting a sub in a toaster doesn't suddenly make it a great sub. I complained to management about it and they shrugged it off. I love firehouse subs, but not a huge fan of this location. I prefer the Orem location because the staff ask about what you want on your sub (I don't like onions or mustard on my Hook and Ladder) whereas here, they just assume you want everything. I think that's because this location is new and the staff are all still learning. I like not having to drive to Orem to go to Firehouse Subs, so I've been to this location a few times until I noticed that the sandwiches at the Orem location always seem to be made better. Open, airy comfortable atmosphere. Appears immaculate. Friendly staff. Fast sandwich prep at lunch hour. Great to go containers and execution. My biggest hint of what yumminess was inside? Four cop cars parked outside. Food was delish. I got the meatball on wheat, hubby got corned beef on white. Both to go, both held up nicely. My only complaint is the bread. I have had good experiences here before, but went in tonight to get a sandwich to go. The sign on the door clearly says that it is open until 10 pm. I arrived at 9:48, hoping to hop in really quick for a to go order, but the door was locked. An employee stood just in front of the door with a broom in his hand, and just looked at me with a blank stare. I pointed to the posted hours of business, but he just shrugged and walked away. I have worked in the service industry before, and I understand that it can be frustrating when customers come in right before closing time and sit around forever. I, however, was a single person, 12 minutes before closing, and the door was already locked. The chairs were all set up on the tables already. They workers were jonesing to get out of there. I get it. But that doesn't excuse poor customer service. You are getting paid to provide a service. Don't forget that. read more
