    Pastrami burger and fries
    Cade T.

I might've driven past this location over a thousand times, but this was my first time eating here. It was packed, which is a good sign. The service was great and the restaurant was clean despite there being so many people in the restaurant. The food was way better than I expected for fast food. It wasn't cheap, but it didn't taste cheap either. Definitely left satisfied!

Pretty good burger joint with the famous Utah pastrami burger! We felt like our food was good overall, just didn't blow us out of the water. I guess that's the difference you would expect from a fast food joint and a nicer sit down restaurant. We got pastrami burgers with cheddar cheese and sweet potato fries. I wish the fries were more heavily seasoned, but my husband really liked their sauce! I would be back if I'm ever in the mood for a pastrami burger specifically, but otherwise I probably won't put it in the regular burger rotation.

Gross Greek Salad, wilted brown lettuce chunks

So, I ordered a Greek Salad at a burger joint. Maybe this is my fault I should have ordered an Apollo Burger at Apollo Burger, but I am not eating meat right now. I also ordered a fried zucchini appetizer which honestly was delicious and the ranch was great too hence the 3 star rating because 5 stars for the zucchini and negative 1 star for the salad. Also, totally ate all of them which is why no pic. The services was efficient, I left a 20% tip going through the drive through. The moral of the story is, don't order a salad at a restaurant known for it's burgers. This meal was a very sad way to spend $18 on lunch.

    Impossible burger? A pleasant surprise!

I am a little embarrassed to say that is a long time Utah County resident this was my first visit to Apollo Burger. It is national cheeseburger day though and we thought it was only appropriate. I decided to try the impossible burger. I've seen them in a few other places and had never tried it. I'm a fan of black bean burgers or a variety of veggie burgers. I have to say that the impossible burger is by far the closest thing to real meat between a bond that I've ever tried. Apollo Burger has a great menu, with tons of classic options. It's been a staple for decades and now I see why.

They've changed something... and it's not for the better :/

Not really my fave, I mean, I'll eat it if I HAVE to... but I'd rather drive an hour to SLC for Crown Burger. The restaurant is small, our party of six luckily snagged a corner booth and squished in, elbows to elbows. I guess take my word for it though, because when I got there there were tons of cars and hardly a place to park. So maybe my taste buds are a little different than the rest of Provo? Food was honestly meh, and that's saying something because I'm pretty easily satisfied by any type of burger. The onion rings were burned and gnarly, fried overcooked, corn dog tiny and cold.. man just not yummy all around. The two stars are for the service though, the employees did a great job and made sure the tables were cleaned and our food was brought out correctly. TIPS & TRICKS: * More parking is located in the back. * Junior Apollo is a better bet than a regular if you're not incredibly hungry.

But then came the steak, which was flat-out the best I've had in years. No notes. Here's the thing though, I'm not a gnocchi person. Never have been. Our server talked me into it anyway, and I'm genuinely grateful. It's a short rib and stew situation with gnocchi that somehow hits every note perfectly. Total convert now. And the s'mores pie to close out the night? Simply perfect. Don't skip it. The service was great too, our server clearly knew the menu inside and out and steered us exactly right.

However, we did have one drink server where we had some issues with, but our main waitress was lovely. For starters, our table shared the baked ricotta, balsamic glazed brussel sprouts, and bread rolls with honey and butter. The brussel sprouts were good, but the bread rolls were my favorite! They were so incredibly soft and pillowy. They honestly didn't even need the bread and butter! I was most excited for the baked ricotta, but unfortunately it was a disappointment for me. Ricotta is a very mild cheese to begin with, but I tasted absolutely zero flavor from it and it was mostly just adding a textural element to the bread. The fig walnut guanciale jam was overpoweringly sweet and the guanciale was also nonexistent. Overall, what I expected to be a flavorful combination, fell pretty flat and bland for me. Onto the main, I got to try the Block burger and the house made gnocchi. The burger was a standard burger, nothing too crazy. I was surprised the patty was actually moist because it was cooked well done. The same jam from the baked ricotta was used, so wasn't a big fan of it because again the overwhelmingly sweet didn't do much to elevate the burger. I also missed any flavor from the truffle cheese sauce. So it was a pretty average burger. My gnocchi definitely tasted better than it looked. Another friend also got the same dish and it looked like they just split our portions in half and served it on two separate plates. In general, I wasn't a big fan of this dish. The braised short rib was very tender, but the whole plate sat in a pool of salty sauce. I couldn't really make out any other flavors. The scoop of crème fraiche tasted exactly like sour cream and was not the consistency that I expected. The gnocchi's were made well, but I prefer mine a little firmer. However, this is complete personal preference. Overall, service was good, but food fell severely short of what I expected. I was so excited for all of these elevated flavors and ingredients, but, sadly, none of them came through.

I recommend joining the waitlist in advance. It's tough to choose from such a wide range of delicious options, but my go-to pick is always the Mixed Berry Dutch Baby, Baby! The berry syrup and cream cheese topping set it apart from other breakfast places. We also had the Classic Breakfast Special, with crispy bacon cut thick to perfection. The interior is one of the most distinctive things about the place. Nearly all the Art Deco furnishings, the booths, mahogany paneling, black glass counter, and light fixtures, were salvaged from Lamb's Grill, a Salt Lake City restaurant that had operated since 1919 before closing in 2017. Eating here feels a bit like dining inside a piece of Utah history. The service is usually excellent, and you can tell they take the motto behind their name seriously: "True service is true religion." This visit, our waitress did seem in a rush to turn the table, but the quality of the food made it easy to overlook. Worth noting: they run a Second Chances charity that supports people in recovery from addiction, those reintegrating into society after incarceration, and folks rebuilding after financial hardship or other life challenges. It's a meaningful mission, and it's part of what makes this place feel different from your average breakfast spot.

When I reminded them that they are in violation of the Americans With Disabilities Act, the manager, Mirta Solis just shrugged and said that's the policy. However, it is 50°, I'm dressed in shorts and a T-shirt, and I would be uncomfortably chilly having to sit outside. Regardless of my comfort, this is still of course, a violation of the Americans With Disabilities Act. Service dog handlers beware, this is not a restaurant in compliance with the ADA. I will be filing a complaint with the department of justice, if this happens to you, I highly recommend you do the same.

Now for the not-so-good. We usually call ahead because we have a few family members with food allergies. We called ahead and everything sounded kopacetic. We arrived and ordered our food. One member of our 6 person party ate a couple of fries (which she asked about ahead of time due to her allergies) and she noticed something different about the fries. We asked one of the workers if they put something on the fries because they were crispy on the outside. The worker said "I don't think so." We asked if he could check to be sure so he went to ask. He came back and said "it's just crispy coating." So again we asked "can you tell us what is in the crispy coating because we are trying to avoid an allergic reaction." He replied "it's just crispy coating I don't know what's in it." So we asked "is there anyway you can find out what's in the crispy coating?" He replied "there is definitely a way to find out." He goes to the back...again. When he returns he says, "we fry the fries in a fryer with our chicken tenders. I would suggest not eating the fries." His suggestion is well-taken but we still don't know what's in the 'crispy coating.' When we were ordering, one member in my group asked for the two meat plate with brisket and pork ribs. The menu says "pork ribs." The worker said "We don't have pork ribs. We have ribs." So ribs it was. Giving a little room for grace, he was a young man who seemed to be new. BUT if you are at the cash register taking orders, you really should know what's on your menu. As for the food, it was disappointing. Portions were small. For the two meat plate with brisket and sausage, I was given one piece of brisket and a small hot link. To be fair, the menu says "8 oz" for the two meat plate so you kind of know what you're getting. When the order comes out, it looks very small. The brisket was a little on the dry side. The hot link was tasty but small. Buyer beware. TLDR; not coming back

For food, the calmari frita it was called but it was squid, some kind of white fish, shrimp along with fried, thinly sliced red onion, bell pepper and jalapeño. GET THIS, one of the best things of the night! When you do get it, make sure you get bites of the chopped veggie mixture that's buried under all the fried goodness, thank me later. Main course, we got the Parillada de Buenos Aires, this is where the issues start, our waiter said we were able to sub out a couple of the items on platter as tripe and sweetbreads (the glands of a veal if you weren't aware) are not things we enjoy. So we swapped them out for a chicken milenesa and a grilled chicken breast. It also came with 1 each of the sides that were pretty basic, and honestly lacked flavor in comparison (rice, potato salad, house salad, mashed potatoes and roasted veggies). Then the meats it comes with, a half chicken, a 12 oz skirt steak, 4 short ribs, some other grilled cut of meat (menu doesn't specify what kind) and a variety of sausages. The waiter, through super nice, totally messed up the substitutions. He brought them out but from the time ordered to the time we ate was about an hour, and for the correct food to come out took even longer. The food itself was pretty good, meats had great flavor and the milenesa when it came out was hot and juicy. The meats didn't need any dipping sauce because they were that well seasoned. Dessert we had the lemon "cheesecake" which was just a lemon cake with a cream cheese type frosting, not at all what you think of with a cheesecake.
