Orem, Utah is filled with all kinds of mom and pop restaurants. Apollo Burger is one of them. I ordered a BLT, Fries and coke. There menu didn't offer a combo meal option so this was a cool $11 meal. Not really worth it. The BLT was fatty bacon with super hard, chewy rinds, but hey it is bacon. The fries were good. The fry sauce is bomb. Honestly, I could overlook the mediocrity of the order only for the mere fact that where else can you order a BLT in a drive thru?? But for $11? Hmmm not too sure about the value. The cashiers weren't friendly, maybe even borderline rude. And it was 8pm at night with hardly any cars in the drive thru line compared to the long lines they usually are slammed with. So I'm not sure what was up with the attitude? Long day? Customer service is pretty much everything to me when it comes to drive thru dining so that dinged this place 3 stars off for me. I live around the corner from here, and 4/5 experiences are awful. The staff is incredibly rude and the food is usually soggy. The only plus to this place are the fries and sauce. Save yourself the anguish and go to Callie's next door. Far more worth the money and time. This last experience will be my final. Especially since they just raised their prices. Ordered online and it says you can pick up your order through the drive thru or at the counter inside. So we went through the drive thru and, apparently, they made up some dumb rule that "when it's busy, you have to go inside." So I went inside and they openly admitted they just didn't make the food. So the apparent manager told me I had to do the refund on my phone. . .what the. . .I told her there was no way for me to do that. So she messes with her computer and just turns it to me and it says she cancelled my order. No receipt, no proof of refund, nothing. Worst customer service ever!!!!!! read more

Apollo is one of my go-to reataurants when I want fast food. My usual is the Athenian Burger, it has a different taste, but it grew on me. It has a grilled bell pepper with a layer of fresh cheese (not sure exactly what kind). The portobello burger is good too if you like mushrooms, and finally the gyro is great if you like lamb and pita bread. It comes with a lot of onions so if you dont like onions, just ask them not to put them. I did try the NY steak sandwich (real stake inside- you tell them how done you want it) and it was pretty good, although I still like the Athenian burger the most. The fries are also super good! Really good burgers, the shake is as basic as it comes it's basically chocolate or strawberry milk with vanilla ice cream I could make it at home. The bathrooms are dirty and the whole place smells like stale fry oil. The tables weren't cleaned off at all and they assigned us to a table. We had to clean it ourselves to feel comfortable. Awful service!!! By not leaving a tip, the girl who was attending changed her attitude and went to tell her partner who was preparing the food. The hamburgers were delivered to us with the cold bread, and when I asked for ketchup for the fries she told me in a bad actitud to check it because if there was in the container, to which I told her that I had already checked it and that is why I was asking her, but she insisted in the same way until one of her colleagues went and checked it and told her it's true there isn't... It's really impressive that the service you're paying for is conditioned to whether you tip or not... My family & I have been coming here for as long as I can remember, and the quality has stayed pretty much the same. The burgers are good, but the fries are the real reason to come here. The fries are perfectly fluffy on the inside, crispy on the outside, and BIG. They are about one step down from steak fries in thickness, and they are delicious. We also love their fry sauce (which they now sell in a big bottle!) and we end up putting it on the burgers too. The portions are quite large, and the food is really tasty. I also think the milkshakes are amazing. Definitely come here if you want a better quality fast food burger. read more

If this place didn't have Coke Zero and a very friendly staff, this rating would be lower. As it turns out, they have both and in a decent enough mix. Fries were also solid, as usual. Consider it a 2.5. In my last review for one of these places, I noted this franchise has fallen way off, mostly due to the changes to their burgers, which I assume are an attempt to differentiate themselves from all their zillions of other Greek-related burger cousins or because of increasing overhead from all their recently opened locations. The changes have included a poor leaf lettuce, rather than shredded (I can live with this change) and a HUGE downgrade in bacon from the awesome thick-cut strips they had (which I can't live with). I went with another of their specialties, steering away from the laughable YBW and going instead for the portobello burger. If you've ever had poorly cooked portobellos, you already know that it's enough to make you want to stay away from all mushrooms altogether forever, while the well-done ones can have you seeking it out at all turns. This is one of the former and it's almost like they just took a pass at cooking it. This sort of half-assing forced me to eject about half of the mushroom out, as it was just vile, disgusting and nasty and obviously inedible. It's enough that I have very little inclination to ever eat at one of these again until they get themselves back together. Since I just reviewed Crown Burger and mentioned Apollo I figure I better review it now as well. I have been to this Apollo many times and always have had an ok meal, hence the rating. Maybe a 3.5. Anyway, one thing that I did notice that was missing from Crown Burger's menu was a golden burger (This is what I get at Apollo 90% of the time). What is a Golden Burger? It is an Apollo/Crown Burger, but instead of a bun they put the burger and pastrami on Texas Toast which is buttered and thrown on the grill. It holds up much better then the bun they use on the Apollo/Crown burger. So maybe after writing both reviews, I would give a very slight edge to Apollo, just because of the Golden Burger. read more

This place feels as "Utah" to me as Mormons and big hair. It may not be, but my opinion is the only one that matters really. Amazing fries and fry sauces coming out your ears if you eat inside (limited quantity for the drive thru customers). The food selection is good and the quality is good in that I DONT CARE WHAT I PUT IN MY BODY AS LONG AS ITS TASTY AND FILLING sense of the word. My wife has perverse dreams about eating here, I have perverse nightmares after eating here. It IS greasy, but you do get lots of food and it is good albeit a gut bomb for sure. read more

The fries are solid and the best thing is they come with "fry sauce". To us Easterners (ie: People who live in the real world), fry sauce does not exist. It is a combination of equal parts ketchup and mayo, and down here in Utah, they LOVE the stuff on fries. Well, I don't know why this place's fry sauce tastes so good but it's wicked good on fries, man. I was excited they opened one in my home town. However.... Horrible first experience, girl rushed my order at drive through and I was the only car, didn't even ask what drink I wanted either. Got to the window and paid and told the guy I wanted a coke with my order. I get home 3 minutes away, and there is enough onions on my burger for 3 burgers (I asked for NO onions) and my burger was as cold as sitting out for 30 minutes. Very let down. I have long-loved this restaurant and used to come here often. It closely resembled Burger Supreme in Provo and Crown Burger in Salt Lake, voted best burger in Utah, but I loved Apollo Burger for their amazing fry sauce. They still have thick, amazing fries with the same, great fry sauce but they no longer offer shredded lettuce on their burgers, and give you loose leaf green lettuce that may look good, but tastes NASTY. It completely RUINS the burger. :( Why they had to change the lettuce, no one knows. But it has turned me off of their burgers forever. I occasionally make the mistake of ordering from here, only to remember why it isn't great anymore. I asked the staff if they could provide any shredded lettuce to replace on my burger, but they said they don't carry it anymore. If you want the same amazing taste as what Apollo Burger used to be, go down the street to Burger Supreme in Provo. read more

I was hoping this place was better than it was. First when I was ordering in the drive thru the lady taking my order was kind of rude when I asked for ranch and marinara for my cheese sticks. I guess I could only pick one.... spending $24 isn't enough to get two kinds of dipping sauce. Speaking of.... The one star is because the mozzarella sticks were actually pretty good, a bit over breaded but still good. The Apollo burger wasn't that good in my opinion. Thrown together, lettuce was extremely wilted. Flavor just was off. The pastrami was very fatty which made certain bites disgusting. The fries were cooked all the way and tasted like raw potatoes and the soda.... the soda was the most flat nasty coke I've ever had in my life. Like they had poured it from a 2 liter that had sat out in the hot sun for weeks. This place is going down hill fast. The food is getting bad (Soggy) and the service is the rudest in the valley. Today I went through the drive thru and had alot of problems. I couldn't hear the lady on the speaker taking orders....I asked her to repeat what she was saying and there was a major timing issue with her pressing her mike button. Only half of what she is saying is coming through the mic. She got mad at me for asking her to repeat , nicely by the way. I asked for 1 additional fry sauce since they only gave me 1. She freaked out and asked for .25 for extra ones. I didn't have cash I paid with debit card. They have always given me 2, if you go inside they give you 4. Then my drink lid was too lose and coke spilled all over me as she handed me the drink. I had to take my shirt off at work and rinse in sink so I didnt have stains down the front of me. somethings fishy around here.... I have fond memories about this place ... but last sat we stopped in ... I got a fish sandwich.. it smelled real fishy ( indicating how old it is) the tarter sauce was lumpy and sour... when I spoke to the owner he said , " I don't know how it could be bad it comes frozen and goes into the fridge to you. and the tartar sauce, its only mayonnaise it can be on the drainboard forever , pointed to the cook top and the sauce right next to that.. sayings its only mayo it doesn't need to go into the fridge... and if you get food poisoning it wont come to you for 3 days, and wont stay long....so what if its lumpy....its fine..."
