This place despite being in a gas station has prompt, friendly service and the place is always clean. Been eating keto lately so I get the crew (deli) breakfast sandwich and throw away the bun. The worker was super friendly even though we came so close to closing time. The tables and eating area where also very well taken care of. The prices are more pricey but the sandwiches are worth the wait. Especially the crew sandwich, definitely worth the price. read more

Gandolfo's is highly underrated. Been going since mid 90s in college. Recently moved back after 15 years in Bay Area and Gandolfo's is still amazing. The bread is perfect mid thickness and softness. Egg sandwiches have incredible poppy seed breads. Pro tip: add BBQ to turkey egg sandwich. Much better than JJ, Subway, Firehouse, etc read more

I tried both the Little Italy and the Pastrami on Rye. I would not order either one of them again. The Little Italy was caked with onions (on both sides) and there was not much flavor aside from that. The Pastrami on Rye was a bit better, but I was not a fan of the mustard. read more

1/10 this spot is a joke. I ordered online, Hampton Turkey sandwich which is suppose to include Turkey, Swiss, lettuce, tomato, avocado, mayo, on a HERO roll served COLD or HOT. I asked for simple substitute of pepper jack cheese (received no cheese at all), did get the onions, but no avocado which was on the sandwich description... It was my first time to a Gandolfo's and may not be the best first impression since this one was in a gas station. The service at the front was helpful and gave me some recommendations. He also waved people goodbye and came by and asked how my sandwich tasted. Service was the best part. The sandwich was better than I expected for being in a gas station. I prefer not to eat inside the gas station but this was pretty good. read more

Their Crew breakfast sandwich is my favorite, no matter the time of day! It's huge and can usually be split between 2 people, or if you want to be full most of the day, then you can eat it yourself! Gandolfo's has come a long ways from when the original location opened in the basement of a building at the intersection of State and Center in Provo. That was a lot of years ago, and just a fantastic location. These days, I tend to forget they exist because I'm not in love with eating it in the gas station here. So, I only come when I need something different. Then COVID hit and I'm doing more drive through. The online ordering and pickup works really smooth. The sandwiches are still excellent. They carry those meats you don't find at a Subway, and do at a deli. Not that I've eaten at Subway in many years. These days this is a regular stop. Go through the drive through at the pharmacy next door (I'm old and go there a lot) and finish with a nice sandwich to take home. read more

Oh Gandolfo's, how I love you. Nothing compares to Their breakfast sandwiches. They are perfection. To be honest, I don't think I have ever actually had anything from their lunch menu, I always order breakfast, even for lunch. Their rolls are just so soft, the eggs cooked just right, perfectly cheesy, heaven. My usual go to is the upstate. I have since convinced a few people to try it and they all agree, it's quite the amazing breakfast sandwich. Sadly, I no longer live in Utah, but whenever I am in town I happily eat breakfast here at least a few times. If you live here and haven't had their breakfast you are seriously missing out. read more

Food is typically good. I forgot to ask if they had a certain product in stock which they run out of a lot. The drive thru person failed to tell me that they were out of the product. I didn't want the order after that so I asked for a refund. He gave me a refund, but shit the window and failed to give me a receipt. I had to sit there and wait until they finally came back. Then I had to wait for them to learn how to print out my refund receipt. So food reputation still in tact. Service reputation in trouble. read more

When my wife and I first discovered Gandolfo's 25 years ago, it was incredible. It was a taste of NY in UT and we ate there three times a week. We used to sit and chat with the owner in the old Basement location in Provo while we ate our sandwiches. Later after we had kids, we used to visit the cool downtown location with them every time we visited our friends and family in UT. Our kids grew up on it and loved it. A few years ago during the recession, we noticed that their downtown SLC location went from having a long line during lunch to having no line to having few tables full and removing beloved menu items. Then, we heard that both of their original locations had closed along with many of the franchise locations that had popped up and all that were left were a few locations that were housed in Chevron stations in UT. there is a standalone in a strip mall in Bellingham, WA that is very good but most of what's left in UT where it started is gas station locations. I hadn't eaten there in several years but we ordered our usual favorites and ate them. the service was fine and friendly. The gas station vibe was sad after their awesome original locations. the sandwiches were OK but that's the best I can say. I don't think they blend the flavors as well as they used to. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great. Frankly, at this point I think that Firehouse subs has a better offering and if you live in a place where the Cheba Hut exists, they definitely do. I probably will just pass on this in the future read more

I had a coupon for Gandolfo's today but I never go to there. I got the club met and it was amazing. It had so much meat on it And the hero roll was delicious! We got a piece of cherry cheesecake which was to die for and it was only $2.50. That's a bargain. It would have been $6 anywhere else. I am definitely adding this place to my lunch time lineup. I'm at Gandolfo's today and just wanted to confirm what I said above. I had another club met and it was awesome. There are some good coupons on 2 for 1 that give you a great deal. I have found the custom sandwiches work the best for me. Hot pastrami on a hoagie with yellow mustard, lettuce, onions and extra pickles. If you don't see something on the menu have them custom it for you. My wife always gets a lunch special. read more

We are planning a NYC trip and I was looking at Katz's Deli as a place we would eat at while there. This made me hungry for pastrami so I thought I'd try out Gandolfos with a coupon I had. I got the pastrami on rye with Russian sauce and the flavor was amazing! It was one of the best sandwiches I've had in a while. Very Juicy and delicious. My wife got the Godzilla and while she enjoyed hers she was jealous of mine after we traded a bite for a bite. 4 stars because the meat was not stacked as high as their pictures online lead you to believe. (EDIT - the meat was not stacked as high because I got the "half" version with my coupon. I recently went back and got the "full" pastrami on rye and it had a ton of meat! Updated to 5 stars) But the taste was great. Try it out, you won't be disappointed! Also, I saw some of the other reviews talking about a rude, older, manager type. I was served by an older, manager type today and he was not rude at all. In fact he was very friendly and greeted everyone there (about 7 people were there when I was there) with a smile. read more

I've been coming for years. Gandolfo's a staple in my diet. My favorite sandwich is the Upstate. It will rock your pants off. You tastebuds will splode with the wonderful combination of butter, salt, pepper, eggs and sausage. It's the most joyous breakfast sandwich on this planet. As for lunch. I really dig the Urban Cowboy and the Empire State. Both are so flavorful. Love it with some hot sauce. read more

Another friend also got the same dish and it looked like they just split our portions in half and served it on two separate plates. In general, I wasn't a big fan of this dish. The braised short rib was very tender, but the whole plate sat in a pool of salty sauce. I couldn't really make out any other flavors. The scoop of crème fraiche tasted exactly like sour cream and was not the consistency that I expected. The gnocchi's were made well, but I prefer mine a little firmer. However, this is complete personal preference. Overall, service was good, but food fell severely short of what I expected. I was so excited for all of these elevated flavors and ingredients, but, sadly, none of them came through.

Main course, we got the Parillada de Buenos Aires, this is where the issues start, our waiter said we were able to sub out a couple of the items on platter as tripe and sweetbreads (the glands of a veal if you weren't aware) are not things we enjoy. So we swapped them out for a chicken milenesa and a grilled chicken breast. It also came with 1 each of the sides that were pretty basic, and honestly lacked flavor in comparison (rice, potato salad, house salad, mashed potatoes and roasted veggies). Then the meats it comes with, a half chicken, a 12 oz skirt steak, 4 short ribs, some other grilled cut of meat (menu doesn't specify what kind) and a variety of sausages. The waiter, through super nice, totally messed up the substitutions. He brought them out but from the time ordered to the time we ate was about an hour, and for the correct food to come out took even longer. The food itself was pretty good, meats had great flavor and the milenesa when it came out was hot and juicy. The meats didn't need any dipping sauce because they were that well seasoned. Dessert we had the lemon "cheesecake" which was just a lemon cake with a cream cheese type frosting, not at all what you think of with a cheesecake.

The culinary genius behind the Provo, Orem, American Fork, and Pleasant Grove locations has created a true delicatessen of NYC caliber here in our own backyard. How does he get those kind of meats and other savory ingredients freshly available, and at such variety, day in and day out? The location is nice, located in northern Orem. The food is always good however last time the bun was a little on the stale side, not too bad, it was probably left over from the night before.
