Gandolfo's is highly underrated. Been going since mid 90s in college. Recently moved back after 15 years in Bay Area and Gandolfo's is still amazing. The bread is perfect mid thickness and softness. He also waved people goodbye and came by and asked how my sandwich tasted. Service was the best part. The sandwich was better than I expected for being in a gas station. Good food, good staff. I enjoy their breakfast sandwiches and usually grab one whenever I go by one of their delis.

Their Crew breakfast sandwich is my favorite, no matter the time of day! It's huge and can usually be split between 2 people, or if you want to be full most of the day, then you can eat it yourself! The Crew is 3 eggs, bacon, sausage, melted American cheese, salt, pepper on a hero roll with butter. Yum! read more

Gandolfo's has come a long ways from when the original location opened in the basement of a building at the intersection of State and Center in Provo. That was a lot of years ago, and just a fantastic location. These days, I tend to forget they exist because I'm not in love with eating it in the gas station here. So, I only come when I need something different. Then COVID hit and I'm doing more drive through. The online ordering and pickup works really smooth. The sandwiches are still excellent. They carry those meats you don't find at a Subway, and do at a deli. Not that I've eaten at Subway in many years. These days this is a regular stop. Go through the drive through at the pharmacy next door (I'm old and go there a lot) and finish with a nice sandwich to take home. read more

Oh Gandolfo's, how I love you. Nothing compares to Their breakfast sandwiches. They are perfection. To be honest, I don't think I have ever actually had anything from their lunch menu, I always order breakfast, even for lunch. Their rolls are just so soft, the eggs cooked just right, perfectly cheesy, heaven. My usual go to is the upstate. I have since convinced a few people to try it and they all agree, it's quite the amazing breakfast sandwich. Sadly, I no longer live in Utah, but whenever I am in town I happily eat breakfast here at least a few times. Food is typically good. I forgot to ask if they had a certain product in stock which they run out of a lot. The drive thru person failed to tell me that they were out of the product. I didn't want the order after that so I asked for a refund. He gave me a refund, but shit the window and failed to give me a receipt. I had to sit there and wait until they finally came back. Then I had to wait for them to learn how to print out my refund receipt. So food reputation still in tact. Service reputation in trouble. read more

When my wife and I first discovered Gandolfo's 25 years ago, it was incredible. It was a taste of NY in UT and we ate there three times a week. We used to sit and chat with the owner in the old Basement location in Provo while we ate our sandwiches. Later after we had kids, we used to visit the cool downtown location with them every time we visited our friends and family in UT. Our kids grew up on it and loved it. A few years ago during the recession, we noticed that their downtown SLC location went from having a long line during lunch to having no line to having few tables full and removing beloved menu items. Then, we heard that both of their original locations had closed along with many of the franchise locations that had popped up and all that were left were a few locations that were housed in Chevron stations in UT. there is a standalone in a strip mall in Bellingham, WA that is very good but most of what's left in UT where it started is gas station locations. I hadn't eaten there in several years but we ordered our usual favorites and ate them. the service was fine and friendly. The gas station vibe was sad after their awesome original locations. the sandwiches were OK but that's the best I can say. I don't think they blend the flavors as well as they used to. It wasn't bad but it wasn't great. Frankly, at this point I think that Firehouse subs has a better offering and if you live in a place where the Cheba Hut exists, they definitely do. We are planning a NYC trip and I was looking at Katz's Deli as a place we would eat at while there. This made me hungry for pastrami so I thought I'd try out Gandolfos with a coupon I had. I got the pastrami on rye with Russian sauce and the flavor was amazing! It was one of the best sandwiches I've had in a while. Very Juicy and delicious. My wife got the Godzilla and while she enjoyed hers she was jealous of mine after we traded a bite for a bite. 4 stars because the meat was not stacked as high as their pictures online lead you to believe. (EDIT - the meat was not stacked as high because I got the "half" version with my coupon. I recently went back and got the "full" pastrami on rye and it had a ton of meat! Updated to 5 stars) But the taste was great. Try it out, you won't be disappointed! Also, I saw some of the other reviews talking about a rude, older, manager type. I was served by an older, manager type today and he was not rude at all. In fact he was very friendly and greeted everyone there (about 7 people were there when I was there) with a smile. read more

I've been coming for years. Gandolfo's a staple in my diet. My favorite sandwich is the Upstate. It will rock your pants off.
