ive been wanting to come here forever, and finally had the chance to have sunday brunch here this past sunday. it was packed by 11:30 AM, and put our party of 2 down for a 30-40 minute wait for first available seating. 5 minutes later, they called out table for 2 at the counter and we jumped on it. sweet. its much larger than i had expected, very long, and everyone was enjoying their food and i couldnt wait. as an eggs benedict lover, i went with the special of the day, eggs blackstone. bacon, tomatoes and mushroom. the brother ordered the huevos rancheros. both were about $10 or so. there are pitchers of water at the counter as well as the tables, very nice, as all the workers were constantly hustling and bustling. was kind of neat to see the atmosphere from the counter. the food came out shortly, and the hashed potatoes didn't look as enticing (shredded potatoes) but they were DARN good! i wish i had more! it also came with a bowl of fruit. the benedict was pretty good, lots of bacon and mushroom but i wasnt digging it as much as i thought i would have. my brother's huevos rancheros on the other hand was amazing! luckily he shared. at first i thought this place was a bit overrated, or maybe i was expecting too much, but then again i realized, there's not a whole lot of good breakfast places to eat at in the south bay. and remembering the huevos rancheros and the potatoes definitley upped my stars. would go back for that meal. read more

(3.5 stars) We were looking for a good breaksfast spot away from the usual downtown San Jose Area. Stumbled across this on Yelp. The place gets super busy! The great thing about it, as you wait they have coffee and ice tea outside as you wait to be seated. Nice location. Our wait was 35 minutes, not bad esp if your the type that doesnt complain about a beautiful day and dont mind hanging out. (we all know we've been with that one person that can complain about a long wait... ) lol. The menu was a handful. Once there is too much to choose from I find myself changing my order 5x before i actually realize i'm sticking with the first order. HA! Our waitress was polite, but judging how busy it was, i wasnt expecting speedy service. But when she had the chance to swing by and check on us, she did. I ordered the "All Meat" Omelet - Ham, bacon, sausage, mushrooms, onions, diced tomatoes, cheddar-jack cheese, sour cream & chives (comes with hash browns and a bagel) - Really good. Also, their blueberry pancakes.. a bit dry at first, but you have to drench it with syrup to make it taste good. LOL. All in all a good place to eat a sit down breakfast. Stacks is my favorite place in South Bay to have brunch. Get pancakes or egg benedict. Also they have an amazing smoothie called The Sunshie Burst that is super good. The wait is generally 45 minutes to an hour, so be prepared to wait, but it's worth it. The service is always pleasant. I love coming here on Sunday's because of the farmer's market...all in all a fantastic way to spend a lazy Sunday. read more

One of my all time favorite breakfast places to go! I always get the lumberjack pancakes but swap the raisins for chocolate chips ahaha their blueberry compote is to die for! It's my absolute favorite! They make it themselves so it's incomparable! The portion is also huge! the short stack should be good enough to share if you end up getting something as heavy like an omlette or skillet. The pesto chicken omlette and the crab omlette are both delicious! I also ask for both with just egg whites. I eally like these omlettes because they have so much in them and are filling. I love thier hot chocolate too! Perfect for mornings :) There is also self-serve coffee as you wait. Honestly everything on this menu is good so just go for it! We had brunch in the outdoor seating and the food and service was amazing! We had a blt and the triple deck club with some pancakes and that blt was one of the best I've ever had, crunchy bacon, good fries, side salad and pickle it was so good we forgot to take a photo! our server Miriam was so nice, helpful, and fun to joke around with, everything came out quickly and the tables were nicely spaced out and sanitized. Bacon Waffle: I wanted to try this because I saw someone on Yelp praising it. I'm always a sucker for bacon. =) The waffle was okay. I was hoping it would have been crispier on the outside. It had good flavor with maple syrup on it. I liked the whole idea of sweet + savory. Coconut, Banana & Macademia Pancakes: These pancakes were massive. The width was the same as the huge plate it was on. These were great! It had the right amount of sweetness even BEFORE putting syrup on it. It's always great when a pancake tastes great on its own without having to put all this syrup on it. This is a must try! Crab Crepe: I wasn't sure what to expect since I don't usually eat savory crepes but it sounded interesting since it stressed it used REAL crab. This crepe was filled to the max with, yes, REAL crab and avocado and topped with hollandaise sauce. YUMMY! I'm glad I got to try this. The side of potatoes was also tasty. Made differently than most places. It wasn't exactly hash browns but weren't country potatoes. I've wanted to come here for quite some time and I finally made it for lunch today. We arrived about 12:15, we were politely greeted and asked if wanted to sit inside or outside. I don't really like sidewalk seating where cars and trucks roar by and smell up your meal. Needless to say we sat inside. Someone must have called in sick today because the service was rather slow. I had the Avocado burger and it was great and messy good, cooked just right. I was very happy with it. They also give you a small cup of fruit. However the fries were not very warm. They seemed like they may have sat for a while while they waited for the other meals to be ready at our table. Our waiter was polite but seemed kind of harried which is why I thought they may have been short handed today. So lunch was good , I'll have to try breakfast another time. This restaurant DOES NOT CARE ABOUT PEOPLE WHO HAVE ALLEGY! We had breakfast here this morning, my husband ordered gluten free raffle and he also doubled check with the waitress that it is gluten free. However, he developed allergic reaction after he had his meal. My father in law who were having breakfast with us also have diarrhea. We called the restaurant back, the manager whose name is Andres Hernandez did not even apologize after we told him what has happened. I asked for full refund of the meal. He simply told us unless we have the doctor's prove that the allergic and diarrhea are from the food they are having at the restaurant, otherwise they can not refund us. Seriously! This is absolutely not acceptable! This is not just the refund but how the restaurant treats people. I can call my credit card to dispute the charge, but I do not think this restaurant should run their business until they know how to cook their food correctly and how should they treat customers when they have allergic reaction. read more

First time here. Food was pretty good. Service is friendly, not necessarily speedy or efficient. we spent a lot of time waiting. We had a table outside - I liked that... sort of. Gorgeous day, so nice to be in the fresh air. People next to us had a dog with them... not so fond of that. It was slobbering all over the place, and the tables are kind of close together. I leave my dog at home, and don't care to dine with other people's animals. Food: it was good. between us, we had pancakes, waffle, eggs, sausage, bacon, etc. Everything was really good except the potatoes. They put chopped parsley in their hashbrowns, and chop it up stem and all. It doesn't look appealing cooked, and there was way too much. I LOVE potatoes with breakfast, but didn't end up eating much. When I came in with my friends and family, the place was packed and the wait list was long, which I didn't mind because it shows how much people loved this place. What ruined the experience was the ladies at the front and the entitled looking hmmm, maybe manager she was? She was the blonde lady not wearing uniform. I asked a simple question with kindness to each of them, attitude was my response. With me was also a friend who wasn't from America, and when she asked for a "container" to another worker, the worker was so rude and replied back "to go box???!" like my friend was stupid or something. We had a great brunch here. The two of us waited about 25 minutes for a table on a weekend day around 11am. There's plenty of seating inside and outside while waiting and they have a nice free coffee and tea station. After ordering the food took about another 20 minutes to arrive. Garden Crepe: really good crepe, the crepe skin was perfect. It's a huge plate since it comes with hash, as well as a bagel or toast or fruit Huevos Rancheros: also very tasty, with good but not overwhelming chorizo flavor. This was the first huevos rancheros that I had served on just regular soft tortilla. It kind of made the dish more of an open breakfast burrito. Banana Macademia Coconut Pancakes! : I loved that there was an option to get a single pancake since I always want egg dishes with brunch but also want a pancake for dessert! The pancake was amazing, perfectly light and fluffy with toasted coconut, crumbled macademia and sliced banana. One slice was huge and we didn't even finish it. Oh Stacks, how slow the minutes stack up as your waiting for a table here. When I think of a breakfast establishment, I usually think of the old fashiond fashioned place, with a name synonymous with "i jump." This time however I was treated to a nice change of pace and tried stacks. Came here on a Sunday at 12 and this place was packed. Expect around a 45 minute wait on weekends. I always love going to places like this where the the servers are nice, atmosphere is cozy, and the food is amazing. While the food here is good, service can be better. During my visit here, the feel generally felt rushed. Nonetheless, onto the interesting food. I got the Coconut Macadamia Nut and Banana Pancakes with a side of 2 eggs over easy. The Coconut Macademia Nut pancakes were pretty good but nothing close to life changing. It had a good proportion of coconut flakes, ripe bananas, pancake mix, and macadamia nuts. The eggs though, were probably the most disgusting eggs I have ever had. When the server came out with them, they were obviously undercooked. I didn't wanna make a scene considering I was on a date and all so I just hesitated and gulped it down. Just No. They need to make their eggs more crispy/cook it longer but other than that, this place is a solid breakfast place! read more

Horrible service. Our first time at Campbell location. Had a party of 5 including a 6 year old, with one person running 15 minutes behind. They refuse to sit us since our party is not complete. We tell them that we will order food right away for 5 people. A blank stare from manager as he tells me "we can't do it. that's how we always do it. " I get why this rule is there. You don't want a single person holding up a table. However, when 4 of 5 people are present AND will be ordering food for all 5 right away, sticking to the rule is just bad customer service. The result? Gave our money to Farmer market vendor for delicious home made food for 1/3 of the price of Stacks breakfast. Not going to Stacks again. read more

This review is based on their lunch menu as I have yet to try the meals they offer for breakfast. I came here on a Friday afternoon and was seated immediately. My first impression of the restaurant is that it is tiny but comfortable. They have outside seating available as well as tables, booths and counter seats. I ordered the honey Dijon chicken sandwich with fries. The plate that was brought out to me included this, a cup of fruit and a salad. First, the portions are huge so keep that in mind if you are looking for a light meal. On the plus side, I always love being able to make two meals out of one. The sandwich itself was enjoyable after I picked out the excessive amount of raw purple onion on the top. The honey mustard dripping off the sides made it pretty hard to eat but I would say that it's worth the struggle. I'm not a huge fan of the French fries. They are really thin, granted they take up half the plate, but I would rather have less, thicker cut fries. The fruit was fresh and tasty. I didn't really care for the salad either since it was a little bitter. The overall experience I had here was enjoyable minus the fact that while I was eating a fly was badgering me and landed on a piece of my fruit. Thankfully I managed to get rid of it before it could land on anything else but I'm confused as to how it got into the restaurant in the first place. There were no open doors or windows to my knowledge, so the bug issue should be monitored more carefully by the employees. I think the lunch menu is decent but nothing special. This place is PACKED. Opt for the counter line and snag the first pair of seats that become vacant, otherwise, be prepared to wait to be seated...especially on a weekend. I want to give this place a 3.5, but of course, Yelp doesn't have the half star option, so I'm rounding up. And I guess it's because I'm partial to the blueberry waffle that my SO and I shared towards the end of our meal. Yup. That blueberry waffle was an ice tipper. First off, since the name of this breakfast establishment is indeed "stacks" and I didn't end up ordering pancakes nor did my bf, I feel a little bad because I didn't get a true "Stacks* experience of trying out the pancakes. Otherwise, I might have given this place a better review if I came here to try what they are renown for. My bf did testify, however, that he was not a pancakes kind of guy, and said that when he did try the pancakes here, he thought it was the best he ever had. Safe to say, I will return someday to try the pancakes and adjust my rating of this place accordingly if it really is that spectacular of an experience. Anyways, the BF ordered the Mexican omelette and I ordered the bacon, mushroom, and avocado omelette. They give you "house potatoes" here which resemble hashbrowns (which were...meh...imo) and a bagel. I didn't like the hashbrowns and bagels as sides personally. Just doesn't cut it for me and I'm not impressed. It just didn't seem special to me...at all. The omelettes were alright...and small in size. I've had bigger and better omelettes elsewhere. Hence, my initial urge to give this place a 3 or 3.5 star. I was able to finish my omelette in a heartbeat and was anticipating the blueberry waffle that we opted to share. The blueberry waffle was pretty good, the blueberries and taste of the waffle was pretty good - though the waffle was a little heavier than I would have liked and not as crispy on the outside as I would have preferred. Eggs Benedict wasn't a good choice. Maybe I should have ordered pancakes at a place called Stacks. The eggs were a bit overcooked (solid inside) and the muffin was burned on the edges. The sauce was decent, and they gave a good serving of ham though. The potatoes were not worth eating. They are served shredded, and they were cold with no flavor to them. They also serve it in a really awkward bowl with a plate where you can't easily cut the Benedict or eat the potatoes (not that you would want to). We had a decent breakfast here this morning. I had blueberry wheat germ pancakes and they were delicious. My husband liked his skillet, my son said his eggs Benedict was just ok. What ruined it for us was that the service was horrible. I had to send my eggs back twice, once because the server "must have wrote it down wrong" (her words), and another because they came out over easy instead of over medium. It honestly wasn't a huge deal until the server said "honey, over medium means the whites are cooked, but the yolk is runny". I had been trying to show her that the whites were super runny, but not only did she not listen, she was so condescending. In fact, she was pretty rude the entire service. I was hoping the manager would ask us how our breakfast was as he rang us up, but he was kind of rude too! (Is it me?) On top of all this, she charged us for the eggs, and the price overall was $77 for four of us. It's not worth it to me to ever take my family here again. I'd rather make pancakes at home. read more

The wait was about 25 mins when we got there at 1 pm, after just finishing touring the Farmers Market. The service is excellent and I see them doing their job; taking orders, refilling water/coffee, serving fast, taking their bills to their table, etc. It's a cozy dine in, and the smell of pancakes rushes through your nostrils first thing. The portion was huge. The texture is all in there! The stringy coconut, the soft smushed banana filling, and the thick pancake batter. This was one big stack. One would've just done it for real. I couldnt finish my plate. It was on my last half of the second stack. Overall, the prices are good here. There is lots of varieties and the service is wonderful.
