Came to La Pizza Spot shortly after they opened and really enjoyed it! Aside from the food being good, the service was really thoughtful and attentive. It was a slower evening when we were in so everyone checked in on us and made sure we had what we needed. They even came by after our meal asking for our honest opinions and feedback on everything, it felt like they really wanted to listen and make sure they are providing the best food they could. To eat we got the meatball app, funguy pizza, and build your own pasta of Rigatoni with vodka sauce and beef Bolognese. This was more than enough food for two of us to share, and we ended up going home with leftovers of everything other than the meatball. I loved the build your own pasta section, it was also extremely reasonably priced at $10 with just the pasta and sauce, and $15 if you added a protein. For anyone who's a picky eater, this would be a great option. I saw a picture of the Rigatoni with vodka sauce and beef Bolognese that someone else had ordered, and I'm so glad we chose to do the same because it was really good! The funguy pizza was also delicious! Super flavorful, so many different flavors stood out on it from the mushrooms, to the thyme and lemon. We also got their house made ranch and hot honey for the pizza, both of which added some great flavor. My wife and I have many fantastic things to say about this place. Starting with the staff. They're awesome! Super nice and they always make sure you're feeling welcome and having a great time. The ambiance is delightful and makes you feel like you're having an Italian experience. The food... oh my gosh! We started with the stuffed shells, and they exploded with flavor in our mouths. We split the Funguy pizza, and it became more delicious with each bite. For dessert, we had the gelatotini, and it was amazing; the gelato was complemented by lady fingers, fresh cut strawberries, and topped with crushed pistachios, all served in a martini glass. Call Guy Fieri, because that's a one way trip to Flavor Town. We highly recommend this place. You'll have a fantastic time. read more

Unfortunately, the food was pretty average overall, and the pizza itself was honestly a little below average. The atmosphere also still feels almost identical to when it was Tostadas, so it came across more like a menu swap than a completely new dining experience. We came to La Pizza Spot on a Wed night. The restaurant had a few tables filled and a few people at the bar. We sat right away and requested to sit at the tables (we have bad memories of the booths being so close together that your knees hit the person across from you and your feet touch from when it was Tostada's). What was difficult for me to endure was the extremely strong smell of perfume in the corner we were sitting in. Almost as if someone spilled a bottle. I'm super sensitive to perfume and cologne so it was quite overwhelming. The staff was very nice and answered all our questions. They may need a scootch more training as the dishes were brought with no serving utensils and the appetizer plates were only upgraded to larger plates because we asked. I think maybe it was thought we were each eating one item and not sharing so it's understandable. Now to the nuts & bolts! We ordered two cocktails and they were made quite well. Could've been a little stronger but they were well balanced and tasty. The Amore is just that! It's really yummy if you like tart! The lemon and passion fruit really gave it a nice refreshing zing! The basil smash was also very good but a little confusing as it came with fresh mint leaves instead of basil. You could taste the basil in the drink but when you sipped it, you smelled the mint so I just took the mint out. I did take out the paper straw because we all know how terrible those are. The food! We ordered the rosemary foccacia that should really be called a rosemary roll. It was the shape of a roll, was smooth and quite crunchy on the exterior. Foccacia in the traditional sense is flat, dimpled and soft. This was still enjoyable and the sauce was very good, but it's a bit mislabeled. $7 for a large dinner roll is a bit steep but we appreciated the flavor, the sauce, and the topping. The meatball was a star. We copied someone else in the reviews and requested marinara and alfredo. The meatball was very flavorful, moist, not too much breading and hit the spot. The size was large for one person but no more than 2 people could share it. The mushroom ragu with the pappardelle noodle was what I was moist excited about. The noodle seemed fresh and was cooked well. I would've preferred a little more al dente but it was good. The sauce was a little disappointing. I was expecting a hearty mushroom flavor that almost mimics meat but it had something in the sauce that made it a little sweet and it threw me off. I don't expect sweet with a dark red sauce (unless it's marsala but a ragu, no). The portion was very generous if it was one individual eating it. The pizza! Yes! They have the crust down! I really enjoyed the Funguy pizza. Thin, chewy, flavorful, delicate. Spot on! Some truffle oil would've put me over the top BUT I don't tolerate fake truffle oil and that's what most use so I'm ok with it not being on there. The La Romana was also very enjoyable. Some slices the rosemary was a little over powering but again, they really have the crust perfected! The gnocchi bread bowl! It's huge, it's got so much stringy cheese it's a spectacle! The sauce is very tasty and the gnocchi are the perfect texture. There's NO WAY one person is even two people could finish it! Next time I would ask for a little less cheese because it's really hard to dish out with how stringy it is! The interesting thing is that you don't feel like you have a mouthful of chewy cheese though. It goes down easily. Last but not least, the Pistachio Lemon Gelato! The combination of vanilla Gelato, lemon olive oil, and pistachios was a hit in my book! I could've had twice the amount of olive oil and really been happy! Very tasty for sure! This place had good food, but the experience itself needs to be improved. It felt like they were doing a soft launch and didn't quite have everything smooth yet. We had to ask for things multiple times which was kind of frustrating. They knew how many people were coming because of how many seats but not everyone had silverware either. I was looking for places with pasta and this one caught my eye. There's plenty of parking in the back, and very spacious inside with plenty of seating as well. Service was very friendly and attentive, checking in with you a couple times. The only bad thing is that they're only open in the evenings at 5pm :( . Other than that, it's a really nice ambience, and it was nice of the servers to to-go box the food for you. The "build your own pasta" is also affordable and worth the portion size. Pasta is $10 and adding meat is an extra $5. They also sometimes hold wine nights as well. It was a warm Friday night so we decided to go to Campbell. Our first choice was Aqui Cal, but it was packed. So we walked along the street and eventually settled on this place. We were seated at a table for two behind the host station but after a no-show the host moved us to a better table without even being asked. The ambience is comfortable neighborhood chic. Had a spectacular dinner here tonight at La Pizza Spot. This restaurant has only been open for about a month. And I have to say, they are doing an amazing job! We arrived right when they opened, at 5:00 p.m., and were warmly greeted by the staff upon entering the front door. We were their first customers of the night, with many more people arriving after us. We were immediately seated at a booth, but after a few minutes, my back didn't fare well with that seating. I asked if we could sit across the way at a table for two, with blue velvety chairs. The hostess had no problem with that request. The blue chairs were extremely comfortable, which made my evening better. Our waitress, Ana, introduced herself to us and went over the menu. I really loved that she was very knowledgeable with the menu. She had the best personality. I could tell she enjoyed working there, and it made our experience even better. We had the best time with her. I will definitely ask for her to help us the next time we come. We started off with some sparkling water and ordered the shareable meatball and the citrus fennel salad. For our mains, we tried the squid ink spätzle with added fennel sausage, the mushroom ragu Pappardelle and the roasted chicken. We ordered a variety of things to share, since it was our first time. Our order was spaced out perfectly. Our meatball arrived, and it was huge. My husband and I split that. It was delicious, and I loved the marinara sauce it came with. Next, our salad came out. The presentation was beautiful with the pop of color from the grapefruit. It was amazing. They gave a hefty portion of burrata. The whole salad was delicious and refreshing. The grapefruit was so sweet. We also shared that. Our main course came out next. My husband loved his squid ink spätzle with added fennel sausage. It was very tasty. My mushroom ragu parppadelle was fantastic. I will definitely get this again. The roasted chicken came out next, and we shared this as well. They gave us two chicken drumsticks and thighs. The chicken was served with smashed fingerling potatoes, a cucumber escabeche, and red leaf lettuce, all plated on top of a Romesco sauce. The whole dish was really good. The chicken was cooked perfectly, and the fingerling potatoes were crisp. They both paired well with the delicious Romesco sauce, that I loved. The salad was also a nice touch. At this point, we were happily full and had to have some things boxed up to take home. Ana kindly took care of that and returned our leftovers to us in a bag. We did look at the dessert menu and decided to try the Spumoni sorbet. We both loved it. I especially loved the candied cherries in the cherry part of the sorbet. The chocolate and pistachio, along with the cherry sorbet, were all delicious. What a perfect way to end our amazing meal. Overall, an awesome experience with outstanding customer service. Came here tonight for their soft opening, the staff is very friendly and I really enjoyed talking to our waitress. 5 stars I ordered the mushroom Ragu Pappardelle. Basically it's a pasta dish with "I think" 4 kinds of fresh, finally minced mushrooms and big pieces of spinach. The Ragu itself was simple put.... wonderful the flavors were just fantastic. The pasta was cooked just slightly under al dente "no complaints" Personally the only thing I had trouble with was the spinach, I felt it was clunky, everything else was finely chopped and beautifully prepared then there was these large pieces of spinach, it kind of felt like it was an after thought. Overall a very very good dish "I could eat that Ragu all day every day" 4.5 stars (if I can make a suggestion, mince the spinach) I ordered the meatball and ask them to give me half marinara and half Alfredo sauce? (because that's how I roll.) they obliged. :-D The meatball itself was a little on dense side and a little too salty 3 stars. The Alfredo sauce was very very good and had delicate, light flavors 5 stars. The marinara was also excellent 5 stars. Wifey ordered the Rosa: gnocchi, creamy marinara, mozzarella, and basil. In a bread crust bowl. Again, delicate, light flavors that IMO took time to develop, nothing overpowering the pallet "very very nice" The Gnocchi were not quite as silky as I expected but still good. 4 stars. Since this was a soft opening it had a very limited menu (see picture). The owners of the restaurant are the same as Tostada's. The restaurant was very clean and identical to what Tostadas looked like. It is a full service restaurant where you're greeted, seated and a professional server (obviously had major training) takes your order. Everyone worked as a team, helping each other as there wasn't a moment that somebody didn't come by asking if I wanted refills or answered questions about the menu. Another item to point out is they have a large banquet room available which was really nice. All the food is house made fresh daily-Yum! Now to the food! I had a make your own cheese, mushroom, and pepperoni pizza. Absolutely fantastic! Not greasy with quality ingredients. I really liked the crust and the sauce. The pasta starter wth pesto sauce was also excellent. The blue cheese house made dressing was superb. Even the pepsie zero was perfectly mixed. For desert, I had the featured Gela-tini. Wish they had an AC or fan. I was sweating a little. Service: Very attentive service and professional. Almost every server asked us how we were doing, if we needed anything. Arrived when it just opened. Upon entering, we were getting apprehensive vibes. You can tell they are just starting out in the pizza business. We were not sure we wanted to stay. Glad we gave it a chance. By the time we were leaving, every table was occupied. Beautiful deco. Service was friendly and they constantly checked on us. We tried the meatball as an app. They did have a large amount of fillers in them, but tasty. I ordered the Gnocchi in a bread bowl with marinara sauce. And the restaurant is nicer than you'd think viewing from the outside. Good spot for a date. The food was good and the the thing they had I haven't seen anywhere else is the Gnocchi Bread Bowl. The positives - I really liked the idea of an upscale pizza spot. The decor was refined and sophisticated and gave it a classic date night romantic vibe. The service was top notch - our server was polite, used sir all night, and checked in on our meal multiple times. The rosemary Focaccia appetizer was unique and well done. I enjoyed that dish the best. The pinot noir was tasty. The negatives - your cesar salad is drowning in dressing. The lettuce was so wilted due to the overwhelming amount of dressing in the salad. It did have a good flavor, however. The lemon Moscow mule is too sweet. The pizza was unforgivable. We went with the mushroom pizza and decided to add burrata on top to spruce it up. The cooks did not know how to incorporate the cheese into the pizza and it ended up just running off each slice. There was no flavor of mushroom whatsoever - they should have just used classic baby bella. The garlic cloves were so underdone that they added weight to the slices and made them flimsy and floppy and the bite was not pleasing. I hate to say this - but this might have been one of the weakest pizza dishes I have tried. We were THIS close to having them take it back. But I hate being THAT guy. When you pair the quality of the pizza with that wilted lettuce cesar, that is a losing combo. I think these missteps could definitely be improved - and I might consider a revisit because there were items on the menu I've never seen before and am still curious about. read more

This Italian style restaurant (more on that later), was on my to-do list for some time. Unfortunately they only open evenings so we didn't get a chance to go until the recent Mother's Day. Let's talk about the place first, it was previously a Mexican place, Tostadas - and I don't know this for sure but I'd be willing to guess it's the same owners which explains why the food isn't necessarily authentic Italian. This isn't a complaint per se as I would say it's still more authentic than a number of other "Italian" restaurants I've visited. The restaurant is very visually appealing but looks like it was refurbed on a budget, the old fashioned ceiling and some other quirkiness gives this away. I'd like to see better menus the crumply paper ones are just a little cheap looking. The food was all very good and tasty, our only complaint was that the Prosciutto pizza was cooked, whereas I would expect the meat to be added post bake. Service was great, Mother's day can get interesting especially given the restaurant was full. I would go back! read more

Came here last night for dinner with a friend and had a great overall experience. Food. Service. Drinks. Vibe. It was all on point. Server was friendly and helpful. Made great recommendations including popular items and her own favorites. We decided to start with the tempura shrimp and Caesar salad, followed by the spicy pantalones pizza (served with honey) and the fungi pizza. All ingredients were fresh and the tempura shrimp was perfectly crisp. 10/10. Honestly it was tough to decide on what to order because everything looked so good. Their cocktail menu is on point. A ton of different spritz's to choose from. I chose the Hugo spritz which was *chefs kiss* and my friend had a limoncello mule which was also very refreshing. They also have espresso cocktails and their own signature cocktails. Only thing I would ding them on is their wine pour. I also ordered a glass of wine and the pour was definitely smaller than it should have been for any restaurant. The ambience/vibe of the restaurant is great. Inside is super cute. A ton of seating. Feels very cozy but also trendy, and not in an Instagrammy type of way. They also had really good music playing. I will definitely be returning. I tried La Pizza Spot a couple of weeks ago. The layout is super nice. Service started off well, but unfortunately they forgot some of our drinks. They did apologize and didn't end up charging us for the drinks. The food tasted great, but it did unfortunately upset my stomach as well as my partner's stomach. From the outside, I wasn't expecting much, especially since the signage wasn't finalized, and a banner was all that was covering the Tostadas logo. Once I walked inside, I was very impressed with the decor. Simple, yet elegant Italian restaurant with a nice clean bar. You can't go wrong with simple and clean! We were greeted by Santiago, and as he sat us, he explained what the most popular items were. We trusted him, and went with his recommendations. We were NOT disappointed! Tanya was our server, and she was down to earth, and provided excellent customer service. She brought us the house spicy honey sauce, and recommended we try it. It had a very unique flavor, and I mean that in a good way. We ordered the spicy pantalones pizza and the Rosa bowl with vodka sauce gnocchi. Both were really good, and you could tell they use high quality ingredients. Large filling portions that were more than enough for 2 people. Tanya and Santiago both checked in periodically to see if we needed anything. They were genuinely happy to see that we were happy, and they were excited to share tips about the menu and options available. Customer service is very important to me, even beyond food quality. The food is delicious at La Pizza Spot, but I had to leave a review to acknowledge the service provided by Tanya and Santiago. The booth we were seated in had some rips on the seats - it seems they acquired and are using the previous restaurant's stuff, including the tables. They seated us right away, and service was very friendly throughout the night. They're still working out the kinks since they're in soft opening. The food took a while to come out - over 20 minutes even for the focaccia. Rosemary focaccia: delicious! The focaccia itself was crispy on the outside yet soft on the inside. The oil and seasoning that it came with was so flavorful. Pesto bowl: pesto sauce was very good, rich, and creamy. So much sauce it was like a soup which was meant for dipping the bread into. The gnocchi was good but a bit denser in consistency than I liked - I prefer a more airy texture. The bread is very good and crispy. La Sophia pizza: a classic margarita style pizza. The crust is very good, crispy and light. However the toppings and cheese kept completely sliding right off whenever we were trying to grab a slice. Maybe they could cut the slices a bit more to prevent this? Also, there were just a few tiny shredded pieces of basil on the pizza; more basil would have been great. Hey there Party People You have got to go to La Pizza Spot. It has a great date night vibe. Love the atmosphere. Our waiter Santiago was super great. He knew everything about the menu making the best suggestions. We started with the Rosemary Focaccia. They make the dipping sauce fresh to order on premises. It was so delicious and the bread was just like my Nana would have made. I told the owner that he needed to selling the dipping sauce to take home. I had the Spicy Pantalones Pizza. OMG this was that best pizza I've had in a long time. The crust was amazing the flavor combination was out of this world and it was not greasy at all. I just have to say that the crust was soft yet thin with a wonderful herbaceous flavor. Usually pizza crust is a throw away but this pizza I guarantee you will eat from end to end. Hubby had the Rosa gnocchi Breadbowl. I know your thinking, "Why would you serve potato gnocchi in a bread bowl"? Because it's fricking delicious that's why. They use the same dough to make the bread bowl that they use for their pizza. So no need for me to tell you how awesome it was because you already know. The sauce had a very nice flavor it really was a great all round dish. You need to make sure and leave room for dessert. We had the Gelato-Tini. Such a wonderful use of Pistachios,edible flowers, macerated strawberries and vanilla ice cream. They have the freshest take on traditional Spumoni. They use sorbet instead of ice cream. Overall, we really enjoyed our dinner. We ordered the salmon spread, the spicy pantalones pizza, and the Rosa Bread Bowl. The highlight of our dinner was the Rosa Bread Bowl - the bread was fresh and delicious, the sauce was flavorful, and the gnocchi tasted fresh and well made. The Rosa Bread Bowl is the best Italian dish I've had in the Bay in a while, a must order! The pizza was okay, it could have used more toppings. And the salmon spread was not very good - the sauce they mixed it with was too overpowering. We ordered their Spumoni Sorbet for dessert and it wasn't very good - it tasted more like a bland ice cream, rather than a sorbet. As part of our ongoing pizza quest we decided to try this new venue nearby in Campbell. There is ample parking at it's corner location on Hamilton. As you enter the lobby area there is a nice display of composed potted succulent plants that are for sale through a local vendor which also serve is a nice decor. To the right is a nice set apart dining party space with two large screen televisions to the left. You enter the main dining area of the restaurant the decor is old-school dark and inviting with large windows facing the street. There are private tables and Booth as well as a fully stocked bar again with a television, but the predominant audio track is not the TV, it is music channel that touches more on 80s lounge music pipes through the restaurant. We were pleasantly greeted by one of two server/Host/bartenders and seated at a booth opposite the bar. The menu offers a nice selection of appetizers, pizza, main dishes, dessert and separately wine and spirits. We stayed with pizza for this first visit, choosing the recommended Spicy Pantalones, and I enjoyed a Classic Espresso Martini. A large empty tomato can served as the platter for the incoming pie, which we found to be a novel and cool idea. My luxurious cocktail arrived promptly with the must have 3 espresso beans floating, followed soon by la pizza. The martini was excellent, with balanced flavor, and it actually worked on my palate with the pizza. The pizza style is a blend of Neapolitan and New York, thin crust, foldable, puffy edge, but with a balanced amount of sauce, cheese and toppings, in our case pepperoni, Calabrian fennel sausage and fresh cut jalapeños. Topped with fresh spiral cut parmesan cheese table-side. Simple, tasty, spicy, and the crust had the right amount of chew and did not become soggy at all. Price for our meal was very reasonable, and the quality exceeded your run of the mill pizza chains. We will definitely be headed back in a few weeks to try non-pizza items, short ribs, bread bowls are high on our list. Currently as a new venue their hours are from 5 to 9pm, but going into the soccer season they are looking at opening at 2 PM. read more

Tried this spot tonight with my friend and we enjoyed it. Loved the ambiance and decor! The service was also really good. Our server was friendly and very attentive. The food was pretty good, but nothing blew us away except for the pizza. We started out with the house focaccia bread and the meatball with half red sauce and half Alfredo sauce. We also ordered the build your own pasta with pesto sauce and added fennel sausage, the billionaires lasagna, and the funguy pizza. The house bread and meatball were really good. The lasagna was good, but very average and nothing special. The pesto pasta was very disappointing. It really had barely any pesto flavor at all and the fennel sausage I added to it was in such small pieces we questioned if they forgot to add it in. Our favorite was the mushroom pizza which was an 8 out of 10. Great flavor and amazing crust. I would come back just to try more pizzas and have the meatball. read more

I was excited to try this place as I had seen a lot of videos on social media but not a ton a reviews from non influencers. It was pretty packed around 6pm on Saturday but my friends and u were able to get seated right away. The inside is really nice. We ordered and app, a pizza and a pasta. They're still in their soft open so it's not a HUGE menu. We wanted to get the calamari which they didn't have, instead they had a tempura shrimp dish which ended up being the best part of the meal. We also got the Rosa bowl and the spicy pantalones pizza. The Rosa bowl came out first and there was quite a bit of time between that coming and the rest of the food we ordered. The pasta was good, it's served in a giant bread bowl so the carbs hit you quick. The shrimp again was the best thing we had and the pizza was ok. At one point we did ask for more water for the table that never came and they have you go to the front to pay, they don't seem to have a terminal they can bring to you or take your card and charge it and bring it back. Overall the food was ok, nothing spectacular. I feel like I'd come back again once they've found their groove. read more

Checked out the soft opening at La Pizza Spot last night. Everything was exceptional, from the service to the food. Staff were very attentive and made great meal recommendations. Sophia, our server, was wonderful, as were the other servers who stopped by our table. The restaurant was pretty empty due to it being only the soft opening but I expect this restaurant to do very well with business. I had a lovely cocktail and my son and I shared the focaccia appetizer. It was in a muffin form which isn't something I've seen with focaccia before (sorry, not pictured as we ate it too quickly). I opted for a "make your own pasta" dish and chose rigatoni with vodka sauce and burrata. My son ordered a pizza which had pepperoni and sausage and a lovely hot honey sauce to drizzle on top. One of the servers recommended the gelato for dessert. It's a vanilla gelato with pistachios on top and it's drizzled with lemon infused olive oil. I was skeptical at first because I'm a chocolate lover but this by far was the absolute BEST gelato I've had in my life. It was my favorite thing of the whole meal.
