Great meatballs! This was a hard place to rate because on one hand - really great meatballs and an awesome stromboli. Pizza crust also nice and flavorful. Surprising lack of toppings on the cheese + two toppings pizza but the pesto chicken pizza was loaded. The pasta was only okay, but some in our group loved it. Overall, the meatballs would push me over the edge and I would come here again. FOOD: Overall, I loved the menu. Good selection and I love that they have so many options. Again the meatball is terrific, but surprisingly they don't offer it as a topping on the pizza. Stromboli was the best I've had. They really filled it up unlike other Italian places. I lived in Campbell for a short time 30 years ago, and Luigi's was my go to place for pizza. Their pizza was scrumptious and they kindly made me personal size pizzas that weren't on the menu. For some reason I haven't been there in ... 30 years. Had the Super Baked Rigatoni delivered tonight. It arrived piping hot and was so delicious. I really liked the Italian sausage on top and the penne inside. It was very filling, so I saved half for tomorrow. They included bread with my order, which was a nice surprise. The bread was soft and chewy, but it didn't have any butter or garlic on it. Just plain bread. If it was supposed to be garlic bread, I couldn't taste it. You order at a counter before sitting down, and our food was brought to us fairly quickly. The restaurant isn't a fancy one. I came at a quiet time but I can imagine it being lively and a fun casual dinner spot for friends or family. I ordered the sausage and chicken linguine with vodka sauce, and it was pretty good. The chicken and sauce could be more flavorful, but I still enjoyed it. My partner ordered the baked rigatoni and enjoyed it as well. I would say the pastas are nothing out of this world, but they were comforting and simple. I really enjoyed the garlic bread, I'd say that was my favorite part of the meal. Is 5 stars even enough for this place? Seriously! The most vintage, family friendly place ever. We had our son's 16th surprise party here and they exceeded expectations. We rented the private room for 3 hours. It was the perfect size. They helped me a couple days before with determining how much food to order. Everyone LOVED their pizzas and salads! I had the Chicken Pesto and Salami Pizza and have also tried the Creamy Chicken Garlic and Ham. Both were excellent and Muy Bueno Pizza's. The menu is deep of choices from the Pizza's to the Sandwiches to the Pasta to the Stromboli and Spaghetti and the Vino- Wine and beers they have. The place is cozy and looks like it has the special rooms for the FAMILIA type of events. I suggest you check them out. They also have a coffee room - Luigi's Cafe. I met Joe and he was very service oriented and respectful a true professional and family type of personality. They have been around since 1985. Luigi's was a great option for pizza. The pesto chicken was really good. It was a bit greasy but that was expected because it was pesto and the melted cheese. I also tried the chicken Alfredo, which was pretty standard. I felt like it could use some more salt but everything is to taste, so I just added what was right for me. The restaurant is self serve so you order and you get your own drinks and napkins, etc. They bring the food to the table however which is nice. They are pretty quick about getting the orders out. Came here for the second time before a movie. The pizza is pretty good. We got a veggie pizza and added jalapeno's. The toppings are ample and the crust is nice. If we were to order again, we would request extra crispy as the center was watery. We got the chicken pesto and it was average. Not a strong pesto flavor but the portion is good size. I wouldn't order chicken again. It was small cubed pieces that seemed as if they might have been frozen at some point. The garlic bread is probably their strongest contender. Soft and tasty. My biggest problem and why I would only get takeout is they were cleaning the kitchen while we were eating and the cleaner was so strong, I had to get out asap. It was making me physically ill and on the edge of vomiting. :( Even if I didn't have sensitivity to odors, I don't think anyone likes to smell chemicals while they are eating. It doesn't allow you to taste the food at all. I guess the positive is the place is probably clean but I can't risk getting a migraine or getting ill from it. It is very loud in the place even with only a few people and the kitchen staff going back and forth with a cart of dishes clanking as he goes over the carpet (3 times in the 40 minutes we were there) was less than pleasant. The place is very old school and very 'rough around the edges'. You grab your own forks, plastic plates, and super thin napkins. It's a good place for families I'm sure because of the portion sizes and prices, just know what you're getting into when going. They seem very nice so I'm torn with a not so great review, but I think honesty is the only way restaurants can know opinions and try retain customers. read more

The person at the counter who I believe is the owner was very attentive and friendly. He explained the different dishes they served and even let us sample one of their sauces! Best chicken Alfredo I've ever had in my life, you can taste how authentic it it. Super creamy and has a hint of garlic. My roommate got the Vegetarian version and she wanted some veggies rather than keeping it plain pasta + sauce, so they customized it and added some veggies for her. I can see the appeal of the location as a lovely local joint for budget Italian food with massive portions. Very cozy from the moment you step through the doors and the staff were quite welcoming. No qualms with service nor decor. Unfortunately, the food really didn't jive with me and tasted simple to a fault. Perhaps I'll give their stromboli or pizza a try instead the next time I'm craving a slice. Parking lot for the location is quite easy to find, being next to a Dollar tree and Safeway. No interior seating, but quite the spacious interior and an event space that was in use for a gathering while we were there (Black Friday evening). Definitely evokes a more quaint classic look to the premises. The warm and welcoming staff also had the habit of showing and introducing the dishes they were carrying to other diners as they brought it over, which is a neat way of answering that question "wait what did that person get??". A unique way of getting your other menu items some limelight. The menu is pretty straightforward, with all pastas having garlic bread and all prices including sales tax (which I do actually quite like the practice of). Flat credit card use fee of $1. Everything other than the dishes being brought out is self-serve; the service station was well stocked and handy for nabbing exactly what you need on demand (plenty of to go containers, cutlery, napkins, etc.). ==Garlic bread [3.5/5]== Worth mentioning these guys on a separate line, since the bread is undoubtedly very fresh and hot (a quality most other spots will compromise on). Unfortunately, as far as flavor it was fairly plain bread so I can't say it's really garlic bread. There was a light dusting of parmesan (?), but I couldn't make out the taste. Simple pleasures I suppose; they worked well dipped into the pasta sauces and we saved the rest for later, but by themselves they're a bit lacking. ==Chicken Alfredo [3.5/5]== Massive portions and honestly this could probably feed two people given how heavy the alfredo portion is. I made this a "carbonara", which I assumed (just) added bacon to a cream sauce (not quite traditional carbonara to be sure). Either way, the texture was pretty spot on for a creamy pasta, with a velvety smoothness and a nice bite to the pasta itself. I only had a sampling of this one, but my brother's main issue with it rings true that it just tasted like plain marinara. The sausage was good, but overall it just lacked depth and seasoning. For some that simplicity might be more favored, but it was regretably not to our taste. I was starting to worry that this place might not be too good. But I was wrong! So you order at the counter first then you take a seat and they'll bring the food to you. We ordered the meatball Stromboli and the rigatoni. The Stromboli was smothered with their house marinara sauce and the meatball was packed with flavor and very juicy. I would prefer the sauce to maybe be little more savory. But that's ok, that's what the Parmesan on the table is for I guess. And the baked rigatoni was also delicious and came out piping hot just the way I like it. But they used penne pasta for a dish that was called rigatoni lol. But whatever , still was good.
