We had the good fortune to find this food truck when we visited Narrative Fermentations for our pizza and beer game night. We had the Sonic Boom pizza and the meatballs. The pizza was the size of a regular paper plate, which means it was not enough for both of us and the price at $19 seemed a little steep, but they do have to lug their pizza oven around from place to place. From top to bottom the pizza was delicious. The ingredients were fresh, the crust was perfectly fired with just a little singeing and it was very flavorful. The meatballs were even better and 8 was a decent serving for $11. The meat was flavorful and herby with a little bit of a kick. The marinara sauce and cheese finished it off perfectly. The food definitely helped to make our evening great.

They set up a pop up tent and took our order and served it to us inside the brewery we were at (a different business).

Super generous about their lobster! - First time, I've never had the Po Boy (andouille - slightly spiced) but it was good and oily though. Fries were bomb! - Chairman's pork belly bun was delicious, a wee bit on the greasy side - Ice cream flavors we had were Ube - Purple Yam, Old School Vanilla, and The 408 - Caramel Ice Cream with Oreos and Fudge. What I…read morelove about it is that you don't have to chase down local food trucks by checking out their Twitter or Facebook updates to know where they'll be parked. And on top of that you get to experience a whole bunch of awesome Bay Area food trucks all in one spot. Moveable Feast on Friday nights in Willow Glen is a great foodie date night for sure. The bf and I have been here twice now (first time was still during my jaw surgery recovery phase where I was unable to chew, so it wasn't as exciting for me then). This last time we went we noticed that the most popular trucks were Sam's Chowdermobile, Grilled Cheese Bandits and Hill Country BBQ. The lines for those 3 were endless. But we did get to try come mashed tater balls and a delicious italian style grilled cheese sammich from Grilled Cheese Bandits about an hour before Moveable Feast was closing. And the bf got the very last link dog over at Hill Country BBQ, which he said was better than the Miso Dog he had over at Oh Miso Hungry truck. Let me list out what we had at the few trucks we chose to order from. Oh Miso Hungry Kimchi grilled cheese was actually not as good as it sounds. The kimchi was definitely delicious but it didn't taste right being super warm in between those pieces of Texas toast. And the Miso Dog the bf had, he liked but didn't love. MoGo BBQ Kalbi and bulgogi tacos. I liked the meat, tasted good. Not a fan of the corn tortillas they used. Barefoot Coffee The bf ordered a small coffee on drip to swing over to Treatbot Ice Cream since the guy over there told us the ice cream tastes bomb with that coffee. I had a sip of that coffee, holy shizz it was strong! Treatbot We had a scoop of horchata and a scoop of chocolate ice cream to go into the coffee. This is the second time I've had their horchata ice cream and I'm a HUGE fan for sure. Hill Country BBQ They ran out of most of their food about an hour before closing time. I liked the sauces they had out and pretty curious about the Porkolicious sauce. Looked interested! Next time, I'll be sure to try some of that pulled pork that was oh-so-popular. Grilled Cheese Bandit We ordered the small order of mashed tater balls which were okay but a bit too salty for us. Their Giuliano sandwich sure was bomb though! It came with mozzarella, parmesan and tomatoes with pesto on this amazingly soft Italian batard bread. Hands down, best thing I ate that night. I'm still very curious about what Sam's Chowdermobile has to offer but that damn line never let up! It was also extremely chilly that night, what the F happened to summer weather San Jose? But yeah, next time we'll definitely have to just stick it out and stand in line for some chowder. I would rate Moveable Feast 5 stars if they included better dessert trucks than just Fairycakes (cupcakes, which I'm not a fan of) and ice cream and candy. I want some PIES or something a bit more dense for dessert peeps!

They have three available meats for their $1 taco deal: al pastor, carnitas, and chicken. The taco truck only accepts cash or Venmo. The atmosphere was casual, with plenty of group of friends waiting for a late-night bite. The food was definitely worth the wait. The tacos were filled with meat, onions, and cilantro. Each taco was so flavorful, and the meat was cooked to perfection. My favorite was definitely the al pastor: it was tender and savory. I can't wait for my next visit!

And also make sure to bring .50 cents because it's .99 cents a taco plus tax. I guess the .50 is the tax LOL I came 8:30pm and there was a small line. I ordered 5 tacos for $5.50 with different meats to try. You can order with either pollo, carnitas or pastor. I got 3 pastor, 1 pollo, and 1 carnitas since my friend said the pastor is the best meat here. Had to wait about 10-20 minutes for the food to come out. You can also see the meat on the rotator machine. * Pastor: The pastor meat is flavorful and so good for the price. I definitely recommend this be the number one meat you try. * Pollo: This is their chicken and I thought it would be dry and super bland but it was pretty good. It just tasted like a healthier taco option. Not bad but I still prefer the pastor over this. * Carnitas: Good but pastor still the best. All the tacos come with the option of onion and cilantro. They have a 3 sauce bar of the red, green and orange sauce. Yall their orange sauce got a kick to it! I like it because I like spice. Parking here is limited so you might have to find street parking. There's also a seating area on the left of the food truck and you most likely will share a table with someone else.

The best of the bunch was the dahi batata puri, but it still didn't quite hit the spot. It was definitely on the sweeter side and I felt like the dahi/yogurt wasn't as creamy as I prefer. The chinese bhel was okay, but didn't have much flavor. Lastly the ragda pattice had so much potential. The flavor was there, but it was insanely spicy- even as someone with a med/high spice tolerance. You could feel the burn traveling down to your stomach. All of us found it unbearable and worse of all felt the affects for a day after. Perhaps we ordered the wrong dishes but after the all the discomfort of the meal- I don't feel inclined to return.

Yesterday, I ordered a Vada Pav, Shalimar Egg Mughlai (on their recommendation from their list of egg dishes), and a Veg Frankie -- and honestly, none of it lived up to the hype(5 stars currently) or price point. Vada Pav: It was okay. The "mirchi" served alongside was literally a raw Thai green chili. Really? At least pan-fry it with some salt and oil to enhance the flavor. For over $10 with taxes, this was already pricier than better Vada Pavs you can get at places like Elco Drive, and yet it offered nothing exceptional. Frankie: This one made me genuinely angry. It was a soggy maida roll stuffed with the same aloo masala from the Vada Pav, plus a few sad shreds of cabbage. That's it. And they had the audacity to charge $12 for it. ($1.50 for cheese, lol I am glad we didn't add)This isn't a Frankie -- it's a lazy repackaged Vada Pav with no flavor or creativity. They threw in some pickled jalapeños on the side, which only added confusion. If you're running a fusion menu(well partially), at least mention it upfront instead of misleading customers. Egg Shalimar Mughlai: At $13, it was passable but still not impressive. The bun on the side was not toasted or anything. Better than the Frankie, but nothing I'd recommend or return for. I was so excited for trying this place but, overall, this place is overpriced, underwhelming, and frankly disappointing. If your Vada Pav and Frankie are practically identical, maybe inform customers before they order both. I wouldn't recommend Maya Kitchen -- save your time, appetite and money and go somewhere else. Thank me later.
