Tried J Town Pizza during their soft opening on a Friday evening and had a great experience! When we arrived, only the first floor seating was open but the wait really wasn't bad at all. About 30 minutes for a party of 3 on a Friday night. Because it was a soft opening there wasn't a lot on the menu, but we ordered the J Town Special, the Hawaiian pizza, and a Caesar salad, and everything came out fresh and really good. The pizzas had great flavor and you could tell the ingredients were quality. The Caesar salad was also super fresh and paired well with the pizzas. The vibe inside was lively and great for a night out with friends or even a date. I'm excited to come back once they officially grand reopening so we can try more of the menu. Overall, really solid first impression and definitely worth checking out if you're in Japantown! read more

Since their soft opening I have ordered 2 pies. Each pie I paid for extra toppings. Both pies did not come with the extra toppings I paid for. I live in the area, so I walk there to pick up the food. Unfortunately both times I did not verify the food before I left, but honestly I shouldn't have to. I am more disappointed that my order has been incorrect the past visits, than me loosing money for extra toppings. Could it be a system error that's not populating these extra toppings? If so please fix it read more

I'm so sad to hear this place closed suddenly. We had a lovely experience and were hoping to go back soon! We ordered the Godzilla and house saald. Pizza was hot and cheesey, and the salad was crisp and fresh. It had my favorite pepperoni, the cupping kind, that gets extra crispy. The staff was great. It was a nice location in Japan town and parking was fairly easy. We enjoyed sitting outside in a nice spacious, clean patio. Prepaid at the counter first but the waitress noticed we were sitting down for dinein and adjusted without a word from us. I've been putting off coming here for a while, mostly because my daughter loves Pau Hana Shaved Ice around the corner, so I'm always in the area but never made it inside. My first thought when I walked in was what a cool, trendy little place with TVs everywhere and a great beer menu. I'd heard about the garlic fries and the upstairs area, so those were definitely on my to-do list. I ordered the garlic fries and a sandwich and was honestly shocked that it was over $30. Thank goodness I wasn't eating with my friend, who usually brings the bill up to forty dollars when we're together! I ate most of the fries there and took the rest home, and they were perfect after a quick warmup in the air fryer. The upstairs was so quiet, we had the whole area to ourselves. The only thing is, it seemed like the employees hang out there on their breaks, which I don't really blame them for. One weird thing I noticed is that all the TVs were on silent without closed captions. We were watching preseason football, and it would've been nice to have one or the other. And on top of that, one TV was way ahead of the other on the same game, which was really strange. No good for scoring runs. The decor and feel of the place were great, though. The garlic fries were the bomb, and my sandwich was super meaty and good no skimming on the garlic or the meat. I couldn't decide on a pizza, so I went with my usual go-to sandwich, but I'll definitely have to try a pizza next time. I should have asked if I could go off-menu because I love me some ham and pineapple. Yes, I said it, and yes, pineapple does belong on pizza. Overall, JTown is a true hidden gem and an extremely good place. I was sad to hear that Jtown Pizza closed down! I've visited twice and tried the Jtown pizza both times since it was one of the more unique pizza flavors that were inspired by Japantown. Their cheesy pizza garlic strips also had a strong garlic flavor which made it stand out as an appetizer. Only giving them 4 stars as the food was quite pricey. I came here a few years ago with my wife's family. We had a great time eating on the rooftop. We all ordered a pretty big spread: 3 large pizzas, wings, peppers, etc. I'm a huge fan of their Hawaiian pizza and regular pepperoni sausage. Their pizza comes out freshly made and the crust has this nice crisp to it. The toppings are premium so it's not that cheap fast food type ingredients. The slices are fairly big too so that's a plus. They have outside seating , with a dope mural on the patio side , and fans with big nice umbrellas for some shade ! Food: 10/10. The pizza was really good and the meatball eggrolls did what they needed to do. The eggrolls are really kind ground beef and cheese vs an actual meatball but same same right? Parking in the area is kind of hard to get with most of it metered. The building is very cool with seating down stairs upstairs and outside. The upstairs where we sat has at least 3 televisions in different locations. On the walls you will find murals of Godzilla "I thought that was cool as I'm a huge Godzilla fan" We ordered a pitcher of coke and a pepperoni pizza. The pizza was super oily but to be honest is was really good! I was expecting pizza to revisit me later that evening "if you know what I mean.... Heartburn " but it never did. We dined at Jtown Pizza recently and were VERY impressed with both their excellent food and attentive service! I ordered a salad and a Margarita pizza. The salad was good, and the pizza was delicious! It was big enough for 3 people, so even though I was hungry there were a lot of leftovers afterwards. My friend went with what they call here an "Unkosher" sandwich. He raved about the taste, and (like my pizza) the portion size was more than generous - combined with a side of onion rings, he simply couldn't finish his meal, even though we'd gone for a hike earlier that same day :-) Jtown Pizza combination of great food and service really worked for me; I look forward to returning! read more

Delicious pizza and delicious sandwiches. Godzilla pizza was my favorite but the spicy bamboo is a close second. Crust is great, sauce is perfectly proportioned and toppings are plentiful; everything you want in a pizza. The Duchess, deep fried turkey sandwich was awesome too. The sprouts and tasty aioli really give the sandwich incredibly contrast and flavor. It is a saucy sandwich; so napkins are needed. Oh dear, I see so many 5 star reviews! We had two pizzas. the one that had a lot of meat was incredibly greasy. The grease just ran down your hand. The crust was also tough. The restaurant is clean and the bar tender was nice enough to turn down the volume on the tv's that were truly blaring. Groups eat upstairs and there is no service. You have to go down to fetch your food when the buzzer calls you. The stairs are quite steep so that is a consideration if you are slightly stair challenged. Parking is on the street and metered and can be challenging. I did not see a parking lot but you might call and ask if there is a nearby lot. . read more

This is my 2nd time having Jtown pizza, but 1st time dining in. We were a group of 15 and went on a Saturday for lunch after a soccer game. It was difficult to find parking, so we had to park about three blocks away. The place was clean and I loved how their outside area was setup. I did not like the customer service. We were upstairs in the outside patio and workers kept walking by, but never asked if we were OK or needed anything. We needed to go look for stuff we needed on our own like cheese and napkins. The only time they came to talk to us was to complain about one of the children doing something. Other people thought the pizza was good, but I thought the pizza was ok. Went here for lunch the other day with the family after spending time at the museum. Pros: the best hours in Japantown for lunch on a weekend (open for lunch beyond 2pm!) the food is tasty! I enjoyed the sloppy Joe sandwich, my favorite bite. Elevated childhood comfort food! Pizza reminds me of Round Table, also a childhood comfort food, before the artisan pizzas came out! Service was good, friendly, helpful, and kept on bringing refills of the refillable drinks, without being asked! Cons: the meatball egg roll was a disappointment more wrapper than meatballs. If they get the ratios right, it could be a winner. I was paying more attention to the sandwich portion of the menu, missed that they have okonomiyaki, so looking forward to coming back to try that! read more

The Good: *I placed an order via Doordash™ and it was delivered in less than an hour, which ain't bad from Japantown to Cambrian Park at rush hour. *Overall, the pizza was but was one of those foods that you need to eat a few bites before you start to enjoy it. Truth be told, the first few bites were disappointing, but the more we ate it, the more we liked it. *Sesame Ginger Wings were delicious and had a sweet, savory, and spicy thing going for it. I do with the were a bit crisper but otherwise very good wings. *Toppings on the pies were plentiful, and the crust was delicately thin. The Meh: *Kinda annoying that they won't let you split a 20-piece wings with two different sauces (at least via Doordash, not sure about in-house). *Menu only has "large" & and "small" sizes but nothing in-between. Maybe I'm being pedantic, but you can't have a "large" and "small" without also having a medium; otherwise, it should just be "regular" & "small." The Ugly: *DD prices are 25% higher than normal menu prices. Normally, I check to see what the markup is and usually avoid Doordashing places with high markups, but I was running late at work and in a rush and didn't have time to do research. I realize this is Merikkkka, and they can do whatever they want, so it is what it is. TLDR: Pretty good pizza and wings, but get ready to get taken to the cleaners on a DD order. read more

Fantastic pizza! This was one of the stops during the Beetlejuice Beerwalk and it's a really nice place - way bigger than I ever realized, as I had only passed it during drives or walks to nearby stores! Lovely outdoor patio (ground floor and up one level) where they had set up the different breweries - the breeze was really nice on an October afternoon. We saw another group had some fries that were gorgeously golden and crispy looking, but weren't hungry at the time. Well we doubled back after the beerwalk had ended and ordered a few things - you order at the counter and are given a buzzer. We got a large Godzilla pizza which was sooooo cheesy and hot - if we weren't careful all the toppings would slide right off! We also full heartedly loved the bleu cheese dressing - thick and funky - not like some other places that basically have ranch with a few bleu cheese crumbles you can't even taste. I had also ordered some garlic bread which had a super nice crunch and great garlic flavor. No pictures bc we demolished the food. They also have a really nice selection of beers (sours included!) I only got one sour ("neither here nor pear" from Original Pattern - delish!) but apparently you can leave your tab open at the bar if you intend to get more. 100% will come back again! read more

The shishito was good but could use a kick, maybe a spicier dipping sauce versus the mayo it came with. The drunken Jack was salty and sweet with mild heat. The Taylor made was a perfect combination. It would be good to have Togo containers upstairs as we had to go up and down the stairs to pack our leftovers. Their other menu items look good too. I dined here this past Tuesday and had a wonderful time. We sat at the bar and were only planning on getting a drink, but their menu truly intrigued us. We got the wings which were amazing, the sesame garlic was our favorite. Now the pizza!!!! Oh my goodness I am so happy we ordered that. There were shitake mushrooms, furikake, and Kewpie Mayo. Everything worked together so well. We wished it had meat on it, but that's why we ordered the wings and agreed it didnt need meat. I also got the cocktail "I'll Just Fall" and it was delicious. We were served by Vinny (I think) and he was great! Gave great service and checked in frequently considering he was the only server for the whole downstairs area. The theme of the restaurant seemed to be Godzilla-like, which was pretty cool and was a theme you even see in the bathroom.
