While the toppings were generously applied, the flavors weren't the most unique or complex. We had to wait to be seated, but I loved the cozy setup of the back patio. However, there didn't seem to be enough servers to consistently tend to the tables. There was a significant gap between our initial order and the next time we were checked on. *Hugo Spritz: a bit too fizzy and bland. I wished the elderflower liqueur was more prominent. The mint added some freshness, but overall, this was a disappointing beverage. *Garlic Fries: the best item of the night, and we ordered a second round. These came out piping hot and crispy, smothered in garlic seasoning. Extremely fragrant and easily the standout. *Mothra Wings: we selected lemon pepper, and these had a rather baked quality. The skin was soft while the meat was moist, resulting in a juicy but damp texture. I prefer a decent crunch on my wings. *Porky Blues Pizza: the crust was light with little char. It ran a tad dry, but I appreciated that it wasn't overly greasy. The blue cheese provided some funkiness in each bite, while the garlic oil was too muted to add much savoriness. The bacon offered some smokiness, and the sausage was tender. *Spicy Bamboo Pizza: my preferred of the two, as the Calabrese pepper offered a good kick. I find it funny that the name contains bamboo when there was very little greenery on the pie. The pepperoni crisped up well, and there were plenty of those tasty cups. However, the sauce lacked enough depth to tie all the proteins together. The fries were the highlight, while the wings and pizzas were more average. The pizzas were well made but didn't offer anything particularly memorable in terms of ingredients or concept. The cheese and tomato sauce could be further elevated to justify the nearly $40 price tag. Hard pass on the drinks, though. Jtown Pizza is trying to provide a full-service experience, but the lack of follow-up made the service feel inconsistent. There weren't enough check-ins to order additional food or sauce, ultimately resulting in a middling experience.
J-Town Pizza used to be my go to pizza spot. Then they closed. Tonight was my second time ordering with them. They somehow managed to mess my pizza up both times I've ordered since they reopened. I don't know why when I put no mushrooms on the combo they don't give me pepperoni also. Same exact thing happened last time. Also, they only gave me half salads when I ordered full orders. Not worth giving them another shot. It's unfortunate.
Cool place in San José's Japan town. The decor is Godzilla themed. Everywhere you look, there he is, even in the bathroom! It's two levels anf I think they have a patio too. They offer typical bar fare. I highly recommend the chilies! So good! Great place for groups. There was 8 of us and no problem getting a table. Definitely will go back!
I was so excited to come back here after being sad they had closed. However, idk what about the pizzas this time it just didn't taste as good as before and also the vibes here has definitely changed. Now they are rubbing more like a sit down restaurant where they will bring you to a table and take your order there - which is fine. But something about the pizza sauces just didn't hit the same as before. I got their special for the World Cup that's suppose to be pesto and margarita sauce but the pesto was very much 1% there. The pizza sauce tasted a lot sweeter than I would have liked. They also don't let you do half of each pizza anymore which sucks and was a big reason why we liked going especially for the price. Don't think I'll be back as often as before
Love the atmosphere so many places to sit upstairs down stairs inside outside plenty of areas the music is good the service is great the pizza was yummy love the Shishito peppers !!!!
I'm so sad to hear this place closed suddenly. We had a lovely experience and were hoping to go back soon! We ordered the Godzilla and house saald. Pizza was hot and cheesey, and the salad was crisp and fresh. It had my favorite pepperoni, the cupping kind, that gets extra crispy. The staff was great. It was a nice location in Japan town and parking was fairly easy. We enjoyed sitting outside in a nice spacious, clean patio. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they are able to relocate or open up again soon!
**This appears to be post-mortem since JTown Pizza announced they are closing as of Sept 4 from their IG... :( For the pizza alone I'd say it's a nice spot. Supremely crispy on top and bottom, very cheesy and rich signature pizzas. Pleasantly surprised Japantown also has good pizza game too. Quick and efficient service staff. Prepaid at the counter first but the waitress noticed we were sitting down for dinein and adjusted without a word from us. Food came out in reasonable time considering they were fielding a healthy number of orders on a Saturday noon so honestly it's a win in my book!
Great pizza! But they use AI art..... come on guys it can't be that hard to just pay a real artist ! It's not even good art it's SLOP!!
I've been putting off coming here for a while, mostly because my daughter loves Pau Hana Shaved Ice around the corner, so I'm always in the area but never made it inside. My first thought when I walked in was what a cool, trendy little place with TVs everywhere and a great beer menu. I'd heard about the garlic fries and the upstairs area, so those were definitely on my to-do list. I ordered the garlic fries and a sandwich and was honestly shocked that it was over $30. Thank goodness I wasn't eating with my friend, who usually brings the bill up to forty dollars when we're together! I ate most of the fries there and took the rest home, and they were perfect after a quick warmup in the air fryer. The upstairs was so quiet, we had the whole area to ourselves. The only thing is, it seemed like the employees hang out there on their breaks, which I don't really blame them for. One weird thing I noticed is that all the TVs were on silent without closed captions. We were watching preseason football, and it would've been nice to have one or the other. And on top of that, one TV was way ahead of the other on the same game, which was really strange. No good for scoring runs. The decor and feel of the place were great, though. The garlic fries were the bomb, and my sandwich was super meaty and good no skimming on the garlic or the meat. I couldn't decide on a pizza, so I went with my usual go-to sandwich, but I'll definitely have to try a pizza next time. I should have asked if I could go off-menu because I love me some ham and pineapple. Yes, I said it, and yes, pineapple does belong on pizza. Overall, JTown is a true hidden gem and an extremely good place. I'm not sure how family-friendly it is since the downstairs is a bar and the upstairs is so small, but maybe the outside patio would be a great option for that.

We sat upstairs because the patio with love music was full. They also have a second floor patio seating. Food was good. Enjoyed the wings and pizza. I didn't try the shishito because I was nervous I might get a spicy one.

They've got sandwiches, burgers, baked pastas and a solid lineup of craft beers on tap. But the main event? THE PIZZA: The Godzilla: (pepperoni, sausage, salami, meatball) is a beast--bold, meaty, and unstoppable. The Veg Head: brings fresh vibes with spinach, artichoke, feta, and kale pesto. After wrapping up a martial arts event, we were starving and stumbled into J Town Pizza--and let me tell you, it totally hit the spot. We split a half-and-half pizza: the Godzilla (all meat and absolutely loaded) and the J Town Special, which had this cool Japanese fusion flavor with a sweet twist that really surprised us--in the best way. The crust was thick, doughy, and super satisfying. As a pizza lover, this one checked all the boxes. But the real MVP of the night? The meatball eggrolls. We ordered six, had two each, and honestly could've skipped everything else and just feasted on those. Crispy, flavorful, and totally addictive. We also tried the wings. They were decent, but nothing mind-blowing--I probably wouldn't re-order them. What really made the night was the whole vibe. They sat us at the bar top, and funnily enough, a martial arts competition was playing on the TVs--perfect timing. The interior had a laid-back, kickback feel that made it a great place to just hang and relax. Bonus points for being open until midnight--clutch for late-night eats. We'll definitely be back.

I used to work next door to this place and was always curious what Japanese pizza is like. Jtown Street pizza (5/5): I got the regular size. It comes with shiitake mushrooms, furikake, and Japanese mayo. I loved how epic the flavors were. Definitely a Japantown gem read more

I was sad to hear that Jtown Pizza closed down! I've visited twice and tried the Jtown pizza both times since it was one of the more unique pizza flavors that were inspired by Japantown. Their cheesy pizza garlic strips also had a strong garlic flavor which made it stand out as an appetizer. Only giving them 4 stars as the food was quite pricey. Hopefully they'll be able to reopen sometime in the future! read more
Grabbed a bite a few weeks ago when we were down the street and I'm so glad I did! I've been meaning to come a while ago now after hearing so many great things. We got the Drunken Jack pizza and the Caesar salad to share. The crust on the pizza was phenomenal! The salad was saucy and lettuce were crunchy. I'm so glad we got a chance to stop by. The vibes are great here, it's the only late night spot open in Jtown. But the prices are astronomical for what you are getting to be frank. A large pizza costing more than $30? Nevertheless, it does in a pinch and is fairly decent. Loses a star from me for the price though. read more

Came in on a Sunday afternoon, around 2:30pm. Got a 16" pizza: half Drunken Chicken and half Godzilla, with netball trolls and two IPAs. Ambiance: 10/10. They have outside seating , with a dope mural on the patio side , and fans with big nice umbrellas for some shade ! Food: 10/10. The pizza was really good and the meatball eggrolls did what they needed to do. The eggrolls are really kind ground beef and cheese vs an actual meatball but same same right? Pizza was fresh, hot, and delicious. Service: 10/10. No complaints. Waitress was chill got out order in and our drinks out timely. Bill: we paid close to $80 but that's CA pricing. I'd come back and would definitely recommend. read more

I LOVE this place like the vibes, the servers, the pizzaaaa. I have converted pineapple on pizza haters with their hawaiian pizza, it is just so good. The meat pizzas are really good too. My absolute favorite pizza place for so many reasons and they have local beers which is amazing that they support local businesses. Not only do they do that, the drinks are just so good and strong lol, especially the fruity ciders. Only thing is because they're so popular the strong fruity drinks get sold out fast but either way i loooooove this place. read more
Parking in the area is kind of hard to get with most of it metered. The building is very cool with seating down stairs upstairs and outside. The upstairs where we sat has at least 3 televisions in different locations. On the walls you will find murals of Godzilla "I thought that was cool as I'm a huge Godzilla fan" We ordered a pitcher of coke and a pepperoni pizza. The pizza was super oily but to be honest is was really good! I was expecting pizza to revisit me later that evening "if you know what I mean.... Heartburn " but it never did. Bottom line is this is a really nice place to hang out with friends inside or out and the pizza are IMO quite good. read more

Came here with friends and had a blast! Food was hearty and perfect with the alcohol paired up. Bar and ambiance was great and they had a back area for a more family friendly feel. Food came out so fast, everyone has such a fun personality there. They seem to really get to know the regulars. Will come back here again! The food is delish and I want to try more of it but the pizza will not leave you wanting for anything it is so good! read more

Parking is tough, so factor that in when you come here. We placed an order for pickup and I had to drive around, never even found parking. I ended up double-parking once Ronnie went in to pickup the pizzas. Edit** I did not realize this review was posted. It was incomplete. That was because my cat sat on my keyboard. The Godzilla, meatball egg rolls, and wings were delicious. I did not enjoy the Jtown Street pizza though. I did not like the lettuce getting stuck to my teeth. I love kewpie mayo but I did not enjoy the flavor. My opinion though. The rest of our order was great. Definitely would come back to try other items. read more

Went here for lunch the other day with the family after spending time at the museum. Pros: the best hours in Japantown for lunch on a weekend (open for lunch beyond 2pm!) the food is tasty! I enjoyed the sloppy Joe sandwich, my favorite bite. Elevated childhood comfort food! Pizza reminds me of Round Table, also a childhood comfort food, before the artisan pizzas came out! Service was good, friendly, helpful, and kept on bringing refills of the refillable drinks, without being asked! Cons: the meatball egg roll was a disappointment more wrapper than meatballs. If they get the ratios right, it could be a winner. I was paying more attention to the sandwich portion of the menu, missed that they have okonomiyaki, so looking forward to coming back to try that! read more
I cane here during a weekday lunch and they had plenty of seating. The staff was friendly. I definitely like the vibe here and it seems like a good night spot. They have a wide selection of drinks. The bathrooms were very clean as well. I got the Godzilla pizza and the Taylor Made Combo Pizza. Both pizzas were both solid. They were just your typical supreme and meats lover type oThe chicken wings here were definitely smaller than expected and were dry. The Fries were solid. They had a crispy outside with a fluffy inside. I definitely need to try their other signature pizzas. read more
