This place has great meals and amazing customer service! We had a misunderstanding about one of the meals and the prices but the owner was quick to correct it (even though it wasn't their fault, it was ours) so that was awesome! He really didn't have to do that and we appreciated it! I also saw the owner give a toy to a toddler that was upset and the mom was having a hard time putting him in the high chair, the little boy had the biggest smile on his face after that! We had our fur baby, Coco, with us and she's extremely scared of loud, sudden noises and people. The staff was incredibly sweet and nice to her, they gave her water and some treats. My fiancé got this French toast with cream cheese inside (forgot what the name of it was, oops) and fruits. Racy Tracy wasn't out of the ordinary but was definitely tasty. It comes with your choice of a signature sauce on the side (creamy mushroom, tomato pesto or cheddar cheese). My friend recommended this place after I saw her so yummy post on fb. We went yesterday and had a 30 min wait. It was so worth the wait... Our waitress was Mabel and she was so nice and on it. I was really surprised that this restaurant was local and has been here for 6 years. I usually go to the one in Reno, NV. As soon as you walk in we were greeted and you hear music in the background. Waited a little while before we were seated, due to short staff. The restaurant is not that big. After we ordered we got our food right away. It was delicious! I highly recommend this place. I've been here twice in the last few months. The food is poor. Don't order anything Benedict. The sauce they use on the Benny is not Hollandaise, more like yellow gravy. The poached eggs are overcooked. The avocados are out of season or past their prime. It's very noisy. Not just inside, but the outdoor dining is super noisy as well. With this being my second go-around with them, I continue to be amazed by their food and pleased with their service. I met up with my friends to get brunch today for Valentine's Day. This was their first time here, so the experience was new to them. Because it's Valentine's Day, the place was a bit crowded with people, but the outside area was spacious enough to allow for social distancing. It took about 20-30 minutes to get seated, but it was worth the wait when it didn't take long for our food to come out. My friends got the avocado toast and Zuifel (hope I'm spelling that right) omelette. Both were delicious!!! I tried some of the Zuifel myself and was pleasantly surprised by the apple, bacon, peanut butter, and banana wrapped in egg. It was spectacular! My friend ate the entire thing! As for me, I got the French toast with strawberries added and bacon on the side. All I can say is that we were in heaven. Surprisingly with the long wait and large amount of people, the staff was very accommodating and checked on us to see if we needed anything. 10/10 will continue to recommend this place. I'm a reasonable person. Read my previous posts. I don't EVER want a free meal as I feel it both steals money out of hard working servers and wait staff, as well should NEVER be the intention of any business owner to LOSE money rather than gain an advocate that travels, and is a bit of a foodie. So, let's break it down. My wife ordered the "Veggie Benny". The eggs (poached), that upon cutting them, the white and yolks (raw), drenched the rest of the plate. Gross. Our kids meals, at market rate, were far overpriced than that of - let's say - the local Denny's, iHop and Sally's Diner. I'm sure you know, for 5.49-7.49 you can get massive amounts of syrup, butter, fruit.... Blah blah blah. And my meal - wow. I order avocado toast (which comes with a solid wad of alfalfa sprouts, came out, you guessed it - without the sprouts! What is odd, is... the meal was served and I was told "sorry, we are out of sprouts - is that ok?". Wait? So you tell me that you served my dish, after waiting 17 mins for it, to find out you don't have the one ingredient I actually ordered it for - to tell me that you don't have it and drop it off my table like no big deal? Service industry would tell you, you go right to the table, tell the customer what you are out of, and then ask what would be the next appropriate move. No. Instead I'm the bad guy, because the one superfood I wanted, and purposely ordered a "healthy" meal, even though I would love to indulge while on vacation, is out of a main ingredient and I'm supposed to be ok with it? And then when I told the server, "sorry that's not ok, I'd like to order something else", was met with resistance and she pulled my plate away. Instead of "what would you like to order?" Or "would you like me to get my manager?" (The usual nonsense), she just walked away. Then the owner came by, and then told a slew of nonsense from, "I was going to give you a free meal" - never mentioned - to "I was going to get you sprouts from the store". What???? Why would you go the store, to get me sprouts to add to my meal that was going to sit and get cold - for a minimum of 15-25mins? And then when i expressed i just wanted to order something else, was questioned "Over Alfalfa Sprouts"? Then, after being frustrated with me decided she would storm off, came back by to tell me my whole meal was comped! People don't want comped meals. People want to go to a restaurant, while on vacation, or just with their family - and have a wholesome meal This place was recognized on Bobby Flay? Downhill. Taking things personal. Toxic. Personality is more toxic than rotten food and this is by far the worst experience I've ever had on the road. Remember your four agreements. Modesto deserves better. We ordered our food and the wait was crazy, understandable d/t covid wait times and possible understaffing issues although there was a good amount of waitresses/ waiters alongside bussers to pick up after a table would leave. My friend enjoyed her biscuits and gravy + side of two eggs, she was able to eat 1/2. I enjoyed the large portion of my Greek style omelette, I do wish they used kalamata Olives over black pre sliced~ other than that it tasted great! The red pesto is popular and tasty! This is my Son's place for pancakes and the pancakes are really good, however things to consider is....this place is very judgmental. The servers working there will judge you based of your skin color, dressing style, etc. if you have a slight color to you they will treat you as if you do not exist....on my days off I stay in my pajamas and don't really bother dressing up but that doesn't mean I'm not paying and also generously tipping customer but the servers skipped us didn't even offer a menu and went ahead with customers who came after us. There was a fly in the middle of my omelette and after telling the server all she said was "That's disgusting" and took the plate. Never checked on us after that, no apology no nothing. So good, those Jack Johnson pancakes(crack pancakes ) aren't for the purest but they are the best I've ever remember having. The rest of our food was also delicious.
