Went to try breakfast. Ordered two eggs over easy with bacon and a English muffin. I will say it came quickly. However eggs were stale tasting with burnt edges. Bacon was swimming in grease and the potatoes were stale and old. I ordered the potatoes to have cheese however they had maybe 10 pieces of finely grated cheese on top. A bit disappointing since the cheese cost me 99 cents. I will say the English muffin was awesome. Service was fast and effective. I did feel however that because I was only one person and not a table of 6-8 I was not treated with the happy go lucky attitude as my surrounding tables did. Not a big deal but pointing it out to a new restaurant. My biggest complaint on today's visit was the cost. Your telling me that 2 eggs 3 slices of bacon some potatoes, an English muffin and a cup of coffee cost $20 seems a bit over th I'm sure they have some bugs to work out. I will try them again in a few months and see if it's improved. !!Update!! Visited 4/6/19 I had family in town so I decided to try again. We had about a 15-20 min wait but they were accurate with seating us. We had a great experience with Heidi she was extremely busy but always found a moment to take care of us. She was very friendly and attentive. We felt well taken care of. As far as pricing I still find it to be way over priced. 3 meals totaling over $55 seems a bit excessive for breakfast on plastic plates. Food quality is average we did enjoy our meals but we find that for the money expected more. I will come back however on a very limited basis due to cost. Went today (3/9/19) for brunch. Couldn't believe how quick our service was....in a great way! We called ahead to see the wait, which was 30 minutes. We used Yelp to get on the waitlist. When we showed up, we were the next party on the waitlist to be called, we maybe waited 3 minutes. Just enough time to write on the wall! Once we were sat, we were greeted immediately and drink orders went in within minutes. Ps. The House Mimosa is large and super tasty, my fiancé loved his Blood Mary too! I ordered the "Benny on the Fence", you get two different styles of Eggs Benedict! I had the Heidi's Veggie Bennie and the Bacon Bennie. Both were delicious! Fresh avocado, plenty of vegetables, and a ridiculous amount of bacon on the bacon Benny. Next time I'll probably just go for that! Also had a side of potatoes, "Otis Style", with cheese and onions. Everything was fantastic! My fiancé had a half order of the Biscuits and Gravy, which was delicious. Nice warm fluffy biscuits, and a well seasoned and flavorful sausage gravy that absolutely smothered the plate. He also had a side of Otis Style potatoes as a side and loved everything! Service was fast, and I mean fast! From the time we ordered, our food was piping hot and on the table within 15 minutes! I have never had such fast service at a sit down restaurant. It was unreal! They overcharged my wife, charging her over $100 for 4 breakfast items. She realized after she left and called them. They kept putting her on hold and not answering her. She called back the next day and they said they would refund $20 bucks. When she picked up the money they were rude and tried shamming her. Put my name on the list around 10:30am and was told there is an hour wait. That's fine, it's small and options are limited on a Sunday at prime brunch time. Got my table at noon, half an hour past the estimated time. Waited to put my order in until 12:15. Didn't get food until 12:48, husbands order was wrong but didn't want to send it back because things were so slow. We were not checked on until we were almost done with our plates, seriously 3 bites left each. No water refills, no offers for another drink, nothing. It took a total of 2 hours and 45 minutes to get a turkey sandwich and a wrong breakfast order. Took the scenic route home from Reno and decided to check this place out; not sorry! It's quirky, vibrant, and staffed with super friendly folks. Often when you arrive at a restaurant 1/2 hour before closing time you expect to be told there's a limited number of items still available, and you get the distinct feeling you are being rushed the whole time. Not so here! My wife and I had no trouble at all getting what we wanted and everything was delicious--enjoyed in an unhurried atmosphere. Babe and I made a last minute breakfast dash here one Sunday for the first time last week. It wasn't too bad. It was popping with people. So loud and a little crowded. Floor and tables were sticky and dusted with bits of food which wasn't very appealing but we understood that it was busy for them. We tried the stuffed French toast and a scrambler called The Hangover. The toast was overly coated in straight cinnamon which made it hard to eat. It over powered everything else, straight cinnamon is quite potent. The Hangover was definitely the better choice with the exception of the mushroom sauce they served on the side. It was a terrible color and consistency. As though it sat out for too long under a heat lamp. When we were finished and our bill was brought by what I am assuming was the owner or manager and she noticed the nasty pile of goo they had served us and apologized for it. We appreciated that. The menu is vast. Lots of different options. Good mix of things. They offer calorie conscious and health conscious choices. A feature that is hard to find in our town. I think we are willing to return and try a few more things out but it is more expensive so if we do return. We hope to be seated in a cleaner area and served food we can thoroughly enjoy. Came in with my son on a Saturday morning. It was moderately busy... not packed or with a significant waiting list. The staff (at least the wait staff) is all female (at least this day) no gender balance. No guys except in the kitchen. Seems a bit misandrist at a glance... The young woman that was supposed to attend our table...Rosalie had to be flagged down to come to our table after a good 10 minutes. She seemed irritated at the fact that I called her over. ( no eye contact and a bit snappy when communicating) After bringing our drinks she proceeds to go and huddle with another waitress by the kitchen... they seem to be talking and saying some odd stuff occasionally throwing strange glances towards us. It's obvious they are talking about us and their body language is telling. Not profesional or respectful at all. I am a professor at UNR and deal with young people very much like this. I am certainly aware of their generational dilemma. Over confident believing they are on a superior basis because of technology and the hubris of youth. But unfortunately they don't know half as much as they think they do and commit asinine mistakes... I get it. I was young like then once too. But respect is important and learning to be kind to your elders. All the girls in the restaurant started to be really nice once they saw me typing away on this little artifact. How sad and how disappointing. To think that the only way to garnish a bit of respect is under the threat of social media exposure. A little to late and dishonest to my taste. If this little knitting circle was lucky enough to ever be in one of my classes they would be thought a life lesson in manners and respect. Their grade, the significance of it on their transcript, and the weight of their reputation in the aftermath of the class to the rest of the faculty would be what's a stake. In other word... life changing type of decisions that can affect someone for the rest of their life. There are no little moments. And no. Don't take anyone for granted. Dear Rosalie... please get it together! a simple and nice gesture at the beginning of every interaction is worth it's weight in gold. Absolutely HORRIBLE. This is the absolute worst restaurant to order from. You could not pay me enough money to eat here again. Tried going online to order ahead but beware, they add on huge taxes and fees. $10 in taxes and "fees" on my order under $38. I opened the tab to break it down further, only $2 in taxes and $8 in fees? I figured this must be an added on tip. I then looked more closely, they add ANOTHER 15% for tip. This made a total of $16 they added on to my order! I normally only tip a few dollars for pick up orders, and that's meant for the cooks. I'm not being served or waited on so why am I required to pay a service fee? I then canceled the entire order and called over the phone to place the order instead, hoping to avoid the extra charges. Still, when my husband picked up the food, we were charged $6 for tip. Unacceptable to me. Moving onto the food, I was absolutley disgusted. The chileaquiles were so extremely sour, they were inedible. I've had chileaquiles from 10+ restaurants in this town as well as 30+ other places around the state and these are by far the worst. I then ordered poaches eggs. Stuck my fork into it to break open the yolk and has runny, snotty whites pour all over my food instead. As if that didn't ruin my appetite enough, they throw in this unmentioned side of scraps. It looks to have black beans, zucchini, onion etc. 80% of the plate was filled with this tasteless cheap scrap and I was given a tiny 20% portion of chileaquiles. Not that it truly mattered anyways since I couldn't eat either one. I figured my side of fruit would save the day but BOY WAS I WRONG. Let me first mention, the $2 upcharge to sub your hashbrowns for this small, cheap fruit cup. But also, before I even opened the cup, I could see a hair very obviously on top. I then opened the cup to confirm a black hair was all over my fruit. And yall want an automatic 15% tip? This is why I do not support automatic added gradituity! I got two bites of food for $50!!! Chose the restaurant due to it being pet friendly and having outdoor seating. The gentleman I spoke to on the phone was super friendly and what made us chose this restaurant over another nearby pet friendly restaurant. He ended up being our waiter. We were greeted and seated promptly; all staff was super friendly and most accommodating with our puppy. The kids both got the stuffed French toast topped w/strawberries. They were both super happy. Only negative thing is the strawberries all looked past their prime to me. I personally wouldn't have eaten them; I'm not into mushy fruit. The hubs got the Mini Morris because he said he wasn't very hungry. He is a big eater.... this dish was still large but he ate it all and was super happy. I chose the Racy Tracy, w/a side "sauce" as the waiter called it. His recommendation to try the tomato pesto. So glad I took his suggestion as that pesto was so delish!!!! The egg portion of my omelette was a little over cooked, but I love the insides of an omelette the best so a cut a little of the egg and had it w/all the stuffing and that amazing pesto. I had the option of a side; home fries, hashbrowns or fruit. I went Low Carb in January, it's now mid May.... I decided to get the home fries thinking someone at the table would eat.... they were perfectly golden and looked to be twice fried; the best kind. I did eat 2 and they were fabulous. We all had so much food no one ended up eating my potatoes.... I neglected to get photos! Staff was great about refills on soft drinks, water and iced tea. Not only that, but by the time they finally brought my dish, they forgot the side dish and brought it even later. Waitress was friendly the couple (literally 2 times) of times she came to our table, but she was busier hanging out and joking around with some girl at another table. We've been to the Truckee location and Carson. This review is a reflection of purvrecsntbvist to Carson. This is a nice place to have a very nice and filling breakfast. The variety of choices is good although navigating the menu can be challenging, but I think it's part of how they get you to look through the variety. Both our dishes were very good as usual and generous, but the service was lacking. They need to get that waitstaff more attunded to the customers.
