We have been coming to Cowboys Café for a few months now I've already done a review, but thought I would add another one. Cowboys Café is on the north end of town in Minden Nevada. You really have to look. Or you will gonna miss turning into it because it's in a very small plaza. There is a sign outside that says Cowboys Café, but you really gotta kind of look for it. This morning, as we were eating there, I was thinking that this place reminds me of an old style truckstop. You walk in and it's a real western flavor. There's a bar seating and booth seating and tables. The walls are decorated with different kinds of rifles and all kinds of different western style decorations, which is really cool. You're always greeted warmly by the staff. The place gets pretty packed at times, especially on Sundays. But we always seem to get a seat. If we wait it's not usually a very long wait and the food is very much worth the wait. I've been slowly working my way through the menu since we've been coming here. I've had the chicken fried steak. I've had the pancakes. I believe we've even stopped in there for lunch and I had a really good cheeseburger. I've also tried the chili. That is very good. This morning I tried the linguiça with eggs and man it was amazing. They have the best home fries anywhere. The coffee is always good and it's strong the way I like it. So if you haven't been in here, you need to get in here and give these guys a try and I guarantee you'll be coming back. read more

What a fantastic place! The food arrived quickly. It was piping hot. Prepared exactly the way it was ordered. I'm SUPER picky about my hash browns. I had the Chile Colorado with a fried egg and home fries. It was delicious. I recommend it. The rest of my party had an omelet and a Ruben sandwich. We were really happy with the food. They couldn't smile if their life depended on it. I will gladly go down the street to Sharkey's and have someone pleasant wait on me for less money. Cowboy's Cafe This is a review for my dining experience at Cowboy's Cafe. My family and I went to grab brunch at around 10:30am on a Saturday. Business was poppin! It was busy, but we arrived just in time to get a table for three with no wait. We ordered the chicken fried steak with extra crispy hash browns, a side of pancakes, chocolate chip pancakes, and a breakfast burger. Everything was delicious! I loved my chicken fried steak! It was a huge portion and the meat was thick and flavorful. The gravy that was paired with it was tasty as well! The side of pancakes were great! I loved how the butter was room temperature, so it was easy to spread on with the syrup. Service was excellent! Our server was very attentive and had a positive attitude. She checked on our meal and made sure we had everything we needed! I had a pleasant experience at Cowboy's Cafe and I am looking forward to dining there again with the cowboys and cowgirls! We absolutely loved this perfect little country cafe! The food was so good, just what you'd expect in a western town coffee shop. This was my first time here and I will NEVER be back again . I couldn't believe how rude the waitress was (large white female, about 42 years old, with died blonde/brown hair in pony tail) was to me..... I simply asked for an extra egg to be placed on my plate instead of my fiancé's plate and she was extremely condescending, rude and sarcastic. As a combat military veteran and retired Police Sgt I'm appalled as to how I was treated and talked to. To say my PTSD was severely triggered would be a vast understatement. Everyone was friendly, attentive and inviting. I mean, they weren't fawning over us, but we got what we needed when we wanted it. I was itching for some good biscuits and gravy and they have a meal with the whole shebang, The Cowboy Benedict, and man, did it hit the spot! It is definitely a hole in the wall, greasy spoon type place, which I love! Reminded me of Saugus Cafe in Santa Clarita, Ca, the oldest restaurant in Los Angeles County, where I live. This places is awesome. If you ever come to Minden or are passing through you have to stop at this gem. The place is a bit rustic but the food and service is incredible. If you order the Cowboy Benedict, you better be hungry as it is a lot of food. The biscuits are light and fluffy, the sausage has a nice smoky flavor, and the gravy is rib sticking delicious. How sad! Years ago this was my favorite breakfast spot. Unfortunately, today was so different! My Cowboy special was like rubber. Rubber eggs and rubber cheese! This restaurant makes a good breakfast but I've had lunch there 3 times & definitely not impressed with the food. The last time I was there I ordered a patty melt with French fries. The fries were oily & limp...I was honestly shocked that they would serve them to a customer. I called the waitress over & she said "oh yeah there must be something wrong with the fryer". I love this restaurant. Great western theme inside. The food has always been good and the service is good as well. The restaurant is usually busy, so you might have to wait during peak breakfast time. They are only open for breakfast and lunch. I had a delicious breakfast that the waitress recommended to me, telling me it was her favorite on the menu. Ok, Im your Huckleberry. I think it was called Cowboy eggs benedict. Eggs, a really good homemade biscuit, with a tasty gravy, sausage patty on the biscuit and maybe something else i cant remember. It was very good! I would definetly order this again! We will come to Genoa every year. Twice we have been by the Cowboy Cafe and it was closed. Today we were able to get in! The waitress asked for our drinks and I had Hot Water, my husband cold water. Then they brought the menus. The food was great and lots of it. However, when we asked for the check we discover they charged me $2 for hot water. I asked the waitress about it and she said it is on the menu that way. I told her we ordered drinks before getting the menu. The person in charge said they would not remove the charge. We will not go back again. We felt that it was an unjust charge since no one told us about it and the drinks were ordered before we got menus to seethe charge. Delish! Looked for a nice place for breakfast before hitting the mountains again. Seemed like a great local place. We called in and ordered pick up. Food was ready in 15 minutes. They were allowing indoor dining with tables spread out but we still took it to go. I ordered the veggie omelette with hash browns and my partner had the 2 egg special with sausage and hash browns.
