The Tahoe Blue is a hot albacore tuna melt on grilled sourdough with cheddar. Both came with a side as advertised, salad on my plate and fries on my wife's with Ranch dressing to dip the fries in. Portions were generous and the bread is amazing and baked in-house daily. The bakery case is one of many reasons to come back....! Coffee cakes, croissants, cookies, fruit tarts, and packaged loaves were all out and labeled. We bought croissants and cookies to take back to camp and they traveled (and ate) well....! The one real drawback is the building. The bakery and restaurant share a door with C.O.D. Casino next door. When that door opens, cigarette smoke comes into the dining and bakery area. The restroom is also on the casino side. That does not change the quality of the sandwiches or pastry, but it is noticeable and it is worth knowing before you sit down, especially if you are sensitive to smoke or bringing food out for a trip. Note: they do have outdoor seating. We love having this place close to home and will use it again for lunch and bakery takeout for sure! My one friend described the filet she got as a "hockey puck"!!! He also made a point of telling me how you have to make enough of EVERYTHING for EVERYONE since you won't know what people will eat. **Disappointing Experience at Cook'd in Minden**…read more We had a group of 11 of us traveling on a motorcycle road trip and were looking for a nice place to stop for lunch while passing through Minden. We chose Cook'd because the restaurant looked clean and inviting in the photos, and the menu looked very good. We arrived on a Saturday around 12:30 p.m. We were warmly greeted and seated together in the front dining room. The restaurant did not appear particularly busy, with plenty of open tables. Unfortunately, that's where our positive experience started to decline. Our server took our drink orders, but there was a significant delay before we received them. When it came time to order our food, we were told that the restaurant would not allow separate checks. For a group of 11, we would have needed only six checks, which seems like a reasonable request. Anyone who has traveled with a large group knows how difficult it can be to divide one large bill fairly. Trying to determine each person's food, drinks, tax and tip individually is a hassle that the restaurant could easily avoid by simply providing separate checks. In my opinion, if a restaurant chooses to require one check for a group, it should have a good reason--and the service should be organized enough to justify that policy. We were told in the past by other restaurants that large groups sometimes have to use one check so the kitchen can coordinate the meals and have everything come out together. Unfortunately, that certainly wasn't our experience at Cook'd. Our meals came out in pieces, with some people finished eating before others had received their food. The biggest problem was that **one person's meal never came out at all**. We eventually had to track down our server and the manager to find out what happened. When the meal finally arrived, it was cold. We asked if the meal could be removed from the bill. The server initially said she couldn't do that but would check with the manager. To the restaurant's credit, the manager did agree to remove the meal from the bill. Unfortunately, the billing problems continued. After we finally received our bill, the restaurant agreed to separate it into two checks. However, the tip was then **double-charged, resulting in a 36% tip**. We had to catch the error ourselves. The entire experience was frustrating and, frankly, unacceptable. We came in expecting a pleasant lunch at what appeared to be a nice restaurant, but the slow and inattentive service, meals arriving at different times, a missing and cold meal, and the billing/tip issue made the experience much more difficult than it should have been. I hope the management at Cook'd takes this review as constructive criticism. The restaurant itself has a nice appearance, the menu looked appealing, and the staff was initially friendly. With better organization, more attentive service, and a better system for handling larger groups and their checks, this could be a much better experience for customers. For our group, however, this lunch was a total fiasco and certainly not the experience we expected.

This is not what happened- it came out a fat drippy bacon strip stuck into my cheese of my omelette... hubby grabbed it off quickly. I was so grossed out by this- normally I would want to send it back- but got the vibe if I had the kitchen might have done something undesirable to my meal... and it wasn't worth the hassle Hubby ordered the chicken fried steak and a side bacon waffle- he made his own chicken and waffles. There were some weird things happening in our unit during our stay. The fire alarm went off at 4:20 am one of the mornings- completely woke us up from a dead sleep. We didn't see people evacuating or hear any announcements. Apparently it wasn't the whole building/ not sure exactly what happened. We talked with some ladies in the hot springs who were a floor above us- they never hear the alarm. The jacuzzi in our room wouldn't turn on jets when I tried it. This was during a thunderstorm-so the hot springs were out of the question. The front desk was caring and offered to send maintenance- but I had already added my essential oils and soak mixture- so I just needed to soak at that point. I'm sure they have resolved these issues after we checked out. We enjoyed the spaciousness of the room- as well as the large deck for sunrise, sunset, and watching the stars and clouds. Plenty of parking in the lot The hot springs were cleaner in the mornings- so not sure if that happens 1x a day, We went in the first night- but lots of debris in the tubs Cleaner next morning. We also had red about different temperatures on the different hot spring pools/ did not find a difference in temperature Also, the jets are not turned on for the hot springs. Apparently this happened years ago. There is a morning water aerobics class Monday and Wednesday at 8. This seems to be popular. We enjoyed eating at the restaurant on the property the first night. We had to sit in the bar area due to a large party booking the whole dining room- this was one of the best meals we had while in the area- just wish they were open more days. My sister and I stay here two to three times a year for sisterly time. Though rustic and in need of…read moremaintenance we truly enjoy this place. However, the last three times there has been a terrible and law breaking issue. I am in a wheelchair and need the pool chair lifts to access hot springs and pools. Three times these have not been working. The first time they were not fixed at all and ultimately were replaced. I could not use any of the pools. The last time, just last week, none were working again. Day one I was asked to wait, in the sun while batteries were found. An hour and a half later I was a mess but they got the pool lift working, but not the hot spring one. The ride in a wheelchair from Building A or B is scary and dangerous as the pavements everywhere are rough and have pot holes , Insurmountable curbs and rocks. And mud. ADA compliance is way off! I have not filed a formal complaint as yet, but will the next time. The fine is $75000 for the first violation and the pools will be closed to everyone until they are in compliance. I have told the manager about all this as well as how dangerous moving around the campus is when wheelchair bound. Guess they are waiting for an injury to happen before they do needed repairs to the sidewalks and curb cut outs. The curb cut out for access to the check in and office in Building B is too step and canted so much that it can easily cause a user to tip over. So far I have found people parking in front of it so there is no access, even though it is marked well by blue paint. A wheelchair user has to go around the building to another cut out quite far from the office. The office doors are manual only, opening out. Possible, but very difficult to gain access and there are two sets of doors.
