Burnt French toast, wife wouldn't let me take photos of the rest of our gross breakfast
    Brian K.

I used to love this place but today's sad excuse for a breakfast is my last time, over easy eggs came over cooked French toast were the end pieces dry and burnt, my bacon was put in deep fryer and cooked so long it shattered like glass when I picked it up, my wife's chili R omelette was wet and soggy from way too much canned onions and tomatoes that weren't drained, her hash browns were burnt to a crisp on the outside and soggy inside and tasted like burnt bits off an unclean flat grill. As locals we were aghast at what we paid 50 dollars for....

This place was recommended by a local

They don't have anything under control. No hostess, service SLOW and inefficient, food dreadful!! See pictures of undercooked bacon, burned biscuits, undercooked potatoes swimming in grease and what they laughing call gravy. Place still decorated like the French bistro that actually worked. Waitress had the nerve to complain when we tried to leave when the food was barely touched, just shifted for pictures. Total failure!

Woodett's Diner This is a review for my dining experience at Woodett's Diner. SERVICES: We were seated right away The server was attentive They serve breakfast and lunch 7:00am-2:00pm MENU The prices were fair PANCAKE COMBO Served until 11am -pancakes, eggs, and your choice of meat I ordered over medium eggs and sausage links -sausage links were good BISCUITS AND GRAVY -There was not a lot of sausage chunks in the gravy, instead there were a lot of herbs -As for the biscuit, when I bit into it...I was expecting a buttery, thick bite but it fell short...I felt like it was a pancake texture HOUSE POTATOES -Nothing special -I requested it to be crispy, but it was bland-no seasoning and it was just shredded potatoes ******BILL Beware! There is a 50cent charge for a to go box -I was surprised with that additional charge -What if you order a big entree and want to eat it as leftovers? -Why are you being so wasteful? -We noticed there were tons of plates with food on it when the diners left and they were cleaning the tables, now I know why -I already paid for my food and now you're going to charge me for a dinky to-go box so that I can bring home my food that I didn't finish?! SUGGESTIONS: -Disclose to your patrons that there is a 50cent charge for a to-go box -Add more meat to the gravy mixture All in all I was underwhelmed with my experience at Woodett's. I don't see myself going back again.

Omelette Savoyarde (front) & Pavement Scraper (bk)

Food was reasonably priced for how much food you receive, & the house coffee was super delish! He had the "Pavement Scraper." I was impressed by the lack of grease I saw on his plate, despite there being 4 meats, including chorizo. He said flavor was good, just hoped for a little salsa for more moisture. (However, the table did have Cholula or Tabasco, if desired.) For my Omelette Savoyarde, potatoes were thin-sliced, cooked beautifully, & complimented the gruyere. The bacon was also finely chopped with no major, fatty chunks, which I appreciated. I didnt realize since the omelet contained potatoes, I was also getting more potatoes on the side! However, no worries, as I took those home for leftovers because the omelet was plenty to fill me up. Overall, our experience was pleasant.

OMG..... a real fine dinning experience! Service, quality of meal preparation & 5 STAR FOOD! Amazing! The service staff, wonderful, served the woman first, cleared plates as finished each course ! Everything was choreograph to a T! The Chef & wife came out to meet & thank everyone for coming, what an experience! Fine dining at it 's best ! Outstanding! (Woodett's Bistro's) once a month evening dinning! Do not miss this Jewel

A friend invited me to meet him at Woodett's Diner for breakfast a few days ago. I've been on this biscuits and gravy kick for about a month now and decided to order the biscuits and gravy. It was good. One biscuit was on the dry side but they gave me plenty of gravy to soak up the biscuits. The biscuits and gravy came with a side of eggs and two strips of bacon. It was good and filling. Even though I tried, I couldn't finish it all. My kid ordered off the kid's menu and got the pancakes. He really liked it. He always likes pancakes though. The place was clean and the service was excellent. The next time I'm in the area, I'll try something different. I've been told that their huevos rancheros was good. Maybe I'll give that a try on my next visit.

    Special: powdered cinnamon roll

Woodett's is a delightful gem that we eagerly anticipate visiting whenever we're in the area. If only we lived closer, it would definitely become our weekly breakfast spot! Our journey here began with a recommendation from a vet at Carson Valley Animal Hospital, and every dish we've tried has been nothing short of impressive. And let me tell you, their cinnamon rolls are an absolute must-try!

I think they try too hard to be 'fancy' the chicken fried steak gravy had thyme in it, which just didn't work. Keep it simple.

Donna, my apologies, my husband forgot about the shirts, but tomorrow morning, (Saturday) he will drop off the shirts at Woodetts.

    Are they dog friendly?

    Yes we are.

Do they still have homemade cornbeef hash?

My burger and fries were SPECTACULAR, and any chance to eat beer cheese is a good time for me. Also, my mom with her gluten allergy, said that throughout her years of terrible gluten free alternatives, this one was the most amazing, tasty, and was hard to believe it wasn't full of gluten, but somehow it was, and it was awesome! We sat outside, and they have a nice seating area, a lot of games in a grassy area and a few others scattered around, as well as a fire pit to give it a chill atmosphere Staff was extremely helpful, friendly, and honestly made a really good impression on us before we even started talking. The receptionist let us know that they are closed Mondays and Tuesdays. So we decided to try it out first night. We were ready to be out of the car for the day and just walk over. We were told by the hostess that the restaurant was closed to a large party for a family reunion until 7:30, but we could order off the full menu at the bar. We were very happy with our experience here. The bartender/server was very welcoming and friendly. He first said they were in the middle of changing over their wine and beer offerings and was ready to share today's offerings. He didn't rush us at all on ordering and timed out our appetizer, salad, then main course perfectly. We started with the stuffed button mushrooms- so yummy. Then we shared a ceaser salad with large grilled prawns on top- he had the kitchen split it in the back for us. Such a nice touch My hubby ordered the bison burger MR- it was cooked perfectly and the fries were hot and crispy I ordered the DWR veggie pasta- so, so yummy. I'm still thinking about it days later dnd hoping to get in here to eat again before we leave. The sauce is so lemony and perfect. It's a huge portion- so I was able to take more then 1/2 back to our condo with me and work on over the next few days. Our server took time to welcome us and visit with us when he wasn't busy. Also sharing some of his favorite other restaurants in the area so we had places to eat on the days 1862 is closed. The restaurant is tastefully decorated and clean. As was the restroom. We came kind of late, around 8:30pm and had a party of 8, and at first they said they could not seat us but then Paula (who I assume is the manager) was able to get us in at 9:00pm and she was so kind and personable! The table and chairs we sat at were nice and study and the dining area of the restaurant was just as nice as the entrance. Our server was friendly and attentive and our wait was reasonable. Now for the negatives. Unfortunately the food was not a hit for anyone in our party. My sister-in-law got the chicken pasta and gave it a 2.5/5, she aid the chicken was overcooked, the sauce was runny, and it wasn't very flavorful. I got the Brussel Sprouts and my husband and I give them a 3/5, they were soft but not crispy and the flavor was okay. The Mac & Cheese was a 2/5 on its own but much better when we added salt/pepper, it also had no flavor but the texture was perfect. My 3 kids all got a kids pizza and they all barely ate any so I'd give another 2/5, they said they remind them of the pizza they get at school. My husband's meat pizza was also a 2/5, the crust seemed like maybe it wasn't all the way cooked & he said it tasted like a frozen pizza. My nephew gives the kids grilled cheese a 3/5. And my brother said the chicken BLT was good and he gives it a 4/5 and said he would order it again. Lastly, I ordered a wedge salad but it never came, also after I brought it to my waitresses attention she forgot to take it off the bill, but she quickly fixed it at the end and again was very kind. Unfortunately we will not be going back even though we are staying at the resort next door. We just feel for the price we would like to try other places in Tahoe instead. But I think they are worth a try if you're at the resort.

Before you get there, decide how many tacos you want to eat. There will be temptation, stick to your guns. The quick and efficient service may tempt you into an extra taco, resist. Develop the plan, work the plan, stay on the plan. The same goes for weenie Wednesday. The waitress explained it to us once. The owner secures Casper brand hot dogs, bring them over the hill weekly, and the hot dog is designed to snap when you bite into it. I'm convinced this is a covert plan to get you to change your plan. I wish you the best of luck here. The weenie Wednesday menu reflects a variety of flavors that will tempt you into deviating from the plan. I've never heard of a Reuben dog, or a Caesar dog. When I grew up, I had mustard dogs. These dogs are way beyond that and the venue tempts you to try new versions of different hot dogs. One of my excuses the last time I had weenie Wednesday was that " sauerkraut is good for my gut biome." So on taco Tuesday and weenie Wednesday, you could be tempted into a second round. That's not a good thing. The service has been fun, the environment, friendly, and welcoming, people laughing throughout the room, enjoying their food. Makes it a great experience. Oh heck, you're in the building you're hungry, change the plan, enjoy.

I had asked for syrup and powdered sugar on the side as we try to limit sugar for our toddler and I was appalled that this waffle was literally a glazed donut. My husband and I ordered the classic, but paid $1 extra each to turn it into a bagel sandwich. The bagel was incredibly dry, the bagel was bacon bits that were falling off the bagel, the cheese was shredded cheese that was not even fully melted, and there were a few pieces of scrambled egg that were ok.
