Great spot for a cocktail when you're in Minden! $6 IPA and several food options. Great spot and very friendly service.

    Inside. Nice and cool.

Cute place, simple food, brief menu but what we ordered was Yummy. This is more of a drinking place so I'd assume the drinks are probably pretty good too. We don't drink so it was super cheap. Roast beef sandwich with pasta salad and jumbo hot dog. Nice place to hang out. Lots of customers drinking at bar or watching sports on TVs.

    Meatball slider - sooo satisfying!!

Once again with my trusty Yelp app in hand up pops The Corner Bar and this was a GREAT FIND! Not only were the reviews true about them on Yelp but also on other Social Media venues and they did NOT disappoint. Small local corner bar with a warm, inviting exterior with sports memorabilia all around. The service we received was beyond friendly and welcoming - the server/waitress ROCKS here and we have enjoyed coming back to see her and YES she's remembered us too! For drinks I have had 'the' PERFECT Raspberry Vodka Press each time I've come here and my hubby opts for a craft beer of his choice (usually what his palate is up for that evening). Now to the AMAZING food that also brought us here - first the JUMBO Shrimp Cocktail - ummm oxymoron, yep we all know the pun and what not, but if you dream of the PERFECT Jumbo Shrimp Cocktail with celery cut to the precise size that (okay I'm losing it over here - MUST GOOOO BACK FOR ANOTHER SOON!) is the right balance of celery to cocktail sauce ratio - yep PERFECTION! Our Gal/Server Extraordinare told us about their Meatball Sliders and that they were AMAZING plus she could get those out pretty quick if we would like to give those a try so ummm yeppers!! WE WERE IN! When this Bite-sized Slider arrived it looked and smelled amazing - the melted mozzarella, marinara and the meatball were seasoned and tasted DIVINE! Next we carefully looked over the pizza choices and then selected the Margherita Pizza and once again with some of our wonderful server advice we opted to add prosciutto. When our personal size pizza arrived it was tastyyyy- OH YEAH!! The crust was crisp to perfection, the toppings were hot, cheese melty and the flavors - OMTASTY!! YES!! the reviews are spot on for ONE OF THE BEST PIZZA'S AROUND!! We have made the point to pop in again and have Meatball Sliders of course and tried the Pizza of the night - and we were once again ELATED with both service and food plus our drink choices. And we will DEFINITELY be back again and again - maybe make one of the Wednesday Trivia nights too. Happy Yelping Everyone!

Mushrooms, Roasted Red Peppers and Procuitto Pizza

My friend, daughter and I had never been here so we decided to give it a try. We happened to go on Wednesday trivia night. We were asked if we had come in for the trivia which we told them it was our first time there. We were encouraged to play. We came in last place but had fun participating. Our server was amazing. Super friendly personalty. She suggested the stuffed mushroom which were so yummy. Our personal pizzas were cooked to perfection with just enough of the crust crispy. I added procuitto to my pizza and it was delicious! I wish there were a few more items on the menu to choose from but consider the size of the kitchen I realize that offer a few amazing things and keep it simple might be their goal. We will be back!

I ordered the roast beef sandwich with pasta salad. Both are pretty good. Pricing is fair as well. Great service.

I checked this place out in the afternoon before deciding to go to dinner there. It looked pretty casual in the menu look like something everybody would enjoy. When we got there, we were greeted nicely and our server, JC, was very nice. All of the food was bountiful. We ordered the appetizer with three different items which was pretty good. It was onion rings, fried zucchini, and fried mozzarella sticks. The zucchini was a little undercooked. On to the main courses. It took longer than we would think and they brought it out in pieces. The two men got theirs first and my daughter and I got hers a few minutes later and Grandma was served last. Grandpa ordered a steak sandwich and he said it was good. My husband ordered a Philly cheese steak, which she said was decent. Grandma ordered fish and chips and she said it was so so. The french fries were thick steak type that were really good. A couple of us tried them. My daughter and I were excited when we saw the lobster tacos and we ordered them. The chips that came with them were salty beyond belief! We could not even eat them. When I told JC, she said there's nothing they could do about the chips and she offered to take the salad off the bill which I thought was nice. Both of my daughter and I could not eat the chips. The lobster tacos were not good. If the corn tortillas were warmed or cooked, it must've been very, very little. The lobster was chopped up in a wait and mixed with some kind of sauce that we can barely taste the lobster. We got two tacos and barely ate one. We took them home, but it didn't seem worth it to try to mend this. The best thing I can say is that the people they were very welcoming and pleasant. Also, JC gave my father-in-law a lemon bar for his birthday as we walked out. That was really sweet. Lastly, make sure you bring cash because you have to pay extra for using a card. We have to pay over $6 extra because we used a card. Am I understanding is that is happening a lot in restaurants. So, I don't think this is unusual.

We loved this place so much that we were impressed with ourselves the day that we did NOT make a stop by this bar, and perhaps we even stopped by twice if eating in Genoa. You walk in (by the way, look like a regular, and PUSH the very low doorknob, not pull like I did initially) and immediately know it is dripping with history, divey-ness, and awesomeness. The crowd comes in waves, as it is a popular drop-in for people coming through town as well as many very welcoming and friendly locals. Actually, I want to say again how awesome the regulars were. Not sure how I would feel if constant tourist dropped in my homestead, but everyone we talked to who was local was awesome and inviting. The bar had an IPA for me. They have a pool table. They have a jukebox (which defaulted to glam rock when we were there, so I LOVED that). They have cool merch. They have some awesome stuff on walls and ceiling. They have some fantastic mixed drinks, including one of the better Bloody Mary's my wife has had as well as a unique, tasty hot drink (Hot Buttered Buccaneer Drink). They have a spacious outdoor area. They don't have food, but we had a burger and burger salad (wife) from the food truck there, and it was stellar. The fries were great too. Back to the bar though. And, every bartender who served us during the week gave us friendly, efficient, perfect service. Once we realized that South Tahoe was irritatingly tourist overpopulated at this time of year, we decided to attend this cool candle-lighting tradition they did on NYE there instead of figuring out logistics over the pass. The event was SOOOO cool, and they even had a fun band later that night that they somehow packed into the jukebox corner. Hope I don't forget anyone. Whether you get Syd, Gabby, Candi, Dee, Carrie, or Ginger (the only one I didn't meet personally), you will love your experience here. They were all rock stars during our visits. I can't say enough good things about this bar, it really made "our South Tahoe trip," and you should swing by if in the area. I highly recommend this place, and see you there (the next time we are in the area)...

We knew it wasn't going to be crowded and the food will be fresh, but it was so much more than that. Overland is lucky to employ Tennessee, who might just be the best server in the Carson Valley. I grant you that we haven't been to every restaurant and we haven't had every server and so it could be hyperbole to try to tell you that he's the best, but we need to be sure to let you know that he is clearly in the top percentile of quality, local servers. Why you ask. He anticipated our every need, and so we always had water, always had coffee, and he cleared every single time he got near the table. His positive energy is infectious. Yes, I can hear you now, what about the food? My wife can, on occasion, high maintenance, and this was one of those mornings. She ordered the Eggs Benedict without the bottom bread plus one more whole extra Eggs Benedict, and Tennessee didn't flinch. I ordered the vegetarian omelette and I had side breakfast potatoes. All of it tasted great. I even tried the hollandaise sauce on my wife's eggs Benedict and it tasted fresh and tasty. So, I say give Tennessee a raise, and when you go to the Overland, hope that you get seated in his section because it will be an experience that you won't forget soon, and the food is very good. Somehow, this breakfast restaurant is flying under the radar on Saturdays and Sundays. This young man was the best. We were brought chips and salsa, and we also requested the extra spicy for the Hubby. The mild was perfect for me. The chips were nice and crunchy with a great corn flavor. We did order a sangria for me and a margarita for the hubby. They have a really nice lunch menu with great prices and a very extensive regular menu. I ordered the #6 off the lunch menu. A chili relleno with the sauce on the side and a crispy ground beef taco. The rice was so good, great flavor as well as the refried beans. 5 stars for each of these. The taco was so full of meat (ground beef) and fresh veggies. The chilli relleno was huge and perfectly cooked. I get my sauce on the side so leftovers will not get soggy. Now this sauce was like a ranchero sauce, looked like onions, celery and maybe tomatoes in it. It was really tasty. Hubby got a #13 off the regular menu. 1 enchilada, he got ground beef, 1 crunchy taco with ground beef and a tamale which was shredded beef. I tried the tamale and it was very delicious.
