Some of the guys on my crew wanted to try their luck in the casino, so it just me and the one other girl on the crew for dinner and depends on if the guys win any money they'll eat later on their own. The dining room still looks just the same with nice booths along the big windows. We parked the big Suburban in the underground parking lot to keep it cool with this warm weather we have here. I wasn't super hungry, might have something to do with all those Doritos I ate on the road and at the hotel. But I did see these loaded potato skins appetizers for $8.99. You get five loaded skins with cheese onions and bacon. Bacon always sounds good. My friend ordered a small Margarita pizza, with cheese tomatoes and basil. The guys would have ordered the meat lovers pizza if they were here. The pizza was ordered crispy on the crust please. The food came out at the same time and my loaded potato skins looked tasty. I used the Parmesan cheese for the pizza on my potatoes. Yummers! Wow, these are some real nice skins! I can taste the bacon and cheese and onions all together. I'd really get this again! The Margarita pizza was beautifully cooked and the toppings were all evenly spaced. I took a bite and it was good. My friend was going on about this was one of the best pizzas she ever had. I'd guess I'd want more meat on mine! Now we'll see if the guys have any money left or if they won some! I'm gad we came here.

But at the same time, it would be silly to hear a server say bad things about the menu items to their guests. So, she was just doing her job. The bad - The food. Of all the things we ordered, the cheese curds were the best thing cuz...how could you go wrong with frozen items you throw in a fryer? Anyway, we also ordered the Fried Pickles. I enjoy fried pickles, but holy sh*t these were SALTY! These pickles were more like chips. They were actually light and crispy which is unusual as fried pickles are typically still soft and and keep their integrity after being fried in a batter. These, however were like, dehydrated pickles that were battered and deep fried. I really liked how crispy they were, but with how salty they were, we couldn't finish it. Chicken Pot Pie - one of the more popular dishes ordered. It looked great when presented. The top crust looked nice and thin like a cracker, but when I dug in, the filling was runnier than what I am used to. But more importantly, the flavor was off. I assume they use a frozen pie crust because it didn't taste buttery at all. It had a weird chemically taste. I missed having that rich buttery crust a pot pie should have. The filling didn't taste great either. Also, had a weird chemically taste to it. I almost think they use canned chicken based on the flavor and texture it had. I was so looking forward to a homey comforting pot pie. It's not often I get to eat one of these, but this one fell way short of my expectations. The Lamb Burger - My husband loves lamb and it's not often you see a lamb burger anywhere. He was so excited to have this, but was so disappointed after taking his first bite. He said it was so bland. I took a bite. And while it did taste of lamb, I agreed it lacked seasoning. Now, THIS needed some of the salt that were in those pickles. Lol! Foxy Fried Chicken - A panko fried chicken breast. It was good. Mashed potatoes were good and the veggies. I didn't expect this dish to be spicy though. I don't know if the cook went heavy handed on the pepper, but the veggies and mashed potatoes it was served with had a kick to them. Meh. All in all, we wouldn't return. There was nothing we had that made me feel like this place had potential and worth making another visit to. We did order quite a few things and everything, but the curds were lackluster and a disappointment.

I interacted with four different employees during our visit, and unfortunately, none of them seemed particularly attentive or concerned with taking care of our table. I have food allergies, so I ordered the pizza with dairy-free cheese. Unfortunately, it was really disappointing. The crust tasted stale, and the pizza overall did not seem fresh. My mom ordered a burger, and her fries were not warm either. The overall freshness and quality of the food just wasn't good. Since I was still hungry because I didn't find the pizza very appetizing, I asked for a side of avocado so I could at least have something else to eat. I waited over 20 minutes for it. When I asked our waitress about it, she said they had gotten backed up. Earlier, the manager had told me he would get the avocado for me, but instead he left to sit and talk with some people and never brought it. When the avocado finally came, it was honestly about the size of a Costco sample. It was literally one bite of avocado. Overall, the food was disappointing and the service was even more disappointing. Unfortunately, this was not the first impression of Carson City that I was hoping for, and I won't be returning.

Cool. Decision made. We stopped for lunch, so the place wasn't too busy. Orders placed, we awaited for our dishes. I can't tell you the disappoint we had when the brisket came to the table absolutely dry as a bone. Looking at the meat, it appeared that they took day old brisket and tried to re-heat it by grilling it even more over an open flame. What a bad decision. If you can't prepare your signature dish well, you are better off saying you are out. Don't knowingly serve a bad dish, hoping the customer won't notice. My wife ordered the brisket as well. Same dry meat. Same poor execution. Additionally, she tried the "corn bread". I put the corn bread in quotes because it should have been called super dry, crumble cake, that is supposed to resemble corn bread. Tragedy. Now in fairness, my dish, simple tacos were just fine and my cousin ordered the Salmon, which was also fine. If you are known for BBQ. You have to do the basics well...every time.
