The last time I came here to Bodine's restaurant was last Thanksgiving. Now, I'm here with my crew as we need us some food and while we're staying in Minden, I just couldn't think of anywhere I thought was any good that would keep the crew happy. Some of the guys on my crew wanted to try their luck in the casino, so it just me and the one other girl on the crew for dinner and depends on if the guys win any money they'll eat later on their own. The dining room still looks just the same with nice booths along the big windows. We parked the big Suburban in the underground parking lot to keep it cool with this warm weather we have here. I wasn't super hungry, might have something to do with all those Doritos I ate on the road and at the hotel. But I did see these loaded potato skins appetizers for $8.99. You get five loaded skins with cheese onions and bacon. Bacon always sounds good. My friend ordered a small Margarita pizza, with cheese tomatoes and basil. The guys would have ordered the meat lovers pizza if they were here. The pizza was ordered crispy on the crust please. The food came out at the same time and my loaded potato skins looked tasty. I used the Parmesan cheese for the pizza on my potatoes. Yummers! Wow, these are some real nice skins! I can taste the bacon and cheese and onions all together. I'd really get this again! The Margarita pizza was beautifully cooked and the toppings were all evenly spaced. I took a bite and it was good. My friend was going on about this was one of the best pizzas she ever had. I'd guess I'd want more meat on mine! Now we'll see if the guys have any money left or if they won some! I'm gad we came here. read more

4 for dinner. We were seated promptly in comfortable upholstered seats. Server arrived quickly. She was friendly and professional. We had 2 taco salads, chicken fried steak and grilled salmon. All the meals were very good. My grilled salmon was perfect. Crisp skin, seasoned perfectly, cooked fork tender to perfection and served hot. Never had any salmon cooked or tasting any better. No prime rib on a Saturday 8:00 pm, the casino was busy but when you drove by and see the prime rib deal, food shortages at this place.

The meals here are a steal! Fridays and Saturdays they offer a prime rib dinner after 4pm. Not the best cut of meat (parts were tough and chewy), but you can't really complain at the bargain basement price of $16.99 for an 8oz'er which included veggies, baked potato and your choice of a soup or salad. We got the clam chowder which was very good. A solid meal. I ordered the fish and chips ($11.99). The 3 pieces of fried fish were on point. The fries were boring. Time for trying Bodines chicken fried steak, well I can tell you the eggs were good, that was the breadiess chicken fried steak I've had so far. Guess I won't be ordering their chicken fried steak again. I also would prefer a more peppery gravy. The biscuit was nice but I never was a hockey puck fan no matter how good it is. The seafood was pretty good I guess, it was okay. The serving staff however were fantastic, they took my order promptly and got my food out to me in a very timely manner and very attentive for any needs I may have wanted. read more

Went for lunch on a Tuesday and it was pretty crowded, but got seat right a way. Had the potato skins and taco salad with shredded chicken. They were both good, not great. Also ordered a Kettle One Martini with lemon twist, but got a house vodka instead. But the price was good. Service was a little slow, but we weren't in a hurry so it was fine! We hadn't been to Bodine's in a while, but it is usually decent if not good. Last night was not so much. My mom and I both ordered the 8 oz NY Strip steaks. Our salads were good, fresh lettuce so that was a good start. I was happy when the steak came out because it looked pretty good. But then I tried to cut into it. So so tough! I felt like I was using a plastic knife. I managed to get a little piece off and it was gristly, I tried a couple more times from different parts of the steak but after my third bite I gave up. My mom's was just as bad, I think she managed to saw off two tiny pieces. No one came back to check on us until we were done. We both ate our baked potatoes instead, luckily they were large and well cooked. When our waiter asked if we wanted boxes, we said no and told him how bad the steaks were. He came back with the check, and I looked at it. Full price for both meals. I guess I was expecting some kind of discount? Maybe comp one meal? But nothing. He came back and asked if the check was right and I said, I thought you might have done something about the steak. He said he tried but his manager said that they had been touched, so there was nothing he could do. I was frankly surprised they didn't offer anything, free dessert, a coupon for next time, or even just the manager coming out to talk to us. My wife and I went to costco to shop in Carson City and gas up. We had stopped by Bodines casino and eaten previously. So naturally we thought let's eat there again. My wife ordered the turkey dinner and it was taco Tuesday so I had the tacos. The food was good but I hadn't expected the tacos to be like a real mexican restaurant. We are from california and have so many mexican food options. I was very surprised on how good the tacos were. My wife's Turkey dinner did not disappoint. My wife had me try it and it was excellent. The turkey dinner is real carved turkey and not some processed turkey. The taco plate was a little small for me but filling the turkey dinner plate however was more than big enough for my wife. We decided to gamble while we were there and had a few drinks. The drink attendants were on point. We could have easily gotten tanked we were looking to do that. They were quick to bring more drinks which for us was not something we were used to. When we would visit some of the bigger casinos in Lake Tahoe or Reno it would take forever to get a drink. We had a great time I played video poker and my wife played buffalo gold. I usually never win and I ended up hitting a royal flush on the progressive video poker game for 1200 which made my day. Their slot machines are a lot looser than other casinos. We play some table games at other casinos but we really didn't mind that they don't have table games at Bodines. The overall experience was 5 stars the waitress was great and the drink attendants were great also. I would definitely recommend this casino especially if you're getting gas or shopping at Costco in Carson city because it's literally right across the street. read more

I've been a customer of Bodine's for 11 years at this point and have always been impressed. I have brought friends, family, and clients here with excellent service and good food. This time was unfortunately different. Everyone at my table rated their food as a 7/10 due to either lacking flavor or being overcooked. I ordered the 12 ounce New York steak medium rare and even specified more on the rare side. It was more medium to medium well done. No big deal--mistakes happen. I asked our awesome server Sebastian to please have it remade. Next thing I know, the manager Naomi came out with a very snappy attitude at me saying "that is the definition of medium rare, but I can have them remake it." I apologized and said I would really appreciate it. The next steak they bring out is notably smaller than the first one so I took a picture of it to prove how small it is and asked the server to please correct the bill to reflect the smaller steak. Then I cut into it AND IT WAS EVEN MORE COOKED THAN THE FIRST and the vegetables were so cooked that they were shriveling up looking almost dehydrated on the surface. I told them it's fine, I'm not going to ask to have it remade because the rest of my party is half done eating. When the bill came it was not corrected and the manager came out saying "I hear you're upset about the price?" And I said "not really upset. It's just that although the first steak came out as a 12 oz. The second was 8." She said that she personally watched them pull it out of the 12 oz. Section and that steaks do shrink as they're cooked. I don't understand how two 12 oz steaks could shrink so differently in both thickness and width. I wish I had taken a picture of the first steak to compare. Please note the steak temperature guide attached in comparison to my actual steak. Not sure what her definition is of medium rare, but that is NOT "the definition of medium rare". I won't be back for a very long time if at all. read more

This place inside Bodines Casino has some of the better casino food in my opinion. This plate is on their $7.99 menu as well as about 5 other choices. I was expecting some prefab reshaped chicken patty for the price. Not at all. It was the most moist juiciest chicken breast I've had in a long time to the point i cut it with my fork. Mashed potatoes were delicious as were all the steamed veggies. The resraurant if your lucky to get into the back section is all windows so you get to see the beautful scenery outside. Mountain views are breathtaking to say the least. Our waitress was Cristina and she was the sweetest ever. On top of everything. Water was always full as was coffee and she was as pleasant as can be. Four of us just did not want to cook or clean up for Thanksgiving. Well, the only restaurants open on this holiday are in the casinos. I chose this one for the photos of prime rib and the reviews. A short 20 minute wait for a table. Then found out prime rib is only on the weekend. Oh well. They have six choices of dinners for only $7.99. Awesome price. We each got something different. One was the regular Turkey dinner, there was also a special Turkey dinner with more stuff but the extras were not needed. Looked good with four slabs of white meat Turkey smothered in gravy, mashed potatoes with gravy looked good too. Pork chops looked not so great, the veggies had no flair. Chicken enchiladas with rice and beans came with a pico de gallo, but it had jalapeños so I only tried Rays enchilada which was a bit bland without the pico. My plate was spaghetti and meatballs. I've never had spaghetti and meatballs on thanksgiving and guess what. They were yummy! The sauce was very nice. Our server, Guadalupe was very attentive, maybe even too fast, but given the number of people wanting to eat here this afternoon/early evening, she was just keeping the pace up. We were never left wanting for an iced tea refill. So, here is the reason for the review! The desserts!!! One of us had creme brûlée that sounded quite good but Ray and I shared the bread pudding!!! The scent was so reminiscent of the Dickens Fair over at the Cow Palace in Daly City, that eating it took me to merry olde London. It was super yummy!!! Moral of the story here. I heartily recommend the bread pudding at any time! I was not looking for Turkey. For some reason I just had fish and chips on my mind and with the weather so hot, Bodines was the place to go! With the underground parking, the car stays way cooler than parked in the blazing sun outside. I'd never had the fish and chips here before, but plenty of other menu items, from prime rib to pizza. The price of the fish and chips here is a lot lower than most restaurants charge these days for fish and chips, just $10.99. The fish and chips comes served in a basket with 3 deep fried pieces of what I think is cod on top of a bed of fries (chips). The order comes out fairly quickly. The food is very hot and the fish is very good. The outside is crispy and inside flaky as it should be. Doused with malt vinegar and salt it's wonderful. Maybe not as good as what's in London, but for Carson City a good choice if fish and chips is what you're looking for. Now I have another item on the list that Bodine's serves well. read more

We eat here fairly regularly. But the last few times have been quite the disappointment. From poor servers - takes forever to get their attention, asked for a little more salad dressing and never got it, completely forgot about us. To not clearing salad plates or soup bowls when main course came, to them trying to find somewhere to put our check and rushing off before we could ask for dessert. The food has changed drastically. They have started using "Kraft" salad dressing (blue cheese is awful). They used to have the best blue cheese. Their prime rib is heated WAY too long in the au just. Tasted more like a boiled prime rib. The horseradish was something terrible, containing "mustard" and very little horseradish. The green onions in it were fine. But mustard? That's like putting ketchup on a Prime Grade A steak. Way to bougie for my taste. The addition of the salted baked potato was rather pleasant, and good. read more

I go from Reno to Carson often and we eat out while there. We came this time for the turkey dinner. I love a good turkey dinner and search it out often. We came in and I asked for a window seat because we love the views and also because the inner tables are dark. Harder to read the menu or enjoy seeing what I am eating. We were taken by the waiter to a seat in the middle by a window and found out the blinds did not block out the sun enough. It is pretty intense so I notified the server and asked if we could sit in back by the windows. He told us know he was the only one working the floor at 3pm and yet we saw another person working the back section. So I dealt with it but they should teach their servers to help their customers if they want them back. I did not get a photo of the turkey dinner but the plate looks bland without veggies on it. We ordered the Chicken Curry Soup and it was great (extra charge, cup is tiny). Turkey was good, mashed potatoes were rich, and stuffing was dry. read more

i keep hoping that this place can deliver but it does not. the breakfast meals are okay but the lunch and other meals are way below average. the one thing that is consistent is the food will be dry and basically tasteless. I have had the burgers, the turkey melt, the french dip, pasta and all of it taste it was reheated food. the taste was lacking, barely warmed up and sent out. the FF are usually lukearm and soggy either because they just precook and sit around or the oil is dirty and old. One good decision was to get rid of the beef stroganoff. that was the worst meal ever. not worth the trip. and the service is hit or miss....prices are low but you get what you pay for... read more

We had an excellent breakfast here yesterday. We arrived shortly before 10am, on a Saturday, and got right in. (By 10am the tables were full and there was a wait. So word to the wise, get there early.) Our waiter, Brandon, was amazing! Fast, friendly and super helpful, he assisted us with getting the best deals for what we wanted to eat and he even got us a menu item that is no longer on the menu. We were all impressed with Brandon and hope to return to his section soon. The food was delicious, the bottomless coffee was hot and we had a great meal. Many thanks to Bodine's and to Brandon. It's been a couple of years and lots of travel, but we find ourselves back at Bodines. Pandemic has altered a few things. For instance, The Cowboy Steak was removed from the $7.99 menu and re-listed for $10.99. Olivia was very fast and efficient. Great service! The food has always been a great value. It eats good, too. This place is the best hidden gem in Carson City. I would never think of this place as an ideal restaurant to get a good meal, but the service, flavor, and prices have me hooked. The pizza has an amazing yeast-y crunchy crust that has me coming back just for that. Their breakfast prices are unbeatable and I haven't had anything that has let me down yet. The parking lot is nice, especially if you have a long vehicle. They also have a parking garage. It's in a casino so it smells like an ashtray when you first enter but the restaurant is unaffected by this. I ordered the meat lovers burrito and it wasn't great. It lacked seasoning. The toast sucked... It was like heated bread that wasn't even brown. The hashbrowns were more like mashed potatoes. The pancake tasted like cornmeal or uncooked. Sausages were okay. The French toast was also not great. Syrup wasn't overly sweet and the meal was served with crummy butter... Maybe it was margarine. The service was basically nonexistent. It's also super loud. Wouldnt reccomend, just save the money and go to McDonald's. read more

I had to try the Teriyaki Chicken with white rice & vegetables because I've been craving Yoshinoya from L.A. Well...the chicken was very dry and overcooked, the rice had hard uncooked grains throughout it, & the vegetables had seen better days. The dinner did come with a side salad (not shown) and it was good with the extra honey mustard dressing I ordered with it. The Asian waitress named Nan was nice and had given me extra teriyaki sauce...which wasn't enough for the dry chicken sections I had. The portions were generous though and the price very good...especially with the coupon a cook from another restaurant had given me to use.
