Stopped for lunch and they were busy with the nice weather! We were able to sit outside and greeted quickly by friendly staff. Had the Fox burger and the BLTA. Wished the bread for the BLTA had been more toasted and next time will order a different fry option, but hit the spot nonetheless! Stop in and enjoy this beautiful patio weather and support a great local business.

I recommend. Has Military Veterans Discount.

Went there with friends to watch the game. Chance favors the prepared mind. The Fox Restaurant & Brewery is great at being prepared and at preparing others to enjoy being there. There's also something to be said for them having so many desirable traits, one here is comity, that are in such short supply elsewhere. I so love it when a business does everything so well that I'm able to write a glowing review. Staff graciously answered all our questions promptly We had a variety of drinks, and Fox's Nachos and their Fried Pickles. Nachos were perfect. Never had fried pickles before. They were delicious. The Chocolate Covered Cherry Stout was a delightful surprise!! Organized Waaaay cool ambiance Has average prices Place was clean Customer service was smooth and alacritous Delivered what they advertise Dog friendly No one here offered to commit fraud to reward us, pay us or compensate us for posting 5 star reviews of this business. . FTC forbids the use of fake testimonials as are illegal under Section 5 of the FTC Act (15 USC 45 as they are using unfair or deceptive acts or practices in or affecting commerce. I rate 'em 3 stars. According to Yelp ratings' definitions, that's "Ok". That to me is an acceptable rating of something that does day in and day out what it is there to do. It's NOT a negative review because doing day in and day out what it is there to do is NOT an easy thing to accomplish. This business is waaaay over and above disabled-friendly AND no matter how busy, and they got busy, they never rushed the customer out-the-door. I watched staff minute-by-minute professionally mitigate operational issues smoothly and suavely. That all earned 'em fourth review star for going beyond what they're in in business to do. The owner of this business likes their Freedom so they have a Military and Veterans Discount as a thank you to Veterans with a publicly disclosed daily Veterans Discount which provides resource to ensure Veterans (rare 6% of the population) and GIs (rare 1/2 of one percent of the population) opportunity to participate in American Dream Veterans and GIs' sacrifices have made possible for 100% of the population. That earned 'em fifth review star for going beyond what they're in in business to do. We were told their Reno location has a 30% discount on dine-in meals for military Veterans and Active-duty Service members every Monday. I'll be back. For my Customer Rule is: Always patronize again a business that has treated you well AND supports Veterans and Active Duty with a publicly disclosed daily Military and Veterans Discount. P.S. Don't message me because in spite of several complaints to yelp, for years now I am unable to open up any messages in yelp to me :-(

I do love the vegetables, they had yellow, green squash, broccoli and cauliflower as an afterthought, they were perfectly cooked but the cook went a little overboard with the salt. I would just eat the vegetables alone but the order came with a cottage pie. I just ordered a side of vegetables too, never can get enough vegetables. Unfortunately the back bar is not staffed tonight so I had to contend with the noisy restaurant part of this restaurant. They changed the menu and eliminated one of my favourite jambalaya like entree.

The whole experience at Fox Brewery was enjoyable. I went out with my kids and one of them is celiac. They ordered a Hawaiian pizza with gluten free crust. The waiter was assured us they were good about cross contamination and they really were. My kid can tell because they are very sensitive to gluten. I had the Steak and mushroom pie with mashed potatoes and seasonal vegetables. It was done just right, with a crisp flaky crust and tender steak and mushrooms inside. My son had a burger that he said was very good and my daughter had the chicken wrap with fries. She said it was very good, not dry like many wraps can be. We have been here before and look forward to going back. We do prefer to go when it is a little quieter, as the restaurant is small and can get nosy when crowded. The staff is always very professional and kind.

    Salads that were tasteless!!

Went for salads and they are literally TASTELESS!! Service was just ok. Took a while to see server. Was NOT busy. French onion soup was ok. Beer tasted like soap. Employees prefer to hangout and chitchat rather than ask the customers how things were? Do better! Use seasoning!! Hire employees that want to be servers!!

Came here for a late lunch and we were greeted and seated immediately. The ambiance was great with decor and felt very relaxing. All the food came out quickly and tasted delicious! Our server Jamie was phenomenal and provided outstanding service. This place is full of seating both indoors and outdoors for various party sizes. So many menu options to keep you coming back to try new options!

Quick! Across from the Assembly building. The waitress struggled to understand anything we ordered. The menu options were vast. Everything looked good but she struggled. I was informed the wings could not be tossed with hot sauce. After I had such a curious look, she did come back out with the wings tossed ...interesting. The wings were not seasoned, dry. Otherwise the food was good. The drinks weren't as. Self check out was amazing!

Mac and Cheese, and a side salad. The salad was great.
    Robert S.

Great service, nice place, but the "Mac & Cheese" was the weirdest mac n cheese I've ever seen. Go look at my photos, and you tell me if that looks anything like mac n cheese. First off, they're kind of tricking us by having Mac in the name because it's not macaroni. It's penne pasta. OK, that's fine, but then, where's the cheese? What I got was sorta melted in with bits of bacon. But I expected a pub to serve a big, tight, cheesy mess of mac & cheese. What I got was just not fun to eat. Everyone else had great entrees--big burgers, nice salads. Just do not order the Mac and Cheese.

First of all let me say this was the first time eating here!! We have passed by here a few times while going to our antique spot we love!! So let me say service and ambiance was really nice!! Beautiful inside and out!! Our server was super great!! I had the chicken with garlic mash potatoes and it was the best!!! My wife had fish and chips !! Very tastie!!our son and his gf got the burger with sweet potatoe fries!! We will be back soon to get them that next star!! I'm sure it will happen!! When you are in area of even Tahoe take a trip here and try this place out!! You won't be disappointed!! I will put up pics that I took! Check them out!!

We had a great time during this visit. Our server was super friendly and helpful. We tried different dishes this time. Probably because they had an Oktoberfest special menu too. We tried the pretzel which was delicious, but a bit much on the salt. We also had the cottage pie special, bratwurst, and the pork schnitzel. Definitely recommend checking this place out.

Wonderful pub in downtown Carson City by the Capitol building. Nice decor with a few TVs on for sports. Extensive menu and full bar. The squeeze and I split the beef dip. We added the garlic fries. The sandwich seemed kind of small for the money, but it was loaded with very tender beef. Dunked that in the jus, presto. She had a Hop Tahoe and I did the Seamus Red. Both were quite good brews. Great service too! Sierra did an outstanding job, loved her sense of humor. If I lived here, I'd be a regular.

    Weak Pastrami sandwich

I ordered the Pastrami sandwich today and was not impressed. The bread was not fresh and it was not toasted. I don't know what their intentions were when they prepared it. Pick one or the other. There was very little pastrami on the sandwich. I took all the meat and made a regular size half of sandwich. I love pastrami and order it often and this was the weakest attempt of making a pastrami sandwich I have experienced. Waffle fries were ok.

Turkey melt on wheat instead of the usually sourdough

Came back again today for lunch and had another good experience. My husband really enjoyed his burger and the clam chowder, and I thought the steak nachos and turkey melt were both very good as well. The food has been consistently solid, which is why we keep returning. Service has generally been good, but I've noticed over the last few visits that drink refills don't come very often. I usually have to get the server's attention for a refill. Other than that, our server has always been friendly and attentive. Overall, we had a good experience and would still come back.

    Yum. Very good hamburgers.

The place was packed and all the outdoor shady spots were taken. The kids were playing wildly with the hula hoops and running around. The adults were playing ping pong and corn hole. Today, March 15 we returned to play Corn hole, ping pong and for lunch. We started with the broccoli chatter soup. We wanted the leech soup too, but they were out. We also had the turkey pesto grilled sandwich with gooey melted cheese and chips. We shared it and it was just right amount for us for lunch. I love outdoor games and even more when they are free. Corn hole is a tough game. I only got 2 in snd he got 4. Im not sure if we're any better at ping pong. Either way we had a fun time. After we were done a group of 6 kids were all playing and in the process some younger kids got fidgety and dismounted the net. I'm so glad we played first with the net intact. This is definitely a place I'll return to. We were at Caesar's watching the Raiders and 49ers play around 6 months ago and got hungry. There wasn't anything to tat in the casino so I popped over here and got us some sandwiches. It was perfect. The people in front of us did the same thing. We were seated quickly by the waitress and served water. It must have been short staffed that day because it took a while to get our drink and food orders in. I'll give benefit of the doubt that it was slow season and staffing might be lean. My wife and I ordered Baja fish tacos and the fish n chips plate, I though the texture and execution of the dishes was spot on, very crispy and appetizing looking dishes, the tacos had cotija cheese on top of the fried fish, diced peppers with pico, and the side was a creative play on street corn (corn, mayo, cheese, spices) served with chips. The only critique I'll give is everything needed more salt, but that's better than being salty. My drinks were amazing, blood orange IPA and the clear water lager (award winning). We went all in on the food and drinks, and it delivered across the board. The beer tasted crisp and fresh like it had a story behind it, and the food matched that same energy. Schnitzel was a regular guest at our table. The schnitzel here was thin, tender, and fried to a golden crisp without a hint of grease. The rotkohl, German braised red cabbage, was sweet, tart, and gently spiced. I always like tasting items separately, and the only complaint was that the mashed potatoes had cooled, warm only where the schnitzel rested on top. This place is wonderfully authentic. Located right across from Heavenly Mountain Resorts base lodge, and the views are curated for a postcard. I love the rustic charm, alpine interior, and very lively energy. The servicer was very nice and she always waits on my brother and sister in law, they are there every week. When I am in town again my brother will bring me here again I'm sure of it, I will try something new else and have a margarita my sister in law raves about them.

Looking to just grab a local beer, my husband and I ended up coming to South Lake Brewing Company…read moreon a Wednesday afternoon, a little before 3:30 pm. South Lake Brewing Company is located in the same plaza as Target, with plenty of parking available. South Lake Brewing Company is also dog friendly for those traveling with their pups When we walked in through the back entrance, we were greeted by an employee. After looking over the menu, we ended up ordering: Pilsner, $8- My husband ordered this one for himself. He liked it and had said he would order it again. Not really big on beer (although I do like German beers), I didn't have any. 2 Towns Huckleberry Cider, $8- I ordered this cider for myself and I thought it was fantastic. The sweet flavors of the huckleberry was prominent and excellent as a hard cider. --------------------------- (Total= $16) After my husband paid, the employee helping got our drinks right away. Then we just sat in the corner inside to just enjoy and relax for a while. The place itself was pretty empty, although a small amount of traffic was coming in. The brewery inside was pretty clean and so were the ladies' restrooms. Outside there was a corn hole for those that wished to play and also it was nice that there was some shade as well. If I was a local, I would definitely come back.

1 of 2 Yelp listings. Good to be back in the "old"…read moreneighborhood. Quality/Quantity - After a terrible day of skiing Heavenly, my wife and I came here for lunch. Thanks for the convenience. Even though you are only a block from the Heavenly Gondola, my wife was nice enough to drive to pick me up. So many conveniences. Fairly simple menu that is done well. The beer was good! Got the two best IPA sellers. Angora House WC IPA and Fog Nozzle Hazy IPA. Both of which were smooth, too smooth; I could have drank even more. Well I did, as we went to South of North Brewing for more beer! See other review. I almost got a flight here, just to get it on a ski board. It was very cool; see my pictures. As for lunch, we got the following: Sticky Fried Chicken Sandwich - Made to order. Good quality, but a little small and did not come with fries or chips. In summary, tourist prices, lol. Wings - Pineapple BBQ flavor. Good size wings. Order of 8 for $20; again, tourist prices, lol. Overall the food was good and complimented my beers well. Specials available. Kids menu. Ambiance - Decent size location. The place still looks new; I like your decor. See pictures. Indoor and outdoor seating, see pictures. Cornhole outside. Lounge, table, and bench seating. We sat at the bar for the best service, otherwise it would be counter service as the bartender was the only front of the house employee. After lunch, I opened a tab and we took our beers outside to enjoy the beautiful day and the live music from across the street. Open 7 days a week from Noon to 9pm. Plenty of 2 hour limit mall parking. Well it is the off season now. Events, food trucks, Thursday Trivia, etc - See their website. Service - Good. The bartender did a good job handling both us sitting on the bar and ALL the counter service. And she still had time to let me try a few tasters. Self service water, utensils, etc. Price - $62 + tip. Expensive for what we got. Beers were $9 each. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 2003 and 2017 at this location.

We ordered the Mac and cheese with crispy chicken and it was absolutely delicious. I'm super picky on my Mac and cheese but this one will have me coming back time and time again. My boyfriend got the burger and I didn't try that but he said it was great and I did steal some fries and they were spectacular. Everyone there was also so kind, it's a great place to stop for lunch and it's kiddo friendly if you want to bring your little ones! We can't wait to go back!
