There was a lot of food for the price and I ate every bit of it! I was expecting it to take a while for them to make all of our orders, but the food came out very quickly. My friend decided to bring me here after a long walk at Lake Tahoe. It was a very very tiny space, one table and a small counter and that's it! It's been a long time since I've seen such a small food venue like this before! The decoration was very minimal, one wall decorated with a big painting of a large crop field, then the other walls completely yellow. It was so small that I couldn't find a satisfactory picture for the interior, which I haven't had happen before. The food took a while to come out. I can tell it was only one employee working, so I don't blame them. In fact, he was very nice and professional. He even walked out of the small place to find us and ask if we wanted our drinks since we stepped away to look around for a little bit, so he was great! But the wait for the food was a bit slow and a little frustrating to wait so long inside such a tiny food place. I ordered a Broccoli, Chicken and cheese bowl. It was good! It was all nice and well cooked, the flavors all mixed together well, it was good. Nothing really great about it, but nothing bad about it either. Overall, it was okay. The employee was better than the food as he went above the standard for my friend and I, and did so while being all alone. Props to him! The food itself was just fine. Nothing special, but not bad. I am disappointed to have to drop this review down to just 2 stars, but I had some hiccups during the first visit that have worsened during my latest visit. To be clear, the food here has always been good. If you actually receive what you ordered, there is a high chance it will be tasty. During my first experience here, we encountered some very unfriendly employees and poor customer service, and that trend seems to have continued. This visit, we placed the order online, and it was ready when it said it would be. However, my wife went to pick up the food and got it home, and the sweet potato pie was missing. I attempted to call the business to ask for a refund, but after multiple attempts and the line just ringing for up to 5 minutes at a time with no answer, I decided to drive back to the store. When I arrived, the employee told me he was the manager and asked me what my issue was. I explained that he forgot an item in my order, and he said, "Oh yeah- we don't have that. I didn't bother telling you since I didn't know if the person picking up the food was a delivery driver." What?! Why would you assume the person picking up is a delivery driver, and why wouldn't you tell them, even if they were a delivery driver, so they could inform the customer? And what was the long-term plan? Just to rip me off for my $6 for the item you didn't have? He did give me some "cake in a cup" in place of the pie, but it's not what I wanted, and it doesn't make up for the intentional attempt to rip me off. Plus, not being able to pick up the phone at a business that primarily takes to-go orders is kind of unbelievable. I just can't forgive the consistent lack of decent customer service, which is unfortunate because I think the food and value here are actually decent. However, I can't justify giving my business to a restaurant that doesn't care about their customers. read more

I have door dashed this place a few times, but finally got the chance to go in person. Restaurant has a super cute set up and is a great place to stop in for a filling bite. I highly recommend the Wild West tater or Texas gold rush. You can also substitute any regular potato dish for a sweet potato one. Stopped in here yesterday for lunch with a few friends. It's located inside the bowling alley building. There are a few eateries inside. Kind of like an indoor strip mall. I've never had a potato pie before so this was my first experience. The place was small with limited seating. There wasn't enough room for all of us but there were tables and chairs outside to sit in. The weather was good that day so it was perfect. These were a lot of potato pie options on the menu. I ended up getting the Yurika steak potato pie. It was huge. I didn't know they came in an 8 in pie tin. I could only eat half of it. This was totally something different. It was actually really good. So much flavor and texture. I kind of liked the burnt potato skins at the bottom of the pie. I know it sounds weird but it tasted good. I could've eaten it all but I would've been overstuffed. Oh yah, the pies are hot and fresh. It takes a few minutes to get your order because they're made to order. My buddy ordered the lasagna pie. That seemed like it took twice as long. So if you ordered that, be prepared to wait a little longer. It seemed like most people that order food there get it to go. The service was great and the people were very friendly. I'm looking forward to trying a different pie on my next visit. read more

Where has this been all my life, and why is it tucked in a small food court in a bowling alley!? I ordered the Wild West Tater and honestly was expecting a fairly satisfying, but ordinary, baked potato with toppings. What I received was an amazing blend of super tender pork in a slightly sweet but tangy BBQ sauce, mac n' cheese, and a perfectly cooked (not hard or dry), very generously sized potato (big enough for two). On a chilly day, when you're hungry, this absolutely fits the bill. Warming and savory, but well balanced, and not greasy. After some bowling or billiards? Perfect. I was thinking this was probably the best flavor, when I saw the rotating ad for....a spaghetti potato pie. Will have to come back and try other varieties. The cashier was very helpful and patient explaining the menu. Checked the website and looks like they update the menu with new options too. They say they're "dedicated to perfecting the art of the baked potato," and they're doing exactly that. Along with it, they're also serving up one of the best craft-style fountain sodas, Stubborn Soda. Don't hesitate to make a little detour (or order delivery) to try this place. This place is so freaking good!!!! We put in an order at 8:25pm online and it was ready right after we arrived. We ordered one of the chili frito potatoes and one of the tuna and both were so delicious! I even saw the employee taking the tuna out of the can!! We will definitely be back! Tried this spot while vacationing in Nevada and it actually surprised me with how good it was. I didn't really think much of it given the fact that it was located inside of a bowling alley, but I have to say my assumption was completely wrong. The potato was perfect! Sometimes I get baked potatoes and they are way too dry. The bacon on top was crispy, the buffalo chicken was my favorite and had just the right amount of spicy to it. My least favorite was the grilled chicken, only reason is because some of the pieces of chicken had tendon in it and it just grosses me out when I'm eating chicken and all of a sudden it's super chewy lol. It's probably just a me thing and some others may like it. Did not get a picture but I did try the side of macaroni and it was also delicious. For the dessert I got a slice of pecan pie and it was amazing! It was a pretty big size enough for two to share for sure and it was topped with plenty of whipped cream. Unfortunately I do not have a picture of the pecan pie either. Overall this place was great and if I was ever in the area I would definitely stop by again! read more

We came here for mothers day since My husband knows how much I love bake potatoes. We came in and the area isn't huge but it's good for about 3 families to enjoy their meals. The staff greeted us and were very friendly. They went over the menu and all the options. We tried the bake potato with brisket and Mac and cheese and our daughter got the Taki baked potato. They were nice sized and so soft. They were so filling that we took the rest home to enjoy another day. The area was bright and full of different potato decorations. We really enjoyed it and will be back for more. They even let our daughter design a possible new potato option and said they would name it after her if they went with it. Hot Potato Pie is now open and it does seem quite popular now. We all love a new restaurant! It's located inside the little mall where the bowling alley is in south Carson over by Aloha Liquors. I arrived just after noon and there was quite a line already. Having looked at the menu online, I had an idea of what was on offer. I did notice the posted menu didn't include all the selections on the website, but some were available even though not listed up on the board. Basically they serve baked potatoes with various toppings and fillings, ranging from the basic butter and chives to steak with cheese and sour cream and even birria pork. Prices range from $6.99 for a basic potato to most of the loaded selections at $12.99. $13 bucks for a baked potato seems a little on the high side, but I guess prices are what they are these days. No french fries if you were wondering. We stood in line and placed our order of the Bacon Bacon potato and the Steakhouse potato, made with beef, onions, cheese, bell peppers and sour cream. Every order is packed to go, even including a big paper inside plastic bag. The interior is sort of small, so this seems more of a to go order place, rather than a sit down place. There are a couple of tables and bar stools at a counter to sit. The food didn't take too long to come out. Upon taking off the to go covers off our potato containers, my friend exclaimed, is that all the bacon I get? The potato didn't look as well stuffed with goodies and bacon as the picture on the website would lead you to believe, but hey, what fast food burger actually looks like the advertisement photo? He was a bit disappointed. Mine was the steakhouse potato. It was just OK, but could have used some pepper and salt, but there was none available at the tables or pick up counter. If you got this to go you'd just be outta luck on that! My potato had cooler spots in the center and really could have been kept hotter before served. The meat was just OK, lacking and grilled or charred flavor. Overall it was just an OK, experience and I probably will not return. Maybe give them some time to fine tune the operation and give it a try. You do gotta be brave to open a restaurant these days! read more

It's a small hole in the wall place that the popcorn place used to be. It's nice. Small amount of indoor seating though but alot more of "outside" seating. The baked potato was awesome. I had the meat lovers and Mom has plain with butter. Both of us enjoyed ours. They have Stubborn soda which is good though a bit pricey. Got some chip cookies but haven't tried them yet...too full, lol. Service was awesome and even though we weren't inside the store they still brought us our dinner. So nice. Overall, an awesome time. I'm a huge potato fan so, this place was a definite must-try! Their birria version had well seasoned beef instead of the traditional goat. Very good. I went back and tried the Carne asada, too. Fresh jalapeños in their pico de gallo added the perfect amount of heat. They play cooking shows on the TV, which is how I personally choose to eat at home. It's a small spot inside of a bowling alley but, the flavors are solid and consistent. Be sure to try their fountain sodas. The cream soda is the best! read more

I tried 3 different types of potato's (Buffalo chicken, pizza, and birra) and they were all delicious, portions was large, they gave lots of topping (not stingy), the price was affordable $12 well worth it. I was really excited to try this place. I have never been to a restaurant specializing in baked potatoes before and I appreciate the novelty of it. First off - I don't like the AI-generated images on the online menu. They're very misleading. For instance, the mac and cheese potato photo featured what appeared to be white cheddar mac and cheese. What I received in my to-go bag was definitely bright orange cheddar. The menu doesn't specify what kind of cheese is in the mac and cheese, however, so I guess I took a risk with that one. Regardless, I'm immediately skeptical of a restaurant that doesn't have photos of its own food online, but this is still a new restaurant so perhaps they are working on getting photos and are using the AI images as placeholders. I hope that is the case. Now, onto the food - again, I had the mac and cheese potato. It was tasty enough. I'd give it a 3/5. The other members of my party had the buffalo chicken potato and the birria potato. Buffalo chicken was rated 3/5, birria was rated 4/5. Every single potato was perfectly cooked and fluffy, I will say that. But, every potato was also saturated with butter. Don't get me wrong, I love butter, but we all had to tip our potato tins and drain the butter out because there was just so much of it. Me and my daughter stopped here because she loves baked potatoes and she wanted to try it. I will say the potatoes were absolutely delicious! She got the bacon Mac and I got the chicken bacon ranch. The ONLY thing I was disappointed in was that they have bottled ranch, thankfully I had them hold the ranch before it was ruined. Nice idea. First menu prices online do not match in store. Salads, which look purchased from the store or Costco cost more than $10.00 No water, not even a cup of tap water. That is so silly. This restaurant is inside the bowling alley in South Carson, so I wasn't surprised to see a little slow around lunchtime, but the service was great.
