Came here when my family was in town for a wedding and we needed a place to eat when we were coming down from Lake Tahoe and were starving. Definitely not a place to go out of the way for, but if you're just filling your stomach it's not bad. The cheesesteak I had was definitely not bad but needed a bit of hot sauce to make it more exciting. Their fries were good though! They were nice and crispy. When ever the holiday season comes around, I like a good turkey dinner. This time was no acceptation. My wife and I spent the day in Carson City. For dinner, we wanted something affordable and my wife had a hankering for Bodine's We have had good service in the past and this time was no different. As I perused the menu, my wife pointed out that they have dinner specials. One of them, happened to be a turkey dinner! I ordered it! The waitress was nice and that is always a plus, no matter where you go. The turkey: My turkey dinner came out and it was just like mom used to make. Thank goodness there was ample gravy. By no means was a negative experience. I like turkey! I like it juicy and like it when it's dry. The mashed potatoes: These potatoes were real! Lumps and everything. I enjoyed it even more than the turkey! The dressing/Stuffing: This wasn't my favorite. A bit dry and highly seasoned. It wasn't bad, just not my style. The Cranberry sauce: Unless they are horrible, I like it! I like it as jelly, I like it with whole cranberries. I like them spiced. I think you're getting the gist of it. I like cranberry sauce! If you like turkey dinners, this one was like I was hoping it would be. Real turkey, mash potatoes, gravy and stuffing. For the price of just under $8.00 it's fantastic. I returned on Jan 24th and if I could I would give the food a -10. I ordered the prime rib med rare and got it med well. Another person ordered it medium and got it well done. The cut looks nothing like your pictures. It was not very thick and not tender at all. The clam chowder was thicker but still not good. No where close to what it use to be. I would not recommend the prime rib dinner to anyone. Guess I will have to go to Gold Dust for my prime rib, it is a much better cut, tender and not as expensive. I was in Carson City to get my dog Brocko trimmed by my friend Patti and decided to stop in for breakfast. I had eggs over easy and sausage, toast and coffee. The server was friendly and quite proficient. The food was prepared exactly the way I like it . The sausage was so tasty. My breakfast was great! We both got the American breakfast and I didn't see the hot sauce I have been enjoying. So I asked if they carried it and she brought that plus blackberry jam. This is in Bodine's Casino, so it's a Casino environment. The Wife and I have gone there numerous times, and have ordered various meals off the Menu. We haven't been disappointed, yet. Decided to sit at the bar for a burger and what a mistake that was...the bar tender acted out out when I asked for a menu, tried to run away when it was obvious I was ready to order...someone else delivered the burger but that was the highlight of service....the bartender spent the whole time from my ordering to finished talking to other employees about sports picks. Oh and the burger was on par with McDonald's...might have been a little better with some ketchup but none was offered...or napkins. We had been there about 6 months ago and ended up waiting for an hour to get our food, and the food was just average. We decided to give it another try last night. Fool me once, fool me twice, but it won't happen again. We had to wait about 30 minutes for our dinner and this time the food was below average. It didn't appear to be very busy. On our weekend errands as we head out the door we tend to gravitate to the same breakfast spots. When our errands take us to the South end of Carson aka Costco I usually have two places that I go to and one of them is the $3.99 Breakfast Specials. Add a cup of coffee, OJ and an occasional Bloody Mary, if I am feeling ornery and PERFECTO! Let's DO THIS - check that errand list off and tackle the day! We have come in for the Prime Rib & Lobster dinner for $20 with all the fixins' baked potato w/everything, salad and steamed veggies. Seems like every time my hubby and I decided to come in, the wait staff can't seem to get it together. We have waited for everything from flatware to eat (while our food is sitting on the table) for more time than we should, salad without salad dressing, Prime Rib without au jus or without horseradish (when we have asked a second time - still nothing). And to note, this has happened several times so please know that although the Prime Rib is OMTASTY! and the prices are very decent we have had sometimes daBOMB service and sometime just EH. Overall my rating would be 3.5 stars because of the service but for the food and prices 4 stars OMGeee almost forgot to tell you about the Brick Oven Pizzas!! How did I forget to mention those, you MUST try one!! Crust is the perfect crispy and the flavors are deLISH! My fave is BYO with alfredo sauce and chicken, daBOMB!! 4/15/17 We have been here many times over the years. They used to have the best Prime Rib in town. Sometimes it's the bomb and sometimes it's just ok. This restaurant is inside the Casino. We went in for breakfast and I got Chicken fried steak and eggs with a biscuit on the side. I got my gravy on the side. Oh my the chicken fried steak was super tasty and I liked that I could dip it in as much gravy as I wanted. They really know how to make chicken fried steak or chicken fried chicken here. My husband got a Cowboy omelet with fried potatoes and toast. My son got biscuits and gravy. My guys said there food was great. The portions are large and a great value for your money. Our waitress was kind and attentive. They always have specials listed and are a great bang for your buck. They have an extensive menu for breakfast, lunch or dinner. We walked in, the only ones waiting and it took the hostess a good 5 mins before she sat us because she was too busy counting all of her credit card tips. Once we were seated, it took another good 15mins until our server came over and took our order. She wasn't friendly at all because she just got in. Horrible. My family and I always come here for a relaxing dinner but we get rejected seating 15-20 minutes before closing?! I get they want to get home right away but it was just me and my father wanting to order. Big ups to Jose tho, he wanted to attend us while his stuck up manager white lady didn't even bat an eye and said "nope it's 5 minutes till 10." I'm writing this review at 9:54pm. We were obviously there pretty early to get seated, served, and go home all before 10:30. On our way to Reno, we stopped by this Casino to grab some lunch. Originally we wanted to try the Prime Rib but they DO NOT SERVE it until 4 pm. In the end we ordered a few different things: Beef Stroganoff: (3/5) This was very okay. The flavor of the sauce was good but the beef was too tough. Also, they use fettuccine which I think is a little weird for Beef Stroganoff. Chicken Fried Steak: (4/5) This was pretty good. The gravy is very rich and creamy and the steak is perfectly deep fried. Very solid entree New York Steak: (4/5) The steak was also very delicious. The beef is good quality and they cooked it to a perfect medium rare (as ordered). Some issues I had was that some of the lettuce in the salad was wilted (brown). The soup (beef barley) was very good though. Also, our waiter Shelley was SUPER nice so shout out to her. Would come back to try the prime rib. read more

The prices are unbeatable. The service is very friendly and efficient as well. I would definitely come here again next time I am in the area. I'm waiting for the day when a casino has really good food. That day did not come last November when we had Thanksgiving dinner at Bodines Restaurant. My wife's side of the family traveled up to Lake Tahoe for the holiday staying at an Air B&B and none of us felt like preparing a Thanksgiving dinner... so let's go out! My sister-in-law mentioned Bodines when we were driving up and we decided to head down. We made a reservation but upon our arrival, they said they called and left a message telling me there were no reservations allowed and that the host made a mistake and it was first come first serve. I checked my phone and there were no messages, however cell phone service was spotty and two days later I got the message so they tried, but I was upset at the time. Our server was amazing! I would seriously eat here again just to be waited on by her. She was so personable and attentive I felt like she was part of our family and was so grateful she chose to work on Thanksgiving. Her kids were older, but she was very good with all the kids we had and they all liked her too. It was like having mom wait on us hand and foot. They had set meals for Thanksgiving so I got the turkey plate. It was processed turkey that comes in thick slices (like ham) and then there was stuffing, gravy, mashed potatoes, beans, and cranberry sauce. Most of it tasted like it came from cans so I can't say I was wowed by the food. My wife got the beef plate and liked it even less so I guess I made the right choice? Went in with family for dinner a couple night ago, I forgot our waitress name but none the less she was very attentive to us and quick to refill drinks, customer service 5 stars. I ordered a bowl of chili since I wasn't too hungry and everyone else ordered burgers, pastas and salmon. They all seemed to really like their meals and no complaints, I on the other hand have never seen a bowl of chili that looked so dry. The chili was dry, it was nothing but meat, EXTREMELY salty, my husband even joked and said if I had ordered "cat food". Normally Bodine's has been good, but I have to dispense some criticism. August 11 was terrible. we were seated at 18:55. Our ticket said our two salads were ordered at 19:07. We didn't receive them until 19:46. The restaurant was not busy - maybe 7 tables and I noticed other tables with the same waiter also had to ask about their order. I really just wanted to leave because I couldn't find the waiter after 30 minutes. Just before I got up to walk, the salads arrived -- soggy. He blamed the food runner. Honestly, I saw no food runner in the restaurant that evening. The last time I had dinner here, I ordered the roast turkey which arrived cold. I'm going to have to pass from now on. read more

Bodines Restaurant appears to be open and it looks quite modern in there too. The menu had something for everyone, which makes it easy for us to order. We also were there in time for their $7.77 menu - 7 dinners available everyday for that price. (A house salad also comes with these dinners too.) * Beef Stroganoff "Tri tips of beef braised in red wine, Madeira and mushrooms. Served over a bed of buttered egg noodles and finished with a dollop of sour cream and fresh herbs." ($7.77) - A generous portion that put the Husband into food coma, and he didn't even finish the whole plate. Don't order this dish if you're driving, you'll be too stuffed to keep going! * Pork Chop "Lightly pounded 8 oz center-cut pork chop marinated in olive oil, salt and pepper. Garnished with herbed country style potatoes, green beans and roasted cherry tomatoes. Served with stone-ground mustard." ($7.77) - A tasty pork chop, although a tad dry. The mustard definitely helps with it though, and gives it a nice kick. They also serve it up with a side of apple sauce too. My plate was licked clean when I was done. * Prime Rib Beef Dip "Prime Roast beef with caramelized onions and provolone cheese on a Dutch Crunch Roll." ($8.50) - Our friend ordered this dish and I didn't even have to ask him how it was because the plate was empty when I finally got a chance to take a look to see how he was doing with it. Enough said. Service was perfectly fine when we went. We didn't have to wait too long for anything. Our beverages were refilled without asking, and the server was there to help the waiter with everything else. The manager came by twice to check up on us as well. So, we really had nothing bad to say service-wise. Overall, not a bad stop in between the two cities. Stop for a bite to eat, gamble a bit, and be on your way. My husband and I came here twice; once for dinner and again for breakfast a couple weeks later. I admit, we went because it was cheap. When the plates cost less than $10, the expectations cannot be too high. The service was very good both times, and the place was mildly busy each time we went. We were served our food quickly each time and the drinks were kept full. It was also clean in there, which is a big thing for me. The food, however, was bland at best. The pico de gallo was mostly onions and tasted like it. The breakfast dish I had was most certAinly better than the dinner, though. If we are in a crunch, we might stop in again.
