Food was great, service was excellent and the experience was superb. We go there to eat their delicious portobello and shrimp salad! Our favorite!

I'll start off by saying we had a long series of good experiences, followed by a couple bad ones so gave this place an appropriate review and decided to give it a break for a couple of years. I am happy to report, that this dining experience was back up-to-speed again. We were leaving to Las Vegas the following day so didn't want leftovers and opted on splitting a meal. The portions are huge so it's easy to do. The upstairs has been closed off evidently as business has slowed. According to the sign it's because of the economy but I'd imagine it had a little to do with their previous staff and management as well. This crew was great and the bartender surprised me at one point and hopped on the piano and played a couple of amazing tunes. Everything we ordered from the cheese bread and Caesar salad to the lasagna and meatballs was delicious and filling. With this past experience, I feel well put Khristopher's back on our rotation again. If in Minden and have Italian in mind, give this place a shot.

    Chicken Caesar salad to go

The best chicken Caesar salad I've ever had, especially to go. You can tell the dressing is homemade and the large cheese shredded in there tops it off.

Their service was quick and the 1st Italian margarita was tasty! The 2nd Italian margarita however tasted watered downed. The portion were a little smaller than what we're used to in the big city but a decent portion. The Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo with artichokes was very watery, not creamy and was more on the sour side. Their homemade Cesar dressing was light and refreshing. I felt like their potato skins could of used a little more seasoning and was a little undercooked.

    Convenience Fee?!?
    Michael S.

The food was good and our waitress was very nice. She returned and offered us additional bread which we accepted. Later, there was a convenience fee on the check. I noticed it after filling out tip and signing, but asked another server about it. He told us it's when they bring extra bread or have to return for a refill, etc. If this is a push from the owners, they are taking in thousands over this small and hidden fee annually. This fee shouldn't exist.

Gambero Eva con Portabella Appetizer: Sautéed shrimp & Portobello mushrooms in a balsamic dijon sauce - deLISH!

Italian comfort food in Minden with exceptional service, we have been coming to Khristopher's Ristorante & Bar since they were in Carson City throughout their different locales and happy to see them here. Located in the heart of Minden on Esmeralda Avenue across from the CVIC Hall and the Minden Park - great place to take a walk after your fabulous dinner. We have popped in to their newest location with latest finding us there for dinner. We called ahead to make sure they could accomodate us and snagged a table for two at the time we wanted. Upon our arrival we were greeted by the friendly hostess, seated at our beautiful set table and then offered menus along with H2O. Our waitstaff came over greeted us, asked what we would like to drink for the evening, shared tonight's special and asked if we would like to order any appetizers. Our appetizer choice on this night was the We opted for the Gambero Eva con Portabella - Sautéed shrimp and Portobello mushrooms in a balsamic dijon sauce that was delicious anddd we had the fresh warm bread to dip in the sauce - yummmyyy!! As we settled into our evening out, we had order our main course meals with the appetizer so we new were in for a treat as we have never had anything but the freshest ingredients creatively prepared by Kristopher's everytime we have come for manyyy years! so we knew we are in for another delightful Italian meal. We shared the House Salad w/green mix, red peppers, onions, Romano cheese and Roma tomatoes in a balsamic vinaigrette - perfect way to start the main course. Then on to the main dishes, for my husband, he opted for the Annerito Costolette: 10 oz ribeye w/ potatoes, peppers and seasonal vegetables - this was OMTASTY goodness!! For my yummilicious choice, I went with the Special of the Night: Salmon Fettucine w/tomato, mushrooms in a white fennel sauce ~ that was SO yummyyy!! We were absolutely full from the delicious food with no room for their wonderful bread pudding...next visit. Service, food and Kristopher's once again EXCELLENT!! We look forward to our next visit!!

I was just told about a wonderful Happy Hour here from a local friend and he was so excited, he wanted to take me here. Well, sure why not, I'm up for a good happy hour! Khristopher's Italian Restaurant offers every day, from 3 to 6pm, half off all appetizers and $3.00 house wines and even $10 pizzas! You can choose from the large selection of creative pizzas on the menu. There's maybe 7-8 appetizers to choose from including local made bread topped with various Italian inspired ingredients or an antipasto dish served with traditional Italian meats, veggies and cheeses. The interior is very upscale and includes 2 floors with a piano and bar on the second floor. Tables and bar fill out the first floor. Service is very professional and friendly. Parking is street only, so if you arrive at prime time, you may have to walk a little ... hey just like the big city! For Happy Hour, we started with the house Cab, for $3 a glass why not! The pours were generous, so not cheaping out here! The taste was decent for a house wine. Appetizers started with the Bruschetta Milan which was sautéed Roma tomatoes, red onions, fresh basil on toasted home-made bread. Also we ordered the most expensive appetizer, the Gambero Eva con Portabella, which was sautéed shrimp and Portobello mushrooms in a balsamic dijon sauce priced normally at $15.95, so half off was a deal! The Bruschetta was a wonderful version. The bread was toasted just right, so when you bite into it, you bit a nice clean piece. If the bread is too toasted, biting in causes an earthquake and all the toppings fall off onto the plate or you lap! The fresh tomatoes, cheese and onions were perfectly balanced for a tasty mouth treat! If we thought the Bruschetta was wonderful, the next appetizer, the Gambero Eva con Portabella, was totally off the charts good. OMG, my feet were doing the happy dance under the table! Basically, it's Portabella mushrooms and medium sized shrimp sautéed served in a small bowl with this incredible balsamic and dijon mustard reduction, served with bead sticks ..... for soaking up the incredible sauce! This has got to be one of the most tastiest food experiences I've ever had. $16 for this smallish serving might seem a little steep, but for half off, it's a must get deal! We continued our happy hour with a pizza selection. We choose the Amici e Familiari, which had as toppings, artichoke hearts, black olives, roasted peppers, red onion, and mushrooms, over pesto sauce, topped with mozzarella cheese and toasted garlic. These are come creative toppings you won't get at Pizza Hut! The pizza was about the size of you average dinner plate, maybe 10 inches across. The flavors were amazing combined and rich as in filling as well. The only little improvement I'd ask for, would be try to make the bottom crust a little crisper, maybe just a little longer in the oven. After sampling the food quality and creativeness from the kitchen, I'd come back here for sure and even order off the main menu (posted online), that includes chicken in various Italian preps, like Marsala, Caccitori or Gorgonzola. There's even filet Mignon and Ribeye steaks for you meat eaters as well as many unusual pasta dishes. Now, we just couldn't skip dessert! Tiramisu, may fave was on the menu! It came out and OMG, was that a big piece, definitely big enough for 2 to share! It was a wonderful rendition, so soft and a melt in your mouth experience! I think I should start with dessert next time! Overall, Khristopher's is an upscale Italian dinner house, but serves lunch and breakfast as well. Tho, breakfast starts at 11am ... life of the retired .... Sunday breakfast starts at 9am. The pizzas are adult pizzas, not the type used to just feed the kids. Khristopher's ambiance is an adult restaurant with a full bar. Now, I wonder if they get someone to play that piano?

REALLY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! On January 21st at about…read more12:15 I took the grandkids to Pizza Factory in Minden for the buffet lunch. It was such a disappointment! When we got there the restaurant was almost empty. The only staff were two unfriendly women, one blond and one older brunette. The blond who took my order never greeted me, never looked at me and said as few words as possible. I suspect she hates customers and her job. After we got plates we saw the buffet had only two half pizzas, one pineapple and the other had different meats and olives. I asked if they could make a cheese or pepperoni pizza because that's all my kids will eat. They begrudgingly agreed to make one. After waiting a while two men came in, paid for the buffet and just as they handed them their plates they put out the pepperone pizza which was right behind them. We got in line behind the men. Sadly, what was left was one slice of pepperoni pizza each for the kids. And they liked the pizza. I went to the counter and asked if they could make another cheese or pepperoni pizza. The workers, who talked to me from across the room, said no. They said the old halves of pizzas, pineapple or the one with olives had to be eaten first. I explained the kids won't eat that and those pizzas were now very old. They explained they wouldn't be making cheese or pepperoni and that there were other kinds of pizzas they would be making first. There is an order to the variety of pizzas they make for the buffet. By now we are the only people in the restaurant and I am trying to reason with these employees who are being so cold and indifferent. They told me even if the old half pizzas were eaten the next pizzas they would make wouldn't be what I'm asking for either. If the goal is to run off customers I think it's working. Almost no customers and on a day there's no school and unwilling to make a pizza for the customers they do have. Weird. Nothing left to do but leave and write this review to warn others.

Our evening began at the bar with a round of Picon Punch, the official drink of the State of Nevada. I first thought that this was a drink that you only ordered once, but this small glass of goodness actually grew on us. After closing the bar bill and looking at all the branded merchandise, it was off to the main dining room. We chose the Basque Family Style side of the menu, which at the end of the evening resulted in number of take home containers. Our 4 choices were Basque Chicken, Fish, Lamb Shoulder, and Lamb Chops. Those came with Vegetable Soup, Salad, Beef Stew, Beans, French Fries, Bottle of Red Wine, Coffee, and Ice Cream. for the Table. These inclusive choices were priced just south of $40 and that's what the bill was at the end of the evening, as there were no extras needed. OK, the included wine was a little on the sweet side, but we didn't see the need to "upgrade" as we were too busy concentrating on the food. It was all good, especially the Soup and the French Fries. The only regret was not being here on the night they served Huckleberry Ice Cream, but our Vanilla or Pistachio Almond was good enough. JT Basque is family generation owned, and we certainly felt welcome and well taken care of. The rustic decor was also cool, as was the happy energy in the dining room. We knew it wasn't going to be crowded and the food will be fresh, but it was so much more than that. Overland is lucky to employ Tennessee, who might just be the best server in the Carson Valley. I grant you that we haven't been to every restaurant and we haven't had every server and so it could be hyperbole to try to tell you that he's the best, but we need to be sure to let you know that he is clearly in the top percentile of quality, local servers. Why you ask. He anticipated our every need, and so we always had water, always had coffee, and he cleared every single time he got near the table. His positive energy is infectious. Yes, I can hear you now, what about the food? My wife can, on occasion, high maintenance, and this was one of those mornings. She ordered the Eggs Benedict without the bottom bread plus one more whole extra Eggs Benedict, and Tennessee didn't flinch. I ordered the vegetarian omelette and I had side breakfast potatoes. All of it tasted great. I even tried the hollandaise sauce on my wife's eggs Benedict and it tasted fresh and tasty. So, I say give Tennessee a raise, and when you go to the Overland, hope that you get seated in his section because it will be an experience that you won't forget soon, and the food is very good.
