We have seen this place a lot since we frequent a couple of the spots nearby, but we never stopped in before. We decided to try it out on our last visit to Carson City, and we are so glad we did. As soon as you walk in you can tell this is an elegant place. It has a really nice vibe, classy but not too stuffy. Staff are very welcoming all around. We used to go to Adele's a lot before it closed, and we definitely felt the presence of the place, even before we found out that they have some of the original decor of that famous Carson City institution. We recognized some of the windows and the old bar. You can see the influence on the menu too. Lots of gourmet choices as well as some go-to choices like Sliders and a French Dip. Everything we tried was excellent, from the deviled eggs to the French Press Coffee. There are lots of regulars who come and we could see why. We hope to join them coming back again soon! read more

My wife and I visited Piazza years ago but our visit was cut short due to babysitter issues so I never wrote a review. Our recent visit was great and I'm glad we visited again! Piazza is a great place for good food and beverages. We enjoyed our visit for dinner outside on the patio. We started with a bottle of wine and then moved into some flatbreads and fresh sourdough. Everything was great and the service was fast and friendly. A few small adjustments could include a bit more butter served with the bread, as it's really not even close to enough of a whole mini round. I also think the flatbread dough was just a tiny bit tough, like perhaps it was overworked. I'm being picky though, the food was great. I loved the flavors on the fig flatbread. Fantastic parings. I think the style of service here is great with both small plate and entree choices. I love the flexibility that offers for a casual afternoon out or a nice dinner experience. Service was great. Beautiful fall day to sit outside to dine. First time here for late lunch/early dinner. Ordered dirty martini with blue cheese stuffed olives. Asked to be very light on the olive juice. It wasn't as light as I would have liked, but it was decent. For dinner the Salmon Oscar and lobster raviolis. Both very good. Dessert pumpkin cheesecake. With the live music on Thursday night and dining outside it was the perfect start to our ladies night out. It was our first visit to Piazza and it will NOT be our last. The homemade gazpacho fresh from the garden with crab was Amazing!! We had several shareable plates and all were delicious- from the fondue to the seared ahi to portabella stuffed mushroom to burrata caprese. The French dip from one of our ladies was the best she's ever had- a 10. Shrimp scampi perfectly cooked and so much flavor. The drink menu was delightful- I enjoyed the cranberry kiss to start followed by the Adult root beer float for desert. My apologies on not getting all the photos of everything. Very very good. Carson City is becoming one of my favorite places to go for the day, and Piazza Bar was just another reason to keep going back. I thought this was just a wine bar with appetizers, but was surprised by the great lunch menu. The sandwiches were inventive and with farm to table ingredients you couldn't go wrong. I had the TomChee panini and ham and cheese sandwich with the freshest tomato I have had all summer. It wasn't greasy and the flavor was amazing. Matched with the homemade potato salad, it couldn't be beat. The ambience was so nice too. It has comfortable seating and couches for little get togethers with friends. It was a little warm to sit outside when we were there, but it looks very inviting as well. It was the customer service that put this place above so many others. They were friendly, efficient and made you feel very welcome. The food came out fast enough, but not so fast that you felt rushed. Can't wait to go back and try their flatbreads and other items. First time here, but won't be my last. Was wandering downtown Carson for the after and wanted an afternoon cocktail before attending an event later. Love the interior, rich dark wood, think sophisticated pub. But after the winter and spring we have had, I wanted to sit on their patio. Several tables in the sun and some in the shade, all face a small plaza with a water feature. A locals hangout. I was thinking a glass of, the list was nice. Then I saw the cocktail list and saw so many delicious choices. Definitely returning for a proper Brandy Alexander. But went with the white sangria. Delicious and refreshing. A great choice. There's lots of choices on the menu- snacks, small bites, sandwiches and flatbreads. Went with chips and two house made dips. A fantastic spot to relax, people watch and chat with friends. This place is unique. It has a modern Italian kitchen feel with wine bottles on the wall. Several tables stacked in. The cocktails were decent and unique. The food was a random assortment of decent options. I had a couple of dirty Martinis and the diver scallops over risotto. It came out on a very small plate. It was delicious, but it seemed small? One friend ordered the scallops and they were very, very small. In fact, the waitress brought a couple of extra scallops later because she realized that the order was just Insufficient. There are some places that deserve a 5-star review because the food is great, or the service was outstanding, or the ambiance was stellar, but few places nail all three. Piazza Bar does it in spades. Our first impression when my wife and I walked in was WOW, what a beautiful place. Being greeted by the bartender and the server in a way that said, 'Welcome', made us feel really welcome. Add to it, an amazing array of cocktail offerings and a stellar wine selection had us smile at each other. Now comes the food. Holy Cow!!! the two sandwiches we ordered, were slices of heaven. I had the corned beef on a French roll and my wife had the TomChee, both with some of the best potato salad I've ever had. We ate half and swapped them in the evening for dinner. The TomChee is phenomenal. The tomatoes tasted incredible, and our server pointed out that they came from the local farmers market. I absolutely cannot describe how good the food is, how elegant and inviting the restaurant is, and how pleasant and helpful the service was. If I could give it more stars, I would in a heartbeat. March 25, 2023 Party of 2 Atmosphere - 5 stars: The ambience and decor' was very relaxing. I liked seating options that make you feel more comfortable. The dining room was well maintained and clean. Service - 5 stars: Our server, Andrea, was amazing! She kept the food and drink flowing smoothly and had great knowledge of the menu, as her recommendations and descriptions of each plate were perfect. Food - 5 stars: Started of course with my favorite drink the Old Fashioned. I noticed that they had a seasonal Old Fashioned on the menu and it was delicious. We ordered the beet salad, beef short ribs, margarita flatbread pizza, brussel sprouts, and lamb pops. The food came out very fast and everything we tried was cooked well and tasted amazing. The only trivial gripe I would have, was with the lamb pops. Normally lamb should be cooked medium-rare, but these came out medium-well. They were seasoned so perfectly and tasty, that the temperature could be overlooked. For dessert we ordered the creme brulee and crema catalan. Overall, Piazza Bar in Carson City, is by far one of the best restaurants that I've eaten at. Their staff is amazing and the food is epic. I will definitely be back the next time I'm in Carson City. read more

Our first time here and it was fantastic. I had a spring salad (could have licked the plate clean), my husband had a pizza with meatballs and mushrooms on it (cant remember the name on the menu) and my daughter a cheese pizza from the kids menu. It all tasted fresh and had great flavors! Wide drink selection. I don't drink but my husband enjoyed a wheat beer on tap and he said it was great! We loved that we were seated right away despite not having a reservation, vibrant staff with pleasant attitudes who were attentive to our table. April 17, 2021 The other day I asked a friend for a recommendation of a restaurant in Carson City, and he suggested Piazza. I was glad that he did as my wife and I totally enjoyed our visit. From the food to the wine to the customer service, all was very good, prompting us to already add this establishment to our list of favorites. We arrived early on this Saturday, around 4:30ish, and were directed to the podium to find out if they were able to seat us. Lucky for us, we could get in, and given Covid measures I would highly recommend that you make a reservation. If you know us you know that my wife and I always like to share our food, we get to taste more things and enjoy them, but, truth be told, my wife consistently orders better than I do, and so I always benefit from this arrangement. She started with the beet salad and I chose the Caesar. Our waitress suggested the bread and I was so glad that she did. It was very fresh, warm, and tasted great with the provided butter. My Caesar was attractively presented, and the waitress let me choose whether I wanted the anchovy. Of course I wanted it, as I think it is a key ingredient. My wife, for the record, also enjoyed her salad. Our next course was the beef short ribs and the seared ahi, and, again, both tasted great. You might be curious and so I will tell you, I ate more than my wife on this course. The short ribs were also suggested by the waitress, and her credibility, by the end of this meal, was high. I usually trust the servers, but I do know that they are all not equal, but on this occasion, she was great. As we were both still a bit hungry, we decided to try out the scallop. Again, another hit.... Our wine selection was a zinfandel blend from the Klinker Brick Winery in Lodi, and it was tasty. In short, we will consider this establishment every time we head into Carson, and you just might want to also. read more

(5 star) Sticky glass that my $14 drink was served in (1-star). All other stuff, although unfortunate, I believe ownership is sincere in giving customers a great experience. We opted to sit inside but realised once we were sat that the music was piped in and actually louder than being outdoors. the acoustics inside are terrible if you are trying to have a normal conversation. No problem, we made the decision to stay. First, our server was great, attentive, friendly and did a super job. The bus-girl, made sure we had our water glasses filled and empty glasses, plates remove. No problem with service. We ordered cocktails before dinner, the glass my drink was served in was completely sticky. I've been in the food industry, catering business, managed resturants, and know that if I'm served a $14 drink, my glass should not be sticky. That is simply sloppy work on behalf of the bartender. We ordered an appetizer which was good, but then we ordered our entrees after the appetizer arrive. We literally had our entrees in under 10 min. Not even close to having a chance to enjoy our apps. My husband had the Shrimp pasta and I had the Salmon. It would be nice if a customer doesn't have to work for his meal to remove the tails of the shrimp in the pasta.. my Salmon was more butter, oil and sauce in a bowl then salmon. Very disappointing. But finally, the kicker was some "regular customer" according to our server, was aloud to sing a few songs for time to time. ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE and loud. Did not realize this was a karaoke bar, we thought we were going to a cool midtown restaurant with great food. So, I would have rather spent our $120 plus tip somewhere else. I had really high hopes for this bar. I love the concept, especially for Carson, but they fall short every time. A cheese platter comes with only one type of cheese with an incredibly small portion and most food prices are overpriced for the quality. Wow. What luck. First time in Carson City scoping it out and was underwhelmed with "downtown", except for this gem. Coming from Cali, was a pleasant surprise the prices were 2/3rds what we would normally pay, but the food was FANTASTIC. Had the short rib entree and wife had a chicken piccata pasta dish both presented in a weird bowl instead of a plate, but it was absolutely delicious. Seemed to be the higher-end clientele/regulars and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Our waitress was struggling with a ditz trainee, but otherwise the service was solid. read more

During my visit to Carson City today, I came from California to see friends and was advised to dine at this restaurant. I was met by a very enthusiastic and welcoming hostess named Virginia. Her hospitality and friendliness made the experience special. Virginia seated us with respect and recommended the smoked trout plate, which was delicious. The restaurant had a great atmosphere that made us stay longer than planned. I will definitely return for the food, but more importantly, for the exceptional service from Virginia and the staff. This place is amazing. Ellen was friendly and made us feel welcome after a long day on the road. We were just passing through town and looking for a nice meal. Mark at the bar made us some delicious craft cocktails. My bf had a bourbon with fresh peach and muddled cherries on the bottom. Dan makes the pizza in a special 600 degree oven that cooks it in 3 minutes or less. The food came out fast and was delicious. We had the silician pizza with lots of cheese, ham and salami. There was something special about the crust. It was light, yet crunchy. We wanted more so we had a second pizza with apple and candied walnuts. It had such a unique flavor. The next time I'm in Carson city, I'm stopping here because we didn't save room for tapas. My bf says, you have to go here.
