Homespun Chocolate Ice Cream with Whip Topping
Marciel B.

Googled creme brulee in Carson and this place pops up. If you don't know that this place exists, go!! We were greeted immediately as we walk in by the owner Brandon himself. He was very friendly and informative. He told us that his menu changes once a month and gets revamped with new items. That is such a clever idea. We went in simply for dessert. I was craving creme brulee and they had it. Coconut Creme Brulee: I have only ever had traditional creme brulee, but the coconut was a nice change. Amazingly silky texture and fantastic taste!! Chocolate Ice Cream: perfect creamy texture and tasted great. More like a dark chocolate flavor than regualar chocolate, which was a pleasant surprise. Don't let the price scare you, portion sizes, ambiance and service make this place WELL WORTH IT!! THANKS BRANDON FOR MY AMAZING BDAY DESSERT. We will be back to try dinner next.

As always great food and service at Z Bistro. It's small, so make sure to make a reservation the menu changes monthly. Quaint authentic casual French dining.

We had an amazingly delicious lunch at Z Bistro a few weeks ago. (Sorry, I got behind and am just now getting to the review.) Z Bistro's food is as tasty as it is beautiful, and that's saying something. Look at the pictures. It's even more gorgeous in real life. And it tastes even better. Chef Brandon and front house Alec are super friendly, attentive and could not be nicer humans. It's always a treat to stop in for a blissful dining experience. Thanks so much. We hope to be back soon.

Came from Reno for date night Alex & Chef were super nice they kept checking on us and kept our glasses full. The service & ambiance was lovely! Our main course meals were super yum, I had the short beef ribs with mashed mmm & the lamb burger was beyond delicious. Highly recommend. This experience was super ideal for a date night or adult outing. We will definitely be back!

Crème de brûlée

Was given a gift certificate from my daughter at Christmas and finally got to use it last night for my hubbies birthday. We started with the chicken satay which was tender and very tasty. He had the salmon and I had the cordon bleu which were both excellent. Finished the meal off with vanilla ice cream and I had the crème de brûlée. What a way to end this delicious meal. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

Thank you Chef Brandon for such a beautiful dining experience! The level of artistry that you put in to each plate was exceptional. You can tell you carefully curate everything on your menu, I only wish I lived closer to try more. I've had the privilege in my life to eat at some of the best restaurants in the world. I'm originally from Carson and have not lived here for many years but visit family here from time to time. I've never had a dining experience like this any where else in the Carson Reno Tahoe area. If you are considering dining here, jump on the phone and make a reservation right away. The ambiance is perfect for any occasion! Alec was our server tonight and he was so personable, knowledgeable and flawlessly took care of all of his tables with the biggest smile. Carson City is lucky to have gained such an amazing chef who creates magic in his kitchen every night! I will be back for sure! 5 Star Amazing dishes we had tonight: Pear and Gorgonzola raviolis Seared Salmon Mushroom Bisque Crème Brûlée Vanilla ice cream with rum infused whipped cream

We went here to killed time for our hotel to be ready this place is very good. This place has good French food. If you guys are in the area or from a different state try this place it's a good place to get French food. 5/5 for the food 5/5 customer services

Coconut crème brûlée

Chef Brandon did a great job tonight. We enjoyed a puff pastry artichoke appetizer and the French onion soup to start. Both were excellent. The Y3 Taureau Napa blend is delicious and went with both of our meals. The bison chili was very tasty and the chicken Marsala was delicious comfort food. The coconut crème brûlée was silky and sweet. A very nice finish to our meal.

Here is what we noticed: - It's a pretty unassuming place...we parked in the side lot and walked around to their main entrance. They even had some specials highlighted as we entered. - Inside there is lots of seating...when we arrived the front of the place was empty, but people were sitting there when we left and we noticed that it is much quieter in that section of the restaurant than in the main dining room. - As others have noted, chorizo is their specialty and it's in many of the dishes. And, it is worth it!...and, not spicy like you might think of chorizo. My wife and I ordered the Quesadilla and the Basque Omelette, and we split both (plus, we took some home too). Each dish was really good in its own right, and being able to have the chorizo prepared two ways was great. Their home fries were really tasty too. - Service was good....very attentive, especially considering that it took us a while to decide what to order given the breadth of the menu. - We paid cash because of their sign indicating that that was preferred. Bottom line: We'd go back to Villa Basque Cafe anytime we're in Carson City...next time, we'd like to try some of their lunch options!

The other night, we finally decided it was time. We're kicking ourselves for waiting so long. From the moment we sat down, I was impressed. The wine list is easily the best in town, thoughtful, deep, and shockingly well-priced. I know a bit about wine, and most restaurants mark bottles up two times, or more, over retail. Not here. For example, they had an excellent Sonoma County Dry Creek Valley Nalle Zinfandel listed for just $48... essentially retail price. The menu itself is surprisingly expansive. It offers a range of classic and contemporary French-inspired dishes. The food was superb: beautifully prepared, perfectly balanced, and clearly made with care. It was so good we went back the very next night. In talking with the owner, I learned he hasn't raised prices in five years, which makes the experience an even more remarkable value. The service was attentive, and never rushed. Our server encouraged us to "take your time," which made it feel like an old-school French dining experience, where you're meant to relax and savor each course over several hours. For the quality, atmosphere, and overall experience, the value is outstanding. Of course, I secretly hope he doesn't raise his prices, but part of me hopes he does, because I want him to stay in business for many years to come. Incline Village is lucky to have several great restaurants, but Le Bistro stands apart. After roughly 500 meals out around town, this one genuinely surprised us and it deserves every bit of praise it gets.

The service was great as all the staff is personable and kind. The ambiance is warm and fitting especially during the winter months. The food was just what we needed on a snowy day, and the ambiance was the cherry on top. My husband and I were only here for a 3 days, and 2 of the days we spent having dinner here. We look forward to returning on our next trip and hope to share our experience with friends and family in the near future.

And we brought some Bay Area friends with us. We also came in mid-week to avoid any crowd potential. Our evening began at the bar with a round of Picon Punch, the official drink of the State of Nevada. I first thought that this was a drink that you only ordered once, but this small glass of goodness actually grew on us. After closing the bar bill and looking at all the branded merchandise, it was off to the main dining room. We chose the Basque Family Style side of the menu, which at the end of the evening resulted in number of take home containers. Our 4 choices were Basque Chicken, Fish, Lamb Shoulder, and Lamb Chops. Those came with Vegetable Soup, Salad, Beef Stew, Beans, French Fries, Bottle of Red Wine, Coffee, and Ice Cream. for the Table. These inclusive choices were priced just south of $40 and that's what the bill was at the end of the evening, as there were no extras needed. OK, the included wine was a little on the sweet side, but we didn't see the need to "upgrade" as we were too busy concentrating on the food. It was all good, especially the Soup and the French Fries. The only regret was not being here on the night they served Huckleberry Ice Cream, but our Vanilla or Pistachio Almond was good enough. JT Basque is family generation owned, and we certainly felt welcome and well taken care of. The rustic decor was also cool, as was the happy energy in the dining room. We promise to come back and not be strangers.

Why is this THE ONE when it comes to Basque dining? Well... It's steeped in history in a way you can feel from the moment you step onto the wooden sidewalk out front. You'll see it on the walls, hear it in the conversations, and taste it in the food. This is simply a special place. You'll feel truly at home, and that's because the same family has operated it for countless generations, passing down legendary hospitality like a family heirloom. From friendly greetings in the "lobby" to the homey vibes and warm servers, you'll love every moment. Doesn't hurt that the food is delicious and plentiful. Everything is made from scratch with a lot of love, and each dish is huge and hearty. Lamb chops and lamb shoulder steaks are always A+ but be sure to order the desired temp because they don't always ask. Steaks are solid too. Same tip as above. And for all three, don't forget to get them smothered in whole cloves of roasted garlic. Personally I usually can't say no to sweetbreads at a Basque spot, and that's the case here as well. They're served in a rich, garlicky and well seasoned gravy, studded with red and green peppers and whole cloves of garlic. It's the perfect dish to use up the extra bread because you won't want to leave a drop. Make sure you bring a couple bucks to leave up on the ceiling! The bartenders can show you how to make em stick. And of course, have a picon punch!

I had no idea this hotel even existed, let alone everything it has to offer. It completely exceeded expectations. We didn't stay at the hotel this time, but we already decided that on our next Lake Tahoe trip, we absolutely will. The privacy, the stunning lake views, and the overall atmosphere are just incredible. If you visit in December, they even have a private ice-skating rink and a complimentary hot chocolate bar for guests, which adds such a cozy, festive touch. We started with cocktails from the bar and sat outside by the fireplace overlooking the lake, which alone felt like a full experience. Then we managed to snag a last-minute reservation at The Edge, and wow... this meal was on another level. It truly felt like a Michelin-level experience. The service was excellent, the ambiance and layout were beautiful, and every single dish and drink impressed us. The beef carpaccio was the best I've ever had, the tuna crudo was incredibly special, and even the bread and butter were memorable. The cocktails were outstanding. And the triple-cooked chicken? Easily the best chicken I've ever had. It was one of those dishes where you're tasting so many flavors at once, you almost can't process how good it is. Even the side of mushrooms blew us away. You really can't go wrong here. It's not cheap, but it is absolutely worth it. This is one of those experiences you don't want to miss. I would give it six stars if I could.
