The meat melted in your mouth (let me try a piece) and I had the Calamari Steak which was a very generous piece and very tender and tasty. I almost forgot to mention the Au gratin Potatoes! In between selling and buying homes we needed to stay at the CVI for a few days. We closed on both today so to celebrate we went downstairs the CV Steak restaurant. We are locals and have eaten here many times, but let me just say, my rib eye was perfectly prepared, seasoned and delicious. Our waiter Cisco, was very attentive without being annoying. Clayton, one of the longtime waiters saw us come in and came to our table to say hi and check in with us. We asked him to take a pic of us with the keys to the new place. We sat at one of the 2 tops out by the bar which was great so my husband could watch the basketball game. I really cannot say enough about how great this celebratory dinner was. Find time to eat at the CV Steak. It is so good and the ambiance is warm and cozy. The food is superb and the service is excellent. 10/10. read more

OK, The CV Steak is back OPEN! Looks like the only real renovations was for the bar area up front, cause from what I can tell the rear dining area looks the same. I am glad the Sunset menu with the $29 dinner deal is still available and hasn't changed at all. The restaurant is still closed on Tuesdays. Monday I think is the slowest day, other wise you better make a reservation. My fave off the $29 menu is the Pork medallions or the 12 oz. big chopped steak of beef. The twice baked potato is the thing to get, it's the biggest dang potato I've ever seen all scooped out and filled with a potato mix of butter, bacon and herbs all browned on top , totally yummers! read more

I was staying in the hotel for like a week, so I walked by this restaurant everyday and wanted to eat here. Finally on my last night I came and ate here by myself. For a starter, I got the ahi tuna poke, it was so good, but also very filling. The bread was also filling that they give out, so by the time my actual entree came out I was stuffed! I got the seafood linguine, which also comes with a house salad, both were great! I had a few bites of the pasta before I got a box for it. I also got a glass of Mondavi Sauvignon Blanc. Everything was tasty. The service was great, the staff seemed very nice and food came out quickly, aside from having the whole entire restaurant packed! It's definitely more of a dressy, fancy type of restaurant, so I felt a little out of place when I came in to eat alone after spending the day at the lake! What an enjoyable meal and experience. We had reservations here after golfing all day so it was nice to relax in a chill environment. Clayon was our server and he was great. My buddy wanted a crab cake which cost 14 bucks for one but then I noticed their sampler of a crab cake, ahi tuna, spinach dip and shrimp cocktail was only 16 so we went that route. Glad we did because it was all good. He ordered the rib eye with twice baked potato and asparagus. I ordered the pork medallions, au gratin potatoes with asparagus, plus I added on bacon wrapped scallops. All of it was great! And yes I have no shame and will steal food from my buddies plate. Lol. Love trying as much as I can. They nailed the rib eye at medium and he added sauteed mushrooms which were a nice touch. I was a little weirded out because they cook the pork medium but it was so good and didn't give me the poops. Lol Wine is 5 bucks a glass!!! I tried the Mondavi merlot and cab. Merlot was good but the cab was great. Oh, you also get a house salad with their in house dressing which is kind of like a thousand island. Enjoyed that too. Went back to C V after a year and the restaurant is still on point. Absolutely love this place. Service is phenomenal. I had the chicken fettuccini, and it was creamy and good. Chicken cooked perfectly and tons of it. My wife had the seafood brochette and really enjoyed it. She was talking about it the day after! This place blew my expectations out of the water! Was staying at CVI for a planning conference and was debating going off-site for dinner but ended up giving this place a shot, and boy am i glad i did! I ordered the New York strip with au grautin (scalloped) potatoes and veggies. The steak was perfectly seasoned, cooked to perfection (mid rare) and very tender. The scalloped potato was absolutely amazing, tender, juicy, thick, and topped with melted and crispy white cheese (not sure what kind). Prices are low compared to similar quality restaurant that I've paid hundreds of dollars at! I'm not a seafood person but my friend had the oysters that he said were very good and there a variety of other fresh seafood dishes. Great place, if I'm back at CVI I'll definitely eat here again! read more

Two and a half stars from a returning customer. Until a year ago this steakhouse was our choice for good food and good value. We noticed the food slipping in portion size and quality a year ago, and tried it again early March 2026 after the remodel. The service that made CV Steak a level above even Friday's Station SLT were clearly missing. Gone are the small touches like using a de-crumber after every course was cleared from the table, to the way the leftover to-go boxes are now roughly delivered to our table whereas they used to take the plates away to package the leftovers in the kitchen and delivered them back to you ready to go. We only ordered 2 sets for our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids) and we only managed to finish the grilled top sirloin. Still have 1 out of the 3 pork medallion (good but wasn't as special as expected), half of twice baked potato (wish the skin is crispier) and half of au gratin potato. We're so full that we had to have the dessert to go (make sure to ask for utensils). Service was really slow though. Food only came out 40min after we ordered. I even had time to check in for my room first and order fried chicken at Katie's next door for only $8.99! I'd probably stick with Katie next time since they're cheaper and faster. read more

First off, please add some real lettuce like romaine or green leaf. The only greens in the salad were the pointy kind like frisée or arugula. Very hard to eat and kind of tasteless. My friend had the Pork Medallions which were excellent and one giant baked potato! The marinade for the meat is Dijon and molasses, very tasty. I ordered the seafood linguine. Hunter was our server and he was amazing. He was super knowledgeable about the menu and gave me the great recommendations. He was attentive and really added to the experience. The menu is one page and straight forward. The bread is the perfect combination between flaky on the outside and soft inside. The appetizer sampler had the BEST spinach artichoke dip I've ever had. Wow, this place has gone downhill. We've been here several times over the years and have always loved it. The food, service, and ambiance have kept us coming back. But last night we realized it's not the same anymore. The family came here for dinner and it was nothing we had come to expect from CV steak. The salad was average at best, with what seemed to be store bought dressing. We waited 2 hours to get our food and our steaks came out cold and the baked potatoes dry. It was so disappointing after all that wait. The place wasn't too busy so I'm not sure what was going on. Was the food just sitting there getting cold? We asked for additional bread that never arrived. I dropped my utensils and had to ask 3 different people before I finally got another set. By the end of it, we were all so disappointed that none of us will be back. It's too bad because this used to be a gem in Minden. This place is always a great place to go to on a special occasion or just an amazing dinner. Tonight my rating is a 4.5 star. We were seated by a lovely host, Emery. She is the first face of this place and she welcomed us with a smile. Our server was very nice and took good care of us. Our dinners included a beautiful salad. Our dinners were amazing except that my husband hates when the tails of shrimps are left on when in a dish. Who wants to have to use their hands during dinners to remove all the tails of the shrimps that is in their dish? So for him, his dish was a 4 star. My Salmon was delicious with a generous portion. Definitely a 5 star. My mother's marsala was more like a 4 star as well. The pasta that is added to the side really doesn't has a sauce on it. The martini was fabulous. The salad was limp. I asked for more bread but it never came. Our meal took forever to come out and when it did, the crab cake was fishy, the pork medallions were anemic looking, overcooked and COLD. My baked potato was very good and the staff was very nice. We have been to CV Steak many times in the past with wonderful experiences. Unfortunately this evening 10/21/24 was not one of them. The entrees were excellent as always, but the service and ambiance was unpleasant Entrees excellent Service/disappearing staff with very long waits Keno machine with the sound on at the in-restaurant bar 15' from our table We were celebrating my friend's birthday. She and her husband are both weekly regulars in the restaurant and the casino. Her disappointment with this particular experience was very apparent. Reservation for 6:30pm on a Monday night, a typically slow evening in the restaurant. We were on time and the hostess seated us with menus. Mater arrived very quickly with wine menu and asked for our order. We were confused that we had to ask about any specials and also for a minute to read the menu. He left and disappeared for a full 20 mins before coming back for our order. Salads arrived in a timely manner. The house dressing is always amazing but the salads were warm and wilted and the artichoke heart slices were full of the packing water. It is just plain lazy, not to let the water drain out of a canned artichoke heart before plating them. AFTER the salad plates were removed it was another full 40 minutes for the entrees to be delivered. They were good however it does not take over an hour to cook any of; toarnadoes, salmon, or fettuccine alfredo. We were allowed 20 mins to eat before they returned to "ask" if they could remove her husband's empty plate. We declined. YOU DO NOT DISTURB A TABLE TO ASK TO REMOVE A PLATE UNTIL EVERYONE AT THE TABLE HAS FINISHED!!! This is a steakhouse, NOT Denny's. The entrees were excellent They brought my friend a slice of birthday cheesecake which was a lovely gesture, unfortunately she dislikes cheesecake. And no one else at the table was offered a dessert or coffee. Which in hindsight was fine, because before the birthday dessert arrived a man sat down at the in-restaurant bar approximately 15' from us and began playing a Keno machine that had the sound turned on, it was very loud, and very annoying And then it was another 20 min wait after the desert plate was cleared for the check to arrive. Remember no one had coffee because it wasn't offered so we all simply sat there and waited for the check Pros: The entrees were excellent. The birthday dessert was a lovely gesture. The bill was reasonable for 4 persons at a steakhouse. Cons: Disappearing staff with very long waits. Wilted watery salads. Entrees took additional 45 mins to arrive after salad plates were cleared. I wish they had asked her if she liked cheesecake or offered her something different. Subtly hurried along through our meal via plate removal requests, and lack of dessert course being offered Noisy Keno machine. Additional 20 minute wait to receive the check. Had staff been managed in a timely manner we could have been finished well before the ridiculous hour of 10:30pm!!! read more

The girl on the phone was obviously very young and had no clue on showing an attempt to accommodate the "new customer." Worst service ever took 33 minutes exactly to even have a waiter come over and ask us if we would like to have a cocktail, then the service got worse after that. Food came out cold and the waiter pretty much ignored us. My steak came out so well done when I asked it rare and instead got charred steak , it was like chewing on leather.
