Lamb, Pork, filet mignon, asparagus and Augratin potatoes.

The food was delicious and cooked to perfection. I had Calamari Steak. It was very tender and a generous amount. My husband had the special. Lamb, Pork and Filet Mignon. It was cook perfect as well. We love their Augratin potatoes, they are the best! The service was awesome. Our waiter Anthony was very attentive and helpful! We really liked him. And of course the ambiance there is always very pleasant.

I was staying in the hotel for like a week, so I walked by this restaurant everyday and wanted to eat here. Finally on my last night I came and ate here by myself. For a starter, I got the ahi tuna poke, it was so good, but also very filling. The bread was also filling that they give out, so by the time my actual entree came out I was stuffed! I got the seafood linguine, which also comes with a house salad, both were great! I had a few bites of the pasta before I got a box for it. I also got a glass of Mondavi Sauvignon Blanc. Everything was tasty. The service was great, the staff seemed very nice and food came out quickly, aside from having the whole entire restaurant packed! It's definitely more of a dressy, fancy type of restaurant, so I felt a little out of place when I came in to eat alone after spending the day at the lake! I want to come back here again and try some of their steak!

What an enjoyable meal and experience. We had reservations here after golfing all day so it was nice to relax in a chill environment. Clayon was our server and he was great. My buddy wanted a crab cake which cost 14 bucks for one but then I noticed their sampler of a crab cake, ahi tuna, spinach dip and shrimp cocktail was only 16 so we went that route. Glad we did because it was all good. He ordered the rib eye with twice baked potato and asparagus. I ordered the pork medallions, au gratin potatoes with asparagus, plus I added on bacon wrapped scallops. All of it was great! And yes I have no shame and will steal food from my buddies plate. Lol. Love trying as much as I can. They nailed the rib eye at medium and he added sauteed mushrooms which were a nice touch. I was a little weirded out because they cook the pork medium but it was so good and didn't give me the poops. Lol Wine is 5 bucks a glass!!! I tried the Mondavi merlot and cab. Merlot was good but the cab was great. Oh, you also get a house salad with their in house dressing which is kind of like a thousand island. Enjoyed that too. They were nice enough to give me a piece of cheesecake drizzled in strawberry sauce for my bday. Highly recommend this place. I'll be back.

Went back to C V after a year and the restaurant is still on point. Absolutely love this place. Service is phenomenal. I had the chicken fettuccini, and it was creamy and good. Chicken cooked perfectly and tons of it. My wife had the seafood brochette and really enjoyed it. She was talking about it the day after! My buddy had the prime rib and said that it was extremely good. He has had it before there and said that it is always excellent.

Went here for their $29 Sunset special menu and was surprised with how generous their portion are. We only ordered 2 sets for our family of 4 (2 adults, 2 kids) and we only managed to finish the grilled top sirloin. Still have 1 out of the 3 pork medallion (good but wasn't as special as expected), half of twice baked potato (wish the skin is crispier) and half of au gratin potato. We're so full that we had to have the dessert to go (make sure to ask for utensils). Service was really slow though. Food only came out 40min after we ordered. I even had time to check in for my room first and order fried chicken at Katie's next door for only $8.99! I'd probably stick with Katie next time since they're cheaper and faster.

Lamb and chicken masala to go

Food is very bland. The service was not great ordered the lamb medallions, very bland, and the chicken masala didn't come with sauce. Took a while just to get salad so we gave up and asked for food to go.

And we brought some Bay Area friends with us. We also came in mid-week to avoid any crowd potential. Our evening began at the bar with a round of Picon Punch, the official drink of the State of Nevada. I first thought that this was a drink that you only ordered once, but this small glass of goodness actually grew on us. After closing the bar bill and looking at all the branded merchandise, it was off to the main dining room. We chose the Basque Family Style side of the menu, which at the end of the evening resulted in number of take home containers. Our 4 choices were Basque Chicken, Fish, Lamb Shoulder, and Lamb Chops. Those came with Vegetable Soup, Salad, Beef Stew, Beans, French Fries, Bottle of Red Wine, Coffee, and Ice Cream. for the Table. These inclusive choices were priced just south of $40 and that's what the bill was at the end of the evening, as there were no extras needed. OK, the included wine was a little on the sweet side, but we didn't see the need to "upgrade" as we were too busy concentrating on the food. It was all good, especially the Soup and the French Fries. The only regret was not being here on the night they served Huckleberry Ice Cream, but our Vanilla or Pistachio Almond was good enough. JT Basque is family generation owned, and we certainly felt welcome and well taken care of. The rustic decor was also cool, as was the happy energy in the dining room. We promise to come back and not be strangers.

Why is this THE ONE when it comes to Basque dining? Well... It's steeped in history in a way you can feel from the moment you step onto the wooden sidewalk out front. You'll see it on the walls, hear it in the conversations, and taste it in the food. This is simply a special place. You'll feel truly at home, and that's because the same family has operated it for countless generations, passing down legendary hospitality like a family heirloom. From friendly greetings in the "lobby" to the homey vibes and warm servers, you'll love every moment. Doesn't hurt that the food is delicious and plentiful. Everything is made from scratch with a lot of love, and each dish is huge and hearty. Lamb chops and lamb shoulder steaks are always A+ but be sure to order the desired temp because they don't always ask. Steaks are solid too. Same tip as above. And for all three, don't forget to get them smothered in whole cloves of roasted garlic. Personally I usually can't say no to sweetbreads at a Basque spot, and that's the case here as well. They're served in a rich, garlicky and well seasoned gravy, studded with red and green peppers and whole cloves of garlic. It's the perfect dish to use up the extra bread because you won't want to leave a drop. Make sure you bring a couple bucks to leave up on the ceiling! The bartenders can show you how to make em stick. And of course, have a picon punch!

We knew it wasn't going to be crowded and the food will be fresh, but it was so much more than that. Overland is lucky to employ Tennessee, who might just be the best server in the Carson Valley. I grant you that we haven't been to every restaurant and we haven't had every server and so it could be hyperbole to try to tell you that he's the best, but we need to be sure to let you know that he is clearly in the top percentile of quality, local servers. Why you ask. He anticipated our every need, and so we always had water, always had coffee, and he cleared every single time he got near the table. His positive energy is infectious. Yes, I can hear you now, what about the food? My wife can, on occasion, high maintenance, and this was one of those mornings. She ordered the Eggs Benedict without the bottom bread plus one more whole extra Eggs Benedict, and Tennessee didn't flinch. I ordered the vegetarian omelette and I had side breakfast potatoes. All of it tasted great. I even tried the hollandaise sauce on my wife's eggs Benedict and it tasted fresh and tasty. So, I say give Tennessee a raise, and when you go to the Overland, hope that you get seated in his section because it will be an experience that you won't forget soon, and the food is very good. Somehow, this breakfast restaurant is flying under the radar on Saturdays and Sundays. They truly deserve to be packed as they have the formula for success, great service, good food, and a clean environment..

I checked this place out in the afternoon before deciding to go to dinner there. It looked pretty casual in the menu look like something everybody would enjoy. When we got there, we were greeted nicely and our server, JC, was very nice. All of the food was bountiful. We ordered the appetizer with three different items which was pretty good. It was onion rings, fried zucchini, and fried mozzarella sticks. The zucchini was a little undercooked. On to the main courses. It took longer than we would think and they brought it out in pieces. The two men got theirs first and my daughter and I got hers a few minutes later and Grandma was served last. Grandpa ordered a steak sandwich and he said it was good. My husband ordered a Philly cheese steak, which she said was decent. Grandma ordered fish and chips and she said it was so so. The french fries were thick steak type that were really good. A couple of us tried them. My daughter and I were excited when we saw the lobster tacos and we ordered them. The chips that came with them were salty beyond belief! We could not even eat them. When I told JC, she said there's nothing they could do about the chips and she offered to take the salad off the bill which I thought was nice. Both of my daughter and I could not eat the chips. The lobster tacos were not good. If the corn tortillas were warmed or cooked, it must've been very, very little. The lobster was chopped up in a wait and mixed with some kind of sauce that we can barely taste the lobster. We got two tacos and barely ate one. We took them home, but it didn't seem worth it to try to mend this. The best thing I can say is that the people they were very welcoming and pleasant. Also, JC gave my father-in-law a lemon bar for his birthday as we walked out. That was really sweet. Lastly, make sure you bring cash because you have to pay extra for using a card. We have to pay over $6 extra because we used a card. Am I understanding is that is happening a lot in restaurants. So, I don't think this is unusual.

We came kind of late, around 8:30pm and had a party of 8, and at first they said they could not seat us but then Paula (who I assume is the manager) was able to get us in at 9:00pm and she was so kind and personable! The table and chairs we sat at were nice and study and the dining area of the restaurant was just as nice as the entrance. Our server was friendly and attentive and our wait was reasonable. Now for the negatives. Unfortunately the food was not a hit for anyone in our party. My sister-in-law got the chicken pasta and gave it a 2.5/5, she aid the chicken was overcooked, the sauce was runny, and it wasn't very flavorful. I got the Brussel Sprouts and my husband and I give them a 3/5, they were soft but not crispy and the flavor was okay. The Mac & Cheese was a 2/5 on its own but much better when we added salt/pepper, it also had no flavor but the texture was perfect. My 3 kids all got a kids pizza and they all barely ate any so I'd give another 2/5, they said they remind them of the pizza they get at school. My husband's meat pizza was also a 2/5, the crust seemed like maybe it wasn't all the way cooked & he said it tasted like a frozen pizza. My nephew gives the kids grilled cheese a 3/5. And my brother said the chicken BLT was good and he gives it a 4/5 and said he would order it again. Lastly, I ordered a wedge salad but it never came, also after I brought it to my waitresses attention she forgot to take it off the bill, but she quickly fixed it at the end and again was very kind. Unfortunately we will not be going back even though we are staying at the resort next door. We just feel for the price we would like to try other places in Tahoe instead. But I think they are worth a try if you're at the resort.
