Excellent service! Chicken fried steak and eggs with a bit of Basque spice. Casual dining in a diner atmosphere. Great options. Next time I am going to try their chorizo dishes.

Hole in the wall, happy accident. Chorizo is all pork shoulder not all the rest of the crap most places put in it. Best chorizo I ever have. I bought something to take home too. We got to try it because the waitress brought us a taste We're supposed to be eating more vegetarian so we actually both got vegetarian meals and a chorizo place, but man to die I had the burrito he had a quesadilla both were stuffed with fresh veggies, and great flavor flavors well done I just wish they weren't so far away about we'll have to make the drive

I'm amazed that my family and I have never eaten here before. Upon arrival, we were greeted with the warmest and friendliest welcome. They let us pull a couple of tables together. They asked us if we had ever tried their chorizo. I told her I was not a fan of chorizo as it is usually too spicy for me. She told me Basque chorizo was unlike other chorizo. We informed them that we had never had it. They were shocked. She brought us a small plate with several pieces on it. Oh my word, that was all she wrote. We were all in love with chorizo at the first bite. We all wanted to have some chorizo. I had the Basque omelet with Basque sauce. It was the bomb. The sauce really takes this omelet over the edge. The omelet was packed with chorizo. It was so good I ate the whole thing. I am still raving about it, and we had it on Saturday (10/18/25). It was so flavorful and tasty, I found myself savoring every bite. It is a delicately balanced omelet. My husband and daughter had the Biscuits, Potatoes, and Gravy. They each bite ended in a Oh or Ah. My son-in-law had the Chorizo Hamburger. We all shared a chorizo Tamale and Chorizo. We all took several bites. Every bite was simply scrumptious. My mother-in-law had the Chile Relleno. She said it was the best she has ever had. My son's sandwich was the only one that was ok. We all agreed that we have to eat here again. We're still raving about our meals, especially that chorizo. This meal was the kind that you'd talk about long after eating it. There are a few meals that you dream about and relive. This was definitely one of those meals. If we hadn't been going somewhere else, we would have bought some of the mild chorizo. The next time we go, we will need to bring a cooler to get some Paupusas, Chorizo, and Chorizo Tamales. The restaurant has a variety of items to purchase. It is worth checking out the canned goods, as well as their fresh and freezer sections. Not to mention that they have a vast menu with numerous specials. I purchased some aged Spanish Balsamic and Red Wine vinegars. I'm excited to try them and use them in recipes and glazes. However, if you go, you definitely have to try something with their housemade chorizo and housemade gravy. Believe me, you will be in love from the first bite. Consider bringing a cooler to bring some chorizo home with you. Not to mention, the kindness and friendliness of the wait staff will make you feel like family. Can't wait to go back here. Needless to say, if you are looking for a new breakfast spot with a scenic view. I highly recommend you give this place a try.

Copy and pasted from their website: "Chorizo is traditionally from the Basque region. Basque are people living in a small region that straddles the border of Spain and France, from the sea in the west to the Pyrenees in the east." Quality/Quantity - Another great find!! Both new places we visited today on our "field trip" have been 5 stars. See Brewery Arts Center review. My wife was craving a corned beef sandwich?!?! What, that is twice this week she is eating red meat?!?! So she got the Reuben and OMG it was perfect!! Good combination and with good proportions (if there was an extra slice of corned beef, I would not complain, lol). This was better than my last one at the Cheese Board in South Reno and that was also a 5 star review. The salad was okay. I had to get the signature sandwich, Basque Chorizo. It was good, but the ratio was off with all that bread. If I had an extra sausage... I think that would have made it so much better. The bread could have been toasted another minute, to give it more texture. Also, the fries could have stayed in the fryer another minute or so. Many specials, see my pictures. Ambiance - Decent size location. Two indoor rooms for seating. Plus a small outdoor seating area. The meat shop is where they make their chorizo. A gift shop; see pictures. Open 5 days a week from 6am to 4pm (until 2pm for the grill/kitchen); closed on Sunday & Monday. Decent size parking lot. Fairly easy in and out. Clean restrooms, one for men and one for women. Service - 5 stars. Friendly and communicated well, we just got here after their major lunch rush and they told us they were behind. I really like the fact they know all the regulars. A very steady flow of customers coming in just to buy chorizo to go. Too bad my freezer is so full. Price - $30 + tip. Reasonable price. Actually because we are light eaters, we will get two meals out of this. If possible bring cash, too bad I gave all my cash away as tip last night at the Yelp event, Dinner Party: Lemon & Lime Indian Cuisine & Bar. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1997. Copy and paste from their website ,"Pete's famous Chorizo originated in 1984 in Battle Mountain, Nevada."

How have I not written a review for here yet??! We recommend Villa Basque Cafe to everyone and have coming here for yearsss!! Service is fast, friendly and incredible - they are quick to get our drink and food orders taken and delivered to our table so that everything is fresh && hot! The fresh squeezed juices are ahhhhmazing and a great addition to any meal - breakfast or lunch. Open seating with tables setup and menus right on the table - you come in and feel welcomed. Some of our favorite dishes are: Enchilada Stack (off the secret menu), Housemade Corned beef hash, Lily's Special, Biscuits & Gravy, Stuffed Chili Relleno w/chorizo, Chorizo & ham benedict, Lamb wrap, Sheepherd Burger 1/4 beef & 1/4 chorizo patties w/all the fixings and the best dip EVER the Lamb dip ~ yummy goodness!! We recently tried the French Toast with kiwi and banana - it was sweet deliciousness!! Stop in & grab a delicious meal you will be so happy you did!! Enjoy!!

A Hidden Treasure With the Best Basque Sausage on Earth! If you love discovering those little "blink-and-you'll-miss-it" spots that completely blow you away, this restaurant is it. Tucked away like a true local secret, this quaint hole-in-the-wall delivers one of the best meals I've ever had--specifically the Basque sausage, which deserves its own award! The moment you walk in, you know you've found something special. No frills, no fuss--just friendly faces, the comforting aroma of food made with love, and a charm you can't fake. The Basque sausage is the star of the show: perfectly seasoned, rich, smoky, and absolutely bursting with flavor. You can taste the tradition in every bite. I'm not exaggerating when I say it may truly be the best Basque sausage in the world. It's the kind of place where the food warms your soul, the people make you feel like a regular, and you leave already planning your next visit. If you're anywhere near this spot--GO. Your taste buds will thank you. Five stars and then some!

Honest dine in review: One of the best kept secrets in Carson. 5/5 Make sure to walk in well before 2:30pm if you plan to dine in as they close the kitchen. This was one of the more memorable walk-in experiences as this shop is known for their chorizo dishes as the sausage is made in house and it's definitely something to order to make at home or to eat when you dine in. Look at the pictures below: -Chorizo tamale: 5/5 Definitely interesting. They're made to take home frozen so they're frozen and reheated and sauced with cheese and a ranchers sauce. Their house made flavor of the masa is what you'd expect of a good homemade tamale however, the chorizo is definitely a different touch to the traditional dish and it's actually really good! I'm interested in trying them without the add ons but a delicious dish! Basque burger: 5/5 A week later, I'm still thinking about this burger... chorizo patty on a traditional burger they make it that bit extra to call it a basque burger. This burger is what a jalapeño burger wishes it could be. Spicy, savory, perfectly seasoned with a rich and juicy patty on both the chorizo and beef patty. The breads delicious and it's simply just a better than well made burger. When you see it, the caramelization of the chorizo makes you just want to stare at it as it smells delicious and looks are to match its flavor. Well. Done. The to go options are also delicious as well, please stop in to visit this restaurant as it's a hole in the wall that's been in Carson that I'll say is a centerpiece to what we will say a great eats venue should be considered

Villa Basque cafe was an amazing find on a whim for lunch! The amazing chorizo is the king here as it has been a family recipe for over 40 years and I have had none better. Attentive and helpful server offered a sample and we were immediately sold! Partner enjoyed French toast with of course chorizo! We liked it so much we bought some to take back home. A local favorite in a weathered homey ambiance.

    Pork Cutlet smothered in gravy!

Villa Basque deserves every bit of praise and then some. We had almost forgotten about this incredible restaurant and its amazing breakfast and lunch menu--until fate stepped in. We originally planned to go to one of our favorite breakfast spots, the Cracker Box, but when we arrived and saw the sign that read "Gone Ice Fishing - Back on the 14th," we suddenly remembered Villa Basque. And wow, are we glad we did. From the moment you look at the menu, you realize this place is something special. It's extensive, thoughtfully put together, and everything is homemade. A true standout is their homemade chorizo, which is available all over the menu--especially at breakfast and lunch--and even sold in bulk to take home (a dangerous temptation in the best possible way). We ordered a variety of dishes, and every single one was flawless: A chorizo tamale bursting with flavor A chorizo omelette that was rich, hearty, and perfectly cooked Homemade corned beef hash that tasted like pure comfort Eggs with absolutely delicious home-fried potatoes A pork cutlet smothered in gravy that was tender, savory, and unforgettable Every plate at the table was five-star quality. Not a single miss. Villa Basque also serves dinner, which is now firmly on our must-return list. Beyond the food, the restaurant itself is spotless. They proudly display an "A" rating, and it shows--clean restrooms, a pristine dining area, and even what we could see of the prep and kitchen areas looked immaculate. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and attentive without hovering, always checking in at just the right moments. One thing to note--and this is not a negative for us--is that Villa Basque is on the pricier side. But let's be honest: you absolutely get what you pay for. With food this incredible, we'd happily pay double any day of the week. Villa Basque is the kind of place that reminds you why great restaurants matter--homemade food, quality ingredients, care in every dish, and genuine hospitality. If you haven't been, you're missing out. If you've forgotten about it like we almost did, this is your sign to go back.

    Basque three egg omelette
    Bob S.

Had some auto work nearby so after I went to Villa Basque Cafe for breakfast. The place has an old school diner feel to it with a in house butcher counter. I entered I was greeted and told to sit wherever I wanted to. There were about 15 people sitting sporadically throughout with several tables available. I was immediately approached by my waiter and the menu was on the table. He asked me what drink and quickly brought my coffee. I ordered the Basque three egg omelette with the potatoes. It was a good size portion with a Basque tomato sauce and cheese covering it. The omelette had Chorizo, ham, mushrooms, pimentos, and onions. The Chorizo was mildly spicy but I was told you can order it spicier. Overall I really enjoyed the place and will come back for dinner. Come check it out.

Got to try their chile relleno, did not disappoint. The chili was stuffed with cheese and ground meat, breaded and fried, came with a nice tomato based sauce. Adding a egg was a nice touch, you can also order this la carte without the rice and beans if you desire. The staff's service was impeccable as always, they were very on top to let you know the progress of your dish being cooked as well to keep your beverage topped off if you desire. I will neeto come back for their lamb dish the next visit, they don't always have that special on the menu.

Amazing! The chorizo chile relleno is so tasty. Nice family atmosphere and good service. We will definitely be back.

Is anyone Celiac and had JUST the chorizo? Is it Gluten-free? Thanks!

yes, it's just meat inside and a pork casing. no fillers.

    Do they serve beer?

Being that this is mostly a breakfast and then lunch place .... they do not have the demand for beer and wine to warrant a liquor license, so NO there is no beer served here.

    Are reservations recommended?

No. We showed up and sat immediately at 11:00am on a Saturday.
