I have ordered on Doordash since they changed location, and I have to say, the quality of their food, at least what I have ordered, has taken a sharp dive in quality. A few weeks ago, I ordered a torta of carnitas. In the past, the tortas have been very good, this one was not. It had very little of the cárnitas, and one piece and only one small piece of avocado, the rest was all vegetables. Today, I ordered the shrimp burrito and a piece of flan. The burrito, in the past, had nice size shrimp and it was fresh. The burrito today had small, hard shrimp, and was filled with a lot of cabbage and other vegetables. It tasted nothing like it did before. And the flan was subpar also, they arent using the right kind of milk, so the flan isnt smooth, it has a lot of bubble holes, and the flavor was very blah. This used to be one of my favorite places to order Mexican, but unless the quality of the food improves, I'll be going elsewhere. read more

This review is for the service deli restaurant of the new Centuro. This is my first time here as I usually get burritos at Playa Azul more towards the center of town. The store seem like a typical Mexican supermarket. I go over to the deli counter. Seems like the person is taking orders and speaks English well enough. I ask what's inside a Burrito? She tells me beans, rice, onions cilantro and the meat you choose. What? NO cheese included? She answers, cheese is extra. What the hell, who ever heard of a burrito with no cheese included? OK, I add cheese for 50 cents more. The prices seem reasonable, compared to Playa Azul where cheese is included. It's $9.50 here plus 50 cents for the cheese. OK, I'm good with that. What brings the star rating way down, enough for me not to come back, is the order on one lousy burrito took like 20 minutes or more to come out and this was like at 10:15 in the morning! Slapping together a burrito and rollin it takes no more than a few minutes, I've seen it done (not here). Watching, looks like they have a lot of to go orders they're making first and tossing them under the counter to be picked up later. Makes more sense to make the orders of the people waiting at the counter BEFORE to go orders where the customer is not even here! Forget this stupid service waiting that long! The burrito on top of that was MISSING the damn cheese I paid extra for! It was rolled and wrapped kind loose and was not stable to eat like other burrito places. The dining area was fine to eat at, but just getting the food was the problem and it wasn't made correctly! Forget this Centuro Market for made deli food. read more

Their kitchen is open early and just as their doors open the lines pile in just as quick. I'm in love with this new location, their old location was a lot smaller and parking was limited and a pain to get around. My sister in law and I came by for a big catering order for my niece's birthday last month. We ordered a tray of carnitas, a tray of asada, one of beans and another of Mexican rice and red and green salas. Everything was amazing and our guests were able to pack food to-go. The employees that helped us were all so friendly and helpful. We ended up ordering tacos and a burrito to-go. They have seating available for dine-in, so we enjoyed it fresh and hot. We were amazed the entire time we were in this store that their line never died down. I can't wait to come back and eat there. I had to stop by their bakery on the way out for pan dulce for my family. I stole a bite of the old man's concha. This kitchen and bakery are top tier. I love coming to Mexican markets that have an attached kitchen, the food is fresh and you can pick up some essentials for your cocina while getting tacos or a burrito. I came in with some friends on a late evening and the place was still busy. Some items are a la carte, so you can try a number of different things without having to worry about combos. The tacos are on the small side, but that is great too because you can try more options! I ordered 4 tacos pastor, they were juicy and flavorful. I could have had more, but it was enough to satisfy me. I also got a large horchata, it was made fresh and was delicious! It could have been filtered a little better, it was a touch gritty, but that is the only thing I would have changed in my whole meal. Next to the kitchen there is a seating area to enoy your meal. They're hardworking, efficient, and always willing to go the extra mile. On top of that, they set such a great vibe in the store. It's not unusual to find Hector behind the counter singing along to Juan Gabriel or another classic tune. That kind of energy makes every visit feel like a small celebration of culture and community. Centro Market isn't just a store, it's a piece of home. Note: The store will be relocating sometime after the holidays -- possibly in January -- near the Dairy Queen area on Hwy 50. Got centro market for the first time as a to go meal and we liked it! I got a veggie burrito and added Guac, cheese and sour cream. I feel these ingredients usually already come on a veggie burrito so I was surprised go have to pay extra for them. The burrito was HUGE. Overall pretty good but a little salty. My husband got an Al pastor burrito and also added Guac, sour cream and cheese. He liked it but wished the ingredients were a little more evenly mixed. If you are looking for an awesome Mexican market in Carson look no further. I could spend this whole review on just the hot food section. The store is fairly large and and as far as I can tell as a non-Mexican expert there is tons of selection of grocery items here for you. I really liked the layout as you entered the store and it was very colorful. The show stealer for me was the hot food area where you could get what appeared to be almost anything you could think of prepared, and it smelled absolutely delicious. On this particular day I was there in scout of morning pastries as I've been on a kick to try different bakeries. They had a large available pastry section. Our friends live in Carson City and highly recommended this place to us for lunch! This is a market where you can get groceries but they also have a kitchen where they make delicious Mexican food. Ordering at the counter was a bit overwhelming, the menu is on a display screen but kept changing as I was trying to order. It would be helpful to have a screen that does not change, or at least have printed versions of the menu. The staff talk very fast and were obviously in a hurry during their busy lunch crowd, so it felt pretty rushed trying to order. My husband got the carne asada burrito with red sauce, I got carne asada fries, and we split two tacos (chicken and carnitas). The food was all delicious! Their meats were especially impressive and cooked so well. The salsas were very flavorful and made everything taste even better. I wasn't a huge fan of the carne asada fries, I wish they came with guacamole and some other additional toppings. You can purchase their salsas and guacamole in bulk here which is pretty cool. I wish I could've tried more and/or added some to my fries but I didn't really have time to ask if that was an option since they were moving through the line so fast. They also have some homemade drinks in giant jugs by the register, I got a horchata and it was so good! Extra sweet though, so probably not something everyone would like. The prepared food is great! The store is well-stocked with all kinds of goodies and they have beautiful pastries and a well-supplied carniceria. The staff aren't always friendly. My son and I have gotten dirty looks for who knows why but we suspect that because of how we look we're expected to speak Spanish and when we don't we're met with disappointment. Idk if the same happens with White customers but I assume not. My partner is White and we still get dirty looks when we come in together. Those staff who are friendly and accommodating are greatly appreciated. Because of this we now rarely visit unless my son is craving their yummy quesabirrias. I ordered from Centro via Door Dash. The food was great. I order a burrito and it had a great taste meat to tortilla ratio. The Asada (Carne Asada) burrito came with sour cream and onions, I added lettuce, pico de gallo and cheese for $11.24. It was hugh and I was not able to finish it. The tacos were loaded with meat that had great flavor top with cilantro on onions. I will definitely be order from here again!!! read more

I have never had a bad experience at Centro Market. The prepared food is as close as one can get outside of Mexico. This place is always extremely crowded. One problem I saw in 2024 reviews may be a communication issue. Quite a few employees don't speak fluent English. So please be patient and speak slowly and clearly when ordering. If you're going to the Butcher Department, walk from end to end and see what they have. If you're looking for something for a gathering that isn't out, ask about ordering the day before. I had a party at our home for 40+ people and ordered the food from Centro Market. I love their meats, salsas, guac, etc. When I went to pick up my order the cashier told me to get a shopping cart to take it all to the car. I asked if anyone could assist and she said NO! After spending $400+ on food, you would think the service would be better. With that being said ~ the food was outstanding, all of our guests asked where I purchased it from and they all said they wanted to go on their own. Everything I received was excellent. The parking lot is super busy, small, awkward and hard to get back on the road when packed. Their raw meat from what I've ordered is good, pricey but good. Ranchera, smoked pork chops, diesmillo, and others. I love the thick with meat, fat, chicharon. I cut into thinner pieces and air fry, make corn tortillas, use their refried beans and make pico de gallo with guacamole on top tacos. Their birria is also a must, ask for little or no liquid or you'll pay by the pound for the juice. Have had their carnitas and buche which I like for tacos. Their Mexican Rice is bomb and always just right...I can't make to save my life! All their produce is usually good, just some things are very pricey (jalapeños, tomatoes, cilantro and few more). They have ground frozen Venison for making Premium Burgers. Love the Central American Sour Cream (aka Salvdorean), is richer than the plain Jane normal one! Sopes are not served as it should be. The chef placed the sope with beans, meat, and cream and then, on top of them, they threw an entire salad with lettuce, big slices of tomatoes and onions. That is not a sope. Please, with all the respect, google a sope recipe and follow it. It's awful to buy a fake sope. We're looking for the authentic Mexican food. I promise you that the recipe was less complicated than what you served to us. The salsas were not hot at all. The chicharrones were ok and the ceviche tostada fine. We bought bolillos and ham.
