Amazing tacos. They make them fresh as it took a good 10-12 min to make but they came out incredible. Highly recommend!

Quality/Quantity - Complimentary Chips and Salsa - Love hearty chips, and my wife thought they were home made...? I think it was store bought... Quesabirria Tacos - 4 (small) tacos, a cup of sauce and a side of condiments, toppings. See pictures. If you have been following, I have been on a Birria Taco quest, trying this type of tacos every change I get. These were just okay. The sauce was good and it had generous meat/beef. But it lacked cheese?!?! See my last Birria Taco review at Mama Papa. Chimichanga - My wife really enjoyed this. She did not believe me when I told her that this was a deep fried burrito, lol. Generous portions, and she was only able to eat half. Guess we have dinner tonight. My wife and I felt the food was fairly authentic. BTW - EVERYONE ordered soup!! Menudo, Pozole, 7 Mares or Caldo de Res, etc! My wife really wanted to order this to try, but it was 70 degrees outside. Just means we have to come back. :) Kids menu also available. Atmosphere - Small location, the indoor and outdoor space was about the same size. Full of locals, everyone sort of knew each other which was cool. Semi open kitchen. One unisex restroom, I did not bother to check it out. Open 7 days a week from 8am to 8pm as per Yelp. Plenty of parking Service - Overall good, welcoming. Counter or table service. We kind of stood out, and not in a negative way. The owner/cashier wanted to make sure we enjoyed our meal. The waiter was a hard worker, cleaning our table, and bringing out chips and salsa to us. Then we went to the counter to order. Price - No prices on the menus?!?! $30 + generous tip. Reasonably priced, but for a "hole in the wall"?!?! Owner Comment - Congrats on your success.

For me, the tortilla chips and salsa are a good litmus test of how the food is going to be. All I can say is the chips were AMAZING. Crisp and flavorful. These chips were clearly homemade. The salsa was meh, but the chips were amazing. On this day, we were taken care of two wonderful Latina's, which added to the authenticity of the experience. I overheard our waitress saying she was from Mexico City. Legit. Our friends ordered the Sopas and Birria "soup". The Sopas looked amazing, with a hand formed tortilla and served with a variety of proteins. Our friend ordered the carnitas and chorizo, to have a couple of flavors to sample. She said that the tortilla was bit different than "her mom would make" but did not take away anything from the dish. Her husband had the Birria "soup". I don't know if that was the official name but that's what it looked like. LOL. Served in a rich broth (not oily) were wonderfully seasoned, tender chunks of Birria beef. Whenever a Mexican restaurant offers Menudo for breakfast, I'm down. Menudo it was. This dish was served with Tripe only, lacking the familiar hominy in the dish. I came to understand, the inclusion of hominy varies, depending on where in Mexico the recipe comes from. Well, all right, now I know. The kiss of death of Menudo is if the soup is "oily". No oily broth here. The dish was perfect, served all the normal accoutrement, including onions, cilantro and oregano. Now about the tortillas. We were told that the tortillas were hand made. O-M-G. These were the most delicious corn tortillas I have ever had. I couldn't stop eating them. OMG. Last but not least, my wife ordered the breakfast burrito. She ordered it with bacon instead of the normal Chorizo. Her breakfast burrito was legit. I don't know how they prepared their potatoes but man-o-man were they good. The burrito is also served with Mexican Queso. SO GOOD. The cheese added creamy goodness to the burrito. What a great meal. The restaurant is small but super clean and the staff were amazing. We are looking forward to sampling more of the menu. Que Bueno

I ordered it without beans, I can do without refried beans but when he got his he had me try his beans. They were not refried. They were so well cooked, with such an amazing depth. Anyway, before I digress...... really yummy. Did I mention it was $10 a plate for a taco, enchilada and a tamale with beans and rice!!! I bought a dozen tamales to put in the freezer because..... Wow!! We do our fair share of traveling and finding authentic Mexican food is our jam and this place checks all the boxes. Felt like I was eating love and tradition. They were really dry. I'm used to sauced enchiladas. The beans had no flavor at all and same with the rice. The husband said the same about the enchiladas. The tamale looked big, but there was literally hardly any filling in it. The prices are very reasonable. $10 I believe for most plates. Has great stars, but not the place for us. They were busy and have been there forever. So I'm glad they have an awesome following.

The store seem like a typical Mexican supermarket. I go over to the deli counter. Seems like the person is taking orders and speaks English well enough. I ask what's inside a Burrito? She tells me beans, rice, onions cilantro and the meat you choose. What? NO cheese included? She answers, cheese is extra. What the hell, who ever heard of a burrito with no cheese included? OK, I add cheese for 50 cents more. The prices seem reasonable, compared to Playa Azul where cheese is included. It's $9.50 here plus 50 cents for the cheese. OK, I'm good with that. What brings the star rating way down, enough for me not to come back, is the order on one lousy burrito took like 20 minutes or more to come out and this was like at 10:15 in the morning! Slapping together a burrito and rollin it takes no more than a few minutes, I've seen it done (not here). Watching, looks like they have a lot of to go orders they're making first and tossing them under the counter to be picked up later. Makes more sense to make the orders of the people waiting at the counter BEFORE to go orders where the customer is not even here! Forget this stupid service waiting that long! The burrito on top of that was MISSING the damn cheese I paid extra for! It was rolled and wrapped kind loose and was not stable to eat like other burrito places. The dining area was fine to eat at, but just getting the food was the problem and it wasn't made correctly! Forget this Centuro Market for made deli food.

You just put your order in with the guy at the cash register. The menu is up on the wall. My friend got some pupusas, sort of like grilled stuffed tortillas. I went for the super burrito and we shared some street tacos. Tacos were just $2.25 each and the burrito was $9.99. I got both with al pastor for my meat choice. The salsa bar has lots of different choice to choose from from mild to super hot ... all labeled. The cooks just call out your order, so you better listen for it. The street tacos had a ton of meat on them and I just put some salsa one all of them as well as adding onions and greens. Wow, these were some of the best tacos I ever had! Just pick them up and fold and shove in mouth! Tasty! The burrito was a little different than other burritos I've had. The tortilla shell wasn't as thick of doubled over in the folding so it wasn't as easy to get it to stand up to eat hand held from one end, but having less tortilla is better cause it's easier to bite into and the taste of the fillings come through better. I like this burrito! I'd come back here again if I'm in the area. Sometimes I have my crew with me for work out on East Carson sometimes, I'll bring them here.

We were hungry and decided we wanted Mexican food. We've been really tired of the place we've been visiting as we are regulars there. We've been really wanting to try something new and I remembered there was a place down the street from the plaza we were at. San Marcos Grill is not very hard to find. It's just off the main drag going through Carson City on Winnie Lane. We pulled in to the parking lot and I have to be honest. My first thought was wow I hope this place is good. Because I had my doubts being in a strip mall. But you never know unless you try. So we walked, and I was amazed, how awesome this place looked I'm talking very festive, very clean. Tables were well spaced out. The lady greeted us immediately and pointed us to a table where we could sit at. She was there taking our drink orders very quickly. As we sat and looked over the menu, I could not get over the size and beauty of the bar that they have in this establishment. Complete with a great selection of any kind of drink, you could possibly want also TVs that are spaced around the establishment so if you want to watch a sport event, there's not a bad seat anywhere in the restaurant. After looking over the menu, our server came to our table was a very nice young lady and took our orders. My wife chose the beef enchiladas, and a taquito, which comes with rice and beans As I always do with a new establishment, I chose the Carnitas plate. I am a Carnitas aficionado and I always try everyone's Carnitas to see if they are legit. As we're waiting for our food, I noticed an older gentleman who was just helping everybody, come to find out he is the owner. I do not know his name, but he's very friendly guy and very warm and welcoming. As I said, the establishment is very spacious and clean. The bathroom was even clean, so it was a real joy to be there, even though we were waiting on our food, which did not take very long. My wife ordered a margarita that she really liked and I just had a Modelo with a lime. The gentleman I just told you about who I think is the owner brought our food to us and it looked amazing. Needless to say, we dug right into our food and I could not get over how great these Carnitas tasted. Not everyone can make really good Carnitas, they're either dry or they're cooked too long to were they are too crispy. These are so tender and flavorful. I enjoyed every bite. My plate came with rice in a small bowl of beans, a garnish of avocado, sour cream and pico. It also came with very hot corn tortillas The tortillas, however we're spoiled and tasted really old. In fact, you can smell how old they were. I let our server know, but it was no big deal because I had tortilla chips still on the table. She offered to get me some new tortillas, but it was fine because I only use the tortilla to kind of put my food onto the fork. So the tortilla chips worked just fine. I kept trying to eat the Carnitas slowly because I was savoring it so much. I did not want to hurry and be done with the meal too fast. This was our first visit here, and I can tell you that we will be back and probably become regulars. The staff here is very wonderful welcoming and I cannot recommend this place high enough to anyone that wants a great place to eat really great Mexican food. Kudos to the staff.!
