As I walked in I was greeted immediately. I was solo so I asked to sit at the counter. It was empty so I had my pick of seats. All of the breakfast option looked good but big so I went for a sandwich. It had a fried egg, bacon, lettuce, tomato, jack cheese and green chiles and the tastiest, hot, perfectly seasoned fries. The sandwich was a bit too big to bite so I took off the bread and ate it with my knife and fork. The combination of flavors worked well together, lol hence the name I'm guessing. But the fries were the star. I believe my server was the manager, she was timely taking my order, and I didn't wait long for my food either. The restaurant looked similar to another Pegs in Sparks. Been here a few times but I realized I needed to leave a review. Inside it's very old school with several booth seating and a counter area. As we arrived we were immediately sat down. The waitress was polite and professional. She quickly served us coffee and took our order. I ordered the Peglet omelette which has jack and cheddar cheese with bacon bits. It came with hash browns and toast. The omelette was a good size, fluffy and with tons of cheese and bacon bits. It was pretty good and I would order it again. This is a good place for breakfast with plenty to choose from and I recommend it. read more

Seats are not comfortable, no padding. We def understand they dont want you to stay longer than necessary! The wait was just a few min before our party of 4 was seated. The pork chop and eggs was okay. The pork was a bit dry. The meat lovers omelet was good. Hashbrowns only, no house potatoes. And no mimosas or bloody Mary's. So there we were, asking our granddaughter where she'd like to have her birthday breakfast. She says pegs, glorified ham, and eggs. She's only 10 now and she knows what she wants. It's a Sunday morning and so I expected a crowd, but we got lucky and we were able to slip right into a booth. As we left, I couldn't help but notice the0 crowd that was waiting, filled the waiting area and spread to outside the restaurant. Yes, we were appreciative that we didn't have to do that. Had we had to, we would have been rewarded with food that was worth the wait. Our granddaughter knew what she wanted, the Mickey Mouse pancakes with the whipped cream ears and the fruit smiles ordered off the children's menu. my wife ordered the huevos rancheros and I had the chorizo egg scramble. Both arrived and clearly exceeded our capacity for consumption. They were awesome to behold, and they tasted as good as they looked. If this restaurant wasn't 15 miles from my house, I might be here weekly. Our server did a great job of taking our order and the people that brought the food to the table did so in an efficient and effective fashion. This was all done like it was a practiced ballet. Tried out this pegs for the first time over the weekend and it was pretty good. It was busy but we were able to get in and get a table right away which is basically unheard of for pegs. I can't remember our servers name unfortunately but she was great! Very attentive and friendly. Super patient with us as we navigated the menu and had questions. We had our toddler and he can be a handful so we don't like to bring him out to eat much but our server was so nice and made us feel very comfortable! I got the veggie omelette i think it was called the plaza and it was good. I do wish they had different potato options other than just hashbrowns but it was good. My husband got the Portuguese sausage and eggs and that was good too! The only coffee they have is diner drip. Would be awesome to see more options with coffee as well. Overall we did have a good experience but the food here is pretty expensive and not the best meals so not our usual go to. read more

During the wait time for my car to be serviced at a nearby dealership I had a "breakfast" lunch at the Carson city Peg's. Coffee service was stellar...I had two friends join me and we shared a great meal . The ambience was well suited for conversation. I got the Joe's scramble with tomato's substituted for hash browns. The ground turkey wa great, I was glad I selected that instead of what I would usually order (ground chuck) All in all it was a very nice meal. The only negative for me was the absence of a senior menu selection as their portion sizes are rather hardy. read more

I would highly recommend Peg's. They've recently renovated and it really spruced up the restaurant. I had the basic 2 egg breakfast with hashbrowns and sourdough toast. My eggs were a perfectly cooked over medium, just like I like it. The hasbbrowns were cooked well, not undercooked like so many other places. The sourdough toast was divine! I'm definitely going back. We had a party of 9 and everyone raved about their meals and the service. Our server, Kimberly was very attentive, always topping drinks off and checking back to see if we were doing okay. We'll be back! read more

We have been going to Peg's since they opened but everything went down hill. The establishment looks bad and run down. We were happy to see that they finally renovated. But the new seats are not comfortable. No padding to seat on, it's just wood. They didn't even renovated their table. It's so stained that it looks like it hasn't been cleaned for years. The service was horrible, the long time servers, the nice ones are gone. Our server, Theresa was horrible. She was rude and gave us an attitude. I saw that there was also a bad review about this server. Owner needs to visit this restaurant. It seems like people are getting complacent. read more

We had a tasty breakfast here recently. The restaurant is spacious and airy. The staff are friendly and attentive. And this last visit I was happy to discover that there was another veg option. (Since the plague, many restaurants have gone with only meat or mostly meat options.) I think Peg's used to have a veggie benedict?, but that's been long gone. The happy news is they now have a build your own omelet (or scramble) option on their menu. So you can easily get something to your tastes and/or dietary restrictions. I ordered a build your own scramble with mushrooms, spinach and onions and it was delicious. I'm so happy to see more choices. We'll be back. read more

Pretty pricey for the food, but great service. They've done a good job seeming trendy, but the food is lacking. The biscuits and gravy were less than average. The biscuit was very dense. The gravy was thick and gummy. The Denver omelet was not an omelet. It was scrambled egg that was poured into a pan and not stirred, with a very minimal amount of raw veggies and tiny bits of ham scattered on top... and then folded over. The sourdough might as well have been tough white bread. And with a $7 orange juice poured from a carton and unremarkable coffee, three of the less expensive meals totaled sixty bucks. read more

We ate here 3 days in a row while in town for Street Vibrations. Food is good, comes out fairly quickly, and all servers were all nice. Is it the best food I've ever had in my life or fancy.....no. But it's consistently good. I know we will be back to one of their locations next year. read more

What do only models work here??? Peg's has that old school old small town feel. Staff was very nice and quick with service. Drinks never got empty. Seen a huge bisect come out from kitchen and had to get on with grave for the table, it was great! Good gravy is hard to find now a days. I had the Peg's omelette and it was BIG! Stuffed will filling. The toast there is bottom less and the sour dough is thick. We had a party of 5 and every one left happy. I will return since I visit the area often. read more

My take:very small pork chops with rice that didn't get enough moisture & a very creamy Mac salad ( it was good, but personally I like it less creamy, nonetheless still good). The scrambled eggs were nice & fluffy. *Meat Lover's Omelette (Not Pictured) Ham,Sausage Bacon plated with hash browns & a sweet slice of orange. Good ratio of meats with hash & a great omelette. If you want Pico, be prepared to dish out $3.50 & it wasn't fresh, nor worth it, we ended up just getting 1 scoop & leaving the rest. * Corned Beef Hash & Omelette Fresh slices of corn beef (initially thought it was bacon) & little sweet maybe bc they glazed it? As unique as this was, it took a little getting accustomed to, so I personally wouldn't order it again. The omelette was satisfying & the hash brown was your average grilled shredded potatoes. Normally love to come here and staff in the past has been so welcoming. Annoyed that online it still says closes at 2:00pm yet they have a cardboard sign saying they close at 1:30pm. We walked in at 1:08pm and immediately got attitude from the hostess with the lip piercing. Flustered we came in towards closing. Then shortly after two more people walked in after us. The last at 1:16pm, when you see the hostess throw her left hand holding the order book, over her head looking at the manager. I understand "times have changed" but when the Huevos rancheros was the best money could buy at $9.99, is now $15.99 with NO change other than the price. Makes you wonder if it is worth it. Disappointed in this once lively, best bang for your buck diner, that now has over priced burnt coffee and greeted with attitude from a subpar hostess. Went here this morning for breakfast. As soon as we entered, the carpet was filthy, the pictures hanging on the wall were held by cords, some were missing and the others were crooked. If you treat your business like this, you can imagine what the quality of the food might be. Well, it was bad. I had eggs and hash browns because getting bacon was extra and I don't eat a lot anyway. Ask for my eggs lightly scrambled. ‍ got them and it was like over cooked spongy eggs. I don't think they were actually cracked eggs. My hash browns were cut in a perfect square and had the taste of old grease. The waitress was sweet and kind, that's the only reason for 2 stars. The place is run down and gross. My waitress when I first came in was Eva then the shift came and I got the worst waitress, Theresa!! Food is the same as the service! When the cooks aren't overwhelmed the food is good but if they're too busy chatting amongst themselves is not. Our waitress was amazing and I wish I knew her name because she was so kind and attentive. I ordered the plaza omelette and it was absolutely delicious. It was full of vegetables and cooked perfectly. The hashbrowns were great. They were crunchy on the outside but still moist in the middle. My husband got a pancake, eggs and bacon, and they were all good. The fresh squeezed orange juice was truly that. I don't know how anyone could give this place a 1, 2 or three stars. It's always busy, which is understandable. Everyone always has a smile on their face but when the waitress continuously forgets things and doesn't clarify prices then I don't recommend this place. I love their food so I will probably come back, but I'm never ordering the orange juice ever again. They charged me $8 which is ridiculous for mediocre juice. The waitress didn't come by to fill up my coffee and there was only a few creamers in the bowl. Not to mention when my husband, our two kids, and myself arrived, we got brought to a dirty table and my son's high chair they brought over had caked on pancakes.
