A favorite local hang-out. They have a wide range of slots, poker slots, keno slots, and table games. This is by far my favorite Casino in Carson. This casino has always tried hard to make the locals feel special. They offer a variety of specials and fun ways to earn points in their player's club. If you have a player's card on your birthday you get a coupon for a piece of birthday cake. Just the casino's way of making you feel appreciated. This Casino is tied in with Legends Bay Casino in Reno. Several Restaurants and bars are here. Along with Duke's Steakhouse. The player's card entitles you to specials in their restaurants. i've been going to Casino Fandango since the day that it opened, the people there are so friendly and all of the upgrades are really beautiful. The new governors grill is all very modern and tastefully done and today I had the special between 2 and 5 PM which is an 8 inch personal pizza with one topping for $5.09 my friend had the Western burger which was huge and for $1.50 extra switch from regular fries to sweet potato fries, which was a generous serving. I understand that they will be upgrading the menu and they are now working on the new menu for Ti Amo's s Italian restaurant. read more

Went to the grill at Fandango this morning for a birthday breakfast and since it was a special occasion we ordered the Filet and eggs. At first bite the eggs were warm, but not hot and got colder as we ate. The steak was too tough to eat . When asked how our food was we told the cashier it was not good and was asked "well what do you want us to do about it - we can give you a free dessert and so what do you want a free breakfast. It was too unpleasant to deal with!!. We left without finishing or food and will probably not go back there since my husband became violently ill before we even got home. Great site for our convention! Large venue, great sound system, and 2 large screens. They even changed the wall marques to reflect our event. The food was fabulous. It was served buffet style. We had breakfast of assorted, pastries, fresh fruit, yogurt, scrambled eggs, sausage and bacon, and fried potatoes lunch was a Buffet taco bar that served corn tortillas, beans, rice, chicken, ground beef, with all the fixings on another table that included cheese. Sour cream, salsa, jalapeño peppers, and of course, lots of guacamole and chips. Dinner came and we had Caesar salad, roasted potatoes, Vodka chicken penne pasta, sliced tender beef in a brown gravy, with rolls and butter. Dessert for dinner with a wonderful assortment of puddings, fruit tarts, delicious, brownies, cream puffs, and cannoli. All the food served was cooked to perfection, and absolutely delicious. We even ate in their lunch restaurant and Italian restaurant and found the same wonderful service and fabulous food. Dinner Friday night we were crunched for time and the hostess and the server got us in and out within 45 minutes! The other thing we all noticed was the reasonable pricing. For $12 lunch included a full deli sandwich and soup. Others enjoyed full deli sandwiches with sides of coleslaw or french fries or potato salad. Parking is plentiful and the grounds are clean and safe. Special shout out to Debbie who was our banquet manager and performed her job above and beyond and keeping everyone happy, the buffet fully stocked, the room at a comfortable temperature, and being available for any last-minute adjustments or changes. Much gratitude! Overall, the Fandango Casino was a fabulous place to have our convention. And having said that, we signed up to come back next year because of our wonderful experience this year. 10 Stars for them as far as I'm concerned. read more

Had dinner there, the food is excellent, as for the service not so much. We normally have another waiter but he was full. This one never came to see if we needed anything, forgot husband soup thst comes with meal, ordered Spinach salad brought only 1 hard boiled egg after we stated eating. Had someone else bring our ticket but came back to get ticket and asked if we were going to leave a tip, told and showed him cash on table was his tip. Thanksgiving Buffet...first, I will say that I've never before dined out on Thanksgiving. I tried to reserve space for our party of five at two other smaller venues first; but, they were booked. This option was close to where we were staying, the menu looked sufficient and the price expensive but okay. $36.99 per adult We arrived on time for our 1:30 reservation. We paid at the door and were encouraged to tip in advance (didn't). Then told we could pull up at extra chair to one of the 4x tables along the walls or seat ourselves at a 10x table. We chose a small table, pulled up a fifth chair and went to start of buffet. As this was a ballroom, there was no set buffet line and a series of chafers were lined up down center of the room. Serving spoons, tongs etc were just laying on table next to chafers, no plates or anything, just on the table cloths. The dessert area was underwhelming and a mess. No one was keeping it stocked or clean. The quality of the food was underwhelming. Turkey and ham were roasts instead of carved whole bird or natural ham. I stuck to basics. Turkey, mashed potatoes and grace with cranberry sauce and a roll. Very coffee shop but edible. I skipped dessert after seeing the state of the table. The others at our table said only a pumpkin cheesecake was good. Others at our table ate the shrimp cocktail, scampi and salmon. They agreed it was average. Staff bussed our table during meal. Only one of us went back for seconds of anything. The presentation was not inviting. The food was average at best and I feel confident that the health department would have had concerns about serving utensils and cleanliness of service areas. Staff was friendly and polite. We tipped at the end of meal. Not an experience I would repeat. Nothing to denote thanksgiving or anything festive (except a grinch Christmas tree near our table). Casino Fandango has lots to recommend it. Love the movie theatre and we enjoyed watching Kentucky Derby at sports book, but as for a holiday dinner...save your money and order a pizza. read more

Coming from Vegas, it's always interesting to see other casinos in Nevada and elsewhere. We stopped in Carson City for the night before continuing on our trip. Right next to our hotel was Casino Fandango. I love walking into casinos I've never been in before. It was less than 100ft away from my hotel so I had to go. Walking in you notice mirrors EVERYWHERE. On the ceiling, on the walls, all throughout the casino. Neon lights scattered everywhere. A small casino with a variety of slot machines. A handful of older ones, but no coin slots. There is a Storm bar where the center is filled with water and it looks like the sprinklers are pouring into it with slot machines scattered around the rim. Less than a handful of tables. No craps machine. Never had a cocktail waitress swing by me in the hour I was there to see if I wanted a drink. The place is older. Not sure when/if they've done any renovations to the place, ever. It smells like smoke. It does offer other things than gambling like a movie theatre. Plenty of parking on the property. I will say these machines are tight. The paybacks were not great. The bonuses were low paying. I got two bonuses in an hour playing on two different machines. That's pretty crazy. There are four restaurants on property. None I dined at. Upon signing up for a players card, you need to get 10 points before you can spin the wheel to see how much freeplay you win. I won $5. I'm sure EVERYONE wins $5. I'm sure you will too. I never felt like anyone was winning. No loud noises from people OR machines that big payouts or fun was being had. read more

Since the restaurant choices have gotten worse, with the closing of the buffet, I don't get here often, but I was invited to go to this Octoberfest by a friend that could get us into the VIP tent where you got all the food offerings all you can eat as well as all you can drink wine and beer. This sounded great, but the food left a lot to be desired. I mean I guess what can you do with sausages. Grilling them would have been better than the steamed ones they had. The other food wasn't very appetizing. The braised pork was OK, but dry and well, I was just glad to leave. The desserts of Haagen Daz bars was good though. read more

They took out the fantastic buffet area for the restaurant space, big disappointment since the buffet was pretty darn good for the area. The prime rib I ordered, order rareto get medium rare, was very good. I thought for the money it was quite the bargain. The vegetables it came with was pretty boring, just boiled mixed vegetables. The baked potato was a pretty good size one also. This would not be a bad choice if you had a hankering for prime rib if you were in the vicinity. read more

Unfortunately any interest on our part was extinguished once they deep sixth what once was an excellent buffet and raised the prices at rhe coffee shop to stratospheric levels. Casino Fandango is a favorite local casino in Carson City. It has more to do than gambling. You can also watch a movie. Busy a lot because there's so much going on here. The hotel doesn't look that bad either so it's also a pretty good place to spend a night. Interesting place at least for a local casino. It has kind of a tropical theme with a volcano and sound effects. There's a few bars and restaurants inside. Most people of course come here to gamble. There's plenty of other options if you don't want to do that. For one, you can visit the IMAX theater, which is attached. They play the latest releases so it's not like some cheap dollar theater. Also this place has a hotel next to it. This is a Courtyard By Marriott. Many of the restaurants inside have a tropical theme and serve things like rum cocktail. There's also a Mexican restaurant popular for tacos. Food isn't that expensive. They have basic stuff and nothing that's all fancy. Basically it looks big but it really isn't. It packs a lot inside. Food is good. Slots are too tight. I dropped 1100$ in buffalo stampede on a 5cent denom 10$ bet. My best hit was 120$. So basically that game is as tight as you can make it. Ultimately there is no interest in player satisfaction. I did the same on Phoniex Links. 2$ denom, 20$ pulls. Hit one bonus after 1k, it was 220$. They are not the only ones. My husband and I recently traveled to Carson City from California to spend time with a family member. We almost had a catastrophe involving our hotel reservations!! I made our reservations about a week in advance to our arrival in Carson City with the Marriott Courtyard Hotel next to the Fandango Casino. We initially got a great rate for our room through a Government Discount they offered. The reservations were made through the Marriotts customer service number, not the hotel itself. The afternoon prior to our arrival, we received a detailed email regarding the Government discount which had not previously been shared with us by the TWO customer service representatives I spoke to on the phone. Based on the information in the email, we did not qualify for the discount. This was very upsetting because the "NEW" rate would raise our stay in the hotel by a considerable amount which was a cost we were not prepared to pay. Long story short, between the GM at the hotel, Danita, and Don and Vic Castro at the Fandango Casino, we were able to keep our reservation at the hotel and at the original price quoted and confirmed by the two individuals I originally spoke to and made the reservations with. They all were amazing. Don and Vic made us feel like valued customers and they went out of their way to make things right for us even though it was not their fault or their mistake!! Vic took time out of an already busy day just to listen to us and turn things around to make our stay special and memorable. We felt special because it was obvious that they wanted our business!! While we were in town, we gambled a bit on the slot machines in the Casino and enjoyed complementary drinks from the bar which were excellent. We also enjoyed a meal at the "Governors Grill" which was equally good. We got good service, and good food. The atmosphere was comfortable and relaxing, and the menu had a variety to choose from. Thanks to Vic and Don and everyone at the Casino we came in contact with, our stay in Carson City was very memorable and we will most certainly return!! read more

I love Casino Fandango. It definitely has a homey feel to it. It is weird, but the other players and all of the staff are really friendly. I did play at the blackjack tables and the dealers were personable. They did help out a friend and were very patient who was not really familiar with the game. They have lots and lots of slots. We had more fun here because I won (not a lot, but still...) We had dinner at the Italian resturaunt. It was great! They will serve you a whole baked garlic. We did drinks at the bar in the steak house afterward. Great place. We stayed at the Marriot which is across the parking lot and it make the whole weekend really easy. read more

I just wanted to have a look at this casino and we ventured in because it was about 100 degrees outside. Parking is available because it was on a week day in the middle of the afternoon. Not crowded, lots of slot machines everywhere and the smell of cigarettes permeates the casino as soon as you walk through the doors. Usual casino set up, but we parked ourselves at the Wheel of Fortune slot machines, me at the $1 slot and the wife at the 25C slot so she loses money slower than I do. I finally hit a SPIN on the machine and won $75 and go out before I gave it back. Did not try the restaurants or the bar. read more

If you come to visit Carson City (CCNV) this is a cool spot for the family. Casino Fandango has slot machines, food and a movie theatre on the premise. Casino Fandango is clean and plenty of parking. It is off major highways and easy to get to. The food options inside the casino are good. The prices are reasonable. I recently went there with friend to have dinner. We ordered all different kinds of food. I'd say for the price you pay, it is decent. The service was very good and our server was super nice! Our group ordered chicken wings, fish and chips, sloppy Joe with onion rings, side salad and steak/corn/mashed potatoes. I had the steak, the food was good for the price. I think this is a good spot to hang out in Carson City for the family to enjoy. read more

Went to the cafe or grill whichever it is while they are doing construction. Ordered breakfast, said no onions, it had onions. So I picked them out. In my eggs, the spinach and mushrooms weren't cooked, the hashbrowns were dry, flavorless and overall cold and nasty. We won't be back. read more

(4&1/2 stars) A seriously fun casino! Lively, clean, not overwhelmingly smokey, decent band, friendly employees and slots that keep you playing! There are different environments to play by, the volcano area where every so often the volcano will bubble up and erupt and the storm area where it rains and thunders. There are multiple gaming areas throughout this casino and a huge array of slot machines to play. The mirrored ceiling makes the casino feel vast. This will be my go to Casino when visiting Carson City! Dee that works in the Grill is hardworking, friendly and accommodating. She deserves some kudos and a few stars too. read more

I had a meal at the Governors Grill inside the casino and overall was an ok experience. I was seated right away . The waitress came and got my drink order and returned with it fairly quickly. I placed my order ( patty melt, medium cook on the meat) . It took around ten minutes or so for the order to arrive Which is about average. Upon arrival the waitress asked if I approved of the doneness of the cook on the meat and it looked great and tasted good with the accompanying shoestring fries. The waitress offered me a choice of condiment other than what was at the table much appreciated for that. Although the waitress did come and check up on my satisfaction somewhat regular she was tasked with other tables on the other side of the restaurant as well so it wasn't as often as I would have liked. As for the presentation of the dish it was very plain just the patty melt and fries no adornments at all. The price of the meal was favorable compared to many other places in town.
