Bathroom but lightening needs to be better only one light that is not bright

Staff are so nice, rooms are clean but bathroom needs better lighting and casino is not Smokey. Katie's restaurant is slow with staff but understand these days finding help. Food is ok.

I was so pleasantly surprised with the Carson Valley Inn! I was in the area for a wedding and we chose this for convenience over anything else, but it honestly exceeded our expectations. As is any casino, it was very smokey everywhere, however, it was completely clean and clear in our non-smoking room. Our room was basic from a design aspect, but it was very clean. The AC worked wonderfully, the bed was surprisingly SUPER comfortable, and the shower had the most amazing shower pressure! The casino was very fun, and the drinks were SO cheap. It was lovely! The staff was (mostly) wonderful. They dont handle themselves under stress of a big check in (not for myself personally but noticed it when waiting to check in - but for all I know, the guest could have been the problem). But they had a convenient little "store" next to the front desk for drinks and snacks, check in and out was easy and quick, and they were very accommodating of our very late check in when we called ahead to let them know. I would definitely stay here again if I ever find myself in the area!

This is a great, clean, location to stay at if you're driving through to Nevada on the loneliest road. Stayed here overnight. Despite being a casino downstairs, did not smell smoke nor heard any noises. Comfortable bed but flat pillows. Some wear on furnitures but overall, clean. Provided k cup coffee and tea. The best part was the shower!! It was one of the best showers in terms of pressure with quiet, thick, sliding door that doesn't slam! Loved it! Overall, 3.5 stars.

Motor lodge room
Steven E.

We've stayed at the motor lodge, The rv park and the hotel. All accomplish their mission with flying colours. Even Katie's and the other eateries are outstanding. Each should have their own page on Yelp. The rooms are always clean. The motor lodge is like most low cost places, the pillows suck and the in-room coffee service is for those that are desperate. Shower pressure was decent. Everything was acceptable from the television to the toiletry/towel set-up. I prefer the motor lodge because I can park right outside my door and I avoid a lot of the hustle and bustle of the hotel/casino. The desk staff are constantly showing us new discounts based on organizations we align with or job related events. We rarely see housekeeping, but the ones we know are super helpful. 05/24

So I recently stayed at this location. And the 1st day i stayed there i had a bad experience with a employee that was working the Gas station store. This Hotel is located in Minden Nevada and I've you ever stayed there you know this hotels owns its own gas station and gas station store. So i had just gotten back to my hotel and my wife send me to the store to get some drinks for us and the friends we had gone with. So as soon as i walked into the store i seen the way the employee looked at me and i already knew she was going to give me some type of attitude. So i walked in and grabbed some drinks and mind you im 30 years old, so she asked for my ID so I provided her with my ID and my ID expired on my birthday just a few weeks ago so she scanned it and said it was expired so I explained to her how i had already renewed it but haven't received it in the mail yet because the DMV takes long or what not. So i called my wife over and she showed her, her ID and she just flat out declined to sell us anything she was acting like my wife was buying drinks to an underage kid or something. So we got upset and called the front desk and they send out a guy and he started talking to her and then to us and we explained the situation so he made a phone call and told her straight up that i was 30 and that my wifes ID is valid so she is able to sell us the drinks and she still flat out denied she started saying that she can decline service to whoever she likes by law and then she started lying and making things up saying that we screamed at her and we even got more upset because that was a lie and i even told the guy like dude there's cameras and that will show u how shes lying. At the end he said he couldn't do much since its her right to deny service to whoever she wants even tho there was no reason and then he proceeded to tell me that i should make a complaint against them for racism. He even knew it was racism. So i did and I gave the front desk the papers when i checked out. So if your Latino or better yet non White please be advised and careful because I keeped getting nasty looks all through that hotel and even when i took my wife and kids to the pool. I can tell they weren't happy i was there but its just sad how theres alot of racism till this day.

CVI gym & pool area

Love going to the Carson Valley Inn! I try to spend a lot of time in Minden and the people here are awesome. They have a beautiful indoor pool and two hot tubs along with a decent little workout room. The CVI steakhouse is awesome - be sure to ask for Hunter or Cisco as your server. The slots are great and they have a separate poker room. Job's Perk is a little coffee shop that has a bagel and cream cheese for less than $1.50! They also have a travel item section that is better than the hotels where they sell water, soup and sandwiches, etc. There's a great walking trail behind the hotel/casino. For a quick meal you can go to Katie's Country Kitchen for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Be sure to check out CVI's sports bar (also checkout the bar menu-awesome burger) and they have a place to make sports bets. ENJOY!

Awesome place. The service is excellent and the folks are friendly. Everyone is helpful. Place is clean and parking is plentiful. Our room was perfect. Great bed and shower. We were on the second floor and opened the windows which made for a very comfortable sleep. Easy to walk down to the casino. Sat in the sports book area and watched football games. The female server was on her job! The two restaurants are good. The coffee bar opens until 10 PM and you can get treats there too! We will definitely be going back.

Any port in a storm... This port is actually a couple rotting boards in the water and some pieces…read moreof broken plywood. Stay here ONLY if you have NO other options. ALL of the stairwells are boarded up and red marker tagged due to crumbling balconies. That's NOT my opinion, it's a safety violation cited by the county. The closed pool is a botanical experiment. At the front desk: NO Wi-Fi. NO Coffee. NO Breakfast. Walking over to the utility room, you will discover that the ice maker, washer and dryer have been disconnected for several years. There's no vending machine. Around the complex, you'll see miscellaneous furniture, boxes, and hotel supplies stacked in various places. It looks like sloppy staging for an upcoming liquidation auction. I get the impression that deferred maintenance is the standard. What do you get out of staying here? A bed. A shower with good water pressure. A working refrigerator and a microwave. A noisy AC/space heater that makes a high pitch whine from a bearing as it cycles up and down while heating and cooling the room. There was an ice bucket set neatly with cups, but, it's a meaningless detail with the lack of an ice maker. That's it. It is useful to know that there is a Dollar Tree conveniently nearby in the Ironwood shopping center adjacent to the hotel. With the lack of amenities at the "Quality" Inn, you might need to make a visit during your stop over. My husband and I had dinner at the chinese restaurant next door (Louie's Mandarin Gourmet-I recommend-Really good!). We had a conversation with the server. She mentioned that the hotel was closed by the health department for 6 weeks, then reopened in late March. She didn't know why. We agreed that maybe the place should be condemned due to the balconies. After the meal, I asked for some ice to take back to the room, and she was able to help me out. We were grateful. Other things to know about this place: When I checked in, I was advised that there was NO housekeeping because the maids quit. I see. Maybe I'll buy that story. Maybe I won't. IF I wanted to extend my stay, it was advised to let them know EARLY in the morning. The front desk is only open for 3 pm check in and same staff (two people) cleans rooms in the morning. I got the impression, that the management really hoped you would believe their excuse that there's temporary maintenance issues even though everything looks like it has been this way for several years. When we left, I noticed that a building inspection report was taped to the front desk door. Thankfully, I only needed the place for one night. I've stayed at better Choice Hotel properties. This location reflects poorly on the brand. I wouldn't be surprised if the next time I go through Minden, this place might be shuttered.

Old, run down, unkept grounds, empty pool, many upstairs rooms are boarded up and barricaded closed with plywood. Parking lot is cracked and needs potholes fixed. Poor exterior repairs. I remember when this was a respectable new place many years ago, hence I booked for me and my dogs. Okay customer service. $25 per dog fee, no problem. Good: clean sheets and towels....allows dogs. Bad: Black mold in bathroom next to toilet, faucet spout for shower tub pulls away from wall, bed has an aluminum sidi g to cover the space underneath the bed and it rattles every time you move. Dark and poorly lit. Base boards appear to be cloth and are mismatched, uneven. Walls have been patched and painted over, obviously damaged. Bar for hand towels is crooked, off set about two inches higher on one side. Curtains are so old they have pin holes in them. Blackout curtain is in disrepair. Bath/shower soap and conditioner empty, lotion bottle on bathroom sink half full or half used. The basic interior floor was clean but around the walls, under the dinette table, corners etc had dirt, hair and debris. I know this place had a fair/just okay rating on Booking.com but I should have checked Yelp. Disgusting, disappointing to say the least.

The rooms: gorgeous: they have historic artifacts all over the place and there's a gold rush era vibe here. Indeed their pet friendly and there's a park close by where you can walk your little furry fuzzbutt. I love a child where you can actually park right in front of your room and you don't have to ride elevators or go up numerous lights and stairs carrying everything because I feel like sometimes you get worn out playing all day and then you get to your hotel and it's even more struggle so having the car 10 feet from the door is one of my favorite things about hotels like this. The view is pretty killer: you can see Jobs Peak from Eddy St and that is one of the most picturesque sites you can have in this town. It is snow covered even in the early summer and reminds you that Tahoe and Kirkwood are just around half an hour drive away. When the hotels in Tahoe are full, this is a good back up location to come stay. Try to make it out to Topaz Lake if you can. I found the staff here to be friendly and I had to interact with them several times because the key card will immediately get degaussed if it comes anywhere near your phone. I'm guessing it's the MagSafe feature of the iPhone that is erasing the hotel card but I can tell you I've erased three and I've only been here 15 hours! So that's why I don't give it. Five stars is that they really need to come up with the way that you can carry both your hotel room key and your iPhone in the same pocket I think. For now, put your iPhone in one pocket and put your room key cards in the other and keep them separated "you gotta keep em separated"

And from the Deck, the expansive view of the Carson Valley is stunning and soothing. Every time I come up, there's the latest talk about folks trying to make Genoa a "Destination". The area certainly seems to do nice Wedding business, and I particularly enjoy hanging out at the Genoa Bar. There are also a few nice places to eat such as La Ferme. Past that, it's my sense that this particular marketing plan isn't working as well as it should. David Walley's Resort recently went through a management change during an interesting "quiet" period and the relatively recent "Genoa Square" development is only left with the Dancing Deer and a reopened Genoa Country Inn. The Genoa Coffee & Candy Company was the latest closure, with the rumour that the landlord forced them out due to complaints of coffee odors (?) wafting through the hotel rooms. Oy. The Genoa Country Inn has 11 rooms and is a nice place with wi-fi and the usual other amenities (including view). It's an easy walk to anywhere within the Genoa Town Site, and if you just want peace and quiet, this place may be a good choice for you. However, if you want a little "excitement", South Lake Tahoe is a winding drive over the Kingsbury Grade, and greater Carson City or the "Twin Cities" of Minden and Gardnerville are all easy rides.
