The fried chicken dinner is the best in town! 4 stars because their draft beer tastes funny.

It is located in the casino in the back corner. They were not busy when we were there, and we were seated quickly when we walked in. The server was friendly and helpful and sat us in a booth. The menu had a wide variety of options including breakfast, lunch and dinner offerings that were served all day. My husband ordered breakfast including chicken fried steak and eggs while I chose the Six Mile burger that was mushroom and swiss with French fries. My burger was very good and hit the spot. The patty was cooked as I ordered it and the mushrooms were tasty with the swiss cheese. The fries were battered and seasoned and tasted good as well. My husband like his steak and eggs also. We would return again to play and eat when we are visiting the area.

The restaurant was small and well maintained. There was not a lot of people when we came but eventually people started showing up. Overall, it was not want for the food, rating will be one star so I will not come back here again.

We visited the beautiful Catholic Church and visited with Tim who has worked at the church for about 15 years. He was very nice and has a lot of fun info on the church and town. VC is an old silver mining town and it still looks like it did way back then. Wood boardwalks through town with lots of gift shops . We visited in the off season but starting in May there are all sorts of things to go. Train rides, old time gun shows. It's definitely a tourist town but a fun one. The drive up was very pretty. Ended up at Mark Twain Saloon and it was a great stop. Great looking old bar. Bartender was fun. Had sone whisky and a beer. Visited with a couple locals and had a great time.

In the last year the took over the space next door to the south. This space has a small kitchen for snacks and some gaming machines, making the original area less crowded. The old school bar and decor is a step back to days when miners would come in for a whiskey after hours of searching for silver. On non event days it's nice to enjoy the great staff. During events the Twain can be quite popular and busy.

We went to the restaurant inside the Gold Dust Casino in Carson City. There was a little wait to get the host to seat us. They were doing double duty as the cashier as well. The smoke in the restaurant is less than it is in the casino, as far as smaller casinos go, the smoke wasn't super bad. We got seated and drink orders taken. I see they have a prime rib special available 7 days a week for $16.99, not just on Friday's and Sat. like some other casino restaurants, plus, you don't have to wait till 4pm either, available at 11am seven days a week! I went with that, medium rare please. Someone else ordered the breakfast, "Little Star", basically a standard 2 egg with hashbrowns and toast and sausage for $7.99. One of the crew ordered the "Wrangler" burger, a double bacon cheeseburger with onion rings in the burger, served with fries. For appetizers, we got the onion rings and the loaded potato skins. The food all arrives and everything looks scrumptious. My Prime Rib was a decent size cooked as ordered, served with a baked potato. The appetizers were good, I actually like the loaded skins with the melty cheese and bacon. The onion rings were a smallish portion, but I guess it was just $4.99 so there's that. The Wrangler burger was quite a sight! He said the meat was real good and seemed like bigger than the two 1/4 pound patties on the menu. I'd come back here again, this is a new revamped menu from years ago.

The managers are rude and snobby to the guests for example, if you ask for anything at all like a late checkout, towels or fresh sheets, you can just forget it. The staff and lady manager will either ignore you or scold you as if you're her bad employee, even though you're a paying guest! If you ask to change rooms due to noisy kids above stomping and running around, or dirty unchanged air filters in the a/c units, or pet hairs on the carpet, ants crawling around in the bathroom etc...Good luck with that because they will just ask you to leave rather than housekeeping doing their job. It is more of a "go get it yourself" type of place. Beware of bed bugs, poor customer service in general, you can forget about amenities because they don't have any at all except for a box of tissue and a tiny hair dryer. Top dollar room rates for a basic room that resembles Motel 6 at best. But mostly we will never forget how awful we were treated by a few rude female clerks & the female hotel manager who acts like she owns the Gold Dust West. Be prepared for a clogged rear entrance point hallway with several giant containers of dirty linens, towels. Do not expect any type of extra service because they're grossly understaffed. Most of the time when calling by phone, they don't answer the phone or they leave you on eternal hold If you complain in anyway, just expect the manager to knock on your hotel door and bother you with some nonsense excuse about why it's not their fault. This is not the "house full of friends" more like a bad nightmare stay at the Bates Motel, except Norman Bates is actually the glaringly rude female clerk at the front desk.

I first tried to book online through their reservation service, but the sites that were listed as open were not really open and my reservation didn't go through. I called and spoke to a friendly lady who helped me book my stay. I wanted to stay longer but they did not have a site large enough for our motorhome available for the additional days, so I took the three nights they had. Upon arrival, the park seemed tight for our motorhome, but we were able to maneuver without issue. The staff lead us to our site and helped us park in our site. The site was on the end of a row next to the dumpster enclosure. We thought there may be noise from the dumpster but there really wasn't. The site had full hook ups and the 50 amp service that we needed. It was warm during our stay and we had not issues running our air conditioners. The sites are "buddy" sites so there was a small turf grass area between us and our two neighbors to share. We also could use the turf grass area on our driver's side adjacent to the dumpster enclosure. On our last day, we received a call from the office that they had an emergency road repair happening within the park on the day we were scheduled to leave. The park offered to refund our last day due to the inconvenience of us having to pack up and leave before 9 am. This was acceptable to us and we were able to move out of the park in plenty of time. The staff was always friendly and helpful and they waved at us each time we came and went from the park. I'd definitely recommend this park and stay again when in the area.

Virginia city is one of those unique places that you can't really comprehend until you visit- it's so charming and old world and makes me feel nostalgic for a time I never lived in. The silver queen has been quiet and empty every time I've been there (always early afternoon on visits from nearby Genoa. The bartenders are always friendly and lovely. I love the smell of history in this town and the silver queen is so full of that. There are antique oddities and treasures everywhere you turn. The silver queen herself stands watch over the bar/lounge area. Drinks are stiff but pricy which is to be expected in a destination town like this. I love stopping in here for a cocktail and bathroom break while I'm exploring Virginia City because I always find new things to look at every time I come. Bathrooms are micro mini but they're clean. Supposedly, it's haunted too!
