Very nice and helpful staff, we needed to come last minute as the state park was full, they stayed open past closing to help us check in and get into our site. Downside is the spots are suuuuper close together and the dog park is very small, but still very nice they even have a dog area. Laundry and on site restrooms were very clean and nice. Very close to Lake Tahoe for a day trip, and Virginia City which is nice!

We stayed here because we were so sick of the VCRV park.....This is a very clean park. Nice showers. Nice little laundry room. The managers were very friendly and had a wealth of knowledge about the local history. The casino across the street was a little smokey with un exciting games. There is a little fenced in sandy dog run. With tools to clean up after your pet. There is a little store (family dollar) with everything you could need right outside the park. The kids loved walking over there to buy sweets. My 11 year old says there is a lady there named Diana who was very nice. My favorite thing about the park is you can ride your dirtbike right there. We pushed them out of the park and we rode on dirt to 6 mile canyon through Virginia city and back down the Dayton toll road. It was a really fun loop. About 20 miles. Quiet park. Nice people. Very clean. Pet friendly. Enjoyed visiting with the long term campers.

They even rake the dirt areas so it looks fresh!!

Great little campground. Spaces were a little tight but the customer service was wonderful and the park/bathrooms were very clean.

This is a great location for a campground. Campsites allow RV hookups and for tent camping. Each…read morecampsite is a bit small for my taste, but my parents booked a set of 3 next to each other for 6 of us and it was plenty of room for all of us plus 3 dogs. It kept everyone cozy, but still gave everyone enough space to be sane. There is a river running through behind the campsite so you hear the water and wildlife living near the water. It's right off the 88 and a 20 minute drive to the nearest town to buy groceries. There is no cell service, but that may be exactly what you're looking for. We went when it was raining, but we like the secluded feel and how it's smack dab in the middle of trees and next to water. It's 20-40 minutes drive away from the nearest lakes. Blue Lake, Caples Lake, etc. When we went to Blue Lake, it was pretty dried up and had wild fish. We only saw Caples Lake on our way back and wished we had done a day trip there. If you're driving at night like we did, be sure to keep going on the 88 and there will be a dimly lit sign on the right. It's past Sorensen Resort. Overall, this campsite is a nice gem, I'd like to keep to myself. It's not like those popular campsites in Big Sur with a lot of activity going on...which I like.

What a disappointing experience! I miss the old Sorensens. We were the only people in restaurant…read moreand we were neglected. We just wanted appetizers and cocktails. The trout dip was mediocre. I ordered a basic tequila soda and we were charged two dollars extra for their basic tequila on the menu and never before have I been charged for soda water 2.00 extra plus two limes. The resort at Caples Lake was full so we thought we would go to our old haunt. what a disappoint.

You can rent a propane fire pit which we did for $25 for the stay and that includes a tank of propane. Each site has water electric snd sewer. i want you to know this is not an asphalt parking lot. There is grass and a picnic table for each site. There are rules that there will be no carport or artificial grass on the lawn. which is understandable. There are clean restrooms with showers and a laundry room. Play Area Equipment with ping pong and fooseball This RV Park is very quite. No loud music Quiet Hours start at 9pm. No Generators Running Dogs are on leashes and there are potty bags available. During our stay guests were very considerate of not walking thru your camp. There is the noise of HWY 80 but it did not bother us. The river is close by and there is fishing. The store and deli are very well stocked. You can even buy a fishing license. They even have gasoline for 3.99 a gallon. Hope everyone enjoys the review. Thank you for a wonderful stay. we will be back. .

I got the super pastrami which included grilled salami on marbled rye. Yum! Huge phone in to-go business as well. Lovely tree shaded patio to sit and eat as well. Just off the freeway, easy to find.
