Can't say enough great things about this little hidden gem. My hubby and I usually book our campsites as we go based on our eta, weather, pit stops, etc. As hubby drove yesterday, I looked on Yelp and found a little site just outside of Reno along the river that looked promising. I tried to book online but it wouldn't let me so I called the number and spoke to a very pleasant woman who took my reservation over the phone and even offered me a first responder discount! Upon arrival, they were set up for after hours check in and very organized and timely. Chris, the security officer guided us right to our site and was very pleasant. Our site was a premium river side set up that did not disappoint! We backed up to the river with lush trees and greenery all around. There's a beautiful patio with chairs, tables and Edison string lights overlooking the river where we would sip our drinks after a long day of traveling and watch the geese and ducks in the river. There's also a couple of benches and fire pits established for campers to use. There are long term residents throughout the park, and some sites are pretty close together so we were very lucky to have gotten a premium, roomy luxurious site at last minute. We definitely recommend paying the little extra for a river front site. Site 11 & 12 are the best! PS: the staff is very responsive to texts and questions and they were a delight! read more

Stayed a few nights here. Checking was super easy. Called when 20 minutes out as we were checking in after 5. Nice gentleman answered and met up with us at front office. He guided us to our spot and helped back me in. While the spot was ok, it provided all the items we needed with full hookups. My spot was on crushed granite and was just barely big enough for my 32 ft class A. Had a slight rear slope so I needed to use some blocks to level up. No biggie for me. Was quiet. Only issue was the screaming lady one morning at 4am yelling "give me back my keys" along with some other choice words. I'd definitely like to come back and check out the river spaces. read more

Extremely friendly and helpful staff! Every time we ran into staff, they greeted us with a friendly wave and smile! They go around in carts to make sure everything is running smoothly. We had an issue with bees and they came within 5 minutes to help resolve the issue. Everything is clean and there are cute areas to sit and relax in. Packages were able to be delivered and some areas had private gates. There weren't any issues with any homeless people by the river (we never even seen any homeless people at the river like other comments we read). It's located near grocery stores, gas stations, and fast food places. We're definitely coming back again. read more

This is a great place! We only stayed one night but from what I experienced, it was very nice. Staff is super helpful and friendly. They are well-organized. My car tag with my spot number was ready for me, and they made sure to show me the phone number of the night manager. The email I received the day before my reservation spelled out what to do to check-in depending on arrival time. The grounds are well-maintained, and there's an area on the property near the Truckee River to have a fire as well as tables and chairs for use. The bathrooms are clean, and the shower stalls are fairly spacious. Close to the downtown and River Walk District. read more

Beautiful grass areas and the river had multiple areas to relax and meet wonderful people. Manager was so nice and kind and asked how things were going and if we needed anything. Our cats loved it. Wow. What a find. Right in the heart of Reno yet very peaceful and filled with nature and trees. Full hook ups. Beware that this is an old park so you'll need lengthy sewer hoses and water hoses. Very easy to find. It's less than a mile from 80. Helpful and kind front office. We love this place already and we've not even been here 24 hours. Highly recommend! read more

What a lovely, clean, safe place to stay! We spent one night here in a spot backed up to the river. What a beautiful view! Checking in was easy, we were walked right to our spot by such a nice and friendly man who was a co-owner of the resort. I took a morning walk all around the park early this morning. It was quiet, very clean, and felt very safe. The park was full, some travelers some residents, but everyone had beautiful clean spaces, no clutter around anywhere. There are plenty of trash and around but there was no sign of bugs or critters or what you can find at campgrounds. We used the bathrooms, including the showers. They were also clean and did not disappoint with supplies: full length mirrors, combination lock on the main entry door and all the stalls and shower, and plenty of soap and towels at the sink. The shower stream was strong and there was plenty of hot water, a camper treat! We will definitely suggest this place to friends and come back if we come this way again. read more

This is an update to my original review since Lance the business manager had to get involved and completely deflect and blatantly lie instead of accepting responsibility that they deceive people and con you into staying there with deceptive pictures and layouts online. Lance stated that I was already there staying and asked for a refund that was not the case I had just arrived and was parked on the street. I hope the couple nights money you received from me was worth all the negative attention you get from my reviews. I stand by everything I said I recommend no one stay at this place there's way better places to stay. read more

My wife and I were coming up through Reno and needed a place to stay on a late Sunday evening. We parked in front after hours and Dale immediately came to our rescue. The dude is amazing! Helped us out in a pinch, got us all set up, and even sat on the grass with us to provide some local restaurants and things to do! Loved our stay at River West. We stayed in a river-facing RV spot and had a great time. The staff was super friendly and helpful, especially Dale the night manager who helped us with check-in and parking, and gave great recommendations of the stuff to check out in Reno. We stayed for 4 nights and I totally would return again. The resort is centrally located about a mile from downtown Reno with the main casinos and about an hour-ish from lake Tahoe. Not many amenities offered, but the bathrooms and showers were clean and had hot water. That was all we needed. read more

What a hidden gem! In the hustle and bustle of the city is a hidden treasure. This park is right on the river, well maintained, has level sites, and a warm and welcoming staff. We decided to stay at River West Resort for Hot August Nights! We wanted to bring our RV and enclosed trailer this time. We picked the best place to stay. The night manager, Dale is absolutely the best! All the staff is very friendly. The resort also has beautiful cottages for family and friends to rent too! It's very quiet and sits along the Truckee River. It is also located short distances to most of the Hot August Nights show and shines. We had a crew of 4 couples and we all enjoyed it so much we are planning the same trip next year! read more

Dale, the night manager, was very nice and welcoming and even called us while we were on the road--"just to make sure" we "were okay"! And to see if we needed directions to the property. I thought that was so cute! Property is nice and quiet, shaded with trees, and has a lovely sitting area right next to the flowing Truckee river. It was beautiful. The roads/paths throughout the property are sandy/gravelly and so we tracked some mess into our vehicle but wasn't a big deal. The bathrooms are well ventilated, clean, and the showers were TILED (which I was so grateful for) and super clean with HOT water for cold mornings and COLD water for hot days. The lot was not perfectly level but it didn't bother us. We liked the table and chairs set up on our lot's lawn under the tree. They also have tiny homes you can book that looked so cute! We paid just over $70 for one night. We will stay again. read more

It was my first time to Reno and River West was a great place to stay. The cottages are so cute, nicely appointed with tall, angled ceilings, making them feel spacious. The living area has a fridge, sink and microwave, a large TV, sofa, chair and hi-top table with two stools. Broke up a long drive with an overnight stay in a full-service pull-through site. Full-service is right! We were lucky that a phone call just 24 hrs prior landed us a site - such a helpful woman on the phone, and Dale the night manager escorted us to our site when we arrived. River West is just a few blocks from the interstate, but it's smallish, quiet, and full of friendly guests. Many food and grocery options within walking distance, so we didn't even have to uncouple our trailer. Recommended! read more

Right in town so easy to get to the Balloon Festival. Great hook ups and quiet park. A bit of road noise and some trains nearby. A great addition would be a dog exercise park but they do have a good size area to walk dogs down by the river. I was here to help crew a balloon and it was great all around. read more

My husband and I arrived at River West Resort on 8/30/24. There was no one to greet us at the park. I have to get out and go into the office. I met the office person and she checked us in and drew us the map on where our spot was. It was spot # 8. My husband backed into the spot where he straddled the concrete pad. The pad was not big enough for the trailer tires to be on. The septic connection was uphill, which is unusual as it should be downhill. The water pressure was low as well. This certain spot was not shaded although there are matured trees in the park. This spot backed the Truckee River which was nice for the dog. read more

We stayed at River West overnight as we traveled through the Reno area. The property is a mix of long and short term RV sites; it's clean, well maintained and our site along the Truckee River was quite lovely. Customer service was most excellent all along the way: we had an unexpected delay in arriving but the office folks were helpful to get our reservation changed. Upon arrival we were met by Dale, the night manager who greeted us, showed us to our site and gave a few quick instructions to set up. A wonderful place to stop - highly recommend! read more

We have stayed in Reno several times with our trailer. This was the second time that we stayed at River West for the Memorial Day AAU basketball tournament. You can see my Google review below but the fact that they remembered us from last year was so neat. Dale made sure we had all that we needed and even helped us at the end of our stay by letting us pick up the trailer after our last game on Monday. 5 stars isn't even enough to communicate that if you are traveling with your trailer or rv, you are missing out if you do not stay at River West. I can't say strongly enough how impressed we were with their property. It was a beautiful, quiet area with nice sites and great amenities. The bathroom were clean. They had large laundry facilities. They are located in a wonderful area with a grocery store, mini marts, food establishments, trails, and an incredible park within walking distance. Finally, the staff was very kind, friendly, and helpful before, during, and after our stay. Great park! Very clean. I was concerned the river may attract people experiencing homelessness, but it was not an issue. (Not asking for any judgements here, this is MY opinion). Reservation was easy to make. Prompt return call and friendly manager on duty. We liked the small downtown location near the Truckee River. Nice public sitting area over looking the river available to relax and enjoy. Restrooms were clean and adequate. No amenities at the campsite. Outdoor table w/ benches would have been nice but we only stayed two nights so we were fine. Would definitely stay here again. Easy pull through location. Most spaces looked like permanent residents with about 15 open slots for those in transit. read more

We just completed a month's long stay at River West while in Reno welcoming our newest grandchild! It was just what we needed and more! When we arrived they had just completed a beautiful patio overlooking the river with string lights. They are currently working on developing the common area above the river with fire pits and seating areas which will be wonderful for the Spring/Summer season. The staff are friendly and attentive. When we had a problem with our sewer connection it was handled immediately. Everything is kept clean and beautifu! The bath house is very nice...updated and inviting as is the laundry room. The river access area was great for taking our dog out, and there is even overhead lighting to make it nice at night for walking and seeing the river. The park is centrally located in Reno. A short walk or bike ride through the neighborhood takes you to the river walk to get downtown and beyond. Across the river is a beautiful park and trail for walking or biking along the river. We had an excellent stay at River West for 6 nights December 26-January 1 to visit family in the area. We had spot 9 overlooking the Truckee River. The spot was perfect for the opposing slides on our TT. There are full timers here. Everything is very clean! Dale was waiting for us to arrive and had our welcome packet ready. He even offered to help guide us backing in. The WiFi worked well, enclosed trash and individual recycling cans. We would recommend this resort to stay at. read more
