Who isn't looking for the best pizza slice? I've heard everything about Little Coyote but nothing about this place, which was shocking to me when I saw the reviews and how big the slices are. In addition, the customer service was outstanding! The place caught my attention randomly and I had to try it for lunch. I'd like the record to show I got three slices to make sure I was able to give a full review. It was not an ideal parking situation as it was street parking. In the back of the pizza joint, there is a parking lot, but I'm not sure if it belongs to the pizza joint. As the area wasn't too crowded, I was able to find a free parking spot on the street. The best part of walking into this place is the smell of pizza in the air. As soon as I arrived, I was greeted and moved on to order. Unfortunately, this was not the best pizza experience I've had in Long Beach. I started by ordering the Little Gem Caesar which was delicious. I never thought to add an egg to a Caesar salad but I've made it stable for when I have this salad at home or at other restaurants. The salad came with soft cooked egg, kewpie caesar dressing, crouton, shaved Parmesan cheese, and black pepper this salad needed nothing added to it. Taking it back to the classics, I started off with a margarita with crushed tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, Parmesan, fresh basil, olive oil, and maldon salt. Although this pizza had great flavor, the dough was undercooked to the point where I couldn't enjoy it, and was extremely greasy. My eating experience did indicate that the ingredients were fresh. My only complaint is that the slice was undercooked. My next attempt was Pepperoni. It had chopped pepperoni, crushed tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and grated grana padano, but it still seemed like it had not been baked. It tasted like a mix of dough with toppings that I had to pick off the top and once again it was obvious they use quality ingredients. The LBC had crushed tomato, mozzarella, pepperoni, fennel, ricotta, Sicilian oregano, and parmesan cheese. It was undercooked as the other two, so I began to wonder if maybe it was the style of pizza and it was not undercooked at all. I'll post the photos and you can decide. Had I not run into the problems with the undercooked dough, this place would have been my go-to for easy pizza slices. However, I still think it's worth trying, maybe I just got them on the wrong day! read more

Good pizza, but service could be better. I once ordered a pizza that they forgot to make, then lied about it, and then finally made and gave it to me for free (glad for that at least). Had to wait an extra 30 minutes that time. Most recently they underestimated the wait time and I had to wait 10 more mins (not that big of a deal) while I had guests waiting at my house for dinner in the meantime. read more

I've heard lots of great things about Speak Cheezy, and it's actually my manager's favorite pizza spot, so I had to try it. I should have made a to-go order, but my partner and I ended up going there on an impromptu trip, so we had to wait a while for our pizza. Not a big deal, but I will definitely order first before going into the shop next time. The pizza is good and has great flavor and crust to it. I got the truffle shuffle since I love mushroom truffle pizzas. This one is a solid pizza, but not really a pizza I will rave about to my friends and family. Good but not amazing. read more

The pizza and soft serve here was AMAZING!! Definitely come for the pizza. It was fresh and delicious. The soft serve was on the house due to issues with our order(thank you!) and it was delicious. Great on a hot day. Unfortunately, our group did not like the chicken wings. We picked the black garlic Parmesan and it just tasted like curry. Not what I had in mind for the flavor we chose. But, that was just our opinion. The service was incredible. I appreciate the people working cause they made it a great experience and you could tell they cared about serving the customers. first time i went was great service and large portions. overall 10/10 experience. no notes. second time was carry-out and 3 great pizzas. again 10/10. i just went in for lunch to-go today. horrible service. the cashier was on his phone when we go there- i had asked him about the flavors and he finished his text before even looking up to acknowledge us. none of the pizzas on display had a name to know what it was, the workers kept getting in each others way, and my slice was burnt. i wasn't even asked (which i had been previously) if i wanted the pizza heated up (which i didn't). my pizza was burnt and not at all the size i was use to receiving from here. it was literally half the size of a normal slice AND it had half of it missing due to an air pocket when cooking. i am posting 2 photos- one is from my first visit, we had 2 slices of pizza, and the other is from today. by the time i thought of taking the photo, i had ripped of the giant burnt circle on top of the hole in the middle. i think the flavor of the food is fantastic and i will likely go back one more time, but today was a really lacking experience. read more

Love this place so much, I would say it is my son's fave local spot. We go for plain cheese on the gluten free crust most of the time but even for a pizza that sounds basic it's truly elevated. Everything is always on point- cheese, sauce, crust without fail. We have tried some of their specialty pizzas as well and they are cooked to perfection with fun combos. Servers are super friendly and make you feel welcome. I love how simple this place is, just classic good food. Very small and cute place in the corner. Their parking lot is a bit small but luckily there is a neighborhood nearby for street parking. We ordered the vodka pizza and it was sooo hot and fresh out from the oven. All the ingredients tasted fresh and the sauce was so distinct and flavorful. I recommend getting the sauces they sell. We ended up getting the fermented honey chili oil and omg it made the taste so much better. The service was also friendly the lady that helped us gave us her honest opinions about the pizzas and we were very satisfied with our order. My fiancée ordered pizza last night for the first time since living in Long Beach, and this place was sure to disappoint. For the high prices we expected better. The pizza was cold (not kidding) upon it being delivered to our home, and the Cheesy bread was burned on the bottom. When you spend $50+ on 2 items, you expect it to be piping hot / cooked correctly. We are excited to try out their other white and pink pies - one thing I've found is that many pizza places don't have too many white/pink options. However, we made the mistake of ordering once we arrived. The shop itself is tiny with very little seating, and the atmosphere and surrounding area are not very inviting or pleasant. On top of that, there's no restroom available to the public, and our order of one pizza took twice as long as what we were told. i had a weird customer service experience months ago and had emailed them - they did apologize but blamed a lot on the employee. i also got another email update saying they hired a new staff for the cashier. i did not need to know lol the staff continues to be ill-informed or just couldn't hear me well? i asked if the soft serve was in a cone, and they had answered - yes - and when i got it - it was in a cheap plastic cup. when i asked about it, the cashier said - oh i wish.... the part that i'm befuddled by the most is the price of their soft serve sans cone. i get that it is straus creamery soft serve but the price of it is absolutely astronomical. i paid 9.36 or something before tip. with tip it was 10.86. i had this soft serve at other places and it's much reasonably priced. i think skechers food spot sells it for $ 4 WITH A CONE. theirs is also straus brand. the dipped cone at win-dow burger is 5.50 and comes in a cone. granted theirs is probably more processed.. but with soft serve, the machine does the churning and you get the soft serve in liquid form in a jug from the supplier. so why am i being charged this? not to mention the listed price says 5.50? 6.50 on your menu. i def asked the staff and he just brushed it off as - yea it's pricey but the prices must have gone up. i can get a whole pint of ice cream from mcconnell's for 9.99. milk shake that is spun upon ordering is 10 something at van leeuwan. price just does not match up. i'm honestly annoyed that i paid that much for soft serve. update: heavy handed - a smash burger joint up in la, also sells straus creamery soft serve. with cone. their's is 5.50. this is definitely not competitive pricing but price gauge. read more

Speak Cheezy never cease to amaze me! It's been a while..we were watching a lot of pizza reviews on YouTube and said we need a good slice of zaaa! Well we had a delicious, crispy and flavorful pie here. Hopefully their New Haven style becomes a permanent pie on the menu. Flavor punch and crisp factor are given a 9.3 and the Cesar salad was really fun! They made these cute croutons with toasted cheese and the dressing was yummy! I've seen a lot of reviews online and social media saying this is the best pizza in Long Beach so finally decided to bite the bullet and give it a try. Kind of pricey for pizza (the main reason why I haven't gone), I ordered a Margherita pizza which was mostly just sauce and dough. The dough is also very thick and not a pleasant chewy. As another review said.. with cheezy in the name, I would have preferred a little more cheese on my pizza. They don't give condiments but you can buy Parmesan cheese which is an added cost. I also ordered a Caesar salad which was the better of the two. I got the half salad since the full was out of stock (?) they also said they were out of croutons but also somehow were able to find croutons so I appreciated that. For the price, I expected a lot more but it's just alright. I would probably just order from Little Coyote next time I want a fancy pizza. read more

Ordered our food to go (planned on eating in the car) and was asked if we wanted it warmed up =/ Anyway when we got to the car 1st square I bit into was not warmed up. Decided to just go home. For having the word Cheezy in it's name none of the slices were cheezy. I guess it's a descent place for the locals but it's worth driving out of your way for it. We ordered this pizza to our hotel room. It was so good. The sour dough crust was so light and tasty. Sauce and cheese were excellent and the pepperoni had just the right amount of spice. Went for a casual lunch on a Tuesday to check out the newer pizza place in Long Beach. We parked on the street (non-metered). The outdoor sign proudly declares the sourdough crust, so we knew we needed to try that. It's a smaller space, with the kitchen/oven in the back. You place your order first and then pay. There are a few tables inside and outside if you want to eat-in, but as expected, most people were ordering carry-out. It's a small menu. Besides different types of pizza, they have chicken wings. They don't have any clear signage on the price. Sodas are in cans and bottles in the nearby beverage refrig. They did have many different types of pizza pre-built, ready to be served as slices...so we went with that and decided to eat-in. They have a pretty large selection of prebuilt pizzas, ready as slices. Bloomdale, Truffle Shuffle, and Brooklyn Bee were the speciality pizzas along with Cheese and Pepperoni...built as New York Style. They also had Pan Pizza (maybe going for Detroit Style) by the slice as well. Everything was cut up into 1/8. We ordered three pieces to share: 2 pepperoni slices (one NY and one pan) and one Truffle Shuffle. The folks working there are super friendly: you place your order and pay. They will then take the slices to the back to be reheated in the oven. It came out pretty quickly. They do make good pizza...charred and crispy crust, with plenty of toppings. The pan style really showcased the sourdough, and it was airy and delicious. That being said, I think we would order a whole pie next time to be more value. With one can of soda and tip, the meal came out to be around $26, which is expensive for 3 slices. read more
