Chicago style deep dish pizza! What makes this one different than others I've tried is that here the sauce is a bit sweet, there's less cheese, and the crust isn't too thick, although it's nice and deep. All of those factors are appreciated! I got the Loaded combination and it was perfect. The pizza takes a solid hour from the time you hang up your phone after placing the order. And that's expected because this is a thick pizza that needs time to cook. It is a takeout only operation. However there are 2 bar stools and a narrow counter if you're desperate. They are only open on limited days and limited hours. Be sure to check their website as they keep it up to date regarding their latest hours of operation. Currently (as of July 2025) they are only open Wednesday to Friday from 3pm to 7pm. But they do catering, so be sure to give them a call for your next event!

Truly love how they master their pies--meaning both savory and sweet! They also have pretty decent wings as well. Ordered the spinach deep dish, honey bbq sesame wings, and a dozen of cookies (chocolate chip, oatmeal cranberry, and snickerdoodle). The spinach deep dish speaks for itself--amazing!! Very simple in ingredients but absolutely finger-lickin' good! It is comprised of mozz cheese, mushroom, and spinach--amazing! The wings were succulent and meaty! To my surprise, I thoroughly enjoyed the snickerdoodle cookies. They were thin and perfectly seasoned in cinnamon. My second favorite was the oatmeal cranberry cookies. They also sell pies by the whole and by "hand." I definitely am going to come back to try their Loaded deep dish pizza and the banana cream pie that fellow Yelpers rave about. Oh - and they have loaded fries, which I also am going to come to try!

I tried all 4 flavors of their hand pies and the cranberry cookie. All were delicious. My absolute favorite was the Nutella banana handpie. And my friends all agree. Call 24 hr in advance if you want to order whole pies. I wasn't able to get one day of. Wilson was great. Helped save me the pies I needed. Very friendly too.

    Personal Deep Dish Pizza

When I called 40 mins before closing time, they didn't take an order because it takes 45 minutes to bake it. But when I called today they said it's ready in 25-30 minutes. And I went pick it up. they've forgotten my order. I had to wait for 30 minutes.

I had the personal regular crust which was ok, the food was fresh and the toppings were plentiful. But my favorite by far was the personal deep dish. It was an extra half hour but we'll worth the time. It will be the only pizza I get from here on out. Can't say enough good things about it.

During this covid19 period, 5000 Pies continues to serve their community. They even offered pantry items to help provide reasonably priced mainstays for the folks in west Long Beach. They do offer takeout, and we called ahead with our order. Got two deep dish pizzas (the crust is so flavorful) and some of their award winning hand pies! Thank you chef Mike and your team for giving us a reason to smile during this period of isolation. Your deep dish is far superior to a trip to Chicago.

Ask the Community - 5000 Pies

Are you going to be closed for thanksgiving week again this year?

Hi Kayla, Thank you for asking. Yes, we will be closed for Thanksgiving week.

Are these their real hours from 3:30pm-7, or they didn't update their info on yelp?

Thanks for your inquiry. Yes, we do update Yelp and those were our summer hours. We will be closed to prepare for the new school year with our new staff team. When we start our Fall Schedule beginning August 30th, we will be back to our 2:30 - 6 pm… Read more

My New Go-To Coffee Spot -- You HAVE to Try This Place! I…read morewas just recently introduced to this little gem, and I am so glad I was! From the moment you walk in, the vibe is warm, cute, and incredibly welcoming -- the kind of spot that instantly feels like your place. The drinks are on point. I've tried the iced coffee and the matcha, and both were excellent -- not overly sweet, not watered down, just really well done. But what truly won me over? The breakfast sandwiches. I had a croissant sandwich with sausage, egg, and cheese, and it was chef's kiss -- fresh, high-quality ingredients, generous portions, and packed with flavor. Not a single corner cut. And the service? Amazing. The staff is attentive, friendly, and genuinely makes you feel taken care of. That kind of hospitality is rare and it absolutely elevates the whole experience. This is officially my new coffee spot, hands down. Whether you're stopping in for a quick coffee or sitting down for a full breakfast, do yourself a favor and check this place out. You won't regret it!

Walking in the ambiance was regular typical cafe. The customer service was traditionally basic. I ordered for 4ppl and when I arrived home I noticed my order was partially wrong. I ordered 2 bacon avocado toast, 1 avocado toast and a grilled cheese. They forgot the bacon on one of the avocado toast. And 2 of the 4 drinks weren't full. As I mentioned it was about a 20 minute drive so I just took the loss. The taste of the food was ok for 2 of the ppl other 2 ppl one being myself was kind turned off with the missing bacon and half full drinks so I basically trashed my meal. I'm aware humans make mistakes but that alone doesn't make me want to rush back to this location. I do want to mention something good about this place I did like how they dressed up the avocado toast with the egg on the side.

Where do I even start about this restaurant?…read more The atmosphere? Welcoming and friendly. The food? Let's just say I was contemplating what dish I wanted to try next WHILE eating my meal- incredible and fresh! I ordered the Butifarra Sandwich, Lomo Saltado, and a PB&J Latte. Butifarra Sandwich: flavorful and super satisfying. It was tender and the bread was soft AND crunchy? Amazing. The yucca fries were a perfect accompaniment. Lomo Saltado: it just hit the spot. This felt like eating a home cooked meal in the very best way. Wholesome and flavorful and fresh! PB&J Latte: this was a cheeky choice for a weekend treat and I was NOT disappointed. Smooth and sweet without being overly sweet thoroughly impressed me. It was pure comfort in a cup. I've been dreaming about this restaurant since trying it for the first time.

It's truly a hidden gem. Once we sat down and placed our order, that's when the smell of the food started coming through, and it made the wait even more worth it. I ordered the pulled ham sandwich, and even though it sounds simple, the flavor and combination of everything, especially with the yuca fries, was really impressive. The spicy sauce they give on the side is also really good and ties everything together. My partner got the green chicken pasta (I can't remember the name), and that was just as delicious. Definitely something I'd order again. We also tried the arroz con leche coffee, which was amazing. I'll probably try it with caffeine next time since we came closer to closing for dinner. The space is ambient and spacious, and the staff were friendly and helpful when explaining the menu, which makes a big difference when you're not sure what to get. They also have free parking outside, it's handicap accessible, and there are restrooms available. One thing to note--it's a cashless place, so make sure to bring a card. I'm definitely coming back to try more of the menu.

This time (yesterday), however, was not nearly the same experience. First of all, I realized we couldn't book a table for 8 people, so me and my friends book 2 tables for 8.30PM. I called asking if it's possible to put our tables together close or side by side, they said they will try their best. We all showed up at 8.30 and waited until around 9-9.15 because they only had 1 table ready. Ok. Come the time the other table opened and it's not even that close to each other. But it's okay, I respect the limitations on this part. No one came to us to take our order or even give us water until way later, and we got our drinks at 9.45. Another critique is that my friend called and ask how much corkage fee and they said $25. It turned out to be $40. Another disappointment, but it's ok. Not much can be done bout that part. Next thing is the food. We enjoyed the fried green beans. Crudo was really really salty, and it's not only 1 person thought that. We wondered if the kitchen mistakenly salted the fish twice. We enjoyed the peach salad. We ordered a few different pasta and the tagliatelle in particular was disappointing. It really lacked flavor that we had to mix the other pasta dish sauce to it. The pork plate was good, a bit small but we enjoyed it. Now the mussles and frites were disappointing too. The sauce just didn't do it for me (other friends agreed). I always talked really highly about Nonna Mercato (I also enjoyed the brunch so much) and always told people that this is one of my most favorite restaurants in Long Beach, but this one really missed the mark for me and my friends. I don't know if this would make us want to go to Summer Nights again next time. For $130 per person (after tax, tip, and corkage fees), I definitely hoped for a much better experience.

I was in Lomita and was looking for a place to grab coffee and pastries. While browsing Yelp, I was…read moresurprised to find out there was a Cream Pan nearby. I've always wanted to try their Orange County location but just never got around to it, so I was excited to finally give them a try. I walked in expecting it to be self-serve like 85 Degrees Bakery, but it's actually set up more like a donut shop or Porto's, where most of the pastries are displayed in a case and you tell the staff what you'd like. They do have a refrigerated self-serve section with sandwiches and onigiri, as well as a table with loaves of bread and buns. The ordering process caught me off guard because I usually like taking my time looking through all the pastries at bakeries. Since everything was behind the counter, I felt a little rushed with people waiting behind me. They have so many options that it can be a bit overwhelming. I also had to stop myself from ordering too much since I'm trying to cut back on carbs. Here's what I ordered: Hot Dog Bun - 4/5: Tasty with a soft, fluffy bun. I just wish it had a little more of that cheesy crust on top. Ham and Cheese Croissant - 3/5: My boyfriend ordered this and thought it was just okay. It was a little small for the price. Strawberry Cream Croissant - 5/5: They're known for this, and now I understand why. The pastry was light and flaky, the strawberries were sweet, and the custard was rich without being overly sweet. Spam Roll Onigiri - 4/5: I loved the egg, and it was really flavorful. It was served a bit cold, though. I think it would taste even better if it were kept under a heat lamp. Raisin Bun - 5/5: So soft and fluffy, with just the right amount of raisins. It was also a great value--six buns for only $4.20. Hot Vanilla Latte - 4/5: Strong with just a light sweetness. It was really good, but I think it could have been a little creamier. The prices were reasonable. I spent about $26 for everything, which I thought was a great deal. Customer service was excellent. Even though there was a line behind me, the staff never made me feel rushed while I decided what I wanted. The barista was especially friendly and even checked in afterward to ask if I liked my latte. If I'm ever back in the area, I would definitely come again.
