Hey reader, don't be shy, just come here and get the sandwich. But like for real, the butifarra sandwich was soooo good. Sliced jamon de pais (which is less like American-style ham and more like lechon), topped with aji sauce, topped with pickled red onions, on a fresh baguette-style bread that was like legit perfect. I got it with yucca fries that I liberally doused with their aji verde, which was spicy and addictive. The sandwich was massive; you could probably share it, though you may not want to. My husband got the lomo saltado, which he said was good, but I was admittedly too immersed in my sandwich to have any strong opinions on it. An iced arroz con leche latte made for a fantastic sweet treat to wrap up the meal; I enjoy my coffee creamy and sweet, but this one was straight up dessert. Super indulgent. Service was really friendly. The restaurant vibe was casual and low-key. Everything was great. So anyway, yeah, just oblige your curiosity and get the sandwich. Totally worth it.
I was so fortunate to randomly wander into this restaurant! I spotted it from across the street at the Chevron gas station and saw that it was a Peruvian restaurant. Their menu is very extensive and I received a recommendation from Karla who happens to be the executive chef. She was so friendly and courteous! She recommended the BUTIFARRA. This sandwich was phenomenal! It was half a pound of a specially prepared pork. It was on a toasted house-made French bread with lettuce, special Ají sauce (SHMACKIN) and pickled onions. It came with a side of non-seasoned (thank you) fries. The dining area is decorated with a mural and had some salsa music playing in the background. The restaurant and restroom are super clean! I will definitely find my way back here again!
Came by to try this new place an hour before closing and service was great. We asked our server for his recommendations and they did not disappoint. Pasta was delicious and hot too.. arroz con leche with almond milk was delicious.
First in line on a Sunday morning and we're greeted with warm smiles and hearty HELLOs! The greeting is always the first thing I notice here as they work to memorize names, faces, and personal orders. Our food took maybe 15 minutes to receive, but we simply sat and enjoyed the bright murals on the walls as well as the other Peruvian artifacts on display. Go visit. Go often!
I had Alli Kaphiy bookmarked for a while and finally got a chance to try it. There is a small parking lot attached that made parking easy. The interior of the restaurant is spacious and decorated with a nice mural on the wall. There are several tables for dine-in. Although it was lunch time, we were able to order off the dinner menu as well. Prices were moderate with good-sized portions, and service was very friendly. We ordered the ceviche mixto and pescado sudado. I was less familiar with pescado sudado, but the waitress said that the restaurant owners are from Northern Peru so they offer some Northern Peruvian dishes. Both dishes were very tasty, and the ceviche was quite spicy (granted, we opted for it to be spicy since they inquired whether we wanted it spicy). We also ordered the chicha morada and maracuya to drink, but both were a bit diluted and also a bit pricey at $7.50 each, so I might just go with water next time. Overall, food and service were excellent and I am excited to have another Peruvian restaurant in Long Beach. I can't wait to return and try more off of the menu!
Got The Sausage ($10.75). I asked the waitress if it came with potatoes. She said it comes with fries. I was really hoping to get the home styled potatoes as seen on other pictures on Yelp, but no worries. The Sausage is a good tasting breakfast sandwich. Good quality bun. Flavorful sausage. Generous amount of eggs. If you want some heat, try there Aji Verde sauce. Service was very friendly and prompt. No issues on parking since there are plenty of parking spaces available in the strip mall where AK is located.
I just ate lunch here. The music was very enjoyable The ladies serving were very nice. I ordered the Butifarra Sandwich. It was absolutely delicious. The meat was so juicy, the sauce was delicious, and the bread was crumbly and warm. I cannot wait to try more items next time.

FOOD: ordered takeout on a Friday afternoon. We got... The Chimu sandwich with potato fries. Delicious. The chicken is tender and flavorful. The bread is perfect for this complex sandwich. The fries are battered and good. They traveled well. Sesame crunch chicken salad. Fresh vegetables and a well seasoned, breaded chicken cutlet. Tumi salad. A fresh salad with a large quinoa patty. The patty was soft and sort of reminded me of egg foo yung. I want to mention how good the salad dressing was. A sesame vinaigrette that compliments the salads. The Suprema burger with yucca fries. The burger was so good. Beef patty, Italian sausage patty and a beautifully fried egg. Would definitely recommend this. The yucca fries were bland compared to the potato fries. The green salsa was spicy and a nice consistency. Beverages were an Inca cola and a strong hazelnut coffee. The coffee was made right in front of me with fresh espresso. SERVICE: Cynthia was awesome. The food was ready when I got there and neatly packaged. AMBIENCE: clean, large restaurant in an unassuming little strip mall.
First timer at Alli Kaphiy. Had heard about this place through social media. Was hoping to get breakfast but had lunch instead. Had the Chan-Chan sandwich and flatbread. Pretty good! Flat bread was definitely better. Also had the PB&J latte and a cappuccino. Coffee was okay. Overall great service, friendly staff, and wide menu. Their dishes looked good. Definitely want to come back for breakfast or sit down.

Don't sleep on this place!! First off - the chef, Karla, is a gem. I met her while volunteering for a local indigenous gathering. I was so excited for the opening of her brick and mortar because the food she made for our event was always incredible. Her family also works with her so it is a very homey, loving vibe. The servers/baristas were helpful and smiling. Everything we tried here exceeded my expectations. You can really taste the quality and skill in everything. The coffee drinks really surprised me because they weren't too sweet and you could really taste the coffee along with the subtlety of the flavors. We tried the arroz con leche and the pb&j. Both were super good but I loved the pb&j because it was a unique flavor with a nice touch of peanut and fresh strawberry jam. Bufitarra was delicious. I think what sets these sandwiches apart is again the quality of the ingredients. The pork was juicy and flavorful and I don't even like pork like that. The bread is really good too. The aji sauce is good w the right amount of spice. We got the yuca fries which were nice and crispy as well. Def a shareable sandwich as it's huge. We also got the ceviche which is only sold on weekends. Bomb! Again, you can taste the quality of ingredients. The stars were the mahi mahi, mussels, octopus and calamari. So fresh and the leche de tigre was so good and very lime forward. At the end wrap up the lettuce and drink the leche! They have coffee, sandwiches, some breakfast items and burgers on weekdays. Weekends they have other specials available. Def will be back!

WOW This coffee and sandwich establishment did not disappoint! All their lunch specials come with either French fries or yuca. We ordered: * The Chan-Chan- all pork chicharron sandwich on a house-made toasty French baguette. Could've easily shared this with someone else and been stuffed. It was jam packed with lots of meat, which was balanced out by the tangy marinated red onions. Really tasty combo with their special aji sauce, which did have a nice spicy kick to it. I think my favorite part was the French bread... warm, toasty, nice crunch when bit into. Yum! * The Royal- the meat on this burger was soo juicy! The over medium egg exploded onto the fries and it was heaven. Could've shared this combo and been satisfied also. The Yuca fries were so special! I've never had yuca before and it tasted like the potato wedge's cousin. Delish! * Arroz con leche- ordered my coffee over ice and it was amazing! Creamy, strong coffee taste with an horchata flavor. Definitely recommend I would 100% come back to try more of the items on their menu!

Where do I even start about this restaurant? The atmosphere? Welcoming and friendly. The food? Let's just say I was contemplating what dish I wanted to try next WHILE eating my meal- incredible and fresh! I ordered the Butifarra Sandwich, Lomo Saltado, and a PB&J Latte. Butifarra Sandwich: flavorful and super satisfying. It was tender and the bread was soft AND crunchy? Amazing. The yucca fries were a perfect accompaniment. Lomo Saltado: it just hit the spot. This felt like eating a home cooked meal in the very best way. Wholesome and flavorful and fresh! PB&J Latte: this was a cheeky choice for a weekend treat and I was NOT disappointed. Smooth and sweet without being overly sweet thoroughly impressed me. It was pure comfort in a cup. I've been dreaming about this restaurant since trying it for the first time. read more
I normally come for the Indian food in the plaza, but this spot has been on my bookmarks for a while. I'm really glad I finally tried it--and also a little annoyed I waited this long. It's truly a hidden gem. Once we sat down and placed our order, that's when the smell of the food started coming through, and it made the wait even more worth it. I ordered the pulled ham sandwich, and even though it sounds simple, the flavor and combination of everything, especially with the yuca fries, was really impressive. The spicy sauce they give on the side is also really good and ties everything together. My partner got the green chicken pasta (I can't remember the name), and that was just as delicious. Definitely something I'd order again. We also tried the arroz con leche coffee, which was amazing. I'll probably try it with caffeine next time since we came closer to closing for dinner. The space is ambient and spacious, and the staff were friendly and helpful when explaining the menu, which makes a big difference when you're not sure what to get. They also have free parking outside, it's handicap accessible, and there are restrooms available. One thing to note--it's a cashless place, so make sure to bring a card. First time hitting up Alli Kaphiy and it was a win. Grabbed the Jamon del Pais (house-made ham) with yuca and the Chimu (seasoned shredded roasted chicken) with fries. Both were really good and very filling--definitely didn't leave hungry. The house-made ham was a standout, and the Chimu chicken has a great specialty seasoning. It came with a side sauce that was really flavorful; I love spice, so if there was any heat in it, I couldn't really tell, but the flavor was definitely there. Next time I'll ask if they have a Rocoto sauce for a bit more kick. Solid spot for authentic Peruvian flavors and huge portions. I'll be back. read more

Finally checked out this spot and I am glad I did! Lovely people working there and I decided I needed to try their Inti Hot Dog with Pervian cole slaw and their delicious green sauce. It was huge and it was delicious!! I look forward to working my way through their menu! Check them out! read more

This is a great addition to Cal Heights. My wife and I walked over from our home and picked up lunch. My hot dog was a tasty rendition with peruvian slaw on top, and the french fries were thin and crispy. My wife's chicken sandwich was even better, which I would get next time for sure. I'd love to see more on the menu, especially popular favorites like saltado or tallarin, but I'm definitely happy to have Alli Kaphiy in our neighborhood rotation. read more
This spot opened up about a month ago and it was the biggest mistake I made not stopping by! Location is a little rough as there isn't much parking but the food was well worth it. I came in for a quick lunch meal. First impressions, very clean, interesting layout, to be honest, I thought the dining area was nice but the service area was a little clunky. Menu is on the opposite wall of the cash register. Nevertheless, we move on. I'm greeted by a lovely team filled with smiles. I take a look at the menu and make my choice, the Chan-chan sandwich and a PB&J latte. I take my food process to go eat near my office. This sandwich was epic! Pork was super succulent. Acidic onions and herbaceous toppings cut through the richness. Bread was soft, yucca was fried perfectly! And that soup is a sleeeeeeeeeper! I can eat a whole pot of it and never get sick of it. The PB&J latte wasn't my favorite but that's my fault. I'm a black coffee kind of guy. Should've just gotten an americano. Overall, food is well worth the price. During my bulking season, I plan to swing by once a week. Move over Teri House, there's a new challenger on the block! read more
Caught their grand opening week this morning! What a great addition to our Bixby Knolls neighborhood! An authentic Peruvian spot! Ordered their yummy hot PB&J latte and a Sausage Breakfast sandwich! Hubby ordered their blended Mocha Frappe. All tasted great! Met the Family... Karla was super nice! Can't wait to frequent this spot! I want to try their entire menu now! This is a great addition to the area. Nice indoindoor seating available. Fresh and clean inside. My order was wrong, but it didn't bother me because allowing them some grace to work out the kinks is necessary for them to survive. The food was really good and fresh, I wish the condor had carved turkey instead of sliced (like lunch meat) and a sourdough or brioche bun instead of plain white bread toast. The bacon, breakfast sandwich was executed perfectly, crisp bacon, delicious egg and yummy bun, not to mention all sandwiches come with a side of potatoes. This was a great meal. A few hiccups, but, hey I'm going back to support and try them again. I know once they find their rhythm, this place will be outstanding. read more
Service here is incredible. Family owned small business with such a friendly vibe. You feel like you're in your favorite aunts kitchen! Ambiance chill and inviting very clean too. Words cannot describe how delicious this food is, and if you get a dish with beef, it is PERFECTLY cooked and flavorful even without sauce. I've had Peruvian before, but never this delicious. I'm genuinely surprised to see some 1 star reviews, maybe some people are just cheeseburger people. They also sell beautiful 100% genuine alpaca fur alpaca stuffed animals in a glass case (hypoallergenic and so soft). read more
Heard about a new Peruvian sandwich spot near me opened so I thought I try it out. Parking here wasn't bad but the parking lot is and can get full at times. I've never had Peruvian sandwiches before, so I just picked the butifarra which claims to be the second most famous sandwich in the world and it also came with yucca fries. The sandwich was pretty good and had a good amount of Jamon. The fries were good too especially with the green sauce. Overall, I would come back again. read more

First time here and definitely won't be the last. The Chimu sandwhich and Butifarra sandwhich were SO good. The sandwiches were crispy and the inside was filled with savory meat and red onions. It also comes with a side of a house creamy green sauce. Side of Yuka fries were the perfect pair. They're crispy and delicious!! For about $15 a sandwhich definitely worth the portion size and taste experience. Not to mention the service was quick and staff was very welcoming. Also the coffee here is awesome, they have so many options!! I ordered a hazelnut oat milk latte and it was perfect. The ambiance is welcoming and lively playing Hispanic music in the background.
