My experience at Spago's in Beverly Hills was absolutely amazing. The food far exceeded my expectations with respect to flavor, seasoning and presentation. I ordered the Brazino and the braised Short Ribs. I've had Brazino at various locations in the past and without question, this was the best I've had thus far. It was extremely large and sat atop a dark colored delicious sauce which, was outstanding. The short ribs were tender, had great flavor and were cooked perfectly. Other than the food being exceptional and the table service on point, the highlight of the evening was when owner, operator and celebrity Chef Wolfgang Puck stopped by to say hello and inquired about my meal. I really wanted to be wowed by Spago. With the Wolfgang Puck name, the reputation, and the price point, expectations are naturally high. Unfortunately, my experience landed more in the "it was fine" category than memorable fine dining. The evening started promisingly with cocktails and beautifully presented small bites. Presentation throughout dinner was polished, and there's no question that a lot of thought goes into how everything arrives at the table. The bread service was elaborate and visually impressive, and several of the smaller bites were interesting. But as the meal progressed, I kept waiting for that one dish that would make me understand the hype. The truffle pizza certainly looked luxurious--and they weren't shy with the truffles--but even that didn't deliver the knockout flavor I expected. It was good. Just...good. At this level, I was expecting something I'd still be talking about the next day. That's really how I felt about the overall meal. Nothing was necessarily bad. The ingredients seemed high quality, the plating was sophisticated, and the experience had all the elements of upscale dining. It simply didn't translate into food that excited me. And when you're dining at a restaurant with Spago's reputation, "just okay" feels more disappointing than it would somewhere else. Service and atmosphere were polished, but ultimately I'm reviewing the entire experience relative to the expectations and price point. I'm glad I finally experienced Spago for myself, but would I rush back? Probably not. There are too many exceptional restaurants where I've left genuinely excited about what I just ate. read more

We booked a reservation to have dinner here on a Friday night as part of our LA trip. Great ambiance, impeccable service, the owner Barbara was very friendly and even came to greet us at our table. Having said that, some of the food was a bit of a let down for the price: 1) amuse bouche 4/5: it was some savory sweet raspberries in a nest come, good blend of flavors 2) salmon pizza 2/5: the cream cheese sauce and salmon, caviar toppings were good. The pizza itself was very unique. But the crust was dry like cracker and hard to eat, it was cold and reminded me of frozen pizza. It should have came with a dip. 3) schnitzel 4/5: as someone who doesn't like schnitzel, this dish was very good. The bearded fried chicken reminded me a bit of mcnuggets. The side dishes of coleslaw cucumber, vinegar potatoes and tomatoes were divine. The serving size was rly big so we were able to split this dish. 4) kaiserschmarrn 3/5: vanilla souffle on a bed of strawberries, compote, and ice cream. Just wow! This experience was everything and more. I took my son to LA for his graduation trip. I wanted to have the experience of a lifetime including dinner at a fancy restaurant. I decided on Spago with hopes of an exceptional meal and the possibility of seeing someone famous. We arrived and were greeted promptly with a great table. The service was impeccable. We started with the bread basket. My son ordered the truffle pizza. I ordered the squid ink pasta with lobster. For dessert we ordered the box of chocolates. We were surprised that we were brought two chocolate chip cookies to celebrate graduation! As we were waiting outside for our valet, I saw paparazzi. It was my first time here and I came here for my birthday. I never heard of this restaurant. I looked on ig, yelp; and the website and it was literally right up my alley. Fancy restaurant and great quality pictures....they give me Europe vibes. Conrad, the host was so professional and very inviting. We got set right away. The only thing I was a little bummed about was that the menu online isn't the menu they have in person. The host let me know if there was something wrong with the website. It was limited options, but I do like they have an amuse bouche tasting course and then in all the cart side. I started with the truffle fries, which are absolutely delicious and then I got the 36 ounce steak. These are big juicy pieces and they cut it for you table side. I love the wine sauce it comes with. I also got the cannoli caviar and something about me is that I love caviar. This place is definitely expensive taste I think we spent almost $1000 here. We each got two cocktails and then a tequila chilled shot. I got the Hanuto and he got Pinot. The valet was also nice gentlemen as only $20 I believe. The dark soufflé was pretty good, but I was hoping for something more dense however, the chocolate candies at the bottom was so tasty and a good crunch. It has that classic Wolfgang Puck energy and a dining room that still feels special, with a steady mix of regulars and longtime fans. I usually start with the bread box, but it seems like when I dine there most people start the meal with the pizza and scones along with the bread box. The bread box is warm and simple in the best way, and the scones are light, buttery, and one of those signature touches that people always seem to order right away. It all sets a strong tone for the table. For pizza, the salmon pizza is really the signature and what the restaurant is most known for. It's delicate, flavorful, and very well balanced, and it stands out as one of the more unique items on the menu. The vegetarian pizzas are also a great option, especially with white or black truffle, which add a richer aroma and depth without feeling too heavy. They also offer a tasting menu, which the restaurant is known for, but it is very extensive and more of a long, multi-course experience than something I usually go for. For entrées, I'm usually between the pasta dishes and the Jidori chicken. Both are consistently well executed and reliable, and it really just comes down to what I feel like that night. One thing that really drives me a little crazy here though is when the waiter says not to order the same entrée as your date. It's something I've heard on multiple occasions and I honestly still don't really get it. It feels unnecessary because at the end of the day, I just want to order what I want to eat. Parking is always easy and convenient with street parking, nearby parking structures, or valet all available and simple to use. For dessert, the chocolate soufflé is a must, and the cookies are also really good. If you don't order dessert, on some occasions they will even send something complimentary to go, which is a really nice touch. The restaurant overall still has a strong presence, a loyal crowd, and a level of hospitality that feels polished but welcoming. It's not unusual to see Wolfgang Puck or Barbara around the room greeting guests, which adds to the experience. The only real downside has been occasional overbooking, including one instance with a long wait past reservation time, but that has been rare. Overall, it remains a polished, classic Beverly Hills dining experience with a few signature dishes that still make it worth visiting. My husband and I had a wonderful anniversary dinner here at Spago. I made reservations just to be safe and were seated right away. The service was amazing !!! The food exceptional and the best part was meeting chef Wolfgang Puck. Wow Wow Wow ... he is so friendly, took a picture with us and thanked us for being here. Everything we ordered was amazing. We tried the Innovation Menu at Spago Beverly Hills, and the experience was absolutely wonderful from start to finish. The restaurant itself is beautiful--elegant yet welcoming--and perfectly situated in the heart of Beverly Hills. What truly stood out, though, was the service. Our server was incredibly friendly, attentive, and thoughtful. We dined with our 6-month-old baby, and he went above and beyond to make sure our baby was comfortable, even bringing over a chair so we could safely place the car seat. We ordered the 10-course tasting menu, which made for a long and leisurely dinner. The staff was so accommodating to our family--they even prepared simple pasta and kids' food for our boys to keep them happy and occupied, which we really appreciated. As for the food--everything was outstanding. Highlights included the Dungeness crab, the smoked burrata ravioli, Alaskan halibut, Wolfe Ranch quail, and the braised Angus short rib. Each dish was beautifully presented and full of flavor. Spago truly delivers not only on fine dining but also on hospitality. I have been meaning to write a review for some time now... This restaurant has always been very consistent with their serve and their excellent food. The ambiance is beautiful and classy. Definitely a culinary experience. I usually always leave with some sort of upset stomach when I go out to dinner, it never fails! But, this place, the quality and the attention to everyone's dietary restriction, they take it to the next level. Normally when going into a restaurant, they hate to "accommodate" or a lot of the times you will hear or read "no substitution". Only if you have a serious allergy of some sort of medical will they modify, and when they do modify, the food is either bland or not even worth eating at all... Kudos for your superb customer service! Thank you for the memorable meal! (I have gluten and diary intolerant). The food is phenomenal in every way, the only thing I would change is the entrees, it's so rich maybe suggest or pair with some sort of acidic sides to cut some of the richness. Food: Appetizers: *Gluten free brioche - amazing! Can't tell it was gluten free. Memorable birthday dinner with amazing food and standout service energy I went to Spago Beverly Hills for a late birthday dinner, and overall it was a wonderful experience. I'd had a long work day and honestly wasn't even in the mood to go out, but our main server (an older gentleman -- I wish I remembered his name!) truly turned the night around. His energy was warm, genuine, and made the experience feel special from start to finish. He even brought me a small taster to start, such a thoughtful touch that didn't go unnoticed. The food: We started with the tuna tartare cones, which were perfectly crisp, light, and full of fresh ginger flavor. The corn agnolotti pasta was next-level: super fresh, silky handmade noodles with a beautiful sage brown butter sauce. I ordered the duck breast, which was cooked perfectly tender and juicy, though I personally found the sauce a little too smoky and overpowering. I would've loved a touch of sweetness or brightness to balance it out, but the duck itself was fantastic and a generous portion. At first we wanted to back-out 'coz we saw a lot of empty tables, but I'm glad we stayed 'coz omg the whole Place filled up so fast for dinner time! We were seated at a beautiful and comfy spot of the restaurant, we can see the entire room from where we were seated and we could also see a big Glass that where we could see the Kitchen and we can see how busy they were preparing foods. Get this Smoked Salmon pizza when you visit this restaurant. For our Main Dishes lets start with my son's food, he had the BRIGANTI PASTA which has MAINE LOBSTER, cippolini, preserved meyer lemon, and basil, my Son said this was a delicious pasta with a generous amount of Lobsters. My dish is the JIDORI CHICKEN, this also came with a good portion, it's tender and I love the chanterelle mushroom and goat cheese in this, simple and delicious. My Husband had the LIBERTY FARM BREAST. It looks tiny in the picture, but they are really filling, tender, juicy, and delicious. It had a Savory Cabbage, Fuyu persimmon, Gochujang, with a blood orange reduction. For my drink I had the LYCHEE ROSE COCKTAIL, it came with a beautiful Flower glass and this drink is very smooth and delicious. I was already so full, so I just ordered KAISESCHMARRN For Dessert, this is a nice and fluffy dessert with Gaviota Strawberries, Raspberry Stracciatella, Golden raisins, and candied Almonds. This is not overly sweet and it's sharable. At almost at the end of our dinner I saw a very familiar face entering the restaurant waving and shaking hands with the diners. And the closer the person got to our table towards inside the restaurant, I finally recognized him well, its Chef WOLFGANG PUCK! And it was an even better experience when he SAT DOWN with us and chatted a bit, such a nice and very humble Celebrity Chef in person. All in all, the dining experience here was absolutely Excellent and we are definitely dining back here for more delicious food. For a Fine Dining restaurant, this restaurant has a great food portion and it's so delicious , and with staff that are very friendly. Morgan , our server, is great . And an old guy , I think it his name either Juan or Jose who delivers food or picked up our done plates in our table, their services absolutely added to the great dining experience we had here. Wolfgang Puck's most famous restaurant never seems to disappoint. I'm always so impressed that if Wolfgang Puck is there, he will walk around the dining room and personally greet every diner and ask how your meal is! Immaculate service by charming waiters, a beautiful outdoor courtyard with a heated patio and cozy indoor seating. Decades ago, before Wolfgang Puck took over, this location was the "Bistro Gardens" restaurant which in the 1980s was one of the most Hollywood star studded restaurants for lunch and dinner. And the location is still fabulous. My favorite is the smoked salmon pizza. It's off menu but you can always order it. The legend is that Wolfgang Puck invented this famous pizza when actress Joan Collins ordered smoked salmon with brioche and the restaurant was out of bread. Puck replaced the bread with a fresh pizza crust and created this instant hit. The thin and crisp pizza dough is freshly baked and topped with a cool dill-infused crème fraîche and in house cured smoked salmon. I order the regular version, but if you are feeling extravagant you can also order it with a dollop of fine caviar. It's savory and sweet, and the warm crispness of the fresh pizza dough with the tanginess of the dill in the creamy layer of crème fraîche and the delicious savory thinly sliced smoked salmon on top just makes for a completely unexpected taste treat. To the uninitiated it might sound really basic, but it's so delicious. My friend loves the rich and creamy agnolotti pasta which is seasonal and always has different ingredients. Since right now it's the winter holiday season, the pasta is filled with a slightly sweet chestnut filling. This is a fantastic spot for a special occasion because they make an incredible soufflé. Just make sure to order it when you order your main course because it takes at least 20 minutes to be prepared. It changes flavors seasonally, and on this visit it was a dark chocolate soufflé with a delicious vanilla ice cream, Chantilly cream, and a rich chocolate sauce poured into the center. It's so light and airy. Spago is in the heart of the Beverly Hills "Golden Triangle" and it's expensive, as most of the city's best and most famous restaurants are. For two people with two courses each, two drinks and one dessert to share plus tip, expect the bill to be (at the least) around $300. I have been dining at Spago since the 90's not to date myself or anything. It was super hip back then and it's still pretty cool. The food is consistently decent and the ambience is always chill. They have some great gluten-free items without cheese. I love this location in Beverly Hills and it has sentimental value and so many memories. They have a full bar with great cocktails, and I had some champagne and met up with old friends. It was a super fun evening but my best friend hates cell phones so I didn't take any pictures but I did get to meet Wolfgang puck and he was really sweet. I have gone to Spago at Beverly Hills several times and it is always a treat, but this time was so incredible that I have to write a review. Spago, the Wolfgang Puck flagship restaurant, has an in-house pastry chef named Della Gossett, whose desserts are unmatched on a global scale. I was so impressed by the quality of her pastries that I expressed my appreciation, and I brought my culinary afficionado to Spago to try for herself. What happened this evening was above and beyond. Della Gossett came out to our table and I literally choked. She stayed and spoke with us for a VERY long time, giving us all her energy and attention, and sharing the secrets of Spago and the Wolfgang Puck menus. Then, as we were fangirling, a GANG of SERVERS came out and gave us a complimentary fraiche amuse bouche, a complimentary bread assortment appetizer, and a SURPRISE EASTER EGG CHALLAH BOX, to which Della Gossett said that she was providing this to us on the house. I have attached photographs and videos below, but I was legitimately stunned. The generosity of the staff here is UNMATCHED, and the care that they invest in their dishes is unlike anything I have ever experienced. This challah has a personally colored easter egg boiled on top of it, with dewdrops of raw organic sugar adorned over the top. After I indulged in my favorite item at Spago, the legendary Dark Chocolate Souffle, the house provided us AGAIN with an assortment of cookies created especially by Della Gossett, including her homemade chocolate chip cookies and Oreo, which came adorned with chocolate shell and rainbow sprinkles. I promise I will never eat an Oreo again. Everything pales in comparison to Della's creations. The vivid tastes and the ingredients make other items grey. I highly recommend that you come here. Maria, you see the customers and you treat us like family. Della, Wolfgang, the busboys who combed our table, the gaggle of servers presenting our surprises, the secret coat check where our to-go boxes live, the wonderful man who conducts the kaiserschmarrn ritual...every employee is a work of art. Spago's tables are filled with families because they build a real connection, with real food. The options are delicious and impressive, reviving each season with new yet legendary dishes. Spago is always a 10/10 experience for special occasions. Yes, the menu is pricey, but everything about our experience was fantastic. We were seated at one of the half circle tables that gives a great view of the interior. Table was a great size for our group of 4 to talk since the room can get a little loud. Our server and additional staff were all very friendly and helpful throughout the evening. All the food was fantastic. My duck breast entree was perfectly cooked and had a great balance of flavors. But my favorite was of course the chocolate soufflé. No matter how full I am, I will always have room for this dessert. Can't wait to return for another special occasion. read more

The service and attentiveness at Spago were exceptional, as is the ambience. The simple reason I cannot give it any more than three stars is the food (and drinks) do not warrant the prices. The lobster-infused farfalle was incredible-well cooked, and flavorful. But did not warrant a cost of $42. Same with the negroni-$27 is simply too high for a drink. And the Singaporean style branzino, while good, was prepared in a similar vein to what you can order at a typical Thai or Chinese restaurant--deep fried with bell peppers and savory sauces--at less than half the cost, typically (it was $64). I understand many individuals go to Spago for the experience. I just think there is a serious disconnect between the prices and the final product. read more

Consistently wonderful food, service and atmosphere. The place is warm, inviting and classy- but not stiff and stuffy. Chef Puck's mingling with the guests is a testament to that. He has every reason to be proud of his long-established restaurant and the excellent food here. The caviar cannoli, persimmon burrata, chicory salad, hamachi, lobster pasta, jidori chicken, apple strudel, cheese plate were all delicious with it's own unique twist. We were regulars at the Spago in Las Vegas Caesar's. So when we come to Beverly Hills we usually come and eat here because we know it will be amazing. And this time, it really was. The service was pretty good but the food and drinks really shined for us. The bread box was the most decadent assortment of breads with this unforgettable carrot hummus and butter. The restaurant has the nicest ambience and you really feel like this is lux dining. The lighting is on point and the atrium patio vibe is stunning. read more

This place is good for a night out. They have a very good wine list, and most of the wines on the menu you are very very good. It's also a bit off-road down so it's not that much of a scene and this is a good thing. I asked for a vegetarian options and they had a great squash pasta dish. Everything was pretty good, but the dessert was average all in all. I will definitely come back again. read more

It was my first time "fine dining" for my birthday, and Spago really exceeded my expectations. With the exception of the front desk hostess, service was stellar! There was an older gentleman who seated us and he was so nice and professional. Every single serving employee here stayed on top of things and were always attentive. Jason was our server for the night and he too was very professional. The food was superb! Every dish we ordered felt like it exploded with different flavors. I loved the tuna cones (not on the menu) because I could taste every ingredient in it. My bf and I wanted to try each other's dish, so they apportioned the Garganelli pasta & Wagyu steak onto two separate plates, which was excellent. Shout out to the chefs and kitchen staff as well! We have been eating at Spago since 1982 (Hollywood location) and the current location in Beverly Hills since 2001, and we have never been disappointed. We do miss the foie gras - three ways (but California is nuts for banning it). Nonetheless, we love going to Spago for the traditional Weiner Schnitzel (Wolfgang's mother's recipe), which is truly wonderful! We love the service, especially when Wolfgang is at the restaurant. He is always so friendly and recognizes us because we have been his patrons for 40+ years! read more

However, during my visit, guests at the next table were openly playing cards throughout dinner. In a restaurant of this caliber, this felt inappropriate and detracted from the refined atmosphere the establishment is clearly aiming to create. Maintaining a consistent level of decorum is part of what defines a truly elevated dining experience.
