I was craving pizza, something with a lot of meat. After stopping and looking at another ready made pizza spot I was unimpressed. So I ventured over to Sliver because of the Yelp reviews. I was fortunate to score a parking space about a half a block away. I walked in and asked for a slice. The cashier began ringing me up. I interrupted her, and asked what kind of slices do you have? Her reply was we only make one type of slice a day it's Roasted Corn. I was like never mind. As I was leaving I saw a man enjoying his slices. So I turned around as I was starving, just finished work, and couldn't bear to make another stop. My goodness to my surprise the corn, chile pasilla, yellow onions, Cali Gold Moz, French Feta Cheese, Garnished with Cilantro, limes, crust brushed with infused garlic oil was one of the BEST pizza I've ever had. I loved it!! Who would have known. Oh, and the crust is sourdough. I would have gotten more had I known. The pizza is farm to table. The spot is dark and nothing special. But who needs a fancy space when the food speaks for itself.
When in the area, gotta get a slice of Sliver. For $4.95, not bad for a slice of the day. Today it was cremini mushroom, house tomato sauce, fresh herbs, Parmesan and garlic olive oil. Great combination of flavors. Really liked the cremini mushrooms and garlic olive oil. Order at the counter. Service was quick. Street parking only.

Great pizza! Love their green sauce too. Strawberry drink was too sweet. It wasn't cold as it should be and there is no ice which making it worse. TV was a bit too loud. Definitely go back for their pizzas though.
The HYPE around Sliver is REAL! Whenever I go to Berkeley, I always get excited to get some Sliver Pizza! It's so freaking good! Food - The Pizza's are one of a kind, you will not find anything like these pizzas no where else. They only serve one kind of pizza a day and the flavors change daily "The Pizza of the Day" but you can't go wrong with any of the pizzas, they are all Delicious. I've tried them all and they all have the perfect combination of toppings every time. All pizzas smell and taste amazing along with the thin crusty breading and oozing cheese and that green sauce they serve with all pizzas... addictive. Service - I've been coming to this location for the past three years and every time, Luis has helped me. Luis has been nothing but AMAZING!!! Always providing excellent customer service and has always greeted my family and me with a smile. Luis makes you feel welcomed and makes every interaction personal, I've notice that he makes it a priority to remember all his customers. Sliver has multiple locations around the area but they only have Luis at this one location, that's where I will always go no matter the distance. THANK YOU LUIS!!! Value - A whole pizza is about $28, very cost-effective for the quality and quantity. You can't go wrong! If you have never been to Sliver's before, you definitely gotta give it a try. I'm from SoCal and we definitely need a location down here in Los Angeles!!!
Sliver has their recipes down! I'm not usually a huge fan of thin crust but they sold me on theirs--perfect texture! Definitely recommend the green sauce. Quick turnaround time is an extra bonus. Would return & recommend!
Haven't had their pizza for a while so I thought I'd give it a go. To my surprise there was absolutely no one in the restaurant so the service was very quick. The restaurant is very clean and well appointed. Located in a busy and walkable area of Berkeley. The pizza was ready straight away but I'll be honest, is that a good thing when it appears they have no business? How fresh was it?! Took it home and it was okay. I do think it's been sitting for a wee bit but wasn't cold or hard. So that's a plus! The flavor was good and their green sauce was yummy! I liked they were very generous with their sauce for no extra charge. What I didn't like is that the crust on about 1/4 of the pizza was so thin it was too crispy and browned.
I finally understand the Slivers hype! It might sound odd to have a pizza shop that only offers one flavor per day, but these flavors are awesome! I was lucky enough to be visiting for their legendary potato pizza. It includes goat cheese, baby kale, and a delicious white sauce. I couldn't get enough, it wasn't overly oily or heavy and left me feeling so satisfied. Pizzas come with their special ""green sauce"" which was kind of like a mint chimichurri. This was a great compliment to the already delicious pizza. This specific location has plenty of inside seating, I was ordering my box to go. I love how they give you two extra slivers of pizza on top of the full size, I ate them as I walked to my destination! Service was so friendly and warm, I had a lovely experience. I get why all Berkeley students reccomend Slivers!
Decent pizza, a good choice if you're in the area and want a bite to eat. But feels like everything could be done a little better. The crust, the cheese, the dough. Service was nice and polite, ambience is your typical pizzeria.
Sliver is as good as the reviews says and I always make an effort to stop by when I'm in the area. This pizza of the day had sweet potato and a bunch of other ingredients that were so good. A must is to get generous amounts of the green sauce to dip or pour on your pizza. The sauce is delicious with any of their pizza of the day flavors. The pizza crust and bread doesn't flop and has a subtle crunch with every bite. Writing the review is making me want to get another slice.
Reviews are largely positive. Many highlight the friendly and attentive staff, creative daily pizza varieties, and relaxed and lively atmosphere.

Happy 2021 my friends! Over the Christmas holidays while being at home in the Bay, I was really craving some vegan pizza. Since I normally cook at home now, it was a nice treat when I was able to pickup one of these amazing pizzas to go as a little "cheat meal" for myself from my usual diet. Sliver Pizzeria is really the best spot to get a creative and tasty vegan pizza in the Bay. I love this chain and being able to come try their pizza again through the lens of a plant-based lifestyle now. They have three locations around Berkeley and they offer a mad delicious vegetarian/vegan pizza. Each shop makes one kind of pizza a day and you can look online for their daily menu offerings. Ordering a vegan pizza ($22) means you must get a whole large size portion, which makes for leftovers later. For my pizza, it was a yukon potato, corn pizza with vegan cheese sprinkled on top. The cheese is optional and can be opted out for a less fattening pizza. But if you're gonna go out and enjoy a pizza, you might as well go all the way especially if you're mostly whole foods, plant based normally. I won't tell! I much prefer the vegan pizza over the vegetarian option. I love the crust here which seems like its made from rice flour - it's a lot chewier than traditional American pizza crusts and less thick. It's certainly not a bad thing though. Coupled with their house made Chimichurri sauce and you got a match made in heaven. Only thing I wish I could change about this location is the lack of parking and how small this shop is compared to their other locations. They're covid compliant but be sure to limit your time inside as it is a bit crowded. read more
This is turning out to be our go-to takeout pizza place (Shattuck location). I don't order delivery because it basically increases the cost by a third, so even though parking in central Berkeley can be a hassle, that's my preference. Pizzas (8 slices) are on the small side for $30 but the quality of the ingredients more than makes up for the modest size. Love the green sauce! read more
Very tasty pizza. Poor operation. There was only one person at the counter. They don't use ticketing numbers or customer's names. So the poor lady was constantly shouting out the orders like "one slice!" or "who's waiting for one whole pizza and two slices!?". It's a miracle this system works. They have only one kind of pizza a day. So, ordering is easy in that sense. You just have to pick the portion size - whole pizza, one half, just a slice etc... read more

Omg this pizza hit the spot!! The flavors were so good I can tell they put a lot of thought into their ingredients. We got the pizza of the day which consisted of potatoes, tomatoes, mozzarella, pecorino, spinach and garlic oil. My go to pizzas always have meat on it and although this one didn't it was surprisingly delicious. The green sauce was also pretty good, kind of reminded me of a zhoug sauce and paired well with the pizza. To top it off the service is great, restaurant is clean and the owner is very welcoming. Really impressed with this place and looking forward to what they come up with next! read more
I love sliver and my favorite go to pizza is potato with corn. Seriously it's addictive especially with their green sauce. Parking: cna be a nightmare in downtown, but not too terrible depending on when you arrive. Cost:~$30 for pizza and green sauce Customer service: it's pretty good and fast! Cleanliness: the place is pretty clean, and they seem to wipe things down! Pizza: delicious as always! Seriously! I love how it's thin crust, filled with flavor and their green sauce adds to it! This was my first visit to any of the Sliver locations. Maybe my expectations were too high going in because of the very strong rating, but I was underwhelmed. I ordered the pizza of the day, and while it was somewhat tasty, it was nothing to write home about. The pizza wasn't cold, but it was not hot, either. Could this be because it had already come out of the oven before I ordered it? It makes sense, as Sliver certainly knows customers are going to order the pizza of the day, and it explains why I hardly had to wait for my pie to be ready. I figured it had at least been on low heat in the oven, but whether or not this was the case, it was no longer hot by the time I reached my destination 15 minutes later. I was also disappointed that the pizza toppings were so uneven: the pie had tons of potato, but hardly any spinach. I'm willing to believe this was just a fluke and not indicative of the norm at Sliver, but I'm not going to be in a rush to come back. Cheeseboard and Zachary's are considerably higher on my list of East Bay pizzerias. P.S. One non-pizza shortcoming: after I ordered my pie, I walked towards the restroom, only to find it was not accessible to customers. read more
Definitely a solid spot for pizza in Berkeley that's well worth the money! I ordered 2 slices for around $6, and they also gave me 2 extra slivers so it was basically 2.5 slices that was enough for dinner. You can check the menu on the website for what they're serving each day, and choose to go on a day they have a pizza you like, which was what I did. The flavor of the pizza did not disappoint, and the crust was nice and crisp. Their signature sauce is also pretty fire! Overall, a convenient place to grab a delicious meal, and I would definitely come again! read more

Is this REALLY a 5-star pizza spot?! Probably not. But I absolutely love the cheese pizza/green sauce combo. It is so good and I'm often finding myself craving it right around 12pm. The taste is so unique and I've never had anything like it. read more

Tried their pizza of the day a couple months back and it was solid. I got the pizza of the day which was a milder pizza with white sauce and potatoes. Nothing too special and wasn't all too impressed especially after hearing all the hype about it. I will say that their green sauce is quite tasty and is very similar to a mint chutney and tasted fresh. They only gave me 1 tiny container at which point I requested a couple more and the employee who was working there was kinda rude. Overall this specific pizza of the day was ok, if I'm in the area I may try a different one. read more

Just a sliver please! It's been years since I've been back to The Bay so if I've ever had Bay Area Pizza before, I've totally forgotten by now. But from what I've had at Sliver, I'll definitely be coming back for more. The pizza of the day was Corn, Chile Pasilla, Yellow Onions, Mozzarella, French Feta, Cilantro, Garlic Olive Oil, and Mexican Key Limes... basically a Mexican Corn Pizza, a combination that would seem out of place in most places, but not in NorCal! We were going on a progressive dinner tour of Berkeley and Oakland so instead of slices of pie we opted for slivers and the portion was a perfect bite, especially with the Pesto Sauce to drizzle over them! From what my friend told me, although some would rate Cheese Board, Arizmendi, and Diamond Slice over Sliver, they're all variations off the same type of pizza... which means I'll have to figure out a return trip to try them all! Size DOES count when it comes to a progressive dinner, so if you got 3-4 places to eat at in one evening, get a sliver at Sliver and save your waistline for the heavier foods! read more
The pizza of the day was excellent. The personal salad met expectations. But you do pay a price for eating in a restaurant on Shattuck avenue in berkeley. Their public restroom was closed therefore no place to wash your hands. The employee said the restroom was closed due to vandalism. read more

Sliver never disappoints! I ordered ahead but there was honestly no need. The pizzas take around 10-15 minutes to make and come out delicious!! You can check their website ahead of time to see the pizza of the day. They have two locations in Berkeley which I love thanks for always being so consistent Sliver! read more

Dude, this pizzeria is flames. Straight up FIRE. My bf and I love this place to fault. Cause of obesity: Sliver. I'm convinced that Sliver is the only exception to my severe aversion to pizza crusts. My friends know I eat pizza "backwards" (ie. crust-first) to avoid that tough, powdery bit after a particularly chunky slice, no matter which pizzeria we're at. I just hate ending a great slice of pizza with a mouthful of ashy... crust! Then my bf introduced me to Sliver, and that all went out the window. There's something about their crust that's like... Thin garlic bread? Great fluffy/crunchy ratio, and never any excess flour. I was converted instantaneously. Here, I could eat pizza like a normal human being. Groundbreaking. The Berkeley location sits along a busy walking street, among other businesses. Inside, ample seating & dim lighting, sometimes accompanied by live music. I'd recommend walking since parking is definitively impossible on Shattuck. Their gimmicks are: 1.) having only 1 (vegetarian) pie a day, and 2.) leaving 2 extra slices (ie. "slivers") in the box. Their flavors are unique & all worth a try! Comes with a mildly spicy cilantro sauce that my bf worships. Serious competition between this and Zachary's as our favorite pizza spot. ~ Note: In skimming Sliver's site & the first page of Google search results, they're supposedly involved in anti-human trafficking advocacy. Ok, I'm a long time cheeseboard to sliver lover. But today it's raining cats and dogs, and y'all broke my heart with the vegan pizza. I'd recommend you sub cheese for cheese...rather than tomato for cheese. Not even gonna put this on the folks working there; it's not the same since it went super corporate and they're obviously under staffed. But wanna leave a word of warning to other vegans--check your pizza before you take it home! read more

I live right across the street from the Broadway Oakland location and love it. I like how you can affordably satisfy a solo quick snack with a slice and sliver or a full on meal here with friends over a half or whole pie. Bf and I were going to watch the documentary Game Changers (highly recommended) at the Berkeley United Artists theater and I needed some grub prior. Stopped in the downtown Berkeley location and saw the pizza of the day had corn, green Pasilla chilis, feta cheese, limes - 2 slices please! There was a line but it moved fairly quickly. My two slices with the signature sliver arrived and were hot, fresh and delicious. Of course I had to top it off with the addicting green and red sauces. They were gone before I can say sliver. I also love that they support anti-sex trafficking. Thank you Sliver!! read more

This review is about Sliver's use of GrubHub as a delivery service. I placed a delivery order just after 6pm, and for the next 90 minutes the GrubHub app told me my order was delayed. I walked outside to check, and found my order had been left on the wall outside the front gate. The delivery driver didn't confirm that it had been delivered, it was completely cold and had probably been sitting there for at least 30 minutes. read more

We came here after seeing the enormous line at Cheeseboard but I have to say, Sliver did not disappoint! The pizza of the day was a Mexican corn pizza with spicy peppers which was amazing with the green sauce they serve on the slide. Such a good deal and definitely satisfies your pizza cravings. read more

I know usually when I tell people there is a this great pizza place I know of, but they never use meat, people are turned off. I'm definitely into chicken and sausage on my pizza, but Sliver has done it really well to use just vegetables. It's simple and tasty. They also have this green sauce, kind of spicy and it changes the life of the pizza! Their corn and chili pizza is my favorite. The atmosphere is super casual, close to UCB, so many students stop by. They are also very affordable. read more

I stopped by here for a quick bite and the pizza was amazing! This place serves only one kind of pizza everyday and they're always really unique. Living up to its name, they also give you a sliver of pizza with each slice you order. The crust is pretty thin and crispy, which I really like, and the toppings are wonderful. They also have a special green and red sauce that you can add to the pizza and they're fun to try. I personally enjoyed the red one the most, but they're both really tasty. I would definitely come here again if I'm ever craving some pizza!! read more
I had to grub before attending a show nearby and pizza is the quickest, easiest, and delicious option. Always. I walked in with determination, ready to indulge in two slices of cheese pizza. I placed my order and was caught off guard when they said the only slices are the pizza of the day or you can order a whole pizza if you want cheese. And there I stood, at a pizza joint, staring intently into the pizza guy's eyes, about to make the biggest decision that day. I contemplated between the whole pizza and two slices-- Should I risk it all and get the whole pizza and potentially have food coma missing out on the whole performance or do I settle with the two slices of the day... I ended up getting the two slices and it was amazing. There were at least 5 toppings if not more that all went well together. The squirt of lime really elevated the flavors. Huh...a pizza joint with no meat. I will tell you up front I am a solid believer of having meat on my pizzas. Not those meat lover pies but at least some sort of meat topping. They serve one type of meatless pizza per day and only one. Today was some sort of corn with spinach and feta cheese topped with lime. It's...not bad. You can get it by the slice, half a pie or an entire pie. So it'll be a hit or miss depending on your preference. I didn't really expect myself enjoying it but I kind of did. I don't think I'd have a craving for this place but I could see how it would rank very highly on many people's go-to pizza joint. Their pizza is light and delicious at the same time. I'll give this place 4/5. You could argue it was because it didn't have meat but I gotta say it didn't bother me much in the end. The flavor was good and the dough wasn't bad. The ingredients were good and we loved the corn on our pizza but like I said it'll depend on pizza of the day. If you're in the area I'd say swing by and check it out. read more
