Seems better than it really is....After a long day of visiting the place of higher education, we was hungry. Nostalgia much? I grew up with Blondie's Pizza. I have loved this place since I was a teenager & I love it even more now. For more than one reason. For one it brings back so many good memories, Blondie's always makes me happy. The second reason is they now have 100% BEEF PEPERONI! You heard me, 100% BEEF PEPPERONI! For some people that's not a big deal. For someone who hasn't eaten pork their whole life & always has to avoid getting pepperoni on their pizza, its a HUGE freaking deal. I love, love, love when the rare occasion happens that I get to enjoy BEEF PEPPERONI on my pizza. OK besides that, the pizza is amazing. I was literally closing my eyes and in my happy place the whole time. Now for those that never had BEEF PEPPERONI, please go try it. It is so much higher quality than pork pepperoni, so I've been told. I plan to make many more trips in the near future, thats how excited it made me. By the way I loved the cheese just as much, yum yummy. Pro tip: parking is hard, obviously, downtown Berkeley and all. So either walk, Uber, find parking, take the bus, or do as I do and tag team it and drop off a friend to go order for the whole car and drive around until they are ready to be picked up. We had seen someone carrying a slice of Blondie's Pizza that looked and smelled really good, so the next time we were in the area around lunch time we had to try it. We went with a large pepperoni sausage pizza. After taking it home, about an hour away, it was still warm and tasted good. The reason for the low rating is because I do not like thick crust pizza. The flavor was ok, but not enough to look past the thick crust that I do not care for, so I will most likely not go back. Solid food and large slices for $8. I personally wishes slices were smaller and cheaper so I could get multiple different slices, but oh well. Some people's go-to spot for pizza in the area. I liked how the tomato sauce was just straight tomato and not sweet or anything. At pickup, you get a cheese pull but it is not sloppy. When it cools, cheese doesn't get hard either. The only reason I am giving two stars is because the crust (although bland) was at least crispy. Took my daughter here and got slices and have to say it brought back memories of the late 90's/early 2000's hanging on the old Telegraph. The pizza was fresh, cheese and massive just like always. The staff members are nice and quick when asking for the name and when handing over the slices of pizza. It's a small room with not much seating as most people take their Blondies to-go. Their cheese and beef pepperoni pizzas are very good and delicious, if you are looking for a cheat meal in Berkeley haha.
