They're consistent, quick, and the Desi Bread, Aloo Gobhi, Tandoori Chicken, and Chili Paneer pizzas are delicious. It's a perfect choice when ordering for groups, since they have so many varied flavors and vegetarian options. It's great that CPH has spread its wings (proverbial; I haven't tried their wings) across the bay and elsewhere. 15 years ago, we had to travel to Pizza and Curry in Fremont, which was fantastic but not particularly close. I love Curry Pizza House, but the Berkeley location is terrible. Almost every time I order pizza here they get my order wrong (they leave out a topping that's supposed to be included), and the toppings they do include are extremely sparse. Even when I call (after ordering online) to remind them to get it right, they still get it wrong. The "curry sauce" tasted off. Nothing like any curry I've ever had. A funk to it, a little sour. It's not a thick pizza, but still it was a bit doughy/underdone under the topping. Ordering online was a simple process and they even have a rewards program for future discounts. I appreciated the fact they had a wide range of offerings for everyone from folks who like classic pizzas to fusion options with Indian dishes. Very simple storefront and they were right on time making my order. Even got to meet the owner and hear his story, very kind man and even got a taste of their mango lassi. Happy New Year! Let's get this Yelping year off to a good start! Two of my favorite foods are pizza and Indian food, so Indian pizza? Sign me up! I had been introduced to Indian pizza when my office in San Francisco had ordered some, and I was hooked. But for whatever reason I had never thought to seek out Indian pizza in the east bay, where I live. I finally tried to give it a shot based on the enticing menu and good Yelp reviews of Curry Pizza House (Berkeley location). During our rainy, windy, and stormy January, I was reluctant to order delivery because I didn't want to put any drivers in danger, but I was also hungry! As the weather calmed down, I placed the order and provided a generous tip given the inclement weather. Via Uber Eats, I ordered three personal pizzas: butter chicken, curry veggie, tandoori chicken. And an order of Desi Spicy Pesto Sticks. Everything was very tasty, and ensured I'd be ordering from there again. I ordered three personal-size pizzas (6 small slices) in order to try different toppings and sauces. I was most excited to try the butter chicken pizza on a shahi sauce because I love butter chicken in general. Unfortunately, the pizza was not very butter chicken-y to me, which is not necessarily a bad thing. The sauce and chicken we're still nicely spiced and flavorful and tasty on its own, even though I would not not say it reminded me enough of butter chicken. The tandoori chicken pizza on a white sauce, on the other hand was, spectacular. The white sauce was mild enough to let the juicy chicken and other toppings really shine. This is a pizza I would order again for sure 10/10. The curry veggie pizza on a curry sauce was also very flavorful, and although I didn't like it as much as he tandoori chicken, I did like it more than the butter chicken. The Desi Garlic Sticks were a nice addition. Because I was filling up on all the pizzas, it was a little difficult to appreciate them, but they were tasty and had quite the kick to them, living up to their spicy name. The Bay is certainly no stranger to fusion food: a beautiful, culinary product of the meshing of various ethnic cuisines. Sometimes fusion restaurants can be gimmicky or uninspired, but the new kid on the block, Curry Pizza House, is no such thing. As the name suggests, Curry Pizza House dishes out pies with an Indian flare. Some pizzas feature butter chicken bases or are topped with generous amounts of cubed Chicken Tikka. Regardless of which Indian pizza you order, they're bound to be a crowd-pleaser. I ordered the large Chicken Tikka pizza which was more than enough to feed two hungry students along with a Caesar salad to ease my pizza-adoring, vegetable-tolerating conscience. The pizza was amazing as was expected from a restaurant whose kitchen always emanates delicious aromas. The crust was incredibly crispy and light, and the toppings harmonized with the white sauce perfectly. What might be even more stellar is the service. The kind man who took our order and handed us our pizza treated us with immense hospitality, giving us water cups, a pizza slicer, and paper plates. Water cups usually incur a surcharge (thanks city of Berkeley), but the man happily handed us water cups gratis. There's a certain restaurant (coincidentally also on Telegraph) whose name I won't drop -but know that it rhymes with BomBom- that always has rude employees who scoff and demand $.30 when you ask for a water cups, so the Curry Pizza House employee was a breath of fresh air for me and my boyfriend. I don't mind a legally-required surcharge, but I do mind egregious service. Luckily, service is stellar at Curry Pizza House, and the food is bomb too. Stopped by because I received a coupon in the mail and my life was changed. We decided to try the desi garlic sticks, a large half and half pizza with chicken tikka and curry chicken masala, and the masala chips. The prices are a bit expensive, but it's definitely worth it for the amount of toppings they put on. The pizza crust had a great texture, the sauces underneath complemented the toppings well, and they put a lot of toppings on without it feeling overwhelming. The chips are more like slices of potato. We ordered through Snackpass and there was a 15% deal but turns out there's an even better deal if you go in person or order through the QR code in my picture for 25% off. When I opened the box, I honestly thought they messed our order up because I couldn't tell if it was actually half and half. Both sides looked the same and I still have no idea even after eating it. It honestly just tasted like chicken pizza. I could taste a little bit of Indian spice flavors in some bites but it wasn't strong enough for me to distinguish. I love indian twist to pizzas and this one does justice to it! The ingredients seem fresh and each bite is a burst of flavor! But out of the two flavors, the consensus was the chicken tikka was better. The flavor of the chicken tikka was more pronounced and the chicken was nice and tender. The Aloo Gobiii was alright. Very subdued in terms of flavor and the cauliflower was a bit hard and the crunch detracted from the pizza. Other than that, the crust on the pizza was perfect. It was soft and chewy without being super thick/pillowy but wasn't as thin as a New York style spot either. There was only 1 table inside the store, but it's a great option for takeout. The Palak Paneer pizza was my favorite. I loved the texture of the paneer on top of the soft, chewy dough. The Chicken Tikka was also good, and it had lots of fresh green onions sprinkled on top. The white sauce was pretty mild and the pizza overall tasted more American than Indian. I'm curious what the curry or red sauce taste like. Overall it's a solid spot that caters well to college students. Came here on a Monday after getting pierced down the street at Zebra with some friends. They only have two small tables with 3 seats each so if you're in a bigger group, I'd recommend being ready to grab and go. Why is this size not the standard for the other paneer pizza's? I had 1/2 a pizza with perfect large paneer and the second 1/2 with tiny pieces of paneer. Another issue, your male employees did not make the pizza correctly. I asked for 1/2 malai sauce and 1/2 shahi sauce. What I was given is a whole pizza of white garlic sauce which I did not order.
