Been here twice now to try the wrap and the plate. I much preferred the plate however it's quite expensive for what it is and they charge you extra if you want both hummus and rice. I was really excited for the wrap because it was nicely toasted on the outside and pretty big but it was pretty much all salad greens with a few pieces of chicken that you could barely taste. I asked to add rice to both my wrap and my husband's but neither of us got rice so that was disappointing as rice probably would have made it much better. It was very filling due to the size but probably wouldn't get it again. The French fries are always fresh and hot so I appreciate that!

First time here, we actually were planning on having Thai across the street. But seen this spot and walked over. Small cafe type place, owners very friendly and greet you upon arrival. No sit-down menus so you have to order at the counter. But since there was only 1 person in the place it was fine. Ordering is quick and easy. Good amount of food for your buck.. soup could have had more flavor but we will order a different one next time. Falafels are excellent and chicken wrap was good. My platter had kebabs and all were flavorful. Definitely a place to come to lots of foot traffic, people ordering and picking up, seems like phone orders. And they are quick 8-10 minutes per orders.. thanks for the lunch we will be back..

Jerusalem Organic Kitchen is a hidden gem (easily missable from the street) but the food is delicious! I've been here a few times and always feel like the value and quality of the dishes is super high. The dishes are seasoned impeccably. I love that their tabbouleh is topped with roasted sesame seeds for example - adds so much flavor and texture. 10/10 would recommend this place!!!

The inside of Jerusalem Organic Kitchen looks quite rustic and dated, but this restaurant turns out seriously delicious and high-quality Israeli dishes! The Falafel Platter came with a colorful assortment of mezzes including four crispy, herbaceous chickpea fritters; hummus; baba ghanoush; Jerusalem salad (lettuce, tomato, and cucumber topped with za'atar); tabbouleh (parsley, bulgur, tomato salad topped with sesame seeds); feta cheese; olives; whole wheat pita bread; tahini; and a tomato-based hot sauce on the side. My favorite components were the falafel and hummus, which were both fresh and flavorful! The Combination Skewers Patter came with three freshly-grilled skewers: chicken, beef, and lamb kofta, and my favorite was the kofta, which was perfectly spiced and grilled to juicy perfection. The platter also came with Jerusalem salad, hummus, and pita, which completed the meal. Overall, the food here was fresh, vibrant, flavorful, and absolutely delicious!

I live down Solano and can't believe I have not walked into this place. I definitely will be back! My lamb wrap was fairly priced for the size of it (see photo). Falafels were on point too. Excited to try the other items in the menu next time.

Located on the top of Solano Ave, parking is easy to find. Depending on if you want to pay you have street parking, but also if you go on side streets you don't have to pay. When you enter, the interior seems a bit run down and the tables were a bit dirty. They seemed to have a variety of food options on their menu from wraps to hot platters to seafood. We ended up ordering the lamb Jerusalem burger and the shawarma wrap with hummus and fries. Presentation wise, it was a bit disappointing. The fries and hummus were served in a to go container even though we were sitting in the restaurant. Our food was served on a paper plate with plastic forks. We were excited to try their pita bread thinking maybe it was homemade; however we saw it was coming straight out of a plastic bag that one could get out of safeway. Overall food was okay, lamb was overcooked and the burger was dry.

I ordered the chicken shawarma wrap. The amount of chicken in it was laughable. It was mostly greens.

The Good: * Friendly service at the counter and at the table, but there were some issues (see below). * Halal (حلال) *Veg-head friendly and gluten-free options are available * Their toum (garlic sauce) will surely keep the vampires at bay. * My Lamb Bowl was delicious and all the veggies tasted super fresh. *We came here to try their viral Knafeh Pancake and it did not disappoint. We were a little hesitant at the $20 price tag, but it was 100% worth it. Subtly sweet with rose water syrup and crunchy from the ghee toasted kataifi combined with the cheese and pancake bottom made this an irresistible treat. The Meh: * It's a busy place, and the interior only holds maybe twenty people at a time, so be prepared to wait to dine in. * Carissa felt like her chicken could've been on the grill for maybe an extra minute or so--not that it was undercooked, but it just needed a touch more texture. * Free street parking only, which can be difficult, but not impossible to find during busier days/times. The Ugly: * I realize they just reopened and might still be working out the kinks, but the staff bringing out the food seemed confused about which orders went where, despite a huge table number we were assigned, and my bowl was brought out a good ten minutes before Carissa's was--and that includes a snafu where they tried to bring out the same bowl (mine) twice! Conclusion: Overall, it was a tasty bite and well worth the schlep up from the South Bay to Albany. We're definitely bringing my sister the next time she visits. **Order at the counter, and food is brought out to your table.

Most recently I finally was able to give them a try. So glad we did! We came around lunch time and sat at a booth. There were other worker bees grabbing a quick lunch. The sandwiches come with a side, so one plate we did fries with a house-made aioli and the other plate, their quinoa kale salad. Delicious. Such hearty portions! But I'm so glad I was finally introduced to it. The staff greet you promptly when you enter and you can even watch them work effortlessly together in the open prep-station behind the counter. They have a gorgeous display of deli items, wines, cheeses, cold sides, and even some cute candles & house made croutons. They've got everything you would need for an elevated picnic or even a barbecue with the family. They have an intriguing selection of house made sausages-- the Chicken Tikka Masala sausage caught my eye and I can't wait to try it. They also sell whole smoked quail that are seasoned heavily yet each bite has just the right amount of smokiness, spices, and salt. Their hot food items and sandwiches are perfect for a quick lunch during your break from work or on your way home. There are also a few counter seats if you want to enjoy your meal there. So far I've tried the smoked quail, the Muffaletta sandwich, and their green lentil soup with chicken + veg. The sandwich was filled to the brim and each bite was a flavor bomb. The lentil soup was very comforting & paired well with the smoked quail. I'm looking forward to trying everything they have to offer.

Nothing crazy. But then my daughter noticed that the chicken in her Fattoush salad was a bit raw in the middle. She cut open all the pieces she still had on her plate, and a couple were the same. We called the server over and informed her that the chicken was undercooked. She took the salad to the kitchen to fix the problem. A couple of minutes later, she came back with her salad and said her chicken would be done in a bit. I think we were in shock. Never in my 57 years of life/30 years in the food industry have I ever seen a restaurant take the food off a plate that had bites taken out of it, salad that had been halfway consumed, PUT THE CHICKEN BACK ON THE GRILL, AND RE-SERVED THE SALAD TO THE CUSTOMER. We didn't quite know what to do. When she came back with the recooked chicken, we knew it was the same pieces because they were all cut in half as before. In hindsight, should we have called over the manager? Probably. He probably would have had the salad redone, which would have taken more time than we had. Did it take away the fact that they recooked half-eaten chicken on the grill and re-served the same salad? No. This is clearly a major health code violation. Then, when they cleared our plates, the server said to us, "You didn't want dessert, did you?" That was the icing on the un-ordered cake for us. So disappointing. Food was pretty tasteless, and service was... very odd. I think we're done with Zaytoon.
